Santa Fe Springs, CA–NABA Lightweight champion Petr Petrov (36-4-2, 17 KO’s) has been training hard for his big showdown with NABF Lightweight champion Marvin Quintero (28-6, 24 KO’s) that will take place on Friday, May 6 at The Toshiba Plaza, adjacent to the state-of-the-art T-Mobile Arena.  The Toshiba Plaza is located on the Las Vegas Strip between New York-New York and Monte Carlo.

Petrov took time out from his busy training schedule at the Santa Springs Boxing Club in Sante Fe, California to provide the following comments as he gets ready for this big opportunity:

“Camp is going great. We have had eight great weeks sparring. This is the best training camp I have had in all of my camps.   

On Quintero:
“He is a good boxer. He is a southpaw who has a lot of experience. He is a slick fighter, but I am experienced as well, and I am ready for anything.”

“This will get us the NABF title and get me ranked in the WBC, so this is the next step to getting closer to a world title.”

“It’s a big event weekend. We know there there will be a lot of media and fight fans there. I am a fan friendly fighter, and it comes down to putting on a great show in front of all the boxing people in attendance.”

“I am 100% ready to get the victory on May 6th. We have to win this fight, and we will be ready for anything else that comes after.”

With 36 victories under his belt, lightweight contender Petr “Zar” Petrov holds an impressive boxing resume, included winning ESPN’s 2014 Boxcino Lightweight tournament. Petrov was last seen in April 2015 taking on former world champion Gamaliel “Platano” Diaz where he successfully defended his NABO and NABA Lightweight Titles via unanimous decision. As the current NABA Lightweight Title holder, Petrov will be looking to add another notable title to his name when he faces Quintero on May 6th.

HOLLYWOOD, FL. (April 29, 2016) – Undefeated lightweight world champion Rances “Kid Blast” Barthelemy (24-0, 13 KOs) will make his first title defense against former world champion Mickey “The Spirit” Bey (22-1-1, 10 KOs) in the main event of Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on Spike Friday, June 3 at the Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
Televised coverage begins at 9 p.m. ET/PT as unbeaten Puerto Rican prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez (14-0, 10 KOs) takes on hard-hitting Mexican Victor “Pitufo” Proa (28-1-2, 21 KOs) in a 10-round bantamweight affair.
“There were rumors that a fight between me and Mickey Bey was on the brink of happening prior to my fight against Denis Shafikov, so now that it is here, I know it was destined to happen,” said Barthelemy.  “I’m not a rookie anymore. I’m not going into this worried or nervous about it being my first title defense at 135. I’m comfortable enough now to see every fight as just another challenge I need to execute my game plan the most effectively and with the least amount of errors.”
“Barthelemy won my title, I had to vacate it due to a hand injury, so all he is doing is keeping it warm for me,” said Bey. “Training camp is going great. I have been training hard for over a month. I have the best team in the business, with the most knowledgeable trainers. I’m looking forward to the challenge with him being undefeated and a two-time world champion. We both have a lot of skills, so it will make an entertaining fight for sure.”
“I want to challenge all of the bantamweight champions to fight me so they can see a real athlete in the ring,” said Rodriguez. “I have been training hard. This is a lifestyle for me. I have been training since December and on June 3, I am going to deliver a knockout.”
“I’m excited about this opportunity against a good young fighter,” said Proa. “I’ve been training hard and feel like this is my time. I’m going to come forward and see what this guy can do.”

A Cuban amateur national champion, 29-year-old Barthelemyhas yet to taste defeat since turning pro in 2009. Born in Cuba but now fighting out of Las Vegas, he won a super featherweight world title in July 2014 by defeating Argenis Mendez in impressive fashion, and followed that up with a second round TKO victory over Angino Perez. After dominating former champion Antonio DeMarco in June, he won a world title in a second division when he impressively defeated Denis Shafikov in December.
Bey won his world title in 2014 with a decision victory over long reigning champion Miguel Vasquez. The 32-year-old vacated his title due to inactivity and injuries but returned in December to defeat previously unbeaten Naim Nelson by decision to earn himself a shot at the very title he vacated. Bey’s previous victories include defeats against Alan Herrera, Carlos Cardenas and Hector Velazquez.
At just 23-years-old, Rodriguez has been on a fast track towards a world title fight since turning pro in 2012. He made his U.S. debut in November by stopping Eliecer Aquino after previously taking down Gabor Molnar, Luis Hinojosa and Alex Rangel in 2015. The Manati, Puerto Rico-born fighter will bring his exciting style into the ring against another tough opponent on June 3.
Fighting out of Monterrey, Mexico, Proa will be fighting in the U.S. for the third time when he takes on Rodriguez on June 3. The 31-year-old was unbeaten in his first 28 pro starts and has won his last two bouts, including most recently a first round stoppage of Oswaldo Delgado in February.

Split-T Management signs World Amateur Sensation Marquis Moore; Set to make pro debut on tonight in Indianapolis

New York, NY (April 29, 2016) – Split-T Management is happy to announce the signing of International Golden Gloves Champion and two-time National Golden Gloves champion, Marquis Moore to a managerial contract. Moore, who was honorably discharged from the army after serving our country for 3 years, will be making his professional debut as a middleweight tonight in Indianapolis, IN on a card promoted by 4 Champs Promotions.

Moore, 25, was among the United States top amateur middleweights as he compiled a record of 140-15, highlighted by representing Team USA in many international events including winning the World National Golden Gloves as well as winning the gold medal in numerous national championships including the 2012 Armed Forces Championships, 2013 and 2014 National Golden Gloves, 2015 National PAL and US Olympic Trials Qualifiers.

Moore credits his relationship and trust with Split-T Management’s CEO David McWater with his decision to sign with the company.

“I signed with Split-T Management because of David McWater. I am very excited to have someone like him to guide my professional career. We first met in 2013 when I won the National Golden Gloves and learned he has been following my career for a while and our relationship built from there.” said Moore

“He has always believed in me and came through with everything he has promised.”

Said David McWater, “By the 2013 National Golden Gloves and I thought he was the best fighter in the tournament. He was so exciting of a fighter, and he was clearly the best amateur in the country at that time. At one point, he was undefeated for a 30 month period. He is a great fighter and a great guy and I’m thrilled to be part of his professional career.”

Moore, who was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado will continue to live there and train with world class trainer, Dickie Wood in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

“Living and training here is so beneficial for my career” says Moore. I’m living and training thousands of feet above sea level. I’m a gym rat as it is, but training here where the air so thin, makes me have such an advantage over my opponents because I will never got tired. I’m learning new things from Mr. Wood every day and I can’t wait to put my boxing on display for the world to see.”

Wood, who has worked with many world champions in the past, including: Stevie Johnston, Oleg Maskaev, Diego “Chico” Corrales, and Buddy McGirt, feels he has a budding superstar in his hands.

“He is a multi-talented fighter with a blend of skills, speed and power. I truly believe he can become world champion in two years!” Says Wood.

” I have worked with several world champions in the past and his talents are comparable to them at this early a stage of his career.”

Del Valle to battle Snow May 13 in Washington, DC!

Art of War Fighting Championship 17 Update – Ashleigh Grimshaw replaces Injured Junior Assuncao in Main Event

BEIJING, CHINA – A welterweight matchup between UFC and Bellator veteran Waylon Lowe and British Mixed Martial Artist Ashleigh Grimshaw will headline Art of War 17 this Saturday night in Beijing China. Grimshaw is late replacements for UFC vet Junior Assuncao who suffered a training injury and had to pull out of his fight with Lowe on short notice last week.

Said Lowe, a three time NCAA wrestling champion who is currently 16-6 as a professional fighter, “It’s unfortunate that Junior had to drop out of the fight but I’m glad the promoters found another high caliber opponent for me to face. Ashleigh Grimshaw and I will put on a great show for all the Chinese MMA fans on April 30th Art of War 17.”

Televised coverage begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT and features an explosive battle between light heavyweight sluggersEdwin “La Bomba” Rodriguez and Thomas “Top Dog” Williams Jr. plus unbeaten featherweight Jorge Lara taking on former multiple division world champion Fernando “Cucholito” Montiel.

Prior to the start of televised fights, an Official Fan Fest will be held for ticket holders outside of StubHub Center. “I’m an easy-going guy but this is boxing. He might hate me. I respect him, but I’m coming to take him down and out.
“I know what I’m here for and that’s a victory. As much talking as he’s done, it was a different guy that showed up today.
“This is a totally different fight than five years ago. We’re different people. I’m a different guy and so is he.
“Saturday is right around the corner and I’m here. I see loss in his eyes. I’m ready. 100 percent.
“This is a whole new chapter in my saga. I feel like this is my time once again. I’ve only fought in my prime twice. I did a lot of damage at young age. I feel I’m in my prime now. The sky is the limit.
“I feel very at peace being back in Ventura to train. We’re going to capture another world title. We went to training camp for that purpose. My mind is set on being one of the greatest.”

“We had an amazing camp. The situation five years ago, there’s no reason to keep speaking on that. I’m a better man today. I put in the work for this one.

LAS VEGAS (April 28, 2016) – Fresh off of its wildly successful inaugural event, “Knockout Night at the D” returns Saturday night, May 21, with the second event of its 2016 series, as undefeated middleweight Arif “The Predator” Magomedov takes on upset-minded Andrew “Hurricane” Hernandez in the 10-round main event, airing (8 p.m. PT / 11 p.m. ET) live on CBS Sports Network from under the neon lights at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center (DLVEC) outdoor venue.

Magomedov (17-0, 10 KOs), who is promoted by Main Events, is rated among the top 15 middleweights by the four major sanctioning bodies:  WBC #2, WBO #3, WBA #5 and IBF #14.  The gifted Russian (pictured to right) captured his NABO title belt 10 months ago, winning a 10-round unanimous decision against previously undefeated Derrick Webster (19-0).  Last December in his most recent action, Magomedov (pictured to right) stopped Jonathan Tavira in the seventh round.

The 30-year-old Hernandez (pictured to left), also known as “The Pride of Phoenix,” has pulled off his fair share of upsets.  In 2015, Hernandez stopped 17-1 Jeff Page, Jr., whose only other loss was to 2-time Russian Olympian and current world light heavyweight contenderArtur Beterbiev, in the 10th round of their UBF Inter-continental super middleweight title fight.  Hernandez also upset 12-0 Jerry Odum last year at Madison Square Garden Theater.
In his last fight this past March, Hernandez won in Tacoma when veteran Dionisio Miranda (22-14-2) was unable to answer the bell for the 8th round.
In the 8-round co-feature, super middleweight John “The Phenom” Vera (12-0, 8 KOs), of Fort Worth, Texas, puts his unbeaten record and NABA-USA title belt on the line against Phoenix’ popular Joey “Boxer” Ruelas (10-1-1, 4 KOs).
Seventeen-year-old lightweight sensation Devin “The Dream” Haney (5-0, 3 KOs), of Las Vegas, is scheduled to open the televised portion of the card in a 4-round bout versus an opponent to be determined.  A 7-time national amateur champion, Haney is recognized as one of the top teenage boxing prospects in the world.
Unbeaten Virginian Jerren “Hardknocks” Cochran (11-0-1, 4 KOs) takes on former WBC Youth International titlist, Dallas southpaw Tony Lopez (10-1, 3 KOs), in a 6-round featherweight match serving as a television “swing bout.”
Also scheduled to fight on the undercard in 4-round matches, versus opponents to be determined, are two of Las Vegas’ most promising prospects,- junior lightweight Randy Moreno (2-0, 1 KO), and welterweight Jeremy “J-Flash” Nichols (3-0, 2 KOs).

WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 28, 2016) – Four of the top super middleweights in the world shared a stage Thursday afternoon as Badou Jack, Lucian Bute, James DeGale and Rogelio Medina participated in the final press conference for their fights this Saturday, April 30 on  SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING from the DC Armory in Wash28ington, D.C.

 

Televised coverage begins at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT live on SHOWTIMEâ and features the WBC champion Jack battling the former champion Bute, while the IBF titleholder DeGale takes on the top rated contender Medina. The winners of these fights have agreed to meet in a world title unification later this year.

“Both of us can punch, both of us can box. Anything can happen inside of that ring. I’m always ready to go 12 rounds. Everyone knows that I’m always in shape.

 

“Anything can happen, but I want to fight James DeGale. First I have to take care of business with Lucian Bute. Both of us are in our primes. We’re young and confident and it would be a great fight.

 

“I have to take care of this former champion. He’s a really good fighter. Some people say it’s a 50-50 fight so I have to take this very seriously.

 

“I’m still training and preparing for this fight like I’m the challenger. That’s how I prepare for every fight and this is no different.

 

“A lot of people wrote me off and I came back stronger. I love when people doubt me. I come back stronger and show people I’m a world class fighter.

 

“I’ve always believed in myself. I’m mentally strong and I work hard. I had a setback but it just made me hungrier and it made me a better fighter.”

“I feel very excited. I’m ready to go because of the long layoff. It has been a while but I have been in the gym. I’ve been training for many months and even though I haven’t had a fight, I have been training.

 

“I think that DeGale has a lot of good qualities as a fighter and I think that the fight is going to be very intense because I’ve been training hard for it. I’ve been training to put pressure on him and to make it an intense fight and try and knock him out.

 

“I’ve noticed that he’s a quick fighter, he’s fast. He’s got good technique but I also see that he sometimes likes to stand and trade and I hope that he decides to stand and trade with me so we can give the fans a good fight.

 

“A win would be the biggest moment of my career. It would have a lot of significance. Historically in Mexico I would become only the second super middleweight champion, which would be very important to boxing and myself.”

On Tuesday, Porter visited with “The Breakfast Club” on POWER 105 while Thurman paid a visit to CBS This Morning to promote their highly anticipated showdown and stake their claim as the present and future of the welterweight division.

LAS VEGAS (April 28, 2016) – World Series of Fighting (www.WSOF.com) announced today that it has signed heavyweight knockout artists Shawn Jordan (18-7) and Lorenzo “The Dream Killer” Hood (9-3) to exclusive, multi-fight agreements.

Hood of Chicago, Ill. has been tabbed to make his promotional debut against an opponent to be announced soon, at the WSOF31: Ivanov vs. Copeland world heavyweight championship event at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn. onFriday, June 17, live on NBCSN at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

“We are thrilled to welcome Shawn Jordan and Lorenzo Hood to our ever-growing roster of world-class athletes, and look forward to seeing both of them compete in our heavyweight division soon,” said World Series of Fighting President Ray Sefo.

Fighting out of Albuquerque, N.M., the 6-foot, 30-year-old Jordan is coming off a 4-year, 10 fight stint with the UFC, during which he compiled an overall record of 6-4, notching all of his wins, including a vicious, first round (:59) decimation of Pat “HD” Barry on June 15, 2013, by way of (T)KO.

A two-time veteran of the now-defunct Strikeforce, and a four-time veteran of Bellator action, Jordan has earned 14 of his 18 career victories by way of (T)KO, and another 3 via submission.

The 6-foot-3, 27-year-old Hood, a former professional football player turned MMA wrecking machine, has earned all 9 of his professional career victories to date by way of (T)KO inside the first round of action.

After an aggressive debut year in 2009 in which he competed 7 times and amassed a near-perfect record of 6-1, Hood walked away from the fight world for a span of 5 years to play defensive lineman in the Arena Football League and Canadian Football League, eventually returning to the cage in 2014.
