WORCESTER, Masse. (Juin 10, 2021) – Unbeaten lightweight prospect Jamaine «Le technicien» Ortiz (14-0-1, 8 KOs) is a visionary, clearly seeing the day he becomes the first Worcester (MA) native to become a World boxing champion, as well as headlining a show at home in front of thousands of his growing legend of fans, et beaucoup plus.

“I’ve headlined before, at the Palladium, but fighting at home in front of 5,000 or more fans on television would be great,” reigning WBC United States Silver lightweight champion Ortiz concluded. “That’s something I expect as the People’s Champion. I’ve put in the work and built a growing fanbase, which will translate into future ticket sales. I think it may take me fighting on TV in Las Vegas or Madison Square Garden for casual fight fans in Worcester to get onboard.”

Last October in Reno, Nevada, Castaneda stoppedStan Martyniouk (20-3) au sixième tour, after which he was installed by the World Boxing Organization as its No. 15 rated super lightweight in the world.

POUR DIFFUSION IMMÉDIATE: Orono, Maine (Février 19, 2020) - Combats Nouvelle-Angleterre (NEF) présentera ses prochains-arts martiaux mixtes (MMA) au Collins Center for the Arts sur le campus phare de l’Université du Maine, Orono. L'événement, intitulé « NEF 43: Déchaînement,» Aura lieu le samedi, Avril 18, 2020, avec une cloche de temps 7 pm EDT.Zac « Rocky » Richard(6-2-1) doit défendre le titre amateur des poids légers NEF ce soir-là contre le défi deDevin Corson(3-1).  Ils se rencontreront à la limite du championnat léger de 155 livres dans un combat prévu pour cinq tours de trois minutes.

Richard a remporté le championnat alors vacant en novembre dernier à Portland, Maine avec une victoire par décision unanime sur «Magic» Mike Murray (3-2).  Il n'est pas étranger aux titres, après avoir remporté une lutte de championnat de l'État du Maine pour le lycée Massabesic de Waterboro en 2015. SHREVEPORT, La. – January 31, 2020 - After his fourth consecutive victory in a little more than 12 months onShoBox: La Nouvelle Génération, Ruben Villa is ready to graduate from the 19-year prospect series.


 
The undefeated featherweight Villa put on a boxing clinic in a dominating unanimous decision win over Alexei Collado. The judges scored the fight 99-91 and 98-92 twice in the main event Friday night from George’s Pond at Hirsch Coliseum in Shreveport, Le.


 
The 22-year-old Salinas, Calif., native Villa (18-0, 5 KOs), who entered the ring paying tribute to the late Kobe Bryant by wearing his No. 8 Lakers jersey into the ring, called his performance “solid” against a “tough and aggressive fighter.”


 
“He was challenging throughout the fight,” said Villa. “I feel like I put on a good show. He was a big knockout puncher and he’s no pushover. He brought out the best in me.”


 
Villa, who was the was also the 2014 et 2016 Champion National Golden Gloves, est actuellement classé Non. 5 à 126 pounds by the WBO and No. 13 par le WBC. He said after the fight he’s ready for the best his division has to offer.

ShoBox analyst Steve Farhood had the fight scored 77-75 Segawa, while Barry Tompkins and Raul Marquez both saw it 78-74 in favor of Segawa.


 
«J'ai gagné le combat,” said Segawa, who took the fight on just four days’ notice. “I maintained him and his aggressiveness. I came up to his weight and dictated the action. I staggered him a couple of times and he was not touching me.”


 
Segawa earned the better stats in nearly every category. Hamazaryan was more active (57.5 punches per round to Segawa’s 53.6) but Segawa outlanded him 130-100 global, 42-14 coups et 88-86 power and was more accurate in all phases (30%-22% global, 28%-8% jabs, 31.3%-31.1% puissance). Segawa even led 25-22 in body connects


 
Segawa, 28, moved to Silver Spring, Maryland, two years ago and is originally from Kampala, Ouganda. He has won six times against previously undefeated opponents with his two losses also to undefeated fighters.


 
Hamazaryan, who was making his thirdShoBox apparence, returned to the ring after 16 months as he returned to his native Armenia to get his physical education degree.

WORCESTER, Masse. (Janvier 6, 2020) – Undefeated World Boxing Council (WBC) Champion du monde des poids légers de la jeunesseJamaine «Le technicien» Ortiz (12-0, 6 KOs) isn’t a typical professional boxer whose life entirely revolves in and around the “Sweet Science.”

The 23-year-old Ortiz is also a licensed carpenter with diverse interests ranging from engineering and psychology to philosophy, and his ultimate post-boxing career aspiration is to attend medical school. First, bien que, Ortiz’ goal is to become world champion, which would be a first for a native of Worcester, Massachusetts.

“I was always fascinated by architecture, starting with my mother’s house, and that spun off to engineering,” Ortiz explained. “I wanted to learn how to build to better understand and became a carpenter after graduating from high school. I’m not worried about getting hurt at work. I do work with my hands, but I’m in the union and everything is safe, and I’m very careful.

“Medical school is my dream. I want to help people working with cells, blood and muscle tissues, understanding the body. I’m not sure if I’ll do research or be working with patients, maybe in internal medicine, but not in traditional medicine. I’m interested in natural, holistic medicine, and working for the benefit of people.”

Ortiz, who started boxing at the age of six, will return to the ring in early 2020 pour, most likely, his final WBC Youth World title fight, because this title is for fighters 23 or younger, and Jamaine turns 24 on April 28.

“I’m proud to be the WBC World lightweight champion, but I’ll have to give it up in April when I turn 24.,” Ortiz remarked. “I’ll win bigger titles as I get older. This has been good for now, but I’m going on to bigger and better things. I’m confident that I’ll be world champion in 2021 and I want to be a multiple wight-class world champion before I retire.”

Ortiz recently gained even more confidence whenTeofimo Lopez (15-0, 12 KOs) captured the International Boxing Federation (IBF) World lightweight championship, assommant le champion en titreRichard Commey in the second round this past December.

Haney (23-0 15 KOs) a été élevé au champion complet lors de la récente Convention WBC à Cancun, Mexique, après sa performance dominante contre Zaur Abdullaev à New York en Septembre où il vaincu le Russe invaincu en quatre tours cloquage pour forcer Abdullaev à la retraite, et la terre « The Dream’ la bande intermédiaire à 135lbs.

SAN ANTONIO, TX (Août 5, 2019) – Samedi dernier au Sanctuaire Alzafar à San Antonio, TX, léger prétendante Femme, Selina “Reine aztèque” Quartiers pour améliorer (6-1, 3 KOs) après avoir éliminé Nina Gallegos avec un coup de corps vicieux juste 42 dans une seconde tour. Promotions suprême de boxe a été le promoteur.

“Il était beau de voir les fans de San Antoinio sortent et soutiennent notre événement de boxe hier soir. Je voulais faire une déclaration avec une performance de knock-out, et j'eu la chance de le livrer. La communauté de la boxe et les fans à San Antonio sont incroyables. J'espère que nous pourrons continuer à apporter plus de spectacles de boxe à notre grande ville.”

Quartiers, le champion des poids légers NABF cherche à se remettre sur piste de titre mondial.

“Mon objectif est maintenant l'atterrissage d'un grand combat avec un combattant de haut dans le super poids plume ou division des poids légers,” Barrios a continué. “Mon manager travaille sur un certain nombre de choses et mon prochain combat sera annoncé très bientôt, je l'espère contre un grand nom.”

“Nous avons des plans pour Selina d'être dans un grand combat quelque temps en 2020,” dit Kerry Dangle, Quartiers’ co-manager. “Je pense qu'elle sera mieux adaptée si nous pouvons la garder occupés, peut-être un plus tune up combat avant son étape à nouveau.”

“Selina est prêt à aller sur une course agréable.” dit Colin Campbell, Quartiers’ co-manager. “Elle a vraiment intensifié son jeu au camp d'entraînement et il a payé. Elle sera dans un grand combat très bientôt.”

POUR DIFFUSION IMMÉDIATE: Lewiston, Maine (Mai 22, 2019) - Combats Nouvelle-Angleterre (NEF) returns to the Androscoggin Bank Colisee on Saturday, Juin 22 avec son prochain événement d'arts martiaux mixtes, “NEF 39: ALL-AMERICAN.” Plus tôt aujourd'hui,, the fight promotion announced the addition of an amateur title fight to the card. Carlton Charles (3-2) fera face Jordan Norman (2-1) for the vacant amateur middleweight belt.

Prior to entering the MMA ranks, Carlton Charles made his mark on the football field. He played for Windham High School in Windham, Maine and later led the team to a Class A title as an assistant coach. Charles went on to play fullback for the University of Maine Black Bears. He made his NEF debut in the summer of 2017 with a 23-second knockout win. He would top that performance with a 12-second knockout victory in February 2018. After an unsuccessful attempt at capturing the amateur welterweight title against Duncan Smith (5-3) Juin dernier, Charles returned to the cage one month ago in New Hampshire and picked up yet another first-round knockout win.

“Comme toujours, I feel blessed and very grateful for the opportunity to fight for the belt,” a déclaré Charles.  “I know Jordan has come a long way in this sport and is always training hard and improving. I will be looking to not be caught by one of those big meat hooks that he has for hands. He’s a big powerful guy, and I’m going to be training hard as always to be able to go out and perform to my best ability. I know my coaches will have me ready for this one! have no doubt in my mind the fans will be in for a real treat with this one.”

Jordan Norman has indeed come a long way since his NEF debut last June. He lost that evening via first-round knockout, but Norman would come firing back in his next two bouts. He won a split decision over John Assam (0-1) l'automne dernier, and just last month finished Greg Ishihara (0-1) in the second round. Norman represents the Bad Little Falls Dojo.

“I’m honored for the opportunity to get into the NEF cage and compete for the amateur title against someone like Carlton,” exclaimed Norman. “He and I will put on one hell of a show for the Lewiston crowd. Both of us come to fight and it won’t be any different on June 22nd. I have nothing but respect for him and his team. I’m excited for the task at hand and scrapping it out for the middleweight title.”

The middleweight title fight between Charles and Norman is the fourth already announced for the “NEF 39” card. Josh “Hook On” Harvey (6-0-1) is scheduled to defend the professional featherweight title against Jordan Downey (5-4), while Nate Boucher (4-3) will square off with Robert Presley (5-4) for the vacant amateur men’s flyweight belt, and undefeated Glory Watson (4-0) takes on Caree Hill (4-1) to crown NEF’s first amateur women’s flyweight champion. Also announced for the card, Jesse “Le Viking” Erickson (9-7) faces Lewis Corapi (8-5) in a professional lightweight bout.
