This week on the FNU Combat Sports Show, Tom, Tony and Rich look back at Bellator 201, a new candidate for “Round de l'Any” in the Zappavigna/Saucedo fight, Golden Boy making moves in boxing and MMA, and the increasing push by streaming services to drain away the PPV dollar from sports fans. We start off discussing concussion symptoms that led to the withdrawal of Max Holloway from the co-main event of UFC 226 aquesta setmana.

 

Of course we also preview a huge weekend for the UFC with The TUF Finale tonight and the long-awaited UFC 226 main event of Stipe Miocic putting his heavyweight belt on the line against Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier.

Rich Bergeron obre el programa d'esports de combat FNU d'aquesta setmana donant la seva visió única del Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Baralles de Johnson amb el llautó de la UFC, és a dir, Dana White. En negar-se a lluitar amb T.J. Dillashaw sense aconseguir certes garanties i condicions, molts fans de les xarxes socials van insistir que DJ estava espantat. Fins i tot Dillashaw va aprofitar l'oportunitat per explotar el moviment del campió de pes mosca com “merda de pollastre.” Dana White fins i tot va amenaçar amb tancar tota la divisió de pes mosca si Johnson es negava a lluitar contra TJ. “Mighty Mouse” no va parpellejar i no va cedir a les demandes de l'organització, i Rich explica en el seu diàleg inicial per què s'ha de respectar a DJ i rebre el benefici del dubte per la seva decisió en lloc de ser criticat i arrossegat pel fang per defensar-se a si mateix..

SANT PETERSBURG; Rússia (Juny 2, 2017) — MMA estrella Alejandro “Tempesta” Shlemenko només cal 25 seconds to avenge a loss to middleweight Brandon “Toro” Halsey A la nit passada M-1 Desafiament 79 headliner at Saint Petersburg, Rússia.
M-1 Desafiament 79 was a part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum’s Cultural Program. Nine different countries were represented in this International event: Rússia, EUA, Regne Unit, Israel, Brasil, Kirguizistan, Alemanya, Corea del Sud, Ucraïna.
Shlemenko (56-7-0, M-1: 6-0-0) came out for the opening bell with force, unloading a series of powerful kicks and punches to the body of an overwhelmed Halsey (9-3-0, M-1: 0-1-0), que va fer el seu debut a l'M-1 Global, and he was unable to make it past the 25-seconds mark of the opening round.
