Jim “J.R.” Ross Kaj Al Bernstein called the action from ringside on CBSaj Sportoj Reto in North America and internationally via ESPN.

Steve Claggett (L) upset Emmanuel Robles
Claggett, fighting out of Calgary, Kanado, dropped down one weight class. Coming off a disputed 10-round decision loss to Chris van Heerden this past April, also at the Downtown Las Vegas Event Center, Claggett won a 10-round majority decision (98-92, 98-92, 94-96)#?I-nokte for the vacant North American Boxing Association (NABA) welterweight title. His expert body work allowed him to dictate the pace of the boxing match.
This is a long time coming, Claggett admitted. “I took the loss (#Kontra?. van Heerden) in stride, vowing to go back to the gym and make changes. I went down to 140 (Lbs.) and it was the right decision. I’m pli forta. I I really worked hard.
I landed a couple of shots that hurt him noticeably. He’s tough. Robles is a champion in the making. I have a lot of respect for him. This is my life. It (his loss to van Heerden) fueled me. The fire’s back in me. I love fighting in Las Vegas.
Neeco “The Rooster” Macias (L) stole the show to became a rising star
The co-feature showcased a pair undefeated junior middleweights and from the opening bell it was a real firefight. Macias forced RolandoRola” Garza (9-1, 6 KOs), a 3-time Mexican National amateur champion, to fight his fight. Macia’s aggressive style, always coming forward, throwing punches from every conceivable angle, ruled the coop. Garza got caught up in the action and paid for it, although the score after was 39-37, 39-37 for Macias, 39-37 for Garza, entering the fifth and final round. Macia’s constant pressure controlled the action, wearing down Garza, and paid dividends as he dropped Garza in the fifth. arbitraciisto Jay Nady had seen enough, halting the fight at that point as much due to the damage Garza had suffered in the first four rounds as the knockdown.
A rising star was born in Macia, who captured the vacant World Boxing Association (WBC) United States junior middleweight championship. “It’s conditioning, a lot of work,” Macias explained the reason for his non-stop action before crowing loudly in the ring. “I stuck to the game plan. I knew he’d come to fight with a lot of skill to out-box me and get points. My game plan was throw a lot of upper cuts and punches from every angle. It was all about throwing combinations.
He had a lot pf power, so I used defense to block punches. In the last round, I put punches together. I think the fight was stopped a little early and he could have kept going, but I didn’t see what he saw, and the referee was looking out for the fighters so we can fight another day.
Jeremy Nichols remained undefeated
In the television opener, flashy Las Vegas welterweight Jeremy “J-Ekbrilo” Nichols (6-0, 2 KOs) kept rolling, winning a 4-round unanimous decision over Steve Belmontes (2-1, O KOs). Nichols outworked his opponent, consistently beating Belmontes to the punch with his superior quickness.
I think it could have been a little flashier,” Nichols admitted. “But give it up to my opponent, he came to fight. With more than 100 Amatoraj bataloj, he could take a punch but he kept coming. My goal was to take everything from him and make him fight my fight. His hands were a little slower and he took a lot of good body shots and counters.
Marina Ramirez (R) was a crowd pleaser
Idaho junior flyweight Marina “Roka” Ramirez (40-36, 40-36, 40-36) pitched a 4-round shutout, Venkanta RachelThe Black WidowSazoff (0-2) per dudekopo de 40-36 across the board. “I landed a lot of shots,” Ramirez noted. “I respect her, she was tough. The game plan worked and we got the win.
Randy Moreno (L) keeps improving
Twenty-year-old Randy Moreno (4-0, 3 KOs) turned in the best performance of his young career, stopping Australian junior lightweight “12” Gaige Ireland (2-1-2, 2 KOs) En la tria rondo. Moreno fights with the poise of a much older fighter, effectively counter punching from the opening bell. “Ĝi sentas grandan,” Moreno commented. “I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t forGil Martinez (head trainer). He is notorious for his training methods and it’s paid off. I’ve been with him 10 Jaroj. Fighting here at home means the world to me.
Ismail Muwendo (L) restis nevenkita
Undefeated lightweight prospect IsmailSharp ShooterMuwendo, fighting out of Minneapolis by way of his native Uganda, Plibonigita al 18-0 (12 KOs), taking a one-sided six-round unanimous decision from Eliseo Cruz (9-2-1, 6 KOs). “I think I did well, I was out of the ring a long time,” Muwendo commented. He’s a tough guy who was ready.
Max Ornelas (R) opened the show in grand style
Las Vegas favorite MaxBaby Face AssassinOrnelas (4-0, 2 KOs) remained unbeaten by way of a 4-round unanimous decision over Jonathan “Johnny BoyQuiorz (6-5, 1 KO). “I was confident (of winning the decision,” the 18-year-old Ornelas said. “I was out-boxing him. I love fighting here. I have a lot of support from family and friends; I’m motivated when I hear them.

Frank Galarza Camp Notes Once-Beaten Contender Battles Former World Champion Ishe Smith in Main Event of Premier Boxing Champions: The Next Round on Bounce TV

Vendredo, Sept. 16 From The Chelsea inside
La Kosmopolita de Las Vegas – 9 P.M. ET/6 p.m.PT
LASa VEGAS (Sept. 6, 2016) – Brooklyn-born contender Frank “Fifama” Galarza has been the embodiment of a redemption story his whole life and he will look to keep that theme going when he returns from his first pro loss to take on former world champion Ishe “Sukero Shay” Smith En la #?efa evento de Superegaj Boksaj #?ampiono: The Next Round on Bounce TV Vendredo, Sept. 16 De The Chelsea inside La Kosmopolita de Las Vegas.
Televised coverage begins on Bounce TV at 9 P.M. ET/6 P.M. PT and features a super welterweight showdown between Domonique Dolton (17-0-1, 9 KOs)Kaj Justin DeLoach (15-1, 8 KOs).
Biletoj por la viva evento, which is promoted by Mayweather Promotions, Komenco ĉe $29 Kaj estas sur vendo nun. Tickets areavailable online at: www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com or through Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000 Kaj Www.ticketmaster.com.
After being defeated by unbeaten Jarret Hurd in November 2015, Galarza is determined to reclaim his spot as a contender in the 154-pound division. Training out of the Flatbush Cops and Kids Boxing Gym in Brooklyn with longtime trainer Nirmal Lorick, Galarza has his sights set on the top of the super welterweight division.
Here is what Galarza had to say about training camp, his main event showdown, the 154-pound division and more:
What kind of problems does Ishe Smith propose and what does a victory over him do for you?
FG: I don’t anticipate having any problems with Ishe. I spar the best guys in the world and with guys who have a lot more experience than I do. I’m going to go in, do my job and make adjustments as needed.
Beating Ishe puts me exactly where I need to be. I took my first loss in Las Vegas and I wasn’t on my A-game. Fighting Ishe puts me right back after the loss. I constantly put myself to the test with top guys. Ishe is someone in my path who at this point, is in my way.
What’s your mentality following the loss in your last fight?
FG:I have lost so much in my life, so I see this loss as just a number. Boxing has everyone fooled that we need to be undefeated to be a top contender or to be great. Some of the greatest fighters have suffered losses. I am looking to be legendary and continue to fight great guys. I’m going to put my record on the line and challenge myself.
I don’t have a deep boxing background, so I’m learning on the job. I am able to overcome every obstacle. This fight isn’t about the money, this fight and my career is for me. I want to challenge myself.
Who do you see as the top fighters in the 154-pound division?
FG: The Charlo Brothers, Demetrio Andrade, Julian Williams and Erislandy Lara are the top of the division in my mind. There are a lot of good fighters in this division. At this point now, the other guys need to go, and that’s where I come into play. Someone like Ishe is an older guy and he needs to give it up and get out of the way for hungry guys like me and the rest of us. People want to see guys like us.
Who would you like to matchup with, if you can defeat Ishe Smith?
FG: I’ll face anybody. I’m not trying to fluff my record. I come off a tough loss and I’m looking to beat a former world champion. Give me the best fight and the top guys. Give me one of the Charlo brothers and I’ll fight for one of their titles. Put me in with any of these guys and I will put them to the test, if not beat them.
It’s a drive I have in me, especially lately, where I feel like I’ve been overlooked. It upsets me to be underestimated. I never turn down a fight. I have to be fearless in order to make it where I need to go. I am not a mediocre fighter. There’s a reason they call me the ‘Brooklyn Rocky.I’ve been through adversity and Ishe is in for a rude awakening. The boxing industry has me completely underestimated and at the end of the day, may the best man win.
Talk about your work outside of the ring and how you strive to inspire kids who grew up in similar situations to yourself:
FG: I have a non-profit called Youth Fighting Forward. I teach them that no matter what you go through, you can be whoever you want to be I came from nothing and I lost my parents at a young age. I don’t use that as an excuse. I refuse to be a statistic. I want to give the kids back that inspiration.
Whatever it is you love to do; you are more than capable of doing it. It is in your hands to be a success story. You are not where you came from. We have the ability to change lives. My focus is to help kids growing up who are surrounded by negativity to see a positive. I put my body to the limits and when I don’t want to work out, I push through that. I want to show the kids that they have to have discipline to get through it and one day, I will be a world champion.

Sept. 9Th has the potential to be the most explosive top-to-bottom card in the already praised 2016 “Knokaŭta Nokto ĉe la D” Serioj, which consistently showcases #Morga???stars in highly competitive, compelling match-ups.
“Knokaŭta Nokto ĉe la D’ is truly establishing itself in Downtown Las Vegas as a premier event for boxing fans in the community and beyond,” Dirita Derek Stevens, Owner and CEO of the D Las Vegas and DLVEC. “From hometown heavy-hitters to up-and-coming amateur fighters, the second half of this series will bring unforgettable, action-packed shows that can’t be missed.
A former World Boxing Council (WBC) Latino super lightweight champion, as well as a 2008 National PAL gold medalist. I am excited to showcase my skills once again as the main event on a Roy Jones Jr. Boxing Promotions card,” Robles dirita. “Both of my promoters, RJJ & Bobby D, are presenting me with such an incredible opportunity to fight for the Regional NABA Title belt. My opponent is in for the boxing lesson of his life. I know Claggett will be a strong contender and brings a power punch to the table. He is going to be challenging, the toughest opponent I’ve had to face thus far in my boxing career, but I am ready to show my opponent and his team the skills that will help me capture the title and bring it home to RJJ and my team.
It’s an honor to display my superior boxing skills for Roy Jones Jr. on CBS Sports Network and I am humbled that Las Vegas has accepted me with such open arms. Defeating Claggett will put me on the map as a contender for the top 140-pounders in the world such as (Adrien) Broner, (Terence)Crawford & (Viktoro) Postal.
The 27-year-old Claggett (23-4-1, 16 KOs) needs to bounce back from a disputed 10-round loss by majority decision the Chris van Heerden in his last fight this past April, also at the DLVEC, to revitalize his career. Claggett is taking a risk by dropping down one weight class in order to challenge junior welterweight Robles.

This fight means everything to me,” Claggett explained. It is a make or break fight for my career and I have a chance to re-enter the boxing world at 140 Funtoj, which is a weight that I believe I should have been fighting at a little while ago. I have a new trainer for the first timea new teamand I am looking forward to showing fans a new fighter. A victory will stamp my name as a true world champion contender. I understand my position and I know that I am on the ‘Bside, but I have been in this position many times before. I have a lot of experience in the sport of boxing and it has finally all come together for me. This will be my best fight. My focus and training will show on fight night.

LASa VEGAS (Junio 10, 2016) – The heat was on in Las Vegas #?I-nokte, temperature-wise as well as the action inside the ring, for the third installment of “Knokaŭta Nokto ĉe la D” Serioj, which aired live on CBSaj Sportoj Reto from the outdoorUrbocentro Las Vegas Eventa Centro (DLVEC) Je 90+ degree conditions before another capacity crowd.
An old-time Las Vegas grudge match turned into a highly entertaining boxing war as WBC United States (USNBC) Malpeza #?ampiono DemondBody ShotBrock(12-3-1, 4 KOs) won a hard fought 10-round decision over former USNBC 135-pound titlist and previously unbeaten challenger ChuyHurrican” Gutierrez (14-1-1, 4 KOs).
(L-R) – Chuy Gutierrez and Demond Brock put on a real show
La “Knokaŭta Nokto ĉe la D” Serioj, Prezentita de La D Las Vegasand DLVEC, estas promociita de Roy Jones Jr.. (RJJ) Boksanta Antaŭenigojn.
What a night we had downtown,” Dirita Derek Stevens, Owner and CEO of the D Las Vegas and DLVEC. “I want to thank the Nevada Athletic Commission for allowing us to do these fights outdoors. I want to shout out to Chuy and Brock,,,..what fighters! Let’s keep this going downtown.
Brock, fighting out of New Orleans, learned to box in Louisiana State Penitentiary, where he served nearly 15 Jaroj, sentenced as an adult at 15 for armed robbery. The determined lightweight controlled the pace and consistently beat hometown favorite Gutierrez to the punch all night. Gutierrez, a tough Mexican who lives in Las Vegas, showed the heart of a champion, albeit in a losing effort to a fresher Brock.
Brock (R) nails Gutierrez with right
I think I put on a great performance,” Brock commented after the fight. “I came out to give my best effort. We trained to fight inside to fight Chuy, not box, to make him uncomfortable in a fight he’s not used to. I won this fight on the inside. No backing up for 10 hard rounds. We prepared that way because we knew Chuy was going to come in throwing shots. But he’d never fought anybody of my caliber. I was looking to finish him but I didn’t want to get careless.
In a battle of unbeaten junior middleweight, Mexican invader RolandoRola” Garza (9-0, 6 KOs) and U.S. Marine Corps veteran ErasmoThe Reckoning” Garcia (5-1-1, 3 KOs) put on a show in the televised co-feature. All they really needed was a phone booth as the two warriors pounded each other from the opening bell, although Garza got the much better of the action for the first four rounds, buzzing Garcia at the end of the fourth. The game Garcia came back in the fifth, despite suffering a lot of damage from a relentless attack by Garza, who simply outclassed his overmatched opponent with his technical boxing skills. Garza, who was deducted a point for throwing a low blow in the fifth round, won a unanimous 6-round decision in a firefight.
We worked the body and, thank God, gajnis la batalon,” Garza noted. “He’s a tough, unbeaten guy. We came here and did it. Viva Las Vegas!”
Garza (L) was too much for Garcia
In the television opener, Las Vegas welterweight prospect Jeremy “J-Ekbrilo” Nichols (5-0. 2 KOs) dominated previously unbeaten Adam Vasquez (5-1-1). The flashy Nichols dropped Vasquez twice in the final round to win a 4-round unanimous decision by scores of 40-34 three times.
Nichols decked Vasquez twice
Nichols won his third fight in the last three months, “I can go next week,” Nichols said after the fight. “He was tall fighter who was undefeated. He didn’t come here to lose. I take my hat off to him because I hit him with some great shots. He is a tough guy with a big heart. I had to do the Ali Shuffle in the first round because he was my favorite fighter.
Los Angeles heavyweight JohnathanJohnnieRice (4-1, 2 KOs), a former Winthrop College (NC) basketball player, upset 4-time Mexican National amateur champion Edgar “El Chato” Ramirez (1-1, 1 KO), pitching a shutout for a unanimous 4-round decision.

Adding fuel to the fire is the fact both fighters train in Las Vegas and have growing fan-bases.
