ATLANTIC CITY BOXING HALL OF FAME ANUNCIA LA SEVA CLASSE DE 2019!!!!

Atlantic City, N.J. – Novembre 19, 2018 – El Saló de la Fama de la Boxa d'Atlantic City (ACBHOF) ha anunciat la seva 2019 Classe d'Inducció. El cap de setmana d'Inducció tindrà lloc a The Claridge, un hotel Radisson situat a Park Place & Passeig marítim a Atlantic City, Nova Jersey al juny 21 – 23, 2019.
“Estem molt emocionats amb la classe de 2019 i tenim moltes ganes de retre homenatge als nous incorporats a Atlantic City en el nostre tercer cap de setmana d'inducció anual el proper juny” va dir el president i fundador de l'ACBHOF Ray McCline.

Bernard Hopkins serà inclòs al seu primer Saló de la Fama com a part de la tercera classe anual que inclourà un total de 19 incorporats.

És un gran honor i estic agraït al Saló de la Fama de la Boxa d'Atlantic City per fer-ho possible,” Hopkins va dir en un novembre 16 Entrevista de RingTV amb Joseph Santoliquito.

La 3a cerimònia anual d'Inducció & Celebration Weekend homenatjarà algunes de les figures més emblemàtiques del món de l'esport de la boxa: Butch Lewis, Nigel Collins, Anglès “Bouie” Fisher i el president del Saló de la Fama de la Boxa de Nova Jersey Henry Hascup són només alguns nomenats que seran consagrats amb el 2019 classe d'inducció.
Els nominats seran nomenats en tres categories: Lluitador, Entrenador & Cut-Men i col·laboradors especials.
“Va ser un gran honor saber que anava a ser incorporat al Saló de la Fama de la Boxa de l'Atlantic City. LAS VEGAS (Agost 4, 2018) – contendent de pes lleuger ladarius Miller (17-1, 5 KOs) won a competitive unanimous decision over Dennis Galarza (16-4, 9 KOs) in the main event of Premier Boxing Champions on Bounce Friday night from Sam’s Town in Las Vegas.

 

 

 

The 25-year-olds spent the first few rounds feeling each other out before the action heated up as Miller began to find some space inside with his speed. Miller’s southpaw attack saw him look to jab inside before darting to the right to deliver left hands.

 

 

 

“I fought a tough opponent but I felt like I went in there and did what I was supposed to do,” va dir Miller. “I thought I controlled the fight the way I wanted to, but it wasn’t my best performance. I know that I can come back even better.

 

 

 

“Galarza’s height was definitely difficult to deal with and I had to really work to get on the inside. He tried to use his range and I had to make adjustments. I tried to keep him off balance and fight my fight.”

 

 

 

Galarza’s work rate began to increase with Miller’s upped aggressiveness as he found success with his jab and countering some of the movement Miller flashed. In a fight that appeared close throughout, Miller’s speed and effective straight left hands, combined with counter right hooks, gave him the decision in the eyes of the judges by scores of 96-94, 97-93 i 99-91.

 

 

 

“I’m ready to keep testing myself and move forward,” va dir Miller. “I’m ready for any opportunity that comes my way against the best of the division.”

 

 

 

Additional televised action saw former title challenger Sharif Bogere (32-1, 20 KOs) win a hard fought unanimous decision over Chile’s Òscar Bravo (23-8, 11 KOs) in their 10-round super lightweight showdown.

 

 

 

Bogere showed off an impressive arsenal, stinging Bravo early with a check left hook and combination punching that left his opponent bleeding from his left eye from the early rounds. Bravo pushed forward and tried to trap Bogere against the ropes while throwing power punches, despite the impairment.

 

 

 

Even with the 10-round onslaught from Bravo, Bogere was able to consistently counter and hurt Bravo, never allowing the Chilean fighter to put him in any real danger. The judges all saw the fight for Bogere with scores of 99-91 i 100-90 dues vegades.

Heraldez delivered a thundering counter left uppercut that sent Watts to the canvas in the opening frame of the fight. Watts was able to survive the round but it set the tone for what was to come, as Heraldez was consistently landed the cleaner and more powerful punches.

 

 

 

Watts attempted to get back in the fight leading with a power left hook but Heraldez was able to keep him at bay and deliver his own offense to earn the victory by scores of 100-89 i 98-91 dues vegades.

The Memphis-native, who now fights under the Mayweather Promotions banner in Las Vegas, is positioned to make waves in his first headlining spot.

 

 

 

“It feels great to be in this position at the top of the card,” va dir Miller. “Floyd and Leonard Ellerbe are putting me in a great position leading a card full of talented fighters. I don’t know where I’m ranked right now, but I believe this fight will get me to the level I need to be at to be in the conversation with top contenders.”

 

 

 

He will be opposed by the skilled and lanky Galarza, a fighter that Miller is familiar with and who he may mesh with to create a memorable fight night.

He will be opposed by Chile’s Bé Fet (22-7, 10 KOs), who most recently lost a narrow decision to unbeaten prospect Saul Rodriguez in a fight that he sent Rodriguez to the canvas.

 

 

 

Originally from Uzbekistan, Rakhmànov (10-0-1, 5 KOs) fights out of Las Vegas and will look to put on a show in his adopted hometown as he enters the ring at Sam’s Town for the second time this year. The 28-year-old’s previous fight this year saw him stop Hylon Williams Jr. in the second round to make it six wins in a row since he fought to a split-draw against Alfonso Olvera in 2016. He will be opposed by the 24-year-old Taylor (9-1), who fights out of Houston and also enters the August 3 bout with a six-fight winning streak.

 

 

 

El jove de 27 anys Douglas (18-2, 13 KOs) will step into the ring on August 3 looking to put on an impressive performance to get back in the mix for a world title shot. Douglas impressive victories over once-beaten Frank De Alba and Alexei Collado, before dropping decisions to former champion Javier Fortuna and Edner Cherry. The Delaware-native most recently scored a first round knockout of Isaias Martin Cardona in December 2017.

The 24-year-old Miller has been on a tear since a loss in February 2016, showing off increased power plus the speed that defined him since turning pro in 2014. Miller has won seven fights in a row, including a victory over Jamel Herring and previously unbeaten Maynard Allison. Born in Memphis but living and training out of Las Vegas as a pro, Miller has already scored two stoppage victories this year in his adopted hometown.

 

 

 

“I feel great right now and happy to get back in the ring,” va dir Miller. “I have a great team behind me and they’re giving me motivation to fight and train even harder than ever. Galarza is another step up for me and someone who I’m very aware of. I have to be patient in this next fight. If I see an opportunity for a knockout then I’ll go for it, but it’s not the plan. I have the skillset. All I can do is go out there, download his plan, and react. My goal is always to give the fans an exciting show while I’m out there.”

 

 

 

Galarza, an outstanding amateur boxer, stepped up in competition and dropped a narrow decision to veteran contender Edner Cherry in April. The 25-year-old Galarza, who’s from Brooklyn but trains in Orlando, had won three straight fights heading into that bout and will look to get back in the win column in the same building where he won a 10-round decision against Omar Tienda last June.

 

 

 

“I don’t back down from anybody and Ladarius Miller is no exception,” said Galarza. “I walked out of my last fight against Edner Cherry knowing that I won the fight, even though I didn’t get the decision. I won the respect of the fans and now I’m back with another chance to prove myself. I know Miller very well and I know a win here can put me into the upper echelon of the division. This is a coming out fight for both of us and I’m looking to win impressively.”

 

 

 

The 29-year-old Barrionuevo fights out of Salta, Argentina and has been the Argentine welterweight champion since 2015. He enters this fight the winner of his last 10 concursos, including a first round destruction of Adrian Luciano Veron in January. Barrionuevo will be making his U.S. debut when he enters the ring in Las Vegas onAugust 3.

 

 

 

Fighting out of Casa Grande, Arizona, Ramos made his welterweight debut by stopping Emmanuel Robles last July before challenging once-beaten Jamal James in April and losing by a narrow majority decision. The 27-year-old has bounced back with two stoppage victories in 2018 and has draws against world champion Maurice Hooker and contender Levan Ghvamichava on his resume.

 

 

 

Heraldez is unbeaten since turning pro in 2009 and picked up the biggest victory of his career thus far when he triumphed over previously undefeated Jose Miguel Borrego last August on the Mayweather vs. McGregor undercard. Lluitant fora de Las Vegas, the 27-year-old will make his 2018 debut August 3 looking to further his contender credentials.

 

 

 

The Los Angeles-native Watts put his career back on the right path with a knockout victory over then once-beaten Ryan Karl in April and hopes to build on that with another notable victory August 3. The 26-year-old won his first 11 pro fights before suffering defeats to then unbeaten fighters Eddie Ramirez and Jose Miguel Borrego.

LANCASTER, TAL COM. (Juny 12, 2017) – L'ex campió del món Brandon Rius (34-3-1, 24 KOs) va tornar al ring amb un nocaut tècnic de Mèxic a la setena ronda Aaron Herrera (23-7-1, 14 KOs) en l'esdeveniment principal de Lliga de Campions de Boxa a FS1 i FOX Esports Diumengenit des de The Pioneer Event Center a Lancaster, Califòrnia.
“He tingut aquesta bona sensació de nervis aquesta nit, com abans del meu debut professional,” va dir Rius. “Estava una mica nerviosa, però allà em sentia bé.”
En el seu primer combat a 19 mesos, Rios va mostrar el seu estil emocionant i característic en trencar el mateix partit d'Herrera abans de detenir-lo al final del seu concurs de pes welter.. Rios va controlar l'acció des del primer moment mentre va mostrar el seu fort joc interior mentre etiquetava Herrera amb ganxos i uppercuts..
Herrera va rebre una bona part de càstig durant les primeres rondes, però es va mantenir competitiu en llançar constantment contra els agressius Rios., que va poder parar alguns dels tirs d'Herrera amb un moviment efectiu del cap. Herrera va fer la seva millor ronda a la quarta quan va canviar les marees momentàniament en ser més actiu que Rios..
“Sempre estic preparat per a qui em posen al davant,” va dir Rius. “Era dur i es balancejava fort. Vaig haver d'anar amb compte i no hi podia entrar boig. De vegades m'agafava, però això forma part de l'esport.”
El canvi no va durar gaire, ja que Rios va augmentar la pressió i va començar a frenar Herrera amb un major treball corporal.. Herrera va continuar lluitant, però va estar clarament cansat al final de la sisena ronda, quan Rios va jugar contra ell contra les cordes amb grans cops de puny..
“La propera vegada que hi entri estaré millor,” va dir Rius. “Veureu més progrés cada vegada que surti. Encara tinc el mateix estil, però hi afegeixo més atletisme i moviment del cap. Vaig sentir que m'havia anat bé allà dins.”
L'atac va continuar a la setena ronda, mentre Rios va perseguir Herrera cap a les cordes abans de lliurar finalment el ganxo dret al cos que va posar Herrera a l'estora.. Herrera no va poder superar el recompte i Rios va tornar a la columna de victòries amb una victòria de parada2:11 a la ronda.

L'esdeveniment co-principal de la transmissió televisiva va ser invicte Mario Barris (19-0, 11 KOs) anotar un nocaut sensacional José Luis Rodríguez (23-9-1, 13 KOs) amb ganxo esquerre al cos que va acabar la seva batalla súper lleugera a la setena ronda.
“Sabia que anava a lluitar tot el temps,” said Barris. “Ell es quedaria entrant i vaig haver de mantenir la distància. El vaig sorprendre amb una mà i després el vaig trobar al fetge.”

Borrego va mantenir l'atac i finalment va enviar Watts a la lona amb una altra mà esquerra als dos minuts de la ronda.. Mentre Watts tornava a posar-se dempeus, Borrego el va arraconar ràpidament i va fer una altra ràfega que va obligar l'àrbitre Jack Reiss a aturar el combat 2:42 a la ronda.

“Desafortunadament, in the last twelve months, I’ve had two opponents come in overweight when I was scheduled to fight on national television. “I’m just ready to get back to the top. I know that I have to climb the ladder and that’s what I’m here for.
“When I said that I was done, I was done. Eventually though I started getting that urge again, to get on that stage and perform on TV. My wife told me that if I wanted to fight again, I had to come back dedicated.
“It’s really cool to be fighting right after the Mexico vs. USA match. I’m a Mexican-American but I live in the United States so it’ll be USA vs. Mexico in the ring as well when I face Herrera.
“I know that I have a very skilled, tough opponent. He’s working with Juan Manuel Marquez and he’s very experienced. He’s faced some really tough opponents. It’s going to be a good fight to get back in the ring with.
“I felt like I needed a new voice in my corner. There’s nothing against (former trainer) Robert García, I respect him and he got me to where I am today, but I felt like I got too used to that situation.
“I told (Rius’ entrenador) Ricky Funez that I wanted to come back and have him train me and thankfully he was excited to work with me. We started working really hard and we took some time to get to know each other more and more.
“I Googled ‘Southern California boxing trainers’ and Ten Goose Boxing and Ricky came up, and I decided to hit him up. So I direct messaged him on Instagram and the rest is history.
“I feel like I’m in really good shape after working with a nutritionist for the first time. My nutritionist is with me 12 hours a day and it’s had me feeling great heading into this fight.
“I’ve always been a brawler, but I’m capable of boxing, especially with my inside game. The way I can deflect punches is a strength.
“I’m just ready to get back to the top. I know that I have to climb the ladder and that’s what I’m here for.”

“Training Brandon was a good challenge for me but he has been disciplined from the very start. I laid it all out for him from the beginning, I just wanted a good response from him and he said he’s going to work hard.
“A lot of people said that he was done, and that motivated me. I’ve seen Joe Goossen bring fighters back like Diego Corrales and he’s my mentor in this sport. I’m working hard to push Brandon and get him to that level.
“Brandon is a stubborn fighter but he really does listen. He has a lot of tools and I think you’ll see that he hasn’t lost anything in that ring diumenge.”

Després d'una carrera amateur estel·lar, Rius, an all-action brawler, went unbeaten in his first 27 pro fights before he stopped Miguel Acosta in 2011 to win a lightweight world title. The 31-year-old added victories over Richar Abril, Urbano Antillon and John Murray before winning two out of three fights in a trilogy against Mike Alvarado. L’Oxnard, California-native has challenged top welterweights Manny Pacquiao and Tim Bradley and will look to work his way towards another world title show in the 147-pound division.
Fighting out of Yucatan, Mèxic, Herrera enters this fight on a three-bout knockout streak since October 2016. The 28-year-old was unbeaten in his first 24 pro fights including 16 knockouts before challenging for a regional title in 2013. He fights in the U.S. per quarta vegada en Juny 11 when he takes on Rios.
A tall fighter for his division at more than six feet, the 21-year-old Barrios picked up seven victories in a jam-packed 2015 in which he stopped five opponents inside the distance and followed it up in 2016 amb tres victòries més, including a 12-round decision over Devis Boschiero in July. Amb tan sols 19 anys d'edat, Borrego has burst onto the scene displaying big knockout power as he made his U.S. debut in February with a first round stoppage and followed it by stopping John Delperdang in the seventh-round of a televised contest this April. Fighting out of Aguascalientes, Mèxic, Borrego will fight in California for the first time since turning pro in 2015.
Born in Lancaster, California and fighting out of Los Angeles, Watts turned pro in 2013 and picked up victories over previously unbeaten Maximilliano Becerra plus once-beaten fighters Michal Chudecki and Manuel Damairias Lopez before suffering his first loss last September to unbeaten prospect Eddie Ramirez. The 25-year-old who has fought professionally since 2013 will look to get back in the win column in his hometown on Juny 11.
