Banner Promotions Partners with Twitter to stream WBO Lightweight World Championship Bout

Banner Promotions is pleased to announce that it will live-stream the WBO Lightweight world championship bout between undefeated champion Terry Flanagan and number-two contender Petr Petrov live exclusively on Twitter in the United States ce samedi.

Flanagan, 27 âgé, has made defenses of former world champion Mzonke Fana as well as his last bout when he stopped Orlando Cruz in eight-rounds on November 26th.

Posthumous non-participant inductees are Brooklyn boxing historian Hank Kaplan, Long Island cut-man Al Gavin, Bronx referee Arthur Donovan and New York City columnist Et Parker.

BETHLEHEM, Pennsylvanie. (Avril 5, 2017) – Former title challenger Edner Cherry (36-7-2, 19 KOs) won a competitive decision over Omar Douglas (17-2, 12 PRIX) dans l'événement principal dePremier Champions de boxe MARDIS TOE-to-toe sur FS1 et Champions de boxe sur Fox Deportes Mardi night from Sands Bethlehem Events Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvanie.
Cherry came out aggressive from the opening bell, landing a strong left hook and backing up Douglas early and often over the first few rounds. Douglas attempted to control the fight with his jab and movement and had some success moving his head to avoid many of the power punches from Cherry.
Douglas did well as he increased his attack to the body in the middle rounds and continued to move backward to avoid the power punches being thrown by Cherry. The differing styles left the judges with a decision to make in weighing the movement and technique of Douglas versus the aggression of Cherry.
À la fin, the consistency of Cherry’s attack, who frequently targeted Douglas with combinations to the head, was more effective in the minds of the judges. The final score totals were 98-92 et 96-94 twice for Cherry.
Additional action featured Philadelphia’s Stephen Fulton (11-0, 5 KOs) earning a unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Luis Rosario (8-1-1, 7 KOs) in their eight-round super bantamweight contest.
Rosario was the more aggressive fighter in the early rounds, but it was Fulton who timed his opponent first and built up an early lead with a combination of check hooks and power punches. Fulton was patient against the attack-minded Rosario and was able to counter effectively while avoiding Rosario’s power punches.
Fulton continued to have success in the middle rounds as Rosario’s attack slowed, but the Puerto Rican fighter came out with an increased level of aggression in round seven and tagged Fulton during several exciting exchanges.
Despite the increasing pressure, Fulton was able to stay composed and fend off Rosario over the final two rounds on his way to winning a unanimous decision by scores of 78-74, 79-73 et 80-72.
The opening bout of the telecast saw Bethlehem’s Frank DeAlba (22-2-2, 9 KOs) marquer une décision unanime sur Ryan Kielczweski (26-3, 8 KOs) dans un huit rondes super-plume combat.
The hometown fighter got off to a slow start as Kielczweski appeared to control the early rounds using his movement and tagging the southpaw with right hands. DeAlba began to work on the inside of his opponent and found more success starting in the fourth round.
Once he had closed the distance, DeAlba began to land hooks to the head and smothered much of Kielczweski’s offense. With an increased emphasis on body-punching in the late rounds, DeAlba turned the tide of the fight in the judges’ minds and earned a unanimous decision by scores of 77-75 deux fois et 80-72.

“Fulton is a good boxer. He did not want to fight man-to-man, but he moved well. He was shying away from exchanging with me.
“I thought it was a close fight that could have gone either way. I blocked a lot of his punches with my gloves.”

His rise to boxing stardom has been meteoric, as he has gone from an unknown fighter from Chelyabinsk, Russia to headlining HBO Pay-Per-View in just four years after signing with his first promoter, Événements principaux. Las Vegas (Avril 4, 2017) – La salle de boxe de la renommée du Nevada a confirmé qu'ils apparaissent et ont un stand pour rencontrer & Accueillir les fans au Las Vegas Convention Center pour la 3ème édition du Expo Fan Box qui aura lieu samedi mai 6, 2017 Pendant le week-end Cinco De Mayo. La boxe Expo coïncidera également avec la méga lutte entre Canelo Alvarez vs Julio Cesar Chavez jr, qui aura lieu plus tard ce soir.
La salle de boxe de la renommée du Nevada apparaîtra une fois de plus à cette année’ Expo et seront rejoints par des combattants top, les légendes et les célébrités de boxe qui seront des gants de signature, des photos et des marchandises.

Le NVBHOF a été fondée en 2012 par le président Rich Marotta et exploité actuellement par le nouveau président Michelle Lewis-Corrales. Leur mission est de boxeurs d'honneur et ceux associés aux sports qui ont contribué à l'avancement de la boxe dans le Nevada. Ils sont un organisme sans but lucratif dont le produit, après déduction des frais, être distribués aux organismes de bienfaisance liés boxe, besoins spéciaux anciens boxeurs, la boxe de la jeunesse, Nevada gymnases de boxe, et d'autres organisations dignes. BAY AREA, COMME (Avril 3, 2017) – Unbeaten super-lightweight prospect, Mario Barrios (18-0, 10 KOs), is back in the Bay Area, COMME, training with coach Virgil Hunter. After scoring a TKO in his last bout on March 4e, Barrios returns to the gym, motivated to get back in the ring.
“It feels good to be back in the gym training with Virgil.” said Mario Barrios a native of San Antonio, TX. “Seeing all the guys in the gym, getting ready for their fights, has me fired up. As soon as my team lets me know when I’ll be fighting next, I’ll be ready to get back in the ring and continue my march toward a world title.”
Look for Barrios to get back in the ring shortly. No date is set, but an announcement will be coming soon.
“Although I don’t have a date set, my goal is to be ready at all times.” Barrios a continué. “Coming out to California from Texas, to start training early, will only make me a better fighter. I know all the hard work and sacrifice will pay off in the end.

Melson to serve as keynote speaker at the New York Future Business Leaders of America Annual State Leadership Conference April 5-7

New York, New York (Avril 3, 2017) – Retired professional boxer, present-day motivational speaker and United States Army Public Affairs Reserve Officer, Capt. Boyd Melson will be a keynote speaker at the 2017 Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Leadership Conference Avril 5-7 in Rochester, NY at the Riverside Convention Center.

 

A former WBC-USNBC boxing champion at 154 livres, Melson helped raise more than $400,000 for Spinal Cord Injury research and other causes between his fight purses and charity galas. En Mars, la 2003 West Point graduate completed the Army’s Public Affairs Qualification Course now officially allowing him to serve in the Army Reserve as a Public Affairs Officer. Melson has served in the U.S. Army Reserve for eight years after he completed five years of Active Duty service in the United States Army.

 

As a public and motivational speaker, Melson’s addressed diverse audiences including elementary to college aged students, Army Battalions, Army Corps level leadership, college sports teams, Fortune 500 companies and religious organizations.

 

Plus tôt cette année, the well-rounded Melson announced he plans on running for United States Congress during the 2018 elections. Melson, with the help of tremendous individuals on Staten Island, NY stepping up to volunteer their time and space, is currently running free weekly boxing clinics on Staten Island to help men and women battling or overcoming addiction.

 

The largest career student organization in the world, FBLA is for middle school, high school, and college students interested in learning about free enterprise systems. Nationally recognized throughout the United States, FBLA helps prepare students for careers in business and to become better employees and citizens. Melson was told he’ll address 600-800 high school students.

 

Melson will close out the three-day event by providing a half-hour speech to all in attendance. He will also serve as a judge during the FBLA’s student competitions.

 

“I received an email a few months back from the NY FBLA leadership stating that they were present when I spoke at Congressman Patrick Maloney’s Service Academy Nomination Workshop for high schools students,», A déclaré Melson. “They said that that speech is what prompted them to invite me to speak at this event and share my story. I was told that the theme for this year’s conference is “Suit Up, Step Up.” Well I have a great deal of internal fire I am happy to share with members of our nature’s future attending the conference. I thank the love in this universe dearly for giving me another opportunity to use my abilities hopefully offering a perspective that helps at least one person want to suit up and step up. If I was independently wealthy, I would wish my life would be me traveling around to students each and every day hoping to help them lift their own lives up.”
