“MACHO MAN” CAMACHO SIGNS THREE YEAR DEAL WITH GOODWIN

Returns to the ring on “We never stop” show at York Hall October 17th

30 year old former Prizefighter Champion Wadi “Macho Man” Camacho has been the latest boxer to put the resurrection of his career and sign a three year contract with rising manager Steve Goodwin.

Cruiserweight Camacho hit the heights winning Prizefighter in 2013 but has failed to fully fulfil his potential since. Whilst Wadi has featured in thrilling fights and has had fans on the edge of their seats in televised fights he has suffered reversals to Stephen Simmons and Craig Kennedy in his most recent fights.

Wadi then set about finding a new promotional and managerial team “I believe that the Goodwin’s are the next best team in boxing behind Matchroom” said Wadi. I am so excited and buzzing again having Steve and his team behind me.”

Camacho is due back in the ring on October 17th on the undercard of Goodwin’s massive mega title bill “We never stop” at York Hall. “I want titles” said Camacho “After winning Prizefighter I should have gone through the title route of Southern area, English and British. This time with Steve this is the route I wish to go. We have a plan and after speaking to Steve and the team the buzz is really there.”

Goodwin was delighted with the new acquisition “I am delighted to be working with Wadi and I believe that we can get him back to where he belongs on main stream UK TV. We will do it at the right speed and I think in 12 months time  Wadi will be back in the big time. It is going to be exciting working with Wadi. He is a really nice guy with a lovely family and it will give me great pleasure being a part of his success”

Born in Osseo, Minnesota, Truax is an experienced veteran who has fought professionally since 2007. Fighting mostly in his home state of Minnesota, he was undefeated in his first 19 pro fights, which earned him a 2012 fight with Jermain Taylor.  Truax dropped a tough decision to Taylor, and has since put together a 7-1-1 record.  Truax’s only losses have come from world champions and he looks to get back in world title contention with an impressive performance on the PBC – The Next Round.
In the co-main event, a tall welterweight at 6′ 2″, James is undefeated as a professional.  Fighting out of Minneapolis, he has already been victorious twice in 2015, but faces the biggest test of his career when he faces Abreu on September 18th.
Abreu has developed a reputation as a knockout artist, having finished ten of his last 12 opponents inside the distance. The Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native has taken down previously unbeaten fighters Miguel Taveras, Abraham Peralta and Puro Pairol in his five-year career.
As the opening battle of the PBC – The Next Round, a highly-regarded prospect with an exciting style, the 19-year-old Lubin has burst onto the scene looking to engage and finish opponents early.  Since November 2014, he had 2 first-round knockouts and outclassed 2 experienced veterans.  He will be fighting just outside of his hometown of Orlando, Florida when he takes on Lora on September 18.
Fighting out of Sinaloa, Mexico, Lora looks to make it three straight victories in 2015 when he takes on Lubin. Having faced world champions such as Keith Thurman and Paulie Malignaggi, the well-tested Lora will hope to take Lubin into deep waters when they square-off.

BIRMINGHAM, AL (August 21, 2015) – Heavyweight World Champion Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder (34-0, 33 KOs) hosted a press conference yesterday to formally announce his Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on NBC bout taking place Saturday, September 26 against Johann “Reptile” Duhaupas (32-2, 20 KOs) at Legacy Arena in Birmingham.
Wilder will defend his title for the second time in his home state. Duhaupas, who has never been stopped, hopes to defy the odds and do what no previous opponent has accomplished against Wilder – emerge victorious.
This fight will signify the return of heavyweight world championship boxing in primetime to NBC. This is the first heavyweight title bout in primetime on NBC since May 20, 1985, when another undefeated American heavyweight world champion, Larry Holmes, defended his title against Carl Williams in Reno, Nevada with legendary broadcaster Marv Albert on the call, just as he will be on September 26. Now, Wilder looks to pick up where Holmes left off and deliver world-class heavyweight action right into sports fans’ living rooms.
Tickets for the event, which is promoted by DiBella Entertainment in association with Bruno Event Team, start at just $25 and are on sale now. For tickets please visit www.alabamatitlefight.com.
Quotes From Thursday’s Press Conference:
DEONTAY WILDER
“He’s never been knocked out until now. That’s always the ultimate goal when I’m in there with my opponent, to take them down. That’s how my name has gotten out there, through knockouts, and I want to keep that legacy going.
“It was big for me to knock my last opponent out and now I’m on a knockout spree.
“My hometown fans give me the momentum and the energy to continue to be great at what I do.
“This is a different ballgame when you’re dealing with the heavyweights. Everybody’s coming to get what I have. I like it. I love it actually. I like being the world’s most wanted, in a positive way.
“At the last fight, the energy was electrifying in there. It was so loud. People were so hyped and you could feel the wind from people’s voices traveling around when they shouted my name. And that’s one of the things when you have a fighter fighting at home. You have so much love and support.”
JOHANN DUHAUPAS
“I’m excited to be making my US debut and fighting for a heavyweight world title in the same night. This is the biggest opportunity of my career and I’m going to take advantage of it.
“Deontay is a huge competitor, but I’m coming into this fight prepared to make things very difficult for him.
“I plan on brining the title back home to France.”
JAY DEAS, Wilder’s Trainer
“It’s a day-by-day, brick-by-brick existence to be a world champion.
“It’s going to be a tough fight. He’s never been stopped before. He’s coming off the biggest win of his career against Manuel Charr. This is a huge, huge fight and it’s going to be right here in Birmingham.
“This is my challenge straight to the fans: This is where we want to be. We want to be in Alabama. We want Deontay to have his home turf in Alabama. We want to show the world what Alabama can do on international TV. We want to show them the young undercard guys coming up, and we want it all right here. That can only happen if this place is full.”
MAYOR WILLIAM BELL, Mayor of the City of Birmingham
“People from all over the country are already calling for hotel rooms. Can they get in early? This is exciting for our city.
“People were talking about the first fight, and not just around the country. They were talking about it around the world.”

HARVEY PREDICTS FIGHT TO THE FINISH WITH DIBARTOLOMEO

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Lewiston, Maine (August 21, 2015) – New England Fights (NEF), America’s number-one regional fight promotion, will hold its nineteenth mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event, “NEF XIX: HOMECOMING,” on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston, Maine.  Headlining the amateur portion of the fight card will be Josh Harvey (4-1) defending the NEF MMA Amateur Lightweight Title against Ryan Dibartolomeo(4-3).  Recently, Harvey was the guest of NEF co-owner and matchmaker Matt Peterson on the NEF Podcast.

Harvey was introduced to the mats early in life.  He started wrestling in junior high school and continued through his high school years.  He began boxing at the age of 15 and trained in the ring for the next seven years.  It was not until he attended “NEF VIII: Nations Collide” in Bangor that Harvey realized he could have a future in the sport of MMA.

“When NEF came to Bangor and I watched Ray Wood capture the title, and I remembered him from high school wrestling, that was my cue to get in on this,” said Harvey.  “I knew it was a true possibility to go somewhere in MMA.  After college, there’s nowhere for wrestlers to go.  MMA, that’s the outlet.  That’s why you see wrestlers dominating in MMA all the way to the top.”

Soon after the event, then Young’s MMA wrestling coach Mark Heathcote reached out to Harvey through Facebook to invite him to train with the team.  Harvey quickly found a home at the Bangor gym founded by Chris Young.  He joined in on the massive success the team had already found in the MMA cages of New England.

“I was greeted very warmly at Young’s,” Harvey recalled.  “Everyone was very kind over there.  Bruce (Boyington, current NEF MMA Professional Lightweight Champion) was the first person to take me, not to say under his wing, but to get together outside of the gym and we became friends.  As far as the success Young’s has had as a team, I’m not gonna say you can chalk it all up to superior coaching, but we’ve got the best around, at least in this state, possibly in New England.”

On his way to claiming the NEF MMA Amateur Lightweight Championship this past June, Harvey finished all three of his NEF opponents in a total of just over three minutes.  Harvey, however, sees his future in the sport in the featherweight division.

“I don’t train to finish them all in the first round,” said Harvey.  “That’s just how it wound up.  Maybe you’ll see me go the distance as the competition gets thicker.  That’s why I love this fight with Ryan (Dibartolomeo).  He is, I believe, ranked number-two, so this is a good way to find out where I lay in that level.  I’m not a 55er.  As far as I’m concerned, I’m a 45er that’s fighting at 55.  Best 45er?  Amateur in New England?  Yes.  The game’s gonna change when I go professional.  We’ll see where I stack up there.”

When Harvey began discussing potential opponents for “NEF XIX” with NEF matchmakers, he was very clear that he wanted the toughest opponent they could find for him.  If he wanted tough, he will get just that in Ryan Dibartolomeo.  Dibartolomeo is out of John Fain’s Team Triumph/Boston BJJ of Nashua, New Hampshire.  After dropping his first three, Dibartolomeo has won his last four fights in a row, an impressive streak that began at “NEF X” in September 2013.

“All his fights that he’s won have been by decision,” said Harvey.  “In my mind, he let the judges win those fights for him.  Fights aren’t won by judges.  Fights are won by fighters.  My prediction is it’s gonna be a finish.  I’m gonna go out there, kill or be killed.  He’s either gonna finish me or I’m gonna finish him.  That’s how it’s gonna happen.”

You can listen to the entire NEF Podcast interview atwww.NewEnglandFights.com/Podcasts/

You can follow Josh Harvey on his official Facebook fan page “hookonharvey.”  For more information on Young’s MMA, please visit their Facebook page “Young’s MMA.”

New England Fights’ next event, “NEF XIX: HOMECOMING,” takes place onSaturday, September 12, 2015 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston, Maine.  Tickets for “NEF XIX: HOMECOMING” start at just $25 and are on sale now at www.TheColisee.com or by calling the Colisée box office at 207.783.2009 x 525.  For more information on the event and fight card updates, please visit the promotion’s website at www.NewEnglandFights.com.  In addition, you can watch NEF videos at www.youtube.com/NEFMMA, follow them on Twitter @nefights and join the official Facebook group “New England Fights.”

Global Sports Streaming, a new sports network, launches it’s first live show,  “Best In Boxing.”

Boxing programming for the digital age

First “Best in Boxing” Fight Night, Friday August 28 from
Tijuana, Mexico

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Las Vegas, NV (August 21, 2015) – Best In Boxing (BIB) is a completely online based boxing program covering today’s up and coming fighters. The show was developed to fill the gap in boxing between fighters just starting out and the top boxers in the sport. BIB will broadcast more than three hours of live boxing covering from the first bout to the main event.

The first broadcast on Friday, August 28, 2015 will feature the IBU Middleweight title bout between Tony Hirsch (18-6-2, 8 KO’s) taking on Rolando Paredes (9-2-2, 8 KO’s)

The entire 11 bout card will stream live beginning at 10:30 PM ET on YouTube and will feature the likes of popular female light flyweight Kenia Enriquez (13-1); lightweight Demond Brock (9-3) as well as undefeated prospects super featherweight Jesus Trujillo and Jorge Escalante (2-0)

“Our research in boxing shows that over 80% of the fights are not broadcast and GSS is changing that,” says Armando Bareno, brainchild behind Global Sports Streaming (GSS).

Bareno has been in the boxing industry for roughly seven years and was a major force in production with promotional giant Top Rank and their online presence of streaming live content that includes major fight cards from all over the world. Bareno produced and directed Top Rank’s international broadcast segments, Pay Per View commercials and web content..

GSS will have live streams and on demand content available via computers, smart televisions and mobile devices. GSS will launch with “Best In Boxing” and will continue live sports streaming with a wide variety of sports programming, including sports that are under served by television.

GSS has embraced the future of sports programming by partnering up with YouTube, who will provide their vast infrastructure and streaming capability to deliver programming when and where viewers want to watch it.

“There is an old school way of thinking when it comes to sports. The idea that television is king is dead,” says Bareno. “The future of entertainment is Internet delivered programming.”

GSS recognizes the changes that are already underway in television and sports programming. Watching all the major players in the broadcasting industry navigate the change from standard television to on demand viewing has been a key focus for the new company.

“We plan on being in the right place to capitalize on the change in viewing habits,” says Bareno. ” elevation companies are geared for television, where we are geared for streaming and Internet delivery, giving us a big advantage when television bundling goes away.”
