SOCHI, Russia (Ka 21, 2017) – Two-time M-1 Challenge Light Heavyweight Champion Viktor Nemkov has positioned himself for another title shot, defeating Brazilian challenger Ronny Markes, last Friday night in the M-1 Challenger 77 main event at Sochi, Russia.
Eleven exciting fights were held with athletes representing 10 different countries in true International competition: Russia, Brazil, USA, Spain, Portugal, Duitsland, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, and Azerbajjan.
Nemkov (25-6-0, M-1 ba-: 18-5-0), loana tsoa Russia, took care of Markes (16-4-0, M-1 ba-: 0-1-0) early, by submission in the opening round by way of a guillotine choke. “I waited for the right moment,” Nemkov said after the fight, “concentrating on the guillotine-choke to finish the fight.”
Rising Russian middleweight prospect Artem Frolov (9-0-0, M-1 ba-: 6-0-0) needed only1:14 to knockout Talekh “The Azerbaijan Terminator” Taleh. “It’s hard to tell if the fight could have gone a little longer,” Frolov commented, “but I think it’s a big deal to hurt your opponent like I did. I hope to get a title fight soon.”
In a fascinating battle between unbeaten American lightweight “Motown” Moses Murrieta le Serussia Andrey Seledtsov (6-4-0, M-1 ba-: 0-3-0), Murietta (5-0-0, M-1 ba-: 1-0-) won a hard-fought three-round unanimous decision in his M-1 Global debut. “My opponent never gave up, he’s a strong opponent, Murietta remarked. “I always work on physical training. I wanted to finish the fight early, but maybe next time. I signed a six-fight contract with M-1 Global. The atmosphere here in Sochi and the fans are excellent.”
Segeorgia bobebe Raul, Tutarauli (10-3-0, M-1 ba-: 5-1-0) won a three-round unanimous decision against Artur Lemos (8-3-0, M-1 ba-: 0-1-0), of Portugal, while Russian Viktor Kolesnik (10-2-1, M-1 ba-: 1-0-1) did the same versus Philip Rego (10-4-0, M-1 ba-: 0-2-0), ea Brazil.

A native of Kazakhstan fighting out of Russia, Nemkov (24-6-0, M-1 ba-: 17-5-0) has once again fought his way back to the top of the M-1 light heavyweight class. A 2013, Nemkov defeated Vasily Babich (11-8-0), ka tsela ea ya bobedi ho pota ho ikokobelletsa (letsoho la-senotlolo sa), ka M-1 ba-Bothata ba 66, for the vacant M-1 Challenge light heavyweight title.
Nemkov lost his first title defense by a five-round split decision to German Stephan Puetz, who Nemkov gained revenge from four fights later, taking a five-round majority decision in the M-1 ba-Bothata ba 63 Fight of the Night to regain the coveted M-1 crown.
In his first title defense of his second reign, Nemkov lost his title via a five-round split decision to Rashid Yusupov (8-0), a year ago at M-1 ba-Bothata ba 68. The resilient Nemkov will position himself for yet another title shot with an impressive victory against Markes.
Markes (16-4-0, M-1 ba-: 0-0-0), ea Brazil, will be making his M-1 Global debut against Nemkov. In his last fight this past February, Markes choked out 15-4-0 Tony Lopez in the opening round of their King of the Cage super heavyweight championship match. ORENBURG CITY, Russia (Ka 28, 2016) – Last night’s M-1 ba-Bothata ba 66 event had its share of upsets, leading with a main event split decision victory by Rashid Yusopov over defending M-1 Challenge light heavyweight champion Viktor Nemkov, in Orenburg City, Russia.

Russian challenger Yusopov (7-2-0, M-1 ba-: 4-1-0) won a hard fought 5-round split decision over defending champion Nemkov (23-6-0, M-1 ba-: 14-5-0), fighting out of Russia by way of Kazakhstan, who was making his initial title defense.
Nemkov had captured the coveted M-1 Challenge light heavyweight title this past December, taking a 5-round decision from defending champion Puetz, who had won a 5-round split decision April, 2014 against Nemkov for the title. Nemkov is a two-time M-1 Challenge light heavyweight champion having defeated Vasily Babich (WSUB3 – letsoho la-senotlolo sa) for the vacant title that he then lost in his first title defense to Puetz.
The 23-year-old Yusupov was riding a 4-fight win streak going into his fight with Nemkov. A former Russian, European and World Amateur MMA champion, Yusupov is known as a dangerous striker whose signature moves are powerful kicks.
Puetz vs.. Seledtsov was billed as “Terminator” vs.. “Spetsnev” and it lived up to its name as Puetz won a unanimous 3-round decision. Puetz, ea Jeremane, had successfully defended his M-1 Challenge light heavyweight title twice, after beating Nemkov in their original championship match, khahlanong le Luis Fernando Miranda (SUB2 – bipetsa) August 15, 2014 kaM-1 ba-Bothata ba 50, le Valery Myasnikov (KO/TKO2 – punches) December 17, 2014 kaM-1 ba-Bothata ba 54. In a non-title fight this past May, Puetz stopped then-M-1 Challenge heavyweight champion Marcin Tybura in the third round due to a severely damaged broken nose.
Seledtsov, 28, is a former Spetsnev solider known for his powerful boxing, combat samba and MMA background. A local White-Rex promotion champion, the Russian was making his M-1 Global debut.

M-1 Global also announced that former M-1 Challenge light heavyweight champion Stephan “T-800” Puetz will also return to action against M-1 Global-debuting Andrey Seledtsov.
Nemkov (23-5-0, M-1 ba-: 14-4-0) captured the coveted M-1 Challenge light heavyweight title this past December, taking a hard-fought 5-round decision from defending champion Puetz, who had won a 5-round split decision April, 2014 against Nemkov for the title. Nemkov (tšoantšetsoang ho tloha) is a two-time M-1 Challenge light heavyweight champion having defeated Vasily Babich(WSUB3 – letsoho la-senotlolo sa) for the vacant title that he then lost in his first title defense to Puetz.
A native of Kazakhstan who fights out of Russia, Nemkov will be making his initial title defense of his second championship belt against Yusopov.

The 23-year-old Yusupov (6-2-0, M-1 ba-: 3-1-0), fighting out of Sochi, Russia, has won four fights in a row to put himself into title contention. He is also a top-notch wrestler, evident by his M-1 Challenge victories against Charles Andrade le Martin Zawada.
Puetz (13-2-0, M-1 ba-: 4-1-0), fighting out of Munich, Duitsland, successfully defended his M-1 Challenge title twice, after beating Nemkov in their original championship match, khahlanong le Luis Fernando Miranda (SUB2 – bipetsa) August 15, 2014 ka M-1 ba-Bothata ba 50, le Valery Myasnikov (KO/TKO2 – punches) December 17, 2014 ka M-1 ba-Bothata ba 54.
