RIP Desmond Hammond

Lecture, Pennsylvanie (Novembre 14, 2017) – King’s Promotions is deeply saddened at the passing of Desmond Hammond.

Hammond of Reading, Pennsylvania passed away lundi morning at the age of 35. He was at his home and surrounded by his family.
Hammond was the Director of Operations for King’s Promotions for the better part of the last three years. He was the nephew of King’s Promotions CEO Marshall Kauffman.
“This is such a sad day for my family and for everyone who knew Desmond,” dit Kauffman.
“Desmond was like a son to me. He is my sister’s son, and he is basically the same age as my children so we are extremely close. Desmond came to boxing just a few years ago and he picked up the business so fast. We have run more shows then anybody in the country, and they all have come off so smoothly. That was because of Desmond. He was on top of every detail, which made the events go off without a hitch. But most of all he was very selfless and caring. He was always there for someone in need. He was a great young man, who was very smart, and he was always joking. It was such an honor for me to have him on board with King’s Promotions. He was such a special person who was loved and will be missed so much.”
Besides Kauffman and his family, Hammond is survived by his mother Sheri Clark, sisters Lynchel Hammond and Raven Hammond, brother Steven Brandon, his daughter Dayana, newborn son Donovan and his girlfriend Alisha.

Jesse Angel Hernandez Cements Himself as a Super Bantamweight Contender with Impressive Unanimous Decision Over Glenn Dezurn

The Fort Worth, Texas, super bantamweight express named Jesse Angel Hernandez continued to pick up momentum last Saturday night, as he took his second consecutive undefeated record away, this time from Baltimore’s Glenn Dezurn.
Fighting on the Danny Jacobs vs. Luis Arias and Jarrell Miller vs. Mariusz Wach undercard at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, Hernandez (maintenant 10-1, 7 KOs) used his height and reach advantages to maximum effect while scoring an eight-round unanimous decision over Dezurn (maintenant 9-1-1, 6 KOs).
Despite a game showing from Dezurn, 26-year-old Hernandez was able to keep Dezurn at bay while landing long power shots. When Dezurn was able to make it inside, Hernandez would simply push him back. At the end of eight entertaining rounds, les juges’ scorecards read 79-73, 78-74, et 77-75, all for Hernandez.

“Things are going great. I feel like I’m with the right team,” Saïd Hernandez. “Salita believed in me like I believe in myself. I will talk to my team and we’re looking forward to fighting again in January or February.”

HAMPTON, New Hampshire (Novembre 13, 2017) – Granite Chin Promotions invades the Granite State on Samedi, Décembre 9, showcasing some of New England’s top professional boxers on the “Rumble at The Rim” carte, at The Rim in Hampton, New Hampshire.

We have teamed up with a great charity, Hampton Youth Association. CLEVELAND (Novembre. 11, 2017) – Two Cleveland boxers stole the show Vendredi night in the final ShoBox: La Nouvelle Génération télédiffusion de 2017 survivre AFFICHER L'HEURE.

In the telecast’s first fight, heralded Cleveland boxer and 2016 U.S.. Olympian Charles Conwell made his television debut and improved to 6-0. But it was the Evans-Rosa fight that fans won’t soon forget.

“What a way to end a great year of boxing on SHOWTIME,», A déclaré ShoBox analyste Steve Farhood. “Rosa vs. Evans was one of the best main events we have had in the 16 years of the ShoBox série. These were two fighters that understood what was at stake. They both did what they came here to do. À la fin, it was all up to the judges. I thought they got it right. It was a split decision. Great action fight between two very well-conditioned fighters.”

The Evans-Rosa war included 611 total connected punches and 512 landed power shots were exchanged. There were multiples shifts of momentum throughout the fight as Rosa commanded the early rounds with volume and power while Evans rallied in the middle rounds.

 

“I’m tired but I’m feeling great,” Evans said. “My performance was great. I’ve never felt myself pushed that hard. He’s a tough Puerto Rican. He’s a very tough fighter. The crowd really propelled me to victory tonight, and I’m grateful for that.”

 

Rosa led 268-267 in total connected punches entering the final round, but Evans summoned a huge rally in the 10th (49 de 103 à 27 de 88 for Rosa) to seize a 316-295 overall lead to earn the split-decision victory.

The victory also earned Kahn-Clary the WBA-NABA Featherweight Title.
This will be Kahn-Clary’s first fight in Providence since his professional debut in June 2012. The 25-year-old will be making his fourth start of 2017 with prior victories this year against Angel Luna and Francisco Medel.
Just 23-years-old, Moralde will be fighting for the first time in the United States. Holder of the WBC Asian Boxing Council Featherweight Title, Moralde is coming off a third-round stoppage of Philip Parcon on February 28, 2017 in General Santos City, Philippines.
The heavy handed Moralde is on a three-bout knockout streak, two of which came in the first round.
Co-featured on the outstanding card and also making his U.S. debut is Undefeated Italian Cruiserweight Contender FABIO “Stone Crusher” TURCHI, (12-0-0, 9 KO), of Florence, Italy in an eight-round clash.
In a six-round featherweight clash, popular, undefeated Worcester, MA native IRVIN GONZALEZ, (7-0-0, 6 KO) batailles ERNESTO Garza, (9-2-0, 5 KO), of Saginaw, MON.
The heavy-handed Gonzalez started his professional career with six knockouts, all of which took place in the first two rounds. Most recently the 21-year-old won an eight round unanimous decision over Raul Lopez on June 10, 2017.
Riding a modest two-bout winning streak, the 29-year-old Garza returns to action following a six round unanimous decision over Edward Kakembo on August 25, 2017 in Warren, MON.
Junior welterweights will see action in a scheduled eight rounder with NICK DELOMBA, (11-2-0, 2 KO), Cranston, R.I., affrontant LOUIS CRUZ, (12-3-0, 6 KO), du Bronx, New York.
The 27-year-old DeLomba looks to move back into the win column after a very hard fought 10-round decision loss to Jimmy Williams on April 7, 2017 à Lincoln, R.I.

Intriguing Super Bantamweight Match-up This Weekend on Jacobs vs. Arias Undercard
On the untelevised undercard of this weekend’s “Danny Jacobs vs. Luis Arias and Jarrell Miller vs. Mariusz Wach” blockbuster boxing event is an intriguing super bantamweight duel between undefeated prospects.
Jesse Angel Hernandez (9-1, 7 KOs) de Fort Worth, Texas, and Baltimore’s Glenn Dezurn (9-0-1, 6 KOs) are set to collide at NYCB LIVE: Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, cette Samedi, Novembre 11.

The 26-year-old southpaw Hernandez was last seen on Août 4 of this year at MGM Grand Detroit, and televised live nationally on ShoBox: La Nouvelle Génération, where he employed a wicked body attack to stop Russia’s favored Vladimir Tikhonov in round five.
