Live coverage of Groves vs. Chudinov will be provided by Sky Sports Box Office with sportscasters Adam Smith and Carl Froch and will begin at approximately 4:30 p.m. ET/1:30 p.m. PT exclusively in the U.S. sur SHOWTIME Sports Facebookpage and the SHOWTIME Sports YouTube canal. Fans can follow all SHOWTIME Sports social accounts (SHOsports) Samedi afternoon for the precise start time to Groves vs. Chudinov following undercard action from Bramall Lane stadium in Sheffield, Angleterre. These platforms will be geo-blocked for U.S. seulement.

Former three-time title challenger Groves and former champ Chudinov (14-1, 10 KOs) will meet for the vacant WBA Super Middleweight World Championship in a matchup of the WBA’s No. 1 et n. 2 challengers in a co-featured bout at Bramall Lane.

Groves (25-3, 18 KOs) has won four straight since teaming up with 2016 Trainer of the Year Shane McGuigan following a close split-decision loss to then-WBC Champion Badou Jack in 2015. The only other blemishes on his record came in title challenges to long-time 168-pound champ Carl Froch.

“I believe this is the best opportunity for me to achieve my dream and become world champion,” Groves said earlier this week. “Time is on my side. I had a good year last year, and I’m in a good place. I’ve put in the work, et maintenant, I need to make this count.

“Everything that’s happened in the past has just made me more determined. I know the pressure is on, and I can’t afford to make any more mistakes. This might be my best chance to win a world title, but it could also be my last.”

Chudinov (14-1, 10 KOs) originally won the WBA Super Middleweight Title with a split-decision victory over Felix Sturm in 2015 and made one successful defense before losing via controversial majority decision in a rematch with Sturm in 2016. Sturm later vacated the belt due to injury, opening up the opportunity for Chudinov to win back his title ce samedi against Groves. Chudinov is ranked No. 1 by the WBA while Groves is ranked No. 2.

SHEFFIELD (Mai 24) – Kell Brook will make his fourth IBF Welterweight World Title defense against U.S. star Errol Spence Jr. at Bramall Lane in Sheffield, England this samedi mai 27, en direct sur Showtime (5:15 p.m. ET/2:15 p.m. PT).

 

Ruisseau (36-1, 25 KOs) and mandatory challenger Spence, (21-0, 18 KOs), clash on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING in one of the biggest fights in the 147-pound division, and the elite pairing are promising to deliver an electric night of action.

 

Both fighters participated in a public media workout today, Mercredi, at Peace Gardens in Sheffield, Angleterre. Below is what they had to say:

 

KELL BROOK

“There’s no way he can beat me. I’m a man possessed and I have a serious job to do. This is my night to shine.

 

“I love it [being the underdog]. I was born for it. People don’t have me winning this fight, but that just gives me the extra energy I need to go out and prove them all wrong.

 

“This guy is a talented guy, but he’s never been tested. He’s never been in with someone who is so determined like me. Who’s bigger, fort, who has all this energy, who’s meant for this game, who’s meant to be a winner. He hasn’t been in with someone with that mindset, and that’s what I’m coming to bring Samedi.

 

“All the hard work has been done. The talking will stop; we’re ready to let some fireworks fly now.

 

“I can see us both maybe hitting the canvas. You’re going to be on the edge of your seat from round one. He’s not going to take a backwards step, and I’m not [non plus]. All I can say is it’s going to be a thriller.

“This is an ideal situation. I would be disappointed if I was fighting someone else because he vacated. "C'est un combat intéressant. Je n'ai pas trop suivi Kell, mais j'ai évidemment vu Errol combattre aux États-Unis. Errol est un dur, jeune combattant qui vient juste d'entrer dans l'œil du public, et Kell a évidemment la force de la foule britannique de son côté.

 

«Ce devrait être un combat difficile qui témoigne vraiment de la force de la division des poids welters. Les deux combattants sont des hommes que je serais ouvert au combat alors que je continue à unifier la division dans 2018. En tant que fan de combat, Voyons ce qui est "spécial" à propos de Kell Brook, et nous verrons si Errol Spence peut nous montrer qu'il est "La Vérité". « Ça va être un combat difficile, mais je pense qu'Errol devrait gagner. Au moins je tire pour qu'Errol gagne. Il doit surmonter l'idée qu'il y aura probablement 30,000 les gens l'acclament, donc il doit montrer aux juges qu'il mérite de gagner.

 

« Brook est un bon combattant et va apporter son meilleur, mais je pense qu'Errol, à la fin, est le meilleur combattant. Mais il devra le prouver.

SPENCE JR.: “Who doesn’t love knockouts? That’s the ultimate way to win in boxing, by knockout.”

 

KRIEGEL: You’ve been the most talked-about talent in boxing for a good while. Pourquoi donc?

“The Premier Boxing Champions series schedule for May has a slate of shows where several boxers get an opportunity to step up to world title matches,” dit Tim Smith, Vice President of Communications for Haymon Sports. “With so much on the line those kinds of challenges typically lead to action-packed, fan-friendly matches.”

On the same night Gary Russell, Jr. (21-1, 16 KOs) will defend his 126-pound world title against Oscar Escandon (25-2, 17 KOs) at MGM National Harbor outside Washington D.C. sur Showtime. “I’m really excited about this fight because this is the first time I haven’t had to call someone out, Santana has been calling me out for some time,” Saïd Serrano. “I’ve been in training since my last fight, just like I always am. I’m constantly learning and trying to improve and maintain my skills. Santana is the best female boxer from the Dominican Republic and she’s won fights all over the world. Raised in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn, Serrano gravitated toward boxing from watching her older sister Cindy, also a professional fighter. She picked the sport up quickly, amassant une 9-1 record during a brief amateur career in which she won the New York Golden Gloves title in 2008. The 28-year-old would go on to fight all over the world, seizing her first world title in 2011 when she defeated Kimberly Connor to grab a super featherweight belt. En 2014, she went to Argentina and defeated Maria Elena Maderna to become a world champion at lightweight. Her world title climb continued in 2016 as she stopped Olivia Gerula in the first round to capture her featherweight championship and followed that up with a victory over Alexandra Lazar to add a super bantamweight title to her collection. She most recently put on a show at Barclays Center in January when she defeated two-division champion Yazmin Rivas by unanimous decision.

Borrego had previously trained at Freddie Roach’s gym when training in the U.S., but held training camp up in the Bronx leading up to Avril 22.
Fighting out of Escondido, Californie, Delperdang most recently went 12-rounds with former title challenger Hank Lundy after winning his previous four fights, dont trois par KO. The 24-year-old defeated previously unbeaten Oscar Mejia last September and his only other defeat came via a narrow majority decision to then unbeaten Rickey Edwards.
