BETHLEHEM, PA (January 11, 2016) – Undefeated 2012 U.S. Olympian Jamel Herring (14-0, 8 KOs) will battle Colombia’s Luis Eduardo Flores (21-2, 17 KOs) in a 10-round lightweight bout on Premier Boxing Champions TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYS and BOXEO DE CAMPEONES on FOX Deportes on Tuesday, February 9 from Sands Bethlehem Events Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania with televised coverage beginning at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT.
“I know the spotlight will be on me, but I will keep my cool and focus on getting the win,” said Herring. “Training has been going really well because I stay in shape year round. I know my opponent is tall and rangy and has a good punch. I am preparing myself to make adjustments and be ready for anything. I’m looking to get the win by any means necessary.”
“I will take advantage of this opportunity and I want to thank my team for getting this fight,” said Flores. “I am 100 percent positive I will win this fight. The only thing I know about Herring is that he likes to run a lot. I am coming to get a knockout and take away Herring’s ‘0’.”

The 30-year-old Herring represented the United States at the 2012 Olympic games after winning the U.S. National Amateur title the same year. Fighting out of Cincinnati, Herring picked up four victories in 2015 including a dominant triumph over Yakubu Amidu in October. A former member of the U.S. Marine Corps, Herring hopes to launch himself into world title contention in 2016.
A pro since 2011, the 28-year-old Flores won his first 13 pro starts, including 12 inside the distance. Born in Magangue, Colombia, Flores will make his U.S. debut on February 9. Most recently Flores picked up wins in 2015 over Gustavo Sandoval and Francisco Herrera.

LOS ANGELES (January 7, 2016) – Undefeated prospect David Benavidez (11-0, 10 KOs) will take on Kevin Cobbs (10-1, 4 KOs) in eight rounds of super middleweight action as “Fight Week on FOX in L.A.” kicks off with Premier Boxing Champions(PBC) TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYS on FS1 and BOXEO DE CAMPEONES on FOX Deportes on Tuesday, January 19 from Club Nokia at L.A. Live.
Televised coverage begins at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT and is headlined by undefeated prospect Jamal James (18-0, 9 KOs) taking on 2008 U.S. Olympian Javier “El Intocable” Molina (17-1, 8 KOs) in a 10-round welterweight battle. PBC action continues on Saturday, January 23 with PBC on FOX and FOX Deportes beginning at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT at STAPLES Center and headlined by Danny “Swift” Garcia taking on Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero.

Further action features 25-year-old Malcolm McAllister (6-0, 6 KOs) in a six-round middleweight bout against Chicago’s Cerresso Fort (18-4-1, 12 KOs) and Philadelphia’sThomas Velasquez (3-0, 2 KOs) in a four-round super featherweight bout.
Rounding out the night of fights is 26-year-old Ronald Mixon (5-0, 4 KOs) in a six-round light heavyweight contest and the pro debut of Ireland’s Con Sheehan ashe looks to build off of his stellar amateur career in a four-round heavyweight bout.
The younger brother of undefeated Jose Benavidez, David racked up a perfect 11 wins in 11 starts at just 19-years-old. Fighting out of Phoenix, Benavidez picked up four victories via stoppage in 2015 and most recently scored a sensational knockout over Felipe Romero in November. He will be opposed by the Burlington, Vermont-native Cobbs who enters this fight on a four-bout win streak.
A 2011 National Golden Gloves champion, Plant has begun to make his name in the professional ranks since turning pro in 2014. Last year, the 23-year-old picked up six victories including hard fought triumphs over Jamar Freeman in September and Tyrone Brunson in October. Fighting out of Nashville, he will battle the 28-year-old Rodriguez of Islas Canarias, Spain.

Irish amateur heavyweight champion Con Sheehan To make pro debut Jan. 19 in L.A.

CORK, Ireland (January 4, 2016) – Six-time Irish National heavyweight champion Con Sheehan will make his long awaited professional debut January 19 in a four-round bout, against an opponent to be determined, at Nokia Club in Los Angeles.
Sheehan is scheduled to be in the swing bout, so there’s a possibility that his first pro fight will air live on the Fox Sports 1 broadcast.
The 6′ 5 ½”, 220-pound Sheehan is athletic, in addition to being a physical specimen, who also captured a gold medal at the European Union Championships.
Possessing tremendous upside, Sheehan decided to enhance his pro boxing career a year ago, moving to Oakland to work with 2011 BWAA Trainer of the Year Virgil Hunter (pictured above with Sheehan).  Dividends are already paying off for the young Irishman.
 
“It’s been eye opening, I suppose, because Virgil is showing me the most simple of things, technically, that I’ve never seen before and it’s making a massive difference to me,” Sheehan said about being trained by Hunter. “My power has increased 10-fold with simple adjustments that I have learned from him. It was a bit of a shock because, I thought I’d cracked the technical side of boxing but he’s taken me to a whole new level.”
 
The 26-year-old Sheehan has the advantage of directly learning from one of the most respected and successful trainers in boxing, Hunter, whose top fighters include Andre Ward (pictured here with Con), Amir Kahn and Andre Berto.
 
Sheehan is the first Irishman that Hunter has ever trained.  “Every coach has his own style and mine is old school from Texas,” Hunter explained.  “Mine is slip ‘n slide and my fighters need good reflexes and good legs.  Cornelius (Con) isn’t a dancer, but he moves the right way, and I like that a lot.  I liked what I saw from the first time we met.  He keeps himself in good shape and has a good amateur pedigree.  I teach a pro style, even to amateurs, and some like Cornelius are better as pro fighters.
“Cornelius is a strong kid.  He’s made mistakes, but earlier in his life, and that’s a good thing.  There’s always a transition period and it’ll take him a few years.  He’s already proven his dedication by being here.  If he keeps on track, fighting and training in the United States, he’ll get there in two-three years.  The heavyweight division is changing. This is like the time (Tim)Witherspoon, (Greg) Page, (Frank) Bruno and a few others would win the world title and then lose it right back, until (Mike) Tyson came along and cleaned up the division.  I’m particularly happy with his progress the last six weeks; Cornelius is focused on doing it, instead of just doing it.”
Sheehan is managed by Gary Hyde (Nowhere2Hyde Management), who guided the career of world super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rogondeaux, as well as two-time world middleweight title challengerHassan N’Dam N’Jikam.
“Con Sheehan has stood out to me as a fighter with incredible boxing skills who, I knew, would benefit greatly with Virgil Hunter as his trainer,” Hyde added. “After two intensive training camps, we are all satisfied that Con has what it takes to be a major force in the heavyweight division.”

BETHLEHEM, PA. (December 30, 2015) – Unbeaten Omar Douglas (16-0, 11 KOs) gritted out a 10-round unanimous decision over Frank De Alba (17-2-2, 6 KOs) on Tuesday night’s edition of Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYS on FS1 and BOXEO DE CAMPEONES on FOX Deportes from Sands Bethlehem Event Center in Bethlehem, Pa.
Douglas started to turn up the heat up in round two as he landed two hard left hooks that stopped De Alba in his tracks. De Alba was able to gain confidence in round three, as he was able to counter effectively against Douglas.
Round five had the best two-way action of the first half of the fight with both guys digging deep to gain an advantage.  Douglas seemed to get the better of the exchanges as he landed the harder combinations. Douglas began to take over the middle rounds and in round eight, a left hook rocked De Alba and put him in danger for this first time in the fight.
The two fought hard down the stretch and excited the crowd with Douglas winning in the end by majority decision by scores of 97-93, 96-94 and 95-95.
In the co-main event, Miguel Cruz (12-0, 11 KOs) remained perfect by scoring a seventh-round stoppage over Virgil Green (11-4, 3 KOs) in a scheduled eight-round welterweight battle.
Cruz was dominant throughout the fight and in round four he rocked Green with a left hook that had his opponent stumbling into the corner. In round seven, Cruz landed a perfect right and left hook that put Green down.
Sensing his moment, Cruz quickly finished the deal with two hard lefts that forced referee Benjy Esteves to stop the fight at 1:32 of round seven. Cruz’s power punches proved to be most dangerous as he connected on 46 percent of them.
In the televised opener, Christopher Brooker (7-1, 5 KOs) worked hard and earned an eight-round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Leo Hall in a light heavyweight bout.
Brooker controlled most of the action and came out with a strong first round landing some solid punches in close on Hall.  In round five, Brooker landed a solid combination that sent Hall back to the ropes and had him in trouble. He was far more accurate throughout the night, landing 49 percent of his total punches and 53 percent of his power punches.
In his strongest moment of the fight in round seven, Brooker landed a perfect right on the chin that drew a big reaction from crowd. The judges scored the fight 80-72 and 79-73 twice all for Brooker.

OMAR DOUGLAS
“I feel great. I got some great rounds. The judges might have made it a little bit closer than it really was. But I went into his hometown and did what I do.
“He was about as tough as my last fight. The only thing tougher than the last one was that I had to come here on the road and do it.
“This builds me. It makes me a better fighter. I had a great opportunity tonight and I jumped on it. I feel like I’m the better fighter and tonight I proved it.”
FRANK DEALBA
“It was a very competitive fight. I think I landed more punches. He was more aggressive, but I was landing more.
“This is boxing. I just come here to put on a show for the great fans. I thought I won the fight. I knew I beat him inside.”
MIGUEL CRUZ
“It was a great fight, he was a tough opponent who was very agile and mobile. I had to be patient and it was great to get those rounds. I’m coming for the 147-pound division.
“I was definitely trying to break him down slowly. He was mobile, but I didn’t expect him to be so quick.
“I was hurting him every time I hit him and I finally got him out of there.”
VIRGIL GREEN
“The hits to the back of the head were the problem. I wanted the ref to do something about it but that’s what hurt me. I never recovered from it.
“I felt like I was frustrating him and out-boxing him. But I never recovered from that blow.”
CHRISTOPHER BROOKER
“It was a good fight. He’s a good boxer, but I had to keep it rough. He has some good experience that kicked in, but my will, my heart and my training kicked in too.
“My loss is what got me motivated for this performance. No more setbacks, only get backs.”
LEO HALL
“I tried to work, We were working in there. I wasn’t surprised by anything. It was a good fight.
“I pushed myself. We got in there and fought. There’s no excuses. We’re going back to work.”

A tall welterweight at 6′ 2″, James is undefeated as a pro with victories over Wayne Martell, Angel Hernandez and Mohammed Kayongo to his name. The 27-year-old out of Minneapolis has had a big 2015 that began with victories over Michael Balasi and Daniel Sostre and culminated with a hard fought decision over Juan Carlos Abreu in September. He will look to keep that momentum going when he fights in California for the first time as a pro on January 19.
A 2008 U.S. Olympian, the 25-year-old has an opportunity to make an impact in the welterweight division when he goes up against his stiffest test to date. He comes from a fighting family that includes his twin brother Oscar, a 2012 Mexican Olympian, and older brother Carlos. Fighting out of nearby Commerce, California, Molina stopped Lenwood Dozier in his last bout and has won eight fights in a row dating back to 2012.

He turned pro in 2012 and owns five victories in 2015 as he ended fights with Daniel Rodriguez, Eli Addison, Juan Rodriguez, Travis Hartman and Anthony Abbruzzese inside the distance. He will take on the 27-year-old Green out of Vancouver, Washington. Green enters this bout on a three-fight winning streak and as the winner of six of his last seven bouts.
Undefeated at just 21-years-old, Hall looks to close out 2015 with five straight wins after knocking out Ricardo Campillo in October. The Detroit native turned pro in February 2014 by stopping Brand Larvadain. He will be opposed by the 29-year-old Echard out of West Virginia who owns a victory over Jason Pauley in 2015.

(December 15, 2015) – Undefeated super featherweight contender Omar “Super O” Douglas (15-0, 11 KOs) faces his toughest test when he battles Frank De Alba (17-1-2, 6 KOs) in the main event of Premier Boxing Champions(PBC) TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYS on FS1 and BOXEO DE CAMPEONES on FOX Deportes with televised coverage beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on Tuesday, December 29 from Sands Bethlehem Event Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
“I’ve been working really hard and getting great work in camp,” said Douglas. “It’s an opportunity of a lifetime and I plan to take advantage of it. I know how to beat this guy and I know I am in great shape. I expect an early night, but if it goes 10 rounds, so be it.”
“I am really grateful for this opportunity,” said De Alba. “I’ve had to make a lot of sacrifices to get to this stage. Now that we’re here, I’m going to take advantage. I know he is a strong fighter but we will be 100 percent come fight night. This will be an entertaining fight and I will give the fans what they pay for.”
This will be the ninth installment of the TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYS and BOXEO DE CAMPEONES series since it premiered on FS1 and FOX Deportes on September 8 at the Hollywood Palladium. The series has brought numerous exciting matchups and thrilling moments in 2015 and will continue to bring sensational fights to sports fans in 2016.

An undefeated fighter out of Wilmington, Delaware, Douglas impressed in his TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYS debut in September when he showed power and skill in defeating Braulio Santos in his first ten-round outing. The 24-year-old had already beaten Daniel Attah in 2015 and previously took down veterans Anthony Napunyi, Jean Javier Sotelo and Osnel Charles.
The 28-year-old De Alba is undefeated since dropping his pro debut back in 2011 and has picked up victories of Jesus Lule, Bernardo Uribe and Jose Bustos in 2015. Born in Puerto Rico but fighting out of Reading, Pennsylvania, De Alba previously fought at Sands Bethlehem in January 2014 when he took down Chazz McDowell.

TRENTON, NJ (December 9, 2015) – Yenifel “Lightning” Vicente (28-3-2, 20 KOs) defeated Juan Dominguez (19-1, 13 KOs) by knockout just :20 into the third round ofPremier Boxing Champions (PBC) TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYS on FS1 and BOXEO DE CAMPEONES on FOX Deportes main event from Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, New Jersey.
Vicente opened up the bout landing big shots that rocked Dominguez early. Vicente continued applying pressure throughout the first frame, but Dominguez came back strong.
The early portion of the second round featured repeated left hooks from Vicente. A frustrated Dominguez landed a low blow in the middle of the second round, forcing Vicente to take a knee. Dominguez went low again and referee Earl Brown deducted a point from Dominguez for repeated low blows. The second round came to a close with Dominguez throwing booming lefts, but finding little luck landing.
Vicente started off the third round with a huge right uppercut to the body, followed by an overhand right to the head of Dominguez and ended the bout just :20 seconds into round three.
Dominguez exited the ring on a stretcher, but was responsive to medical staff and moved his extremities while being carried to the ambulance. Dominguez was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for further precautionary evaluation over night.
The opening televised fight of the evening featured unbeaten cruiserweight Keith “Machine Gun” Tapia (17-0, 11 KOs) getting a unanimous decision (97-93, 99-91, 99-91) victory over Garrett Wilson (16-10-1, 9 KOs) in 10 rounds of hard-hitting action.
After an evenly contested opening round, the second and third rounds saw exchanges that had each fighter stunned and retreating at times. Overhand rights from both pugilists became a factor in the third.
Wilson threw a big right hook followed by uppercut in fourth that seemingly stunned Tapia again. The two bruisers spent the second half of the fourth exchanging in the center of ring with repeated uppercuts landed by both.
Following the tireless work from both fighting on the inside to close out the fourth, Wilson got off two big left hooks in the fifth, and appeared to take control of the fight, even if only for a moment.
It was Tapia’s night though, regaining himself and fighting back with repeated lefts of his own and delivering an overhand right down the middle.
By the middle of the sixth, Tapia was landing huge lefts and combinations that seemed to help grow his confidence by the moment.
Rounds seven, eight and nine saw Tapia distance himself, coolly slipping Wilson’s biggest shots, while consistently landing enough of his own and tiring Wilson out.
Tapia and Wilson closed out the fight with a flurry, but it was too little too late for Wilson as Tapia cruised to the unanimous decision.
The second televised bout showcased undefeated rising middleweight prospectImmanuel Aleem (15-0, 9 KOs) earning a split decision (78-74,75-77, 77-75) overCarlos Galvan (11-4-1, 10 KOs) in an eight round bout.
Both Aleem and Galvan came out aggressive in round one with crowd-pleasing exchanges, but Galvan appeared to have gotten the better of the action, landing an uppercut at the bell.
Following an action-packed second round, Aleem landed a big right hook in the third that stunned and almost dropped Galvan to the canvas, but Aleem wasn’t able to close.
Aleem came out fast in rounds four and five, looking to finish what he couldn’t in the third, but the knockout didn’t come. Eventually Aleem setted in and started setting up behind his jab as the technical side of his game took over.
Aleem, who knocked out each of his last seven opponents entering Tuesday, started looking to do the same again in round seven. Galvan fought back, but Aleem’s triple combinations proved too much as Aleem landed another flurry to close out the round.
The second minute of the final round saw exchanges that had the crowd in awe, but Aleem landed several big rights to close out the win.
In untelevised undercard action, former world champion “Bad” Chad Dawson (33-4, 18 KOs) returned to the ring after a 14-month layoff to defeat Shujaa El Amin (12-9, 6 KOs) by unanimous decision (100-90, 100-90, 100-90) in a 10-round light heavyweight bout.

“The punches that ended it were part of a combination that we’d been working on in camp, a lower shot to the body followed by an overhand right.
“I was elated initially when I got the knockdown, but then I immediately felt sorrow when I saw that my fellow countryman was actually seriously hurt.
“I’m trying to stay positive. I hope that this fight shows that I can’t be beaten at 122 lbs. I’m just ready for bigger and better fights.
“My thoughts and prayers are with Juan and his family.”
IMMANUEL ALEEM
“I went in there tonight to break him down and then lay him down. If I had one more round I would have ended it.
“He wasn’t any tougher than I thought he’d be, we just didn’t execute everything the way I wanted to.
“I’m grateful to have gotten this experience tonight fighting on PBC on FS1. It was a great experience and now it’s on to whatever’s next. Thanks to all the fans for watching!”

“This was a tough fight. I took it on short notice, and we both fought like a couple of warriors in there tonight.
“I thought for sure I was going to be able to land something on his chin or to his body and get him out of there, but he was tough.”

“This was my first fight in 14 months and I got 10 rounds in the bag. There are some things I want to go back to the drawing board and work on, but I feel good after tonight.

Born in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic but fighting out of Brooklyn, Dominguez looks to finish out 2015 with his undefeated record intact and 20 pro wins to his name. This would mark three straight wins in 2015 after he defeated Carlos Rodriguez in February and Mario Macia in May. Prior to 2015, the 29-year-old has picked up victories over German Meraz, Camilo Perez and Jhon Alberto Molina.
The 29-year-old Vicente enters his December 8 bout with two straight victories after knocking out Reynaldo Villamizar and Manuel de los Reyes Herrera. He was undefeated in 26 professional fights before making his U.S. debut in 2012. Born in the Dominican Republic but fighting out of Miami, Vicente will surely be the stiffest challenge yet for the unbeaten Dominguez.
An undefeated prospect out of Santurce, Puerto Rico, Tapia is quickly rising to contender status in the cruiserweight division. Tapia turned pro in 2011 and made his U.S. debut with a first round knockout over Rafael Valenzuela. The 25-year-old has had a busy 2015, picking up four victories inside of the distance including his most recent triumph, a first-round stoppage of Anthony Caputo Smith. He will be opposed by the 33-year-old Wilson out of Philadelphia who enters this fight on a three-bout win streak.
An undefeated prospect out of East Meadow, New York but fighting out of Richmond, Virginia, Aleem comes off of a dominant victory over Oscar Riojas in September. The 22-year-old has racked up three victories in 2015 and will look to end the year in style when he takes on the 24-year-old Galvan.

An undefeated fighter from Michoacan, Mexico, but fighting out of Houston, Flores has not lost since turning pro in 2009 at just 17-years-old. The 23-year-old made his 2015 debut in May with a victory over German Meraz and followed that up by defeating Juan Ruiz in July and Carlos Padilla in September. He goes for a fourth victory of 2015 on November 10 when he battles the experienced Tetteh who represented Ghana at the 1996 Olympics and now fights out of Washington, D.C.
