Robbery at the Cannery! Scoring Woes Continue in Las Vegas as Eduardo Ramirez Cheated by Bad Judging

Barthelemy-Ramirez Ends in Dubious Draw
A loud chorus of boos rang out as another controversial Las Vegas decision was rendered in heute Abend Leduan Barthelemy vs. Eduardo Ramirez featherweight battle at the Cannery Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
Ramirez, von Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexiko, seemed to have done more than enough to deserve the nod over a listless Barthelemy in the 10-round featherweight main event of a Premier Boxing Champions “Kuba vs. Mexiko” TOE-TO-TOE DIENSTAG Ereignis, televised nationally on FS1 & BOXEO DE CAMPEONES on FOX Deportes.
Nach 10 rounds of pounding and chasing the exhausted Cuban around the ring, often landing multi-punch combinations to the head and body, Ramirez and corner rightfully celebrated their well-deserved upset victoryBut in Las Vegas boxing, nothing is certain, especially scoring.
While Judge Glen Trowbridge was able to pick the right winner at least (but by too tight a margin) bei 96-94, the other two inexplicably scored the lopsided beating (Tim Cheatham) 95-95 and an unbelievable 97-93 Barthelemy from Patricia Morse Jarman.
This controversial scoring is the second time Las Vegas judges have made major blunders on national television in a short time, as it comes less than two weeks after the Canelo vs. GGG scoring debacle.
It is also not the first time Morse Jarman has been involved in controversial and highly questionable scoring.
Her decades of head-scratching scores include having Fernando Vargas ahead of Oscar De La Hoya at the time of De La Hoya’s 11th round stoppage victory, as well as having Beibut Shumenov winning 117-111 in a fight against Gabriel Campillo that Campillo clearly dominated and was robbed. Also among her long list of missteps, Morse Jarman had Marco Antonio Barrera beating Nasim Hamed by a mere three points in a fight regarded by all (except Morse Jarman) as a one-sided beating.
With the “zeichnen” Barthelemy escapes to 13-0-1, 7 KOs. Ramirez undeservedly sinks to 20-0-3, 7 KOs.

LAS VEGAS (September 26, 2017) – Ungeschlagen Leichtgewichte Leduan Barthelemy (13-0-1, 7 KOs) und Eduardo Ramirez (20-0-3, 7 KOs) fought to an exciting split draw in their 10-round brawl that headlined Premier Boxing Champions TOE-bis-Fuß DIENSTAGS auf FS1 und Boxing Championsauf FOX Deportes Dienstag night from the Cannery Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
The back-and-forth battle saw Barthelemy attempt to take advantage of his length early while Ramirez fought hard to do damage on the inside. By round four, Ramirez had begun to break through Barthelemy’s defense and by the sixth round he connected with Barthelemy repeatedly with no response to score a huge round in his favor.
I wanted to pressure him all the way through and take away his reach advantage,” said Ramirez. “I felt good the whole fight and he never hurt me at any point. I believed in my skills and I performed well.
It was a very tough, physical fight for both of us,” Said Barthelemy. “I didn’t feel 100 percent but I was able to work through it and I never felt hurt during the fight. He landed on me but I was able to keep my composure.
Barthelemy was able to recover and began to stifle Ramirez’s aggressiveness by pivoting effectively and landing punches from different angles. By the final round, the two fighters resorted to brawling on the inside, with both men landing big punches all the way to the final bell.
In the end the judgesscores reflected the close nature of the bout as one judge scored the fight 97-93 for Barthelemy while another judge scored the bout 96-94 for Ramirez. The fight was declared a split draw after the final score was announced as 95-95.
“Ich würde ihn auf jeden Fall wieder kämpfen,” Said Barthelemy. “I’ll be ready for another great battle and I’ll get the clear victory this time.
I thought that I won the fight, it was a close fight but I believe that I did what I had to do to win,” said Ramirez. “I would fight him again and beat him even worse.
Additional action saw once-beaten Alejandro Salinas (9-1, 8 KOs) was able to earn a unanimous decision over rugged brawler Duarn anzeigen (12-1, 4 KOs) in their eight-round super featherweight contest.
The fight was defined by close quarters exchanges that began right after the opening bell as Vue charged Salinas and tried to navigate the distance and brawl with Salinas. The tide quickly turned for Salinas who established his right hand and connected several times cleanly with Vue’s head.
Vue did not stop attacking and forced Salinas to vary his attack and add in uppercuts and left hooks with his effective right hand. While Vue was able to tag Salinas as he tired into the later rounds, it was not enough to come back in the minds of the judges as all three scored the bout for Salinas by scores of 80-72, 79-73 und 77-75.
The opening bout saw Bryan Figueroa (13-0, 5 KOs) remain unbeaten and win a close decision over Ivan Jimenez (7-1-1, 4 KOs) in their six round lightweight fight.
Figueroa took his time early trying to utilize his height advantage to strike Jimenez from a distance and in round three he connected on a hard left hand that backed up and staggered his opponent. Jimenez was able to stay on his feet, and had success at times getting on the inside and hitting Figueroa with hooks, but was not able to land consistently enough.
The fiery exchanges continued through the sixth and final round with Figueroa eventually earning the decision on all three judgesscorecards by the score of 58-56.

BETHLEHEM, PA. (Februar 10, 2016) – Unbesiegt 2012 U.S.. Olympier Jamel Herring (15-0, 8 KOs) erzielte eine einstimmige Entscheidung (100-88, 100-88, 99-89) over Colombia’s Luis Eduardo Flores (21-3, 17 KOs) in a 10-round lightweight bout in the main event of Tuesday’s Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) TOE-bis-Fuß DIENSTAGS auf FS1 und Boxing Champions auf FOX Sports fight card at Sands Event Center in Bethlehem, PA.
Hering, who represented the United States at the 2012 Olympic games after winning the U.S. National Amateur-Titel im selben Jahr, commanded the action throughout.
I knew if I boxed smart it would show, but I didn’t think it would be that wide a margin,” Said Herring. “He’s a very experienced fighter.
Hering fügte hinzu, “I was trying to get rid of him early because he’s a dangerous guy. If you let a guy like that sit around too long there’s always the risk that you might get clipped with something and regret it.
Hering, ein US-amerikanischer. Marine Corps veteran, hopes the win Dienstag night will launch him into world title contention in 2016.
Macht seine US-. Debüt, the Magangue, Colombia native Flores put on a valiant effort, recovering from a flurry in the second round that would have sent most fighters packing.
In der fünften Runde, the 28-year-old Flores was ruled to have been knocked down twice, but disputes those calls by the ref. “Both times that the officials called it a knockdown and started counting were just slips. I didn’t actually get knocked down either time,” Said Flores.
Flores hinzugefügt, “Ich weiß, dass (Hering) had the advantage heute Abend, and he outperformed me. But I’ll keep trying wherever my next opportunity comes.
I think getting a win like this over a fighter with Floresexperience will help me gain a lot more respect. People seeing me win on my first PBC card on national TV on FS1 and FOX Deportes just helps raise my profile and I look forward to being back,” Said Herring.
The opening televised bout featured unbeaten prospect Alex Martin (12-0, 5 KOs) Besiegen Rossemberth Gomez (17-5-1, 13 KOs) durch einstimmigen Beschluss (80-72, 79-73, 79-73) in einem Acht-Runden Weltergewicht Contest.
Martin, ein 2012 Nationaler Champion der Goldenen Handschuhe, controlled much of the fight from the outside using his superior footwork to evade Gomez.
The Harvey, IL native Martin said, “I could see his punches coming from a mile away, but I should have followed up a little more than I did heute Abend and let my hands go a bit more too.
An owner of 340 Amateur gewinnt, Martin turned pro in 2013 and is yet to lose. That experience helped Martin keep his composure when Gomez taunted him repeatedly in the second round.
We wanted to make Martin mad and get him to punch himself out if we could,” said the 29-year-old Gomez.
Martin responded to the talk of baiting saying, “I just stuck to my fundamentals, kept pumping my jab and setting him up for the next shot.
I knew I hurt him with the uppercut. He walked right into it. And then when I threw the hook he couldn’t do anything,” sagte Martin.
Following the bout Gomez said, “I plan to retire after heute Abend. I care too much and fight too hard to be just another opponent.
The second televised fight saw Raynell Williams (11-0, 5 KOs) win a unanimous decision (79-73, 79-73, 78-74) über Gabriel Tolmajyan (14-3-2, 3 KOs) in eight rounds of lightweight action.
Ein Mitglied der 2008 U.S.. Olympiamannschaft, Cleveland’s Williams was able to establish himself early and get in a rhythm.
The only time he was able to catch me with anything was when I got a little lazy,” sagte Williams.
Williams caught Tolmajyan with a big right hand in the fourth round, seemingly stunning Tolmajyan momentarily, but he kept his composure and didn’t allow himself to become overzealous.
I was focused on boxing him and not so much worried about the knockout,” added Williams. “I knew I was winning the rounds.
In the final frame, Tolmajyan, fighting out of Glendale, SOWIE, caught Williams with a shot that nearly ended things.
Williams recalled, “It was an overhand left that he hit me with. And then he came after me again, but the ref and I made contact, so then the ref pushed me away because he didn’t want me to try holding on to him. But once I got my feet under me I was fine.
Jedoch, Tolmajyan wasn’t impressed with Williams saying, “He wasn’t as good as we were expecting and I had him hurt with my left.
I thought that I was winning the fight to be honest. I didn’t think I was going to lose the decision,” added Tolmajyan.
Williams concluded, “I hope to learn from my mistakes heute Abend. I got caught with a good punch in the last few seconds heute Abend, so I just need to work on consistency and fighting until the final bell.
