PHILADELPHIA – Depois de dez anos celebrando as maiores e melhores conquistas do boxe da Filadélfia, o Briscoe Awards mudará o calendário de seu evento anual, de outubro a março.
“Já faz alguns anos, Eu considerei transferir os prêmios para a primeira parte do ano,” disse John DiSanto, fundador do Briscoe Awards. “O horário original do outono causou muita confusão, porque no momento em que entregamos os prêmios, as lutas eram notícia velha. A mudança para março nos permitirá entregar os prêmios logo após o término do ano da luta. Estou um pouco nervoso em fazer uma mudança, mas a longo prazo, a mudança só tornará o Briscoe Awards melhor.”
O Briscoe Awards homenageia as principais lutas e lutadores da região da Filadélfia todos os anos. Split-T Management Signs 5 time NY Daily News Golden Gloves Champion and 2017 US National Welterweight Champion Brian Ceballo

Nova Iorque, Nova Iorque (Março 19, 2018)–Split-T Management is proud to announce the signing of 5-time New York Golden Gloves champion and 2017 United States Amateur champion Brian Ceballo to a management contract.

 

 

 

 

 

O 24 year-old is a native of Brooklyn, New York had a stellar amateur career that saw him win 17 National championships beginning at 11 years old when he won the National Silver Gloves championship.

 

 

 

 

Ceballo, who began boxing at 8 years-old won 11 National titles as a junior and 6 National titles as a senior which includes the 2016 National Golden Gloves title, 2017 United States National Title.

 

 

 

 

Ceballo also captured the 2014 World Series of Boxing Team Trials, and was a Olympic trials semifinalist.

 

 

 

 

Além de boxe, Ceballo is a well rounded individual as he plays the piano, guitar, and has been singing since he was 15 anos.

 

 

 

 

“Brian has been the top amateur welterweight in New York, as well as the United States for the past several years. He has proven time and time again that he is an elite fighter and I’m glad he decided to have Split-T Management guide his professional career to the top of the welterweight division,” said Split-T Management CEO David McWater.

 

 

 

 

“I first met (CEO of Split-T Management) David McWater at the 2016 Luvas de Ouro nacionais, which I won. I wasn’t ready to turn professional, but we talked. Russian Bantamweight Contender Nikolai Potapov Returns with TKO over Saltykov

Former NABO Champion and #2-rated WBO bantamweight contender Nikolai Potapov returned to action last Saturday night with a TKO 3 over his Russian countryman, Alexander Saltykov.

Fighting at the Floyd Mayweather Boxing Academy in Zhukovka, Rússia, Potapov looked sharp while forcing Saltykov to stay on his stool after two rounds of pounding.
The 28-year-old Potapov holds a victory over former world title challenger Antonio Nieves and fought to a draw with Stephen Young, who is fighting for WBA Interim title this weekend.
“I am excited to get the win and look forward to challenging the best bantamweights in the world,” said Potapov, pós-luta. “Every experience is a lesson and I keep improving with each fight and training camp. Training in Detroit at the Kronk Boxing Gym with Javan Sugar Hill Steward has taken my game to the next level. I am grateful to my promoters Salita Promotions and PBL. I know this is going to be a big year for me.”

Falcao excited for Massachusetts debut; ready to put on a show

Plant City, FL (Março 16, 2018) – World rated middleweight Yamaguchi Falcao returns to the ring Sábado, Março 31 against rugged Colombian Richard “La Lamina” Gutierrez in an eight round contest at the Marina Bay Sportsplex in Quincy, MA.
Born and raised in Brazil but now fighting out of Plant City, FL under head trainer Jose Rodriguez, Falcao captured a Bronze Medal at the London Olympics in 2012. The 30-year-old standout has been flawless thus far as a pro, compilando um 14-0 registro com 7 vitórias por nocaute. St. Louis Bantamweight Young to Face Reymart Gaballo for WBA Interim World Championship on Sexta-feira, Março 23, at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Cassino, Hollywood, Florida
Perennial 118-lb contender Stephon “Showstopper” Young is finishing up his 13-week training camp in Miami while wondering if his opponent knows what he’s truly in for next week.
Em Sexta-feira, Março 23, in the Hard Rock Event Center at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla., WBA #4-rated Young (17-0-3, 7 KOs) from St. Louis will face WBA #5 Reymart “GenSan Assassin” Peças (18-0, 16 KOs) from General Santos City, Filipinas, in a 12-round battle for the WBA Interim World Bantamweight Championship.
Young vs. Gaballo headlines promoter Kris Lawrence and The Heavyweight Factory’s “Rumble at the Rock,” an 11-bout night of world-class professional boxing. In the 10-round co-main, former WBA Super World Bantamweight Champion Juan Carlos Payano (19-1, 9 KOs) assume “Magic” Mike Plania (14-0, 7 KOs) from General Santos City, Filipinas.

29-year-old southpaw Young says that while Gaballo obviously has some strength to have such a high KO percentage, he is too green to be in the ring with a fighter at his level and experience.

Jovem, who still lives in St. Louis but travels to Miami for camp, says coming up the hard way in boxing and then meeting up with his current team will make all the difference próxima sexta-feira.
“When I turned pro, I didn’t get signed right off the bat with a big-time promoter,” ele disse. “I went and fought in people’s backyards and proved myself. I was given nothing, but I knew my time would come. I stayed focused and continued to train. I’ve been with my coach, Herman Caicedo, now for two years and I’m a totally different fighter. I want to thank my team, my promoter Kris Lawrence and The Heavyweight Factory for giving me this opportunity, my manager Henry Rivalta for always believing in me and my coach Herman Caicedo for getting me in the best shape I’ve ever been.”
For Young, lifting the belt over his head próxima sexta-feira will be a dream come true.

ICYMI: When U.K.-based YouTube star KSI was in need of boxing expertise and guidance, he turned to two-time world champion Badou Jack “The Ripper,” embedding with Team Jack and trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. for a week-long training regimen at Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas.
Tomada, who last fought on August 26, 2017 and knocked out Nathan Cleverly on the televised undercard of the record-breaking Mayweather vs. McGregor fight card at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas was back in the gym preparing for his upcoming bout.
