ATLANTIC CITY BOXING HALL OF FAME ANNOUNCE THEIR CLASS OF 2019!!!!

Atlantic City, N.J. – Novembre 19, 2018 – The Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame (ACBHOF) ha anunciat la seva 2019 Induction Class. The Induction Weekend will take place at The Claridge, a Radisson Hotel located at Park Place & Boardwalk in Atlantic City, New Jersey on June 21 – 23, 2019.
“We’re extremely excited about the Class of 2019 and are very much looking forward to paying tribute to the new inductees in Atlantic City at our 3rd annual induction weekend next June” said ACBHOF President and Founder Ray McCline.

Bernard Hopkins will be inducted into his first Hall of Fame as part of the third annual class that will include a total of 19 inductees.
“I feel appreciated and it’s starting to settle in that I’m near that mark of living legend. I don’t see myself as a living legend. Let other people decide that. This is a great honor and I’m grateful for the Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame for making this happen,” Hopkins said in a November 16 RingTV interview with Joseph Santoliquito.
“Watch who you co-sign for; you can’t sell me black to get in the door. You can’t sell me white to get in the door. You can’t sell me half white or half black or none of that to get in the door. But you can sell me LOYALTY” said former two-division champion Bernard Hopkins.
The 3rd Annual Induction Ceremony & Celebration Weekend will honor some of the world’s most iconic figures from the sport of boxing: Butch Lewis, Nigel Collins, Anglès “Bouie” Fisher and New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame’s President Henry Hascup are just a few named who will be enshrined with the 2019 induction class.
Inductees will be named in three categories: Fighter, Entrenador & Cut-Men and Special Contributors.
“It was a great honor to hear I was going to be inducted into Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame. Atlantic City is my second home, and as a pro fighter I’ve fought numerous times in this great city. It’s a great boxing town and it is an honor to be inducted into the Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame” diu Micky Ward.

(Juliol 1, 2018) – Returning to the ring after an 11-month layoff due to a broken jaw, Joe “La Bèstia” Herrero, Jr. provided early fireworks last night (Dissabte, Juny 30) in the latest installment in the popular “Slugfest at The Sun” sèrie, presented by Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing, a Mohegan Sun Arena a Uncasville, Connecticut.

 

 

 

“Slugfest at The Sun” was taped live and will air Juliol 19, 8 -10 p.m. I, a New England Sports Network (NESN). Star Boxing’s next event, “Rockin’ baralles”,Setembre 21 at the Paramount in Huntington, Nova York, will also air via tape- delay on NESN.

La 2016 New England Golden Gloves champion Laureano, who fights out of East Hartford, Connecticut, put on an entertaining show in front of his large, loud contingent of fans. Laureano effectively used every punch in his vast arsenal to break down a tough, game Rodriguez.

 

 

 

“I thought I did well,” Laureano said after the fight, “but I’d like to see more angles. I want to see more power, massa. It’s there, he felt it; it’s coming. I have a long road. Irish junior welterweight “Lethal” Larry Fryers (formerly known as Gleeson) va millorar el seu rècord a 7-1 (2 KOs) with a six-round unanimous decision over Anthony Woods (1-7-1). PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island (Juny 26, 2018) – In advance of her fight this Saturday night at Mohegan Sun Arena, three-time world champion Kali “KO Mequinonoag” Reis held an open media workout today at Big Six Academy in Providence, Rhode Island.

(jUNE 25, 2018) –With June 30th rapidly approaching, the hype for STAR BOXING’S “SLUGFEST at the SUN” continues to build as two of the premier fighters on the card will be making their New England homecoming. In the co-feature bout, KALI “KO MEQUINONOAG” REIS (13-7-1 4Nocauts) of Providence, Rhode Island will be making her third appearance at Mohegan Sun against PATY “LA ELEGANTE” RAMIREZ (11-5 5Nocauts). Adding to the excitement, Connecticut propi “ACTION” ANTHONY LAUREANO (7-0 3Nocauts) of East Hartford is set to make his return home at Mohegan Sun in his bout against JUAN de la CRUZ RODRIGUEZ (8-9-1 6Nocauts).

 

 

 

Rhode Island’s Native Warrior, Kali Reis, is no stranger to bright lights and pressure. Coming off an impressive performance on HBO against undisputed champion and #1 pound-for-pound female fighter in the world, Cecilia Braekhus, Reis looks to return home, back to New England and put her full warrior spirit out on display at the Mohegan Sun.

 

 

 

When commenting on her upcoming fight, Reis had this to say, “Fans can expect to see an even more determined, skilled, famolenc, evolving WARRIOR in there! The fight on HBO with Braekhus was such a learning experience and I am grateful for making history in not only women’s boxing but my own personal journey as well.”

 

 

 

The last time Reis fought at Mohegan Sun was in November of last year. She is thrilled to be making this homecoming.

 

 

 

“I am excited to be back ‘home’ at Mohegan Sun June 30th,” said the Rhode Island native. “Star Boxing always has action packed fights lighting up this beautiful area. My fans love coming to Mohegan Sun. There isn’t a bad seat in the house and their hospitality is fantastic. Joe DeGuardia is keeping me very productive since we signed with him back in November. I am so pleased with the decision myself and manager Brian made to sign with them.”

 

 

 

Another local warrior on the card to watch is Anthony Laureano. Laureano earned the nickname “Acció” for his relentless, coming-forward fight style. If the East Hartford native is in the ring, fans can always expect an exciting show from start to finish. Star Boxing’s “Slugfest at the Sun” always brings fireworks to Connecticut, and Laureano looks to continue the tradition with his homecoming at Mohegan Sun.

 

 

 

Laureano was asked what he will provide the fans at Mohegan Sun, and his response was simply, “The same thing they always see, acció. Acció, Això és. This bout against Rodriguez will mark the third time in his career that Laureano is fighting at Mohegan Sun.

The atmosphere, the crowd, my hometown crowd is there, and when they’re there it’s loud…Mohegan is my home, sense dubte. The casino treats me good, and when I go there I feel this is where I belong. NOVA YORK (Maig 1, 2018) — Vint-i-tres membres de la classe de 2018 van ser ingressats al New York Stare Boxing Hall of Fame (NYSBHOF), aquest darrer diumenge a la tarda durant el setè sopar anual d’inducció a NYSBHOF, a Russo en la Badia a Howard Beach, Nova York.

Molts dels ingressats són aquí avui i els que ja no són amb nosaltres estan representats per membres de la família. JOE MESI: “Tinc tanta gent per agrair aquest honor. Sóc buffalonià. No hi ha ningú més a favor d’una Nova York, però no ho és. Això és especial per a mi perquè és el Saló de la Fama de la Boxa de l’Estat de Nova York. Això em solidifica i em fa pensar que no sóc un noi local. Hi havia un desavantatge enorme provinent d’una ciutat petita, el sparring no era el mateix que als gimnasos de la ciutat de Nova York, però tenia un avantatge de l’oest de Nova York. Ningú no sortia bé com ho vam fer a Buffalo amb 10,000, llavors 16,00 i finalment 18,000 gent. Sempre estaven darrere meu i ho comparteixo amb ells perquè el seu suport em va fer. El meu somni era lluitar a Buffalo i continuar lluitant allà.
“Un dels aspectes més destacats de la meva vida va ser lluitar contra Monte Barrett a HBO al Madison Square Garden. Va ser un dels millors lluitadors del món que va lluitar pel títol mundial. Sempre he volgut aconseguir el títol mundial, però mai ho vaig aconseguir. Està bé, Vaig estar una mica amarga durant un temps, però no podria ser més feliç amb la meva carrera. La millor part de la boxa és la germanor que compartim.

RON SCOTT STEVENS: “Sé que la gent sempre ho diu, però aquesta és la veritat: Debo tanta gent que m’ha donat suport al llarg de la meva carrera. La boxa sempre ha estat a casa fora de casa i avui em sento com a casa.
“Jo era 30, que viu a Brooklyn Heights, i tornant conduint un taxi i esperant sobre taules. Una llum em va apagar al cap: la boxa és l’esport dels menuts i sóc un menystingut. L’endemà vaig anar al gimnàs de Gleason – el centre de l'univers. Vaig recórrer tots els gimnasos de la ciutat, promotors de reunions, directius i formadors. Vaig començar a fer partits per a promotors i després em va contractar Cedric Kushner 1980-2002. En 2002, Em van trucar per treballar per a la Comissió Atlètica de l’Estat de Nova York com a coordinador comunitari i director de boxa. Llavors, Em van nomenar president i vaig complir dos mandats. Avui, Estic extremadament orgullós de formar part del Saló de la Fama de la Boxa de l’Estat de Nova York.

A EL COLE: “Vaig pensar que la boxa era l’esport més estúpid i ximple de la història. Qui volia rebre cops de puny a la cara? Vaig començar a boxar tard. Vaig jugar amb alguns i la gent va dir que era bastant bo. Vaig començar a boxar quan era 20, a l'exèrcit, estacionat a Ft. Caputxa. Quatre anys després, Jo estava a l’equip olímpic. El motiu pel qual he tingut una gran parella de combat, Ray Mercer. Si anés a participar tots els dies amb el Ray, Tampoc anava a ser apallissat, o millorar.
“Recordo que Bob Arum em va donar la seva targeta de presentació. No el coneixia. Només coneixia tres persones a la boxa: Don King, Muhammad Ali i Sugar Ray Leonard. No seguia la boxa i l’única raó per la qual era la boxa era que hauria hagut de dormir al bosc si no ho fes (a l'exèrcit). La boxa és: pega-li, abans que em pegui.”

PETE BRODSKY: “Vull donar les gràcies a la junta. Jo ho seré 70 i vaig començar a la boxa quan era jo 18. Va crear una nova direcció a la meva vida. Estic molt orgullós d’estar en companyia de nois que no només ho parlaven, els va encantar. Si realment us agrada aquest esport, realment l’has d’aprendre. Qualsevol home que entrés al ring, a més de tota la feina, temps al gimnàs i sacrificant el que mengen, ho va fer per ser el millor que poden ser.
“A la boxa, no guanyaràs tots els combats, però si guanya o perd un lluitador, si dóna el 100 per cent, és un guanyador. Treballen una feina, córrer cinc milles al dia, entrenament al gimnàs, i després se’n va anar a casa a passar temps amb la seva família. Els amics i la família sempre tenen l’esquena.”

MELVINA LATHAM: “Estic sense paraules. Es maravellós. Divertit (antic president del NYSAC, Gordon), recordes aquesta història? Només hi havia tres jutges i, desafortunadament, un va cridar malalt. NOVA YORK (Març 26, 2018) – Salvadors de boxa Bob Goodman i el seu pare, la tarda Murray Goodman, són entre 23 membres de la classe de 2018 sent ingressat al Saló de la Fama de la Boxa de l’Estat de Nova York (NYSBHOF) a Diumenge tarda (12:30-5:30 p.m. I), Abril 29.
El setè sopar anual d’inducció al NYSBHOF se celebrarà un any més a Russo’s On The Bay a Howard Beach, Nova York.
Un llegendari publicista de boxa, Murray Goodman (Bronx) va portar el seu fill a la dolça ciència quan Bob només tenia vuit anys. La resta va ser històrica per als Goodmans, els dos són ingressats en diversos salons de la fama, incloent el Saló Internacional de la Fama de la Boxa.
“Aquest és un gran honor per a mi i per al meu pare,” Va dir Bob. “M’agradaria que fos viu avui per ser-hi. Sóc un boxador. Tenia vuit anys anant a tots els camps d’entrenament amb el meu pare, que va ser escriptor de boxa i editor esportiu de l’INS (Servei de Notícies Hearst) servei. M’aixecava per córrer amb els boxadors i tenia l’oportunitat d’estar al voltant dels meus herois. També vaig conèixer entrenadors i altres entrenadors de boxa i aficionats posteriors. Vaig conèixer a tothom. Em van criar a la boxa, tota la meva vida va ser la boxa, 65 anys al negoci.”
Bob ho és, potser, més conegut com a vicepresident i aparellador de Madison Square Garden (1985-1994), així com un quart de segle exercint de vicepresident d’operacions de boxa, Matchmaker i director de relacions públiques de Don King Productions. També va ascendir a molts campions del món com a president de la seva pròpia empresa, Boxa Garden State.
“Recordo haver anat a campaments d’entrenament setmanes cada vegada,” va recordar amb afecte el Goodman, de 78 anys. “Faria fotos, escriure històries cada dia i utilitzar la meva telecopiadora per enviar-les a AP i UPI. Vaig fer tant per criar-me al negoci, fins i tot carregant camions amb cadires, l'anell, altaveus i molt més. El meu pare era el director de publicitat del Club Internacional de Boxa al Madison Square Garden. Hi vaig treballar quan era adolescent.
“Estic honrat de ser inclòs al Saló de la Fama de la Boxa de l’Estat de Nova York amb el meu pare i tants homes de boxa. Són diferents de la gent de qualsevol altre esport. Un dels premis amb què estic més orgullós és el James J.. Premi Walker Memorial al servei llarg i meritori de la boxa (BWAA a 1960).
“Tinc la sort d’haver transcendit diverses èpoques de la boxa. Aleshores era un món diferent, vam tenir 20-30 els escriptors es queden setmanes als camps d’entrenament. Vaig conèixer boxadors i entrenadors antics.”

Goodman, que va servir als EUA. Guardacostes de 1958-62, es manté actiu avui treballant amb veterans’ grups. És president del consell assessor del veterà de Weymouth Township, i també actiu amb la Legió Americana i forma part de la Guàrdia d'Honor amb l'Associació de Veterans de la Guerra de Corea.

(Octubre 19, 2017, 2017) – His induction into the Connecticut Boxing Hall of Fame (CBHOF) en dissabte nit, Octubre 28, as part of the six-member Class of 2017, will cap the boxing career of retiring judge Clark Sammartino a 13TH Sopar de Gala anual CBHOF inducció al Saló de Ball Uncas al Mohegan Sun.

A graduate of Brown University, the now 80-year-old Sammartino has enjoyed two other careers as an oral surgeon and investment advisor at Blue Fin in Providence, in addition to his role as an international boxing judge since 1985.
“I first got into boxing because Joey Angelo married my cousin,” Sammartino explained. “He fought back in the early forties. Joey fought Willie Pep twice and Sandy Saddler. That’s what got me started. We used to have the great Dilluns Night Fights at Rhode Island Auditorium and I remember watching Rocky Marciano fight “Tigre” Ted Lowry there.”
Because he was a successful oral surgeon, Clark could take long weekends to judge fights all over the world. His first and most memorable world title fight was Vinny Paz-Greg Haughn I. Through his long career, Sammartino judged more than 400 baralles com a professional, Incloent 50 major world title fights.
The list of boxers whose fights Sammartino judged reads like a Who’s Who of Boxing during the past 32 any: Mike Tyson, Oscar de la Foia, Evander Holyfield, Juli Cèsar Chavez, Johnny Tapia, Naseem Hamed, Chris Eubank, Marc Antoni Barrera, Mark Johnson, Wayne McCullough, Wladimir Klitschko, Gennady Golovkin, Anthony Joshua, Sergey Kovalev, Bernard Hopkins, Juan Manuel Lopez, Nonito Donaire, Acelino Freitas, Iván Calderón, Félix Trinitat, Tommy Morrison and many more.
Sammartino, who proudly says he never missed a day of work in 40 any, has decided to retire, although he’ll remain a boxing fans for the rest of his life. “I started slowing down at my age, doing local shows and maybe three or four world title fights a year, mostly WBO and IBF,” Sammartino remarked. “I had a tough bout with pneumonia the past 5-6 months and that made working difficult.”
His CBHOF induction is a fitting ending and tremendous tribute to Sammartino and his career in boxing. “I’m humbled to be inducted into the Connecticut Boxing Hall of Fame,” ell va dir. “This is a great way to end my career.”

The 27-year-old Smith (23-1, 19 KOs) is a Union 66 laborer between fights. The Long Island power-puncher from Mastic burst upon the International boxing scene last June, stopping former world title challenger Andrzej Fonfara (28-4) in the opening round for the World Boxing Council (CMB) International light heavyweight title. Merrick, NY junior welterweight Larry Stanton (29-17-2, 17 KOs), who fought professionally between 1969 i 1983, will received his 2016 Anell 8 Uncrowned Champion Award. Karo Murat accepta el repte d'enfrontar Artur Beterbiev FIB pes semipesado eliminatòria pel títol

MONT-REAL (Octubre 9, 2015) -Després de la negativa de CubaYuniesky González (FIB #11), Armenian light heavyweight Karo Murat (FIB #14, 27-2-1, 17 KOs) va aprofitar l'oportunitat de enfrontar-se a Mont-real fill adoptiu Artur Beterbiev (FIB #2, 9-0, 9 KOs) per a un pes semipesado de la FIB (175 lliura) eliminació lluita.
