SALÓ DE LA FAMA “THE GOLDEN BOY” OSCAR DE LA HOYAPER ASSISTIR 2024 CAP DE SETMANA DEL HALL OF FAME La celebració del 35è aniversari del Saló de la Fama està prevista per al juny 6 – 9
CANASTOTA, NY - MARÇ 18, 2024 – El Saló de la Fama i Museu Internacional de la Boxa, que celebra el seu 35è aniversari a 2024, té el plaer d'anunciar aquest membre del Saló de la Fama “The Golden Boy” Oscar De La Hoya assistirà al Banquet de Campions i altres esdeveniments prevists per al 2024 El cap de setmana d'Inducció al Saló de la Fama està previst per al juny 6-9.
“De l'or olímpic als títols mundials en sis divisions, Oscar De La Hoya va captar la imaginació dels aficionats a la boxa de tot el món,", va dir el director del Saló de la Fama Edward Brophy. De La Hoya cappeu a 223-5 (153 KOs) carrera amateur capturant l'or lleuger a la 1992 Jocs Olímpics. (Octubre 19, 2017, 2017) – La seva inducció al Saló de la Fama de la Boxa de Connecticut (CBHOF) en dissabte nit, Octubre 28, com a part de la classe de sis membres de 2017, acabarà la carrera de boxa del jutge retirat Clark Sammartino a 13TH Sopar de Gala anual CBHOF inducció al Saló de Ball Uncas al Mohegan Sun.
Els altres nous incorporats a CBHOF són boxejadors pioners “Professor” Charles Hadley, metge de l'anell Dr. Toni Alessi, àrbitre/jutge Dick Flaherty, la boxa escriptor Dan Parker i boxejador/col·laborador de boxa Hugh Devlin, Sr.
Llicenciat a la Universitat de Brown, l'ara Sammartino, de 80 anys, ha gaudit de dues carreres més com a cirurgià oral i assessor d'inversions a Blue Fin a Providence., a més del seu paper com a jutge internacional de boxa des d'aleshores 1985.
“Primer vaig entrar a la boxa perquè Joey Angelo es va casar amb el meu cosí,” va explicar Sammartino. “Va lluitar a principis dels quaranta. Joey va lluitar contra Willie Pep dues vegades i Sandy Saddler. Això és el que em va fer començar. Abans teníem el gran Dilluns Night Fights a l'auditori de Rhode Island i recordo haver vist lluitar en Rocky Marciano “Tigre” Ted Lowry allà.”
Perquè va ser un cirurgià oral d'èxit, Clark podria trigar caps de setmana llargs a jutjar baralles a tot el món. La seva primera i més memorable lluita pel títol mundial va ser Vinny Paz-Greg Haughn I. A través de la seva llarga trajectòria, Sammartino va jutjar més de 400 baralles com a professional, Incloent 50 principals lluites pel títol mundial.
La llista de boxejadors les baralles dels quals Sammartino va jutjar es llegeix com un Who's Who of Boxing durant el passat 32 any: Mike Tyson, Oscar de la Foia, Evander Holyfield, Juli Cèsar Chavez, Johnny Tapia, Naseem Hamed, Chris Eubank, Marc Antoni Barrera, Mark Johnson, Wayne McCullough, Wladimir Klitschko, Gennady Golovkin, Anthony Joshua, Sergey Kovalev, Bernard Hopkins, Juan Manuel Lopez, Nonito Donaire, Acelino Freitas, Iván Calderón, Félix Trinitat, Tommy Morrison i molts més.
Sammartino, que diu amb orgull que no va faltar ni un dia de feina 40 any, ha decidit retirar-se, tot i que seguirà sent un aficionat a la boxa durant la resta de la seva vida. “Vaig començar a frenar a la meva edat, fent espectacles locals i potser tres o quatre lluites pel títol mundial a l'any, principalment WBO i IBF,” va comentar Sammartino. “Vaig tenir un combat dur amb la pneumònia el passat 5-6 mesos i això va dificultar la feina.”
La seva inducció al CBHOF és un final adequat i un gran homenatge a Sammartino i la seva carrera a la boxa. “Estic honrat de ser inclòs al Saló de la Fama de la Boxa de Connecticut,” ell va dir. “Aquesta és una bona manera d'acabar la meva carrera.”

Team Dulorme is heading to Texas

Today at the Luis Munoz Marin Airport in Carolina, Port Ric, Puerto Rican world title contender, Thomas Dulorme ( 22-1, 14 KOs ) alongside with his team, are heading to Arlington, Texas for the biggest fight of Dulorme’s career schedule for this Dissabte, Abril 18 against Terence Crawford ( 25-0, 17 KOs ) de Nebraska, for the vacant WBO World super lightweight title.
The fight will air live on HBO as part of its series ‘HBO Boxing After Dark’, which starts from 9:45 pm (EST) al Park Center College, located in University of Texas at Arlington.
“I’m just two pounds over the weight limit. It is a matter of reaching Texas and continue the work plan for the fight,” said Thomas Dulorme who continued, “I will not let my people of Puerto Rico and the Latinos down”.
“This fight is dedicated to all the Latinos and Caribbean people that day after day, and night after night, work very hard in the United States, especially those who work hard in the state of Texas,”, Dulorme concluded.

El llegendari entrenador, Félix Pagán Pintor, ha estat confirmat per unir-se al grup d'elit entrenadors porto-riquenys que es recolza Thomas Dulorme ( 22-1, 14 Nocauts ) en el seu cantó. En Dissabte, Abril 18, Dulorme estarà enfrontant el desafiament més gran de la seva jove carrera mentre s'enfronta a la “2014 Boxejador de l'any” i el campió mundial de pes lleuger Terence Crawford ( 25-0,17 Nocauts ) en una baralla de campionat mundial prevista per 12 rondes de títol vacant de la OMB mundial superlleuger. La baralla es durà a terme a College Park Center, ubicat al campus de la Universitat de Texas, Arlington. La baralla serà televisada en viu per "HBO Boxing After Dark ', a partir de les 9:45 p.m. I/PT.
“En una zona remota de les muntanyes de la regió oriental de l'illa de Puerto Rico, un grup d'elit d'instructors experimentats estan treballant dur amb Dulorme en preparació per a la lluita. Un d'aquests entrenadors és Félix Pagán Pintor, que té una gran experiència, haver estat a la cantonada de molts dels més grans boxejadors porto-riquenys. Félix Pagán Pintor compta amb més de 40 anys d'experiència en la boxa. En 1977 va tenir el seu debut professional com un lluitador i al mateix temps ser un entrenador. Ha treballat sobre 60 baralles de campionat mundial amb lluitadors llegendaris com Wilfredo Gómez, Héctor 'Mascle’ Camacho, Iván Calderón, Paul Williams, Carlos Santos, entre d'altres.

Fets de combat:
Crawford va ser reconegut com el "2014 Boxejador de l'Any ', un premi atorgat per l'Associació d'Escriptors de Boxa d'Amèrica ( BWAA ) per les seves victòries va observar més de Ricky Burns, de qui va prendre el títol mundial de l'OMB. A continuació, amb èxit va defensar el seu títol en dues ocasions contra Yuriorkis Gamboa i Ray Beltrán.

D'altra banda Dulorme està acabat de sortir d'una victòria contra el contendent món Hank Lundy i abans que, Dulorme acabar invicte de Karim Mayfield, en un combat que va guanyar per decisió unànime.

Dulorme està actualment classificat #2 per l'Associació Mundial de Boxa ( AMB ), #3 pel Consell Mundial de Boxa (CMB ) i la Federació Internacional de Boxa ( FIB ), mentre #5 per l'Organització Mundial de Boxa ( OMB )
