“I know the spotlight will be on me, but I will keep my cool and focus on getting the win,” said Herring. “Training has been going really well because I stay in shape year round. I know my opponent is tall and rangy and has a good punch. I am preparing myself to make adjustments and be ready for anything. I’m looking to get the win by any means necessary.”

The 30-year-old Herring represented the United States at the 2012 Olympic games after winning the U.S. National Amateur title the same year. Fighting out of Cincinnati, Herring picked up four victories in 2015 including a dominant triumph over Yakubu Amidu in October. A former member of the U.S. Marine Corps, Herring hopes to launch himself into world title contention in 2016.
A pro since 2011, the 28-year-old Flores won his first 13 pro starts, including 12 inside the distance. Born in Magangue, Colombia, Flores will make his U.S. debut on Lub ob hlis ntuj 9. Most recently Flores picked up wins in 2015 over Gustavo Sandoval and Francisco Herrera.

(Hlis ntuj nqeg 30, 2015) – Unbeaten Omar Douglas (16-0, 11 KOs) gritted out a 10-round unanimous decision over Frank tsib Alba (17-2-2, 6 KOs) on Tuesday night’s edition of Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYS on FS1 and BOXEO DE CAMPEONES on FOX Deportes from Sands Bethlehem Event Center in Bethlehem, Pa.
Douglas started to turn up the heat up in round two as he landed two hard left hooks that stopped De Alba in his tracks. De Alba was able to gain confidence in round three, as he was able to counter effectively against Douglas.
Round five had the best two-way action of the first half of the fight with both guys digging deep to gain an advantage. Douglas seemed to get the better of the exchanges as he landed the harder combinations. Douglas began to take over the middle rounds and in round eight, a left hook rocked De Alba and put him in danger for this first time in the fight.
The two fought hard down the stretch and excited the crowd with Douglas winning in the end by majority decision by scores of 97-93, 96-94 thiab 95-95.
In the co-main event, Miguel Cruz (12-0, 11 KOs) remained perfect by scoring a seventh-round stoppage over Virgil Green (11-4, 3 KOs) in a scheduled eight-round welterweight battle.
Cruz was dominant throughout the fight and in round four he rocked Green with a left hook that had his opponent stumbling into the corner. In round seven, Cruz landed a perfect right and left hook that put Green down.
Sensing his moment, Cruz quickly finished the deal with two hard lefts that forced referee Benjy Esteves to stop the fight at 1:32 of round seven. Cruz’s power punches proved to be most dangerous as he connected on 46 percent of them.
Nyob hauv lub televised opener, Christopher Brooker (7-1, 5 KOs) worked hard and earned an eight-round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Leo Hall in a light heavyweight bout.
Brooker controlled most of the action and came out with a strong first round landing some solid punches in close on Hall. Nyob rau hauv kab tsib, Brooker landed a solid combination that sent Hall back to the ropes and had him in trouble. He was far more accurate throughout the night, landing 49 percent of his total punches and 53 percent of his power punches.
In his strongest moment of the fight in round seven, Brooker landed a perfect right on the chin that drew a big reaction from crowd. The judges scored the fight 80-72 thiab 79-73 twice all for Brooker.

“I feel great. I got some great rounds. The judges might have made it a little bit closer than it really was. But I went into his hometown and did what I do.
“He was about as tough as my last fight. The only thing tougher than the last one was that I had to come here on the road and do it.
“This builds me. It makes me a better fighter. I had a great opportunity tonight and I jumped on it. I feel like I’m the better fighter and tonight I proved it.”

“It was a very competitive fight. I think I landed more punches. He was more aggressive, but I was landing more.
“This is boxing. I just come here to put on a show for the great fans. I thought I won the fight. I knew I beat him inside.”

He turned pro in 2012 and owns five victories in 2015 as he ended fights with Daniel Rodriguez, Eli Addison, Juan Rodriguez, Travis Hartman and Anthony Abbruzzese inside the distance. He will take on the 27-year-old Green out of Vancouver, Washington. Green enters this bout on a three-fight winning streak and as the winner of six of his last seven bouts.
Undefeated at just 21-years-old, Hall looks to close out 2015 with five straight wins after knocking out Ricardo Campillo in October. The Detroit native turned pro in February 2014 by stopping Brand Larvadain. He will be opposed by the 29-year-old Echard out of West Virginia who owns a victory over Jason Pauley in 2015.

SAN ANTONIO, TX (October 28, 2015) – Rising star, undefeated super-featherweight Mario Barrios (12-0, 7 KOs), is scheduled to make his way back to the ring on November 10, 2015 at the Austin City Music Hall in Austin, Texas. Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYS rau Hma liab Sports 1 thiab BOXEO DE CAMPEONES rau FOX Deportes will air the event live beginning at 9 p.m. LI, 6 p.m. PT. In the main-event, Alejandro “Cobrita” Gonzalez Jr. (25-2-2, 15 KOs) will meet Karim Guerfi (22-3, 6 KOs) in a 10-round Bantamweight bout. Barrios, who’s 8-round will be part of the telecast, with face an opponent TBA.
While waiting for an opponent to be announced, Barrios, headed to the San Francisco Bay Area to get some work in with lead cornerman, Bob Santos.
“Since I’ve been out here I’ve learned a lot working with Bob Santos,” said Mario Barrios. “Santos has a lot of experience working with top level fighters and he’s showing me new things to help me get better. There’s a lot of little things that we’ve been working on that make a tremendous amount of difference when I’m in the ring. I’m using different footwork while improving on my defense, things like that.”
Back in San Antonio, Barrios trains with his father Martin, who’s been with him since the amateurs when he started boxing at age 9. They’ve come along way together and have a special bond.
“My dad has always been there for me,” Barrios continued. “In addition to teaching me how to be a man, he taught me how to box and stay out of trouble. It’s tough finding sparring sometimes, but he’s always there to make the necessary sacrifices to get someone. He understands what it’s going to take for me to take my career to the next level, and I appreciate him for that. Together we make a very strong team.”
Barrios, who lives in nearby San Antonio, Texas, knows how important it will be to shine on national television. With a huge crowd expected to show support, Barrios is ready to his mark in the super-featherweight division.
“With this fight being shown on Fox Sports, I know it’s my time to show everyone in my division, including those who will be watching on television, why I’ve worked so hard to get to this position.” Mario Barrios concluded. “A lot of close friends and family will be there is show support, so I’m coming with everything I got. Shelton, Washington (October 14) – Premier Boxing Champions TOE-TO-TOE Tuesdays on FS1 and FOX Deportes headed to the Pacific NorthwestHnub night from Little Creek Casino Resort with three exciting bouts that culminated with a thrilling heavyweight match up that ended in a split draw.
Gerald Washington (now 16-0-1, 11 KOs) controlled the early action with his length and superior boxing ability but the smaller southpaw Amir Mansour’s (now 22-1-1, 16 KOs) relentless pressure began to break down Washington as he closed the gap by landing overhand lefts. With the fight up for grabs the two heavyweights traded hard shots in the 10th and final round that led the judges to rule the fight a 10-round split draw scoring the bout 97-93 Washington, 96-94 Mansour and 95-95.
“I think it’s a terrible decision,” said Washington. “I definitely won the fight. No doubt about it. I won the first four rounds for sure. I rested up a little bit in the middle. The last three or four, he wasn’t even touching me. He was chasing me around. He wasn’t landing any shots at all.
“My corner was telling me to just jab and throw straight punches. I was landing all the good shots. He didn’t land any good shots. Why would I do a rematch if they’re going to do me like that? Look at his face, look at his ear. Look at my face, I didn’t take any punishment. I boxed him smart. He was being aggressive, but I was landing all the shots.”
“Washington landed some good shots in there, but I landed most of the shots. I kept the fight active,” said Monsour. “I gave the crowd something that they wanted to see. I gave the crowd excitement. That’s why they’re cheering me and they’re booing him. I’m a boxing fan’s boxer.

“Washington was a bit awkward, I was just trying to gauge the height difference and after three rounds tops of gauging the distance between him and I, I felt like I started pressing him, forcing the action, landing the most shots, and tearing his body up. He couldn’t take the body punches, he was running out of gas. He didn’t give the crowd a fight. He didn’t give himself a fight and that’s just a poor way of winning the fight or even getting a draw.”

The eight-round co-main event saw Cairo, Egypt’s Ahmed Elbiali (now 11-0, 11 KOs) control the fight from start to finish as he faced Mariano Hilario(now 13-4, 5 KOs) in a light heavyweight showdown. Despite two-way action throughout the entirely of the bout, Elbiali remained more active, pressing forward while Hilario attempted to land counter punches unsuccessfully. Elbiali remains undefeated after the judges scored the match a unanimous decision in his favor.

The first knockdown came at the end of the second round via a strong right hand. The third round saw a barrage of punches again at the end of the round that sent Douglas to the canvas. Finally, in the fourth round, Hunter battered Douglas until the bell, dropping him for the fourth time via a strong left hook. The ringside physician then called a halt to the contest, following the end of the fourth round.

On facing his opponent Ferenc Albert…
“I don’t really know much about Ferenc Albert, except for the fact that he’s on a ten-fight winning streak. I know he’s been extremely busy this year, fighting in twelve bouts so far this year. I know he’s coming into this fight with a lot of confidence so this is no easy fight for me. This will be a great fight for the fans because both of us are gunning for a victory.”
On having his fight televised live on Premier Boxing Champions “Toe-to-Toe Tuesdays” on Fox Sports…
“Fighting on the PBC on Fox Sports cards has been great for my career. I’m constantly staying busy and I’m learning what it takes to fight on a regular basis. The exposure I’m receiving is really getting the fans familiar with my fighting style. Since I’m an aggressive fighter, the “Toe-to-Tuesdays” title fits me well. I’m always going to be letting my hands go, throwing big bombs, trying to get my opponent out of there. Fans in general want to see the knockout, and that’s what I try to deliver every time I step into the ring.”
On his relationship with longtime Trainer Carlos Albuerne…
“I’ve been with Carlos since my last fight as an amateur. We have a great relationship and I respect him as a coach. He’s got a lot of knowledge. Together we make a great team and he knows how to get the best out of me. He’s always told me that I have the punching power to become a world champion. I’m grateful to have him in my corner.”
On his progression as a professional fighter…
“With each fight I’m learning something new. I know as my career moves along there will be times when I will have to go into deep waters, so I’m continuously working on my boxing skills. Right now I’ve been fortunate to get some early knockouts, but I train to fight twelve rounds. I’m evolving as a fighter and pretty soon I’ll be better-rounded with my boxing abilities.”
On working at the training facility “Fast Twitch” in Miami…
“Fast Twitch” is a state of the art facility with great strength and conditioning coaches. I’ve gained a lot of endurance training there and my stamina is always peaking on fight night. With the training I’m getting at “Fast Twitch”, I’m always on weight. I love the fact that I’m getting top notch nutrition there as well. It’s a great place to train if you’re a professional athlete.”

LAS VEGAS (September 29, 2015) – Javier “El Abejon” Fortuna (29-0-1, 21 KOs) used a relentless attack to stop Carlos “Twin Dream” Velasquez (19-2, 12 KOs) in the tenth-round and retain his super featherweight world title on Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYS on FS1 and BOXEO DE CAMPEONES on FOX Deportes from The Pearl Theater at Palms Casino Resort.
Fortuna blitzed Velasquez from the opening bell, using his awkward-pressure style to open up opportunities to land punches. In the second round, Fortuna landed a pair of left hooks that sent Velasquez to the canvas. In that round, Velasquez began bleeding from the nose due to a head butt and may have broken his nose.
Also in that second round, Fortuna injured his left hand and was unable to throw it for much of the rest of the fight. He still proved to be too much for Velasquez however, out-landing him 168-51 while landing almost 40 percent of his punches.
He came out strong once again in the tenth round, landing a series of unanswered shots that prompted referee Russell Mora to stop the fight thirty-five seconds into the round. At the time of the stoppage, the judges’ scores were 88-82, 87-83 thiab 86-84 all for Fortuna.
In the co-main event, undefeated super welterweights Domonique Dolton (17-0-1, 9 KOs) thiab Oscar Molina (13-0-1, 10 KOs) fought to a majority draw in an entertaining, back-and-forth scrap.
Dolton threw more punches than Molina, but Molina landed at a higher percentage and was able to land his power punches over 50 percent of the time. Nyob rau hauv peb hloov, Molina had his best moments when he wobbled Dolton with a right hand, but Dolton regained his composure and finished the round strong. Both men continued to flurry at moments throughout the remaining rounds and were throwing punches all the way to the final bell.
The judges’ totals were 95-95 twice and 97-93 for Fortuna. In total, Dolton landed 145 out of 479 punches while Molina landed 134 out of 326.
JAVIER FORTUNA
“I was just waiting to counter punch Velasquez. The rhythm of the fight was important. I was in control of the fight because I could control the rhythm.
“I’ve had this style ever since I was an amateur. I’ve learned more about how to be aggressive and I’ve always tried to press the action throughout my career.
“I knew I got him with a good shot when I knocked him down. I hurt my left hand after that but it was just a matter of time until I got him again. I didn’t throw my left too much after that.
“I saw his shots coming. I would have taken advantage earlier but I hurt my hand. If I hadn’t hurt my hand, he wouldn’t have lasted five rounds.
“I looked at his corner as I was hurting him because I wanted them to know that I could go the full 12 rounds and I wasn’t going to stop until the final bell rings.”
CARLOS VELASQUEZ
“The head butt, I think broke my nose early in the fight, and it effected my breathing throughout the bout.
“I take nothing away from Fortuna, he’s a great fighter. I left everything in the ring and I never quit. I wanted to give it my all and that’s what I did.”
DOMONIQUE DOLTON
“I knew it was a close decision. It would have been fine either way. Close fight. He landed some shots, I landed some shots. I wouldn’t have been mad either way.
“The game plan was to make him miss with the left hand and then get him with the overhand right. I got in there and started overpowering him. I decided to just beast him. I thought I would finish stronger at the end of the fight.
“He has really good timing. We’re both technicians. I wanted to make him miss, he wanted to make me miss. He landed some more power shots but I made him work for it at the end.”
OSCAR MOLINA
“I let it get too close, so I can’t complain about the decision. I’ll go home and watch the fight but right now I can’t complain. The judges saw what they saw.
“The game plan was to stay relaxed, but I fell out of the game plan. I hurt him in the third round and it kind of messed me up. I started looking for that one shot to end it. I have to work on staying steady and relaxed.
“Dolton had real good foot work, he caught me lunging in. I’ve known him since the amateur days so I know how good he is.
“I’m motivated to get back in the gym and start going 20, 30 rounds without getting tired. I got gassed at the end but It’s a learning experience.”
