One of only 23 female world champions from Japan, The 35-year-old Yoshida is only the sixth from her country to capture world titles in two or more divisions. She captured the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Super Flyweight crown twice in 2019 et 2021.

Gerula (19-20-3, 3 KOs) is a veteran Canadian boxer who is a former World Boxing Council Super Featherweight World Champion. She has fought in nine world championship matches and her opponents’ list is a virtual Who’s Who of women’s boxing: Amanda Serrano, Ma. St. Jean, Kathy Collins, Jaime Clampitt, Jennifer Han, Maureen Shea, and Jelena Mrdjenovich, who Gerula defeated to capture her world title.

LAVAL, Québec, Canada (Mars 16, 2023) — Kim Clavel de Montréal (16-0-1, 3KO) reviendra sur le ring pour affronter Naomi “Le dernier jour” Arellano Reyes (9-2-0, 5KO), de Los Angeles, pour le Conseil mondial de boxe vacant (WBC) Championnat international des poids mouches en avril 28, à la Place Bell à Laval. Le titre vacant des poids mouches internationaux WBC sera en jeu, comme l'a confirmé la WBC. Nous avons également demandé des sanctions pour les titres IBF Inter-Continental et WBO Inter-Continental de la division.. Ce sera le premier combat pour Clavel, 32, depuis l'incroyable clash de janvier dernier 13 contre l'Association mondiale de boxe (WBA) championne du monde Yesica Nery Plata (29-2-0, 3KO), que la populaire canadienne a perdu par décision lors de sa première défense du titre WBC.

Originaire de Nayarit, Mexique, Reyes vit et s'entraîne maintenant à Los Angeles, Californie. Reyes, 28 ans, est réputée pour son pouvoir comme en témoigne son 5 victoires à élimination directe à ce jour. Sa victoire la plus notable a été contre l'ancienne multiple championne du monde Carina Moreno (25-7-0, 6KO) en 2020. Lors de sa dernière sortie en octobre dernier, Reyes a perdu par décision face à Gabriela Fundura (8-0-0, 4KO) pour le titre WBC Latino poids mouche dans un événement PBC diffusé sur Showtime.
Clavel et Reyes devaient s'affronter en août 2021 au Stade IGA, mais ce dernier a dû se retirer en raison des restrictions sanitaires pour entrer au Canada, et elle a été remplacée par Maria Vargas (14-4-1, 1KO).
