A DEBUT AND A RETURN ON APRIL 29 IN LEWISTON
Lewiston, Maine (March 9, 2017) – New England Fights (NEF) presents its next mixed-martial-arts event “NEF 28: INVINCIBLE” on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine. Earlier today, the fight promotion announced the addition of a professional catchweight bout to the card. Tollison Lewis (1-5) is scheduled to face “The Dominator” Dominic Jones (0-0) at a fight weight of 150-pounds.
Lewis has been absent from the NEF cage since picking up his first MMA victory as a professional last spring. On April 29, it will be just over a year since Lewis submitted Zenon Herrera (0-5) in front of a capacity crowd in Lewiston at “NEF 22.” A two-sport athlete, Lewis has split his time in the last couple of years between the NEF cage and the NEF boxing ring where he has put together a record of 2-2. He currently represents Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) in Auburn, Maine.
“First off, I’d like to thank NEF for having me on another show,” said Lewis. “I’d like to thank my team and coaches – we are putting in lots of work preparing for this fight with Dominic. As for my opponent, he’s already looking past me. He thinks it will be a walk through. He wants an easy fight for his debut, but it’s not happening. He’s a talented guy, but I’ll have the experience, size, power, striking and BJJ. He’s a very good wrestler, but I’m not worried about being on the ground. This will be a war and I will have my hand raised at the end. Dom, let’s do it baby – let’s do the talking in the cage!”
Jones will be making his professional debut, as well as his NEF debut, on April 29. He got an early start in the martial arts, training Taekwondo with his father at six-years-old. Jones would go on to excel in wrestling during his high school days. He later entered the MMA ranks after joining First Coast Full Contact/Team Riot in his native Jacksonville, Florida. Jones put together an impressive 8-1 record as an amateur while capturing three regional titles. Since moving to New England, Jones has trained at First Class MMA in Brunswick, Maine.

I’m training very hard for this bout and I want to show the Maine crowd and NEF who I am! I’m not looking back at the past on what I’ve done as amateur – this is the future and it’s the next level that I have my eyes on.”

2016 US Olympian Conwell excited to join Four State Franchise

Miami, OK (March 8, 2017) – 2016 US Olympian Charles Conwell is the newest member of Holden Productions’ wildly popular Four State Franchise.
A recent signee of Holden Productions and DiBella Entertainment, the Cleveland, OH native joins Trey Lippe-Morrison, Ivan Baranchyk, Dillon Cook, Jesse Cook and Jarrett Rouse as a member of the team. A middleweight in the amateurs who has his sights set on working his way down to the welterweight division, Conwell’s known as an heavy-handed action fighter. The Four State Franchise, which regularly fights at the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, OK in front of standing room only crowds, helped bring hope to a city currently facing economic struggles.
Conwell was introduced earlier today during an emotional press conference at the Buffalo Run which saw his father, Charles Sr., cry tears of joy. An honor student in high school who won 11 national champions as an amateur boxer, Conwell was named Ohio’s 2016 Amateur Athlete of the Year. He plans to become an adopted son among the locals like his aforementioned stablemate Baranchyk, who he’s seen fight at the Buffalo Run on ShoBox.
“Becoming a member of the Four State Franchise and getting the fans in my corner means everything to me,” said Conwell. “It motivates me to train harder and give the fans great fights. (Holden and DiBella being able to make me a member of) The Four State Franchise is something that helped me make my decision (on who’d promote me as a professional) and I look forward to becoming a fan favorite in Miami, OK.
Holden, a promoter for more than 20 years, considers Conwell one of his most exciting signees and envisions a bright future for his newest prospect.

Tri-Star Boxing returns to Nashville March 17!
Nashville, TN (March 8, 2017) – Professional Boxing returns to the Music City when Tri-Star Boxing presents “St Paddy’s Day Fights at the Fairgrounds” Friday, March 17 at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds Sports Arena in Nashville, TN.

Headlining this exciting evening of action is a six round super featherweight bout between Hendersonville, TN’s Austin “The Dream” Dulay and iron-chinned Micah Branch of Cincinnati, OH. A multi-time champion as an amateur, the 21-year-old Dulay is a perfect 8-0 with 6 wins by knockout and is building a reputation as a solid prospect.
A 21 fight veteran, Branch has never been stopped and fought a number of unbeaten foes including Mel Crossty, Nate Green, Titus Williams, Brandon Williams, Dimash Niyazov and Derrick Murray.
The co-feature pits Nashville-based Guatemalan Edwin Reyes against Lockhart, TX’s Richard Hernandez in an eight round junior flyweight contest. The heavy-handed Reyes is 5-2-2 and all of his wins are by way of knockout. Hernandez, 4-8-1, looks for his third straight victory and is fighting for the first time in Tennessee.
Super middleweight knockout artist Sena Agbeko, 15-1 (15 KO’s), returns from a 3 year layoff to challenge tough veteran Timothy Hall. Originally from Ghana but now living in Nashville, Agbeko was featured as part of ESPN’s Boxcino Tournament in 2014. During his time away from the ring, Agbeko’s sparred with a number of notable fighters while also making himself a name locally by working as a trainer.
The Atlanta, GA based Hall’s gone the distance with a number of quality fighters including former world champion Jeff Lacy, Juan Ubaldo Cabrera, Morgan Fitch, Immanuwel Aleem and 2008 Olympian Lenin Castillo among others.
The talent-laden undercard also features unbeatens Jovann Barnes, Winfred Harris and Mohamed Adam, cruiserweight spoiler Mike Bissett and heavyweight Rodricka Ray all in separate bouts.

RYAN GRAB NAMED SENIOR DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS & ATHLETE STRATEGY FOR BELLATOR
LOS ANGELES – Bellator President Scott Coker announced today that Ryan Grab has been named Senior Director of Communications and Athlete Strategy. Grab, who most recently served as the Director of Communications for Phoenix International Raceway, a member of the Daytona, Fla.-based ISC family of racetracks, will oversee all communications and media relations for Bellator MMA and Kickboxing effective immediately.
“We are pleased to welcome Ryan to our staff,” said Coker. “His years of experience in the MMA industry will have an immediate impact on our team at Bellator and we look forward to him assisting with the overall growth of the organization.”
Prior to his time with Phoenix International Raceway, Grab spent over five years with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in Las Vegas. In addition to PR, Grab also held a role within the organization’s Athlete Development department where he was responsible for organizing and programming educational summits for active athletes, as well as promoting health and wellness initiatives within the sport.

KNOCKOUT ARTIST UP NEXT FOR HARVEY AT NEF 28
Lewiston, Maine (March 8, 2017) – New England Fights (NEF) presents its next mixed-martial-arts event “NEF 28: INVINCIBLE” on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine. Earlier today, the fight promotion announced the addition of a professional featherweight bout to the card. Josh “Hook On” Harvey (3-0) will meet Eric “Money” Mendiola (2-1) at a fight weight of 145-pounds.
Harvey, the former NEF amateur division lightweight champion, is undefeated to date since making his professional debut last spring. With a solid amateur boxing background, as well as the pedigree of a two-time Maine state wrestling champion, matchmakers have had difficulty in finding opponents willing to step into the cage with him. The Young’s MMA prospect has displayed both devastating knockout power and slick submission skills throughout his career thus far. Most recently, Harvey submitted Richie Collingham (3-4) last month at “NEF 27.”
“‘Money’ and I are the type of fight that takes the spotlight, and I know it’s one that people will be talking about for a long time,” remarked Harvey on the upcoming fight. “I’m prepared for war in this kill-or-be-killed contest.”
Mendiola, a product of Mohawk Valley MMA in the Utica, New York area, will make his first appearance in the NEF cage on April 29, but he is far from a newcomer to the sport of MMA. He had more than twenty amateur fights prior to turning pro in 2015. Mendiola has built a reputation as a knockout artist. After numerous knockout finishes in the amateur ranks, Mendiola put the lights out for his first two pro opponents, both in under a minute. He will look to rebound from his first loss as a pro last fall.
“I’m a different kind of focused for this fight, mentally and physically,” stated Mendiola when reached for comment. “Harvey looks like a tough kid with a good record, and I’m up for the challenge. I have a bad taste in my mouth from a couple of months ago, and I’m coming to lay it all on the line and showcase all of my skills. Let’s get to it!”
