FITE TV announces television carriage deal for the WMMAA Pan-American Division Championships October 8-9 in Chile

NEW YORK, NY  (August 26, 2016) — FITE TV, in conjunction with the World MMA Association (WMMAA), announced today that it will be broadcasting the inaugural WMMAA Pan-American Division Championships live on FITE TV starting with the preliminary matches Saturday, October 8, and the final Sunday October 9, 2016.
FITE is a television network, via a downloadable app, that specializes in all things fighting, including boxing, wrestling, MMA and Martial Arts.  FITE is a free app that is available for download at the Google Play or iTunes app stores.
On Oct. 8-9, the WMMAA is bringing the top amateur MMA competitors from around the world to Santiago, Chile for a two-day competition.  More than 12 countries will be represented in eight different weight classes (6 men, 2 women classes).  Michelle Bachelet, the President of Chile, is slated to participate in the opening ceremonies and preside over the closing of the event.  In addition to the in-ring MMA competition, the weekend will feature a fitness expo and Ring Girl Latina 2016 pageant.  As of today, 12 countries have committed to participating in the event, including the United States, Mexico, Cuba, Aruba, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Colombia, Chile, Paraguay, Argentina, Bolivia, and Brazil.

Buenos Aires, Argentina (July 8, 2015)This Friday night in Buenos Aires, Argentina, undefeated and world ranked, Jr. Welterweight Mauro Maximiliano Godoy will defend the WBO Latino and Argentinian 140 pound titles when he takes on Xavier Luques Castillo.
Godoy of Centenario, Argentina has a record of 19-0 with 8 knockouts and is currently ranked number-9 by the WBO.
Castillo of Cordoba, Argentina is 13-4 with 4 knockouts.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to fight for Banner Promotions, and I will capitalize on being with a great company,” said Godoy.
“I have big expectations.  Castillo has fought internationally, so it is an opportunity to prove I can fight at a high level.  This will be a good fight but I will win the fight fight cleanly and emphatically.”
A win over Castillo will set up Godoy for a major fight in the United States.
“I am preparing to be the on the big stage in the United States.  This is a new opportunity with Banner Promotions.  I will prove that I have the qualities to become a star.”
Godoy will be the latest import from Argentina to be able to make a big name for himself, following in the footsteps of the likes of Lucas Matthysse, Marcos Maidana and Diego Chaves.

Sampson Boxing, WBC, CUBAP to hold Important South American Boxing Tournament

The WBC Amateur Boxing Committee, CUBAP and Sampson Boxing are proud to announce MERCOSUR “Rumbo a Mexico”, an elite boxing tournament featuring competitors from the South American “Mercosur” bloc of countries, Argentina, Brazil, as well as the host country, Uruguay.

 

The opening event of the Tournament will take place Friday, April 10, at Estadio 8 de Junio in Paysandu, Uruguay, and will continue from there with monthly shows from different locations in Uruguay.

 

Although this competition will be held with the hopes of discovering new South American boxing talent, because it is being held under the auspices of the WBC Amateur Committee and by CUBAP, safety and fighter wellbeing will be top priorities.

 

MERCOSUR “Rumbo a Mexico” will be broadcast live via VTV and Notifight.

 

“This is the first time in history that an elite tournament under the umbrella of the WBC is being held in my home country of Uruguay,” said Sampson Lewkowicz of Sampson Boxing. “I want to deliver to my homeland the first Uruguayan world champion and this is a great start. Warriors Boxing Signs Argentina’s Dario Pucheta to Promotional Contract

Warriors Boxing proudly announces the signing of Argentinean super welterweight contender Dario “El Gallo” Pucheta (20-2, 11 KOs) to a promotional contract.

28-year-old Pucheta went 102-8 as an amateur in Buenos Aires. He turned professional in 2009 and has already won the WPC light middleweight and South American Super Welterweight Championships.

“I am happy to have signed this exciting new prospect from Argentina,” said Warriors Boxing President, Leon Margules. “Both his losses were highly controversial and we think he’ll make a big mark in the international boxing scene when we get him active in the U.S.”

Pucheta, trained by his father, is a very patient fighter who works behind the jab and can fight coming forward or counter punch.

“He’s always in fantastic shape. That’s one of this greatest strengths,” continued Margules. “He’s a tireless worker in the gym, determined to become another great champion from Argentina and we’re happy for the opportunity to help him get there.”
