FLINT, MI. (Novembre 18, 2017) – L'ex campió del món Anthony Dirrell (31-1-1, 24 KOs) had a successful return to the ring in his hometown as he won a technical decision over Denis Douglas (19-6, 12 KOs) in the main event of a special Friday night edition of Premier Boxing Champions DIMARTS TOE-TO-TOE en FS1 i BOXA DE CAMPIONS on FOX Deportes from Dort Federal Credit Union Center in Flint, Michigan.
“I wanted to pressure him and test myself,” dir Dirrell. “He was wearing down and then the head butt came. I told the doctor that my vision was blurry and he decided not to let me continue.”
The fight was stopped in the sixth round after an accidental clash of heads left Dirrell’s left eye badly cut. The ringside physician deemed Dirrell unable to continue and the fight went to the scorecards where Dirrell won a technical decision by scores of 49-46 i 48-47 dues vegades.
Fighting in his hometown for the first time since 2011, Dirrell came out fast and appeared to have Douglin in trouble in round one with a flurry of hooks. Douglin was able to survive the round and had successful moments landing left hooks to Dirrell’s head.
Douglin was aggressive throughout but was unable to stop Dirrell from mounting his own offensive surges. Dirrell scored to the body often and was able to work through any difficult moments.
“I was going for the knockout,” dir Dirrell. “I wanted to get him out of there. I was getting hit and I got frustrated occasionally. I need to stick to the game plan a little better and make sure I’m doing what I want to do in the ring.”
Dirrell and Douglin continued to trade blows until the decisive clash of heads that led to a premature end of the fight and Dirrell taking home the decision victory.
“I’m right there with anyone in this division,” dir Dirrell. “I was getting ready for a title fight and I hurt my back but I’m ready now. I want to face anyone with a belt or whoever will step up to the challenge.”

Clark used his significant reach advantage and pumped his jab early and often, establishing it in the first round and adding different combinations off of it throughout the contest. Dolton attempted to close down the distance but was unable to land anything that deterred Clark.
A clash of heads midway through the fourth round opened up a cut over Clark’s right eye and appeared to temporarily re-energize Dolton, who tried to take advantage of the wound. Clark showed toughness in never letting the cut slow him down as he stuck to the game plan and boxed effectively down the stretch.
Dolton stalked him throughout the final frames and landed occasionally but it was not enough as Clark took home the decision by scores of 78-74, 77-75 i 76-76.

Karl increased his work rate after the first two rounds, consistently using the jab and throwing right hands mixed in with body shots. Martin stayed in the pocket throughout but was too easy to hit as Karl got the better of much of the action in the middle of the ring.
In the final round, Karl seemed to have more left in the tank as he buzzed Martin with a right hand that slowed his opponent and helped him on his way to a unanimous decision by scores of 78-74 dues vegades i 77-75.

The 27-year-old Williams earned his first world title shot last year after defeating Marcello Matano to become the top contender before eventually falling short against unbeaten Jermall Charlo. “Campament era genial. I started in Cincinnati and finished in D.C. amb Barry Hunter, Patrice Harris and of course Mike Stafford. During my time in D.C., I sparred with Lamont Peterson, who turned southpaw for me.
“I have a great deal of respect for Shafikov. Tough guy, experienced but he had his chance and it’s my time now. This is my toughest fight on paper but I feel good. It’s my time to earn my respect.
“It’s a huge honor and blessing to headline on ESPN on 4th of July weekend. I want to put on a good show,
“Its extra special to honor on this weekend, being that I was a marine and to headline and I want to put on a patriotic and great performance.

The 30-year-old Herring represented the United States at the 2012 Olympic games after winning the U.S. Títol nacional amateur mateix any. Fighting out of Cincinnati but originally from Coram, Nova York, Herring picked up four victories in 2015 including a dominant triumph over Yakubu Amidu in October. A former member of the U.S. Marine Corps, Herring started 2016 with a dominant victory over Luis Eduardo Flores in February.

Las Vegas (Desembre 18) – La “força” estava amb l'estrella cubana i recentment coronada campiona del món de pes lleuger Rances Barthelemy (24-0, 13 KOs) ja que va guanyar una decisió unànime de 12 rondes sobre el zurdo rus Denis Shafikov (36-2-1, 19 KOs) en el cap de cartell de la final Lliga de Campions de Boxa (PBC) per Spike carta de lluita de 2015. La retransmissió de quatre baralles, que va comptar amb el suport de baralles no televisades amb algunes de les promocions de Mayweather’ estrelles en ascens, va tenir lloc al Pearl at Palms Casino Resort de Las Vegas.
Sortint d'una gira mundial de luxe, Floyd Mayweather va tornar als Estats Units i es va asseure al costat del ring com a promotor de les baralles d'aquesta nit. El recentment retirat campió del món de cinc divisions, que també va saber avui que va ser seleccionat com aSports Illustrated Boxejador de l'Any, va ser animat i compromès a través de la campana final de la vetllada.
L'esdeveniment principal, que va començar com una batalla de peu a peu, va acabar a favor de Barthelemy mentre va escombrar el darrer quart del combat. Shafikov va controlar l'inici de la lluita, quedar-se a la butxaca i llançar cops de puny més potents que Barthelemy, ja que el cubà va tenir dificultats per adaptar-se a la força més curta., encara més fort, estil de Shafikov.
El punt d'inflexió de la baralla es va produir quan un tall provocat per un cop de puny de Barthelemy es va obrir per sobre de l'ull dret de Shafikov a la vuitena ronda.. La sang va començar a empitjorar amb furia i l'àrbitre Vic Drakulich va trucar al metge del ring per inspeccionar el tall.. Quan es va reprendre la lluita, Barthelemy va atacar l'ull del rus i mai va deixar de banda durant la resta de la lluita. Va aprofitar el tall i el va combinar amb la seva alçada i avantatge d'abast que va portar a una recepta per a l'èxit, ja que ara és campió del món de dues divisions.. Els jutges van veure el combat 119-109 i 116-112 dues vegades.
“Hi va haver moments en què vaig quedar atrapat en el meu estil de lluita. Em va costar un minut adaptar-me a l'estil de Shafikov i intercanviar cops de puny amb ell,” Said Bartolomé. “Estic molt content amb el nombre de cops que vaig poder baixar.
“Em va impressionar molt l'estil guerrer de Shafiov. Mai es va rendir fins i tot després de fer-se mal amb cops de puny que estaven afectant la seva lluita. Això em va agafar molt per sorpresa i també que va poder durar tota la lluita. El fet que continués realment diu alguna cosa sobre ell com a lluitador.”
“No estic segur si vaig guanyar la lluita,” Said Shafikov. “Estic molt decebut i vull una represa.”
L'esdeveniment co-principal va veure un final estrany del que havia de ser un combat d'eliminació de pes creuer. Southpaw de DetroitIsiah Thomas (15-0, 6 KOs) estava guanyant la lluita als tres jutges’ targetes de puntuació fins a la tercera ronda quan el power-puncher rus Murat “Planxa” Gassiev (22-0, 16 KOs) va llançar accidentalment cops tardans a Thomas’ cap després de la campana. Els cops de puny van forçar l'àrbitre Jay Nady per fer la dura trucada que els cops de puny “disminuït el valor” de Tomàs’ capacitat de continuar. “Havia vist les seves baralles anteriors i sabia que la meva mà dreta seria massa per a ell i que podria aterrar-la en qualsevol moment.,” va continuar Walker. “El meu condicionament va ser realment la diferència aquesta nit. Estava en gran forma i vaig poder confiar en això quan les coses es van posar difícils.”

Pearson va quedar decebut amb la decisió i es va quedar amb ganes d'una represa.

“Li trec el barret,” va dir Pearson. “Els seus cops de puny eren nítids i durs. Simplement no vaig poder fer res de manera constant. Vaig pensar que estava més a prop que els jutges’ targetes de puntuació i definitivament vull una represa el més aviat possible.”

A la primera baralla de la nit, una de les estrelles en ascens ràpid de la boxa, Gervonta “L'únic” Davis (14-0, 13 KOs) de Baltimore va posar en joc el seu rècord invicte contra el de Mèxic Luis Sánchez (17-5-1, 5 KOs) en un enfrontament lleuger.

Davis, un protegit de Mayweather de 21 anys, va estar a l'altura de la seva reputació com a superestrella en evolució que va aconseguir una victòria per nocaut a la novena ronda molt lluitada. Sánchez va mostrar la seva duresa i capacitat de resistència mentre va obligar a Davis a lluitar tres rondes més que qualsevol lluita de la seva carrera.. A la novena ronda, va llançar una mà esquerra massiva per acabar amb Sánchez, enviant a Mayweather dempeus per celebrar-ho.

“Va ser fantàstic lluitar contra totes aquestes rondes i posar-hi feina,” va dir Davis. “És un lluitador dur i aquesta nit he après molt. Va ser una molt bona experiència per a mi.

Mayweather, que estava molt satisfet amb Davis’ rendiment, veu brillant el futur del jove lluitador invicte.
“Sempre és bo sortir allà i aconseguir la W,” dir Mayweather. “És jove. Encara està aprenent. Esperem que algun dia sigui campió del món.”
Mayweather va gaudir de l'oportunitat de promocionar una de les baralles finals de l'any a la seva ciutat natal de Las Vegas dient, “Estic molt content d'haver pogut mostrar a la televisió nacional alguns dels lluitadors talentosos que tenim a Mayweather Promotions.
