Sampson Lewkowicz proudly announces that budding superstar, and WBC World Super Middleweight Champion, David “Червено знаме / Red Flag” Benavidez has renewed his exclusive Sampson Boxing promotional agreement.
20-year-old Benavidez (19-0, 17 Нокаута), became the youngest super middleweight world champion in boxing history by winning a split decision over Romania’s Ronald Gavril last September. The Phoenix-based slugger says he’s happy to continue his promotional relationship with Lewkowicz.
“Sampson is a great promoter and he’s done a lot for me,” said Benavidez. “He’s always treated me and my team with respect and I was eager to re-sign with him. I can’t wait to defend my title against the best and become the great fighter I am with Sampson on my team.”
Father, co-manager and trainer Jose Benavidez says signing with Sampson was an easy decision for Team Benavidez.
“We are all really happy and excited,” той каза. “We started with Sampson and he’s done a tremendous job. We are super satisfied with what he’s done and where we are at. We didn’t even think twice about it. I think when this contract ends, we’ll sign another one with him.”

Isamary Aquino Brings Home Bronze Medal

Ortiz gold medal closes out a strong showing from the young American delegation. Team USA’s other medal, a bronze, was won yesterday by Isamary Aquino of Universal City, Texas.
“I am extremely proud of my performance at my first international tournament,” said Aquino following her medal ceremony. “It was an honor to be able to represent Team USA and bring home a world championship medal.”

The fight was a war that thrilled the crowd at the Claridge. Both guys were rocked several times throughout the contest.
The punches started to get to Halili as he was docked points in rounds six and seven for spitting out his mouthpiece. He spit put the mouth-guard one more time in round eight, and referee Eric Dali called off the bout at 1:34.

Serrano of Philadelphia is now 24-4. Halili is now 10-1.

“My coach was telling me to pick it up throughout the fight,” каза Александър. “The rust got to me a little bit. I know that I can be more active. I really started to feel warmed up later in the fight. I know that I can do way better but I was happy to have this experience.”

Both fighters took their time getting started in round one before Grayton broke through in round two and stunned Cruz against the ropes late in the round. Cruz bounced back in round three landing a right hand late in the third round that forced Grayton to tie up and eventually tackle Cruz to the canvas in order to survive the round.
Cruz suffered his first cut of the fight during the round three exchange but fought through the wound under his right eye and dropped Grayton with a jab early in round six to score a crucial knockdown. The intensity of the fight continued into the eighth round when Grayton began to tee-off on Cruz as blood poured from a second cut, this one above Cruz’s right eye.
The back and forth battle continued until the final bell, with both men throwing wildly as the referee attempted to break up the action. След 10 rounds all three judges saw the fight in favor of Cruz by the score of 96-93.

I do believe it will be special and open a tot of opportunities to fight bigger names once I win this fight. I will miss everyone cheering my name like they do at home. I think I’ll be traveling more to fight bigger names to work my way up the ladder until I’m at the top.
