Two More Fights Announced for Heavyweight Factory’s “Rumble at the Rock 2” on Friday, Sept. 28 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino – Hollywood

More exciting bouts have been announced for “Rumble at the Rock 2,” professional boxing event, presented by Kris Lawrence and The Heavyweight Factory, taking place on Friday, Sept. 28 in the Hard Rock Event Center at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla.

 

 

 

In the night’s 10-round co-main event, Miami via Ekibastuz, Kazakhstan’s Mussa “Warrior” Tursyngaliyev (7-0, 6 KOs) will now take on Monteira, Colombia’s Deivi “El Cabo” Bassa (20-5, 12 KOs) over 10 rounds for the WBA International Featherweight Championship.

 

 

 

In an important “All Florida” bout, promising undefeated welterweight Livan “Machine Gun Kid” Navarro (8-0, 5 KOs), a former heavily decorated amateur from Miami (via Cuba) will face once-beaten former WBC Latino Welterweight Champion Armando “The Gentleman” Alvarez (18-1, 12 KOs) of Key West.

 

 

 

Both of these terrific showdowns are in support of the night’s 10-round main event with Honolulu, Hawaii’s undefeated Logan “The Korican Kid” Yoon (12-0, 10 KOs) defending his WBO-NABO Youth Junior Welterweight Championship against former WBA Fedecentro Super Lightweight, WBA Fedecaribe Welterweight and WBA Fedecentro Welterweight Champion John “El Emperador” Rentería (16-4-1, 12 KOs) of Panama.

Perez wins New Jersey State Super Middleweight Title with decision over Aikens in Atlantic City Classic

ATLANTIC CITY (September 10, 2018)–DeCarlo Perez and Antowyan Aikens lived up to the pre-fight hype of a knockdown- dragout war that eventually saw Perez eek out an eight-round unanimous decision on  Saturday night at The Bourbon Room inside the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City.

 

The bout between Atlantic City rivals, which gave Perez the New Jersey State Super Middleweight title, headlined an terrific 10-bout card promoted by Rising Star Promotions.

 

 

The fight saw Perez push the action early as he buckled Aikens into the ropes in the 2nd round. Not only did Aikens stem the tide, but came back emphatically, as he landed a perfect right that sent Perez to the canvas.

 

Now with Aikens seemingly in control. Perez came back the very next round to land a perfect left hook that put Aikens on the canvas. It looked like Perez would be able to end the fight, but Aikens came back and stood toe-to-tow with Perez, and gave as good he received.

 

With a cut over his left eye, Perez was able to box his way down the stretch of the fight, which thrilled the capacity crowd and the Showboat Hotel.

 

 

 

Perez of Atlantic City won by scores of 77-72, 76-74 and 75-74 to improve to 17-6-1.  Aikens of Atlantic City is 13-5-1.

 

 

 

“Antowyan surprised me on how he was able to be so consistent.  When he did knock me down, I was able to stay calm, and keep my composure.  I said to myself was to stay calm, I still have rounds and I tasted his power.  I knocked him down, and I knew we were even, and I just wanted to win the last few rounds.  He started out the rounds strong, but my pressure not only influenced the judges, but began to break him down. He started punching out of fear instead of skill,” said Perez.  “As long as I stayed consistent and kept my pressure, I knew that I would prevail.”

 

 

 

Said Aikens, “It was a good fight.  It was an action packed fight.  We both landed some good shots.  They gave it to him based off of his knockdown,” said Aikens.  “After I knocked him down, I should have slowed up and took my time.  In the next round, he caught me with a good shot.  There were a lot of things said in the build up to this fight, and I fought off of a lot of anger.  I will be back.  I am a real fighter.  All champions don’t win belts.”

 

 

 

 

 

In a battle of New Jersey based junior welterweights, John Bauza remained undefeated with a six-round unanimous decision over Rashad Bogar

 

In round three, Bauza dropped Bogar with a straight left hand.

 

Bauza cruised home with the victory by scores of 60-53 on all cards.

 

Bauza, 139 lbs of North Bergen, NJ is 11-0. Bogar, 139 lbs of Newark, NJ is 4-8-1.

 

Omar Salem stopped Mike Anderson at the end of round one of their scheduled four round middleweight bout.

 

Salem dominated the only frame, and Anderson said he could not continue due to an arm injury.

 

Salem, 165 lbs of Brooklyn, NY is 4-0 with one knockout. Anderson, 165.5 lbs of Philadelphia is 0-3.

 

 

Isaiah Hart made a thrilling pro debut with a 2nd round stoppage of Dillon Kasprzak in a middleweight bout.

 

In round one, Hart knocked Kasprzak with a hard left hook. Hart came out in round two by landing two hard lefts and a flusg right, and the fight was stopped at 16 seconds.

 

Hart, 160.7 lbs of Atlantic City is 1-0 with one knockout. Kasprzak, 159 lbs of Philadelphia is 0-2.

 

 

Nahir Albright pounded out a four-round unanimous decision over Glenford Nickey in a junior welterweight bout.

 

Albright, 140 lbs of Philadelphia won by scores of 40-36 twice and 40-35 to raise his record to 4-1. Nickey, 140 lbs of Brooklyn is 4-2.

 

 

Jahmal Dyer stopped Marco Lugo in the final round of their scheduled four-round lightweight bout.

 

In round one, Dyer dropped Lugo with a left hook to the head. Dyer sealed the fight in round four, when he dropped Lugo with a hard right hand. Dyer ended things when he landed a huge right that sent Lugo back that opened up a barrage of hard punches, and the fight was stopped at 1:29.

 

Dyer, 132.9 lbs of Baltimore is now 6-1 with four knockouts. Lugo, 131 lbs of Vineland, NJ is 0-2.

 

 

 

 

 

Ryan Wilczak remained undefeated with a four-round unanimous decision over Alberto Delgado in a middleweight fight.

 

Wilczak, 158 lbs of Scranton, PA won by scores of 40-36 and 39-37 twice and is now 7-0. Delgado, 160.9 lbs of Roanoke, VA is 0-4-3.

 

 

Ry’Shine Collins made an emphatic pro debut by stopping Lucky Holt in the 1st round of their scheduled four-round super bantamweight bout.

 

Collins landed a series of hard body shots that put Holt down, and the fight was stopped at

 

Collins, 122.3 lbs of Philadelphia is 1-0 with one knockout. Holt, 120.8 lbs of Hannibal, MO is 0-3.

 

 

Kashon Hutchinson won a four-round unanimous decision over Steve Moore in a welterweight bout.

 

Hutchinson, 145.3 lbs of Reading, PA won by scores of 40-36 twice and 39-37 to raise his mark to 4-5. Moore, 144.1 lbs of Orange, NJ is 1-5.

 

 

Travis Toledo remained undefeated by stopping Tahlik Taylor in round two of their scheduled four-round light-heavyweight bout.

 

In round two, Toledo dropped Taylor with a big left hook. Seconds later, it was a body shot that sent Taylor to the canvas, and the fight was halted at 2:02.

 

Toledo, 172,3 lbs of Baltimore, MD is 2-0 with two knockouts. Taylor, 175.3 lbs of Greensboro, NC is 3-12-1.

 

 

 

Rising Star Promotions will be back at The Showboat on Saturday, November 3rd with the return of world ranked Thomas LaManna appearing in the main event.  Also announced for the card will be a battle for the New Jersey State Middleweight title as Chris Thomas defends his title against Eddie Edmonds.

FIGHT NIGHT AT THE SCOTTISH RITE 2

SAN ANTONIO, TX (September 9, 2018) – Last night TMB & PRB Entertainment presented “Fight Night at the Scottish Rite 2” a ten-bout card that took place at the Scottish Rite Theatre in downtown San Antonio.  In the six-round main event, local fighters, Gilbert Venegas and Armando Cardenas gave the fans a crowd-pleasing showdown.
Cardenas, who had the height and reach advantage, was doing his best to box from the outside, but was getting caught with overhand rights by Venegas. At the end of round two, Venegas dropped Cardenas with a looping right hand. Cardenas wasn’t hurt to bad and came back strong in round three. Venegas then started landing pounding body shots, slowing down Cardenas’ comeback. Another overhand right by Venegas dropped Cardenas for the second time in round four. Venegas followed with a vicious left hook to the body that put Cardenas down once again in round three. Cardenas was badly hurt but made it to the final round. Both fighters went out with a blaze of glory as they went toe to toe in the last seconds of round six. Venegas remains undefeated winning by unanimous decision, improving his record to (10-0, 6 KOs), while Armando Cardenas’ record stands at (9-2, 5 KOs). Scorecards unavailable.
4-Round Super Featherweight Bout
Richard Medina (1-0, 1 KO) defeated. Jonathan Ewer (0-7)
17-year old amateur standout Richard Medina made his highly anticipated pro debut.  He made easy work of a game Johnathan Ewer.  Medina’s speed and power was on display as he landed several combinations in the opening round, dropping Ewer twice.   In round two, Ewer was in survivor mode, but was unable to escape the attack of Medina. An overhand right dropped Ewer for good in round three, ending the bout at the 1:54 mark.
6-Round Lightweight Bout
Xavier Wilson (8-0-1, 1 KO) vs. Christian Santibanez (5-7-1, 3 KOs)
In a very entertaining bout, Xavior Wilson and Christian Santibanez, who had bad blood going into the fight, put on a great show for the fans. In the early rounds both fighters were landing solid blows to the head and body. A straight right hand from Wilson hurt Sanibanez toward the end of round two. Sanibanez recovered well and came back in round three, landing some nice hooks of his own to the head of Wilson. The fight was going back and forth as both fighters were giving the fans their money’s worth. Though both fighters had their moments, the fight ended in a Majority draw. Scorecards read 58-56 for Wilson and 57-57 twice. The decision upset Sanibanez and he stormed out of the ring, leaving the photographers empty handed.
4-Round Middleweight Bout
Luis Villareal (3-0-1, 1 KOs) defeated Stetson Horne (0-2)
In a close fight, Luis Villareal edged out Stetson Horne over four rounds. Villareal applied pressure from the opening bell, forcing Horne to box from the outside. Villareal was the busier fighter who landed the cleaner shots and won by unanimous decision. Scorecards read 39-37 for Villareal.
4-Round Super Bantamweight Bout
Gregory Morales (5-0, 3 KO) defeated Jorge De Leon (0-4)
San Antonio native, Gregory Morales looking sensational in his bout with Jorge De Leon. Morales was landing hard power shots to the body and head right out the gate. A solid right hook dropped De Leon at the beginning of round two. After De Leon got up, Morales went for the kill and landed a flurry of punches, forcing the referee to stop the bout at the 1:10 mark of round two.
6-Round Heavyweight Bout
Johnathan Rice (8-3-1, 4 KOs) defeated Terrell Woods (17-43-7, 11 KOs)
Los Angeles native, Johnathan Rice used a nice jab to win his bout against a game Terrel Woods. At the end of round two, Rice dropped Woods with a nice right hook, forcing the ref to give him a standing eight count. Rice would cruise to a unanimous victory. Scorecards read 60-54 all in favor of Rice.
4-Round Middleweight Bout
Steven Ramos (4-0, 2 KOs) defeated Fabian Cancino (1-7)
Local fighters, Steven Ramos and Fabian Cancino went the distance in their respective matchup. Both fighters started off slow but started to engage more toward the later rounds. Ramos landed more power shots throughout the fight and won by unanimous decision. Scorecards read: 40-36 across the board for Ramos.
6-Round Bantamweight Bout
Victor Pasillas (13-0, 6 KOs) defeated Manuel Rubalcava (4-29)
Fighting for the second time in 2018, Victor Pasillas dominated his opponent Manuel Rubalcava from the opening bell. The onslaught started when Pasillas, a southpaw, landed power shot after power shot in round one. A devastating right hook to the body by Pasillas sent Rubalcava to the canvas and ended the bout at the 1:55 mark of round two.
4-Round Welterweight Bout
Jairo Castaneda (10-1, 3 KOs) defeated Jesse Gutierrez (17-8, 9 KOs)
At 43 years of age, Jesse Gutierrez, who hadn’t fought in over 15 years, put up a good fight against the younger foe Jario Castaneda. Castaneda landed clean shots throughout the entire fight. Although Gutierrez gave the crowed an inspired, he came up short losing a unanimous decision. Scorecards read 40-36 and 39-37 twice
4-Round Middleweight Bout
Patrick Clarke (2-0-1, 2 KOs) Eddie Tigs (2-7-4)
In a battle of local middleweights, Eddie Tigs and Patrick Clarke went the distance in a 4-round bout. Tigs was the boxer using lateral movement to pick his shots, while Clarke applied pressure landing power shots. Both fighters had their moments, but the fight ended in a split draw. Scorecards read 39-37 for Wilson and 38-38 twice.

 BROOKLYN (September 9, 2018) – Shawn Porter became WBC Welterweight World Champion Saturday night as he earned a narrow unanimous decision victory over Danny Garcia in a hotly contested fight live on SHOWTIME from Barclays Center, the home of BROOKLYN BOXING™, in an event presented by Premier Boxing Champions.

 

 

 

All three judges scored the fight in favor of Porter (116-112, 115-113, 115-113) in an electrifying fight in front of 13,058 fans at the 30th professional boxing event at Barclays Center. (Video highlights here: https://s.sho.com/2MWXfRj)

 

 

 

 

Porter earned the belt that Keith Thurman, who previously defeated Porter and Garcia, was forced to vacate due to an injury.

 

 

 

In an anticipated title fight that was widely regarded as a 50-50 contest in boxing’s deepest division, Garcia vs. Porter played out as advertised. The difference in total power punches landed throughout the 12-round battle was just five, with Garcia holding the narrow advantage.

 

 

 

In a matchup of accuracy vs. activity, Porter looked to outworked Garcia. He was relentless in his attack and threw 742 total punches and 544 power punches, landing 25 percent. Garcia, on the other hand, was the more precise fighter, landing the higher percentage and more meaningful punches. He connected on 46 percent of the 304 power punches he threw. Due to the contrasting styles, the three judges were only able to all agree on four rounds.

 

 

 

“I made a prediction and a hard one to live up to,” said Porter. “I said I wasn’t leaving New York without this belt and I’m not leaving New York without this belt. I knew he was going to be accurate. The game plan for me was to be accurate from the outside and show I could beat him without roughing him up on the ropes.”

 

 

 

A disappointed Garcia clearly disagreed with the judges’ scorecards.

 

 

 

“He was throwing a lot,” said Garcia, who falls to 7-2 in world title fights. “I had my defense tight, so I wasn’t feeling his punches. I thought I landed the clearer shots and won this fight.

“I have to sit back, relax and see what’s next for me.”

 

 

 

Following the announcement of the decision, IBF welterweight champion and consensus top-five pound-for-pound fighter Errol Spence Jr. entered the ring to challenge the newly crowned WBC champion to what would be a blockbuster unification bout.

 

 

 

“The same way that you called Danny out, I’m going to call you out”, said Spence. “I think I’m the best welterweight in the division. I’m ‘The Truth’ and I guarantee you I come home as unified champion. I definitely want that fight against Porter.”

 

 

 

It was a star-studded night at Barclays as current and former world champions attended the fights, including Spence, Mikey Garcia, Jarrett Hurd, Gervonta Davis, Adrien Broner, Andre Berto, Claressa Shields, Keith Thurman and Jermell and Jermall Charlo.

 

 

 

In the co-featured event of SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING, consensus top-10 welterweight Yordenis Ugas (23-3, 11 KOs) out boxed Argentina’s Cesar Miguel Barrionuevo (34-4-2, 24 KOs) on his way to a dominating unanimous decision victory (119-109, 120-108, 120-108). With the win in the WBC title eliminator, Ugas earns the WBC’s second mandatory position to fight Porter.

 

 

 

In a tactical performance, Ugas dictated the pace from the opening bell and looked comfortable throughout the 12 rounds. He was the more effective fighter from the outset, landing 55 percent of his power punches and 35 percent of his total punches. Barrionuevo, who was facing a big step-up in competition, was never able to trouble the former Olympic bronze medalist out of Cuba, despite throwing more punches.

 

 

 

Barrionuevo connected on just 26 percent of his power punches and 19 percent of his total punches. Ugas was the far more accurate puncher connecting on 55 percent of his power punches and 35 percent of his total punches, including a wild multi-punch assault on Barrionuevo in the eighth round.

 

 

 

“We won today and I think I showed everybody my talent,” said Ugas, who improves to 8-0 at 147 pounds. “I’m happy with my performance. I showed enough, now I’m ready for a championship fight.

 

 

 

“I want the winner of Danny Garcia vs. Shawn Porter. I’m here to compete with the top-level guys in the sport.”

 

 

 

“I just didn’t have the right distance tonight,” said Barrionuevo, who was making his U.S. debut. “It was hard to catch him and attack. He countered well and attacked the body. I showed my heart but he was the better fighter tonight.”

 

 

 

In the telecast opener, heavyweight slugger Adam Kownacki (18-0, 14 KOs) remained undefeated by scoring a unanimous decision victory over former world champion Charles Martin (25-2-1, 23 KOs) in a sensational action-packed fight. Each of the judges scored the fight 96-94 in favor of the hometown favorite Kownacki, who was fighting in front of a boisterous contingent of Polish fans.

 

 

 

Both fighters were incredibly active, with close to 1400 total punches thrown throughout the 10 rounds. Kownacki and Martin, the former IBF heavyweight champion, each threw over 500 power punches and landed 37 percent of them.

 

 

 

Kownacki, who was fighting at Barclays Center for the seventh time in his pro career, started the fight on the front foot, backing up his opponent and wearing him out on his way to winning the early rounds. Martin began to claw his way back into the fight and caught a second win in the seventh round, landing several powerful left-handed blows to the head of Kownacki.

 

 

 

In a contender for the 2018 Round of the Year, the 10th and final round saw tremendous back-and-forth action with both fighters trading devastating exchanges while doing their best to stay on their feet. The two fighters combined to land 62 punches in the round, 57 of which were power punches.

 

 

 

“I think I proved tonight that I’m a top 10 fighter,” Kownacki told SHOWTIME Sports® reporter Jim Gray. “I think I need one or two more fights before I go for a title fight. I have a great team behind me. Whatever they decide, that’s the route we are going to take.

 

 

 

“I thought I won the decision a little wider than the cards, but Charles came to fight all night. He was in shape and coming forward and I had to dig deep.”

 

 

 

Martin, who was punished by a slow start, was gracious in defeat and gave credit to Kownacki.

 

 

 

“I’m a late starter, but he was the better man tonight,” he said. “Looks are very deceiving, but it’s boxing. I put up a hell of a fight and went the 10 rounds. I just came up short.”

 

 

 

In streaming coverage of live undercard fights on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING COUNTDOWN, Amanda Serrano (35-1-1, 26 KOs) became the first six-division world champion in women’s boxing history, joining Manny Pacquiao and Oscar De La Hoya as the only boxers, male or female, to reach the mark. The Brooklyn native defeated an aggressive and determined Yamila Esther Reynoso (11-5-3, 8 KOs) to earn the vacant WBO Junior Welterweight World Championship via unanimous decision (all three judges scored the fight 99-91).

 

 

 

“This means everything to me,” said Serrano. “I work so hard and I hope this fight shows the fans that girls can fight and we can give it our all just like the men do. We deserve to have this platform and we deserve to be shown.”

 

 

 

Also on the live stream, Brooklyn fan-favorite Chris Colbert (9-0, 3 KOs) cruised to a unanimous decision win over Fatiou Fassinou (28-11-3, 15 KOs) and Mayweather Promotions’ unbeaten prospect Richardson Hitchins (6-0, 3 KOs) dominated Mexico’s Cesar Valenzuela (7-3, 2 KOs) en route to a unanimous decision victory.

Split-T Management signs amateur standout Eric Puente to management deal

NEW YORK (September 7, 2018)–Boxing’s deepest management stable just got richer as Split-T Management  is proud to announce the signing of amateur standout Eric Puente to an exclusive management deal.

 

 

 

Puente, 19 years old of Vista, California by way of Sinaloa, Mexico will campaign in the lightweight division.

 

 

 

Puente started boxing at the age of eight years-old by his father/trainer, Ivan.

 

 

 

He went on to win the 2016 National Youth Open Championship, and was a member of Team USA.  Puente was a favorite to be a member of the 2020 United States Olympic Team.

 

 

 

Puente, who stand 5’8″ likens his style to a cross between Danny Garcia and Yuriorkis Gamboa.

Season II of the interactive and free fight series opens in the Fighting City of Philadelphia on Friday, Sept. 14, with an action-packed King’s Boxing card live from 2300 Arena.

 

 

 

The fan-friendly series that – among other aspects – prides itself on the real-time conversations held between fight commentators and the viewing audience showcased more than 300 fighters during 17 live event broadcasts in its first 12 months. CES “Twin River Twinbill” from Lincoln, R.I. (157,000) and the March 17 Murphy’s “St. Patrick’s Day Clash” (150,001) all logged 150,000 or more views, and collectively the 17-show series has seen a total of more than 30,000 total hours of Facebook video consumed by 1,423,132 users across all devices.

 

  • In addition to the raw viewership numbers, the fully-interactive, fan-friendly productions have seen more than 173,000 collective live post engagements(more than 10,200 per show), including more than 116,000 “likes” or “loves,” almost 30,000 comments and nearly 10,000 shares.

 

  • FIGHTNIGHT LIVE broadcasts are viewed by76 percent men, 24 percent women. The top demographic is comprised ofmales ages 25-34, which encompasses approximately 30.0 percent of the audience, on average.

 

  • The Sept. 9 “Real Deal Promotions: Empire State” set a new bar with 224,658 viewsand the Sept. 15-16 DiBella-CES doubleheader carried the series to three-quarters-of-a-million views in just over four months. The Feb. 10 Hard-Hitting Promotions “Philly Fight Night” show stands out individually with 3,421 live hours of content viewed, while the Sept. 15 DiBella card saw more than 40,000 viewer interactions including almost 39,000 “likes” or “loves” and the March 17 Murphy’s “St. Patrick’s Day Clash” set a new high-water mark for shares with 2,182.

 

  • The FIGHTNIGHT LIVE page on Facebook has more than 79,000 fans and more than 82,000 followers. Philadelphia, PA (September 6, 2018) -Undefeated welterweight Terrel  Williams will take on David Grayton in an intriguing 10-round  bout that will now be part of an already packed fight card on Friday, September 14th at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.

 

 

 

In the previously announced main event, Brandon Robinson will  take on veteran Ernest Amuzu in the eight-round super middleweight bout.

 

 

 

The nine-bout card is promoted by King’s Promotions.
