“I am extremely focused. There is a lot at stake ce samedi. I am finally in the position I wanted to be in since turning pro.
“I have come to a conclusion that if people don’t have to fight Julian Williams then they won’t. It hasn’t been that frustrating though because I always have a fight on the books. I can’t worry about the people who won’t fight me. I just have to stay ready and put myself in the mandatory spot. That’s what I am going to do Samedi nuit.
“It’s never any challenge fighting at home. I know exactly what I have to do. I don’t cut any corners in camp. The biggest challenge is the waiting because I am so anxious to get in there and get a win, especially in front of my home crowd.
“I always knew I wanted to pursue a boxing career, so I treat it like I want it. I’ve been dreaming about this for a long time and my opportunity is finally here.
“I’ve been a student of the game since I started watching boxing. I want to learn and I want to know everything about boxing.
“It means everything to have my biggest fight to date in my backyard. I know my fans cheer loud and it feels great to have their support in my corner.
“I know everything about my opponent. I probably know what kind of toothpaste he used this morning. I searched high and low for videos of Matano. I am ready because I know he is ready.
“He is a little bit awkward. He seems to have a really good gas tank. He said he wants to take me the distance, donc nous verrons.

“We are ready. It’s been a long four-month camp. We thought were going to fight in January, so we’ve been grinding through this rough weather early in the morning. Julian is chomping at the bit and ready to rock ‘n roll.
“We thought we were going to fight Austin Trout in December, and he saw that Julian gave his opponent a concussion and said I don’t want to fight him. It’s just that simple. We have to get past Matano and then we can talk about (super welterweight champion Jermall) Charlo.
“Anybody with two hands and a heartbeat can fight. Matano is ranked and just because he isn’t well known, it doesn’t mean he can’t fight. Khurtsidze (30-2-2, 20 KOs) steps in to face GH3 Promotions’ Douglas (19-0-1, 13 KOs) in a 10-round middleweight bout for the WBO International title after Sam Soliman pulled out of the fight last week with a knee injury.

 

Khurtsidze, de Brooklyn, N. Y.. by way of Kutaisi, Géorgie, has won eight straight – including six by knockout – since dropping a controversial decision to then-unbeaten Hassan N'Dam in a bout for the vacant interim WBA World Middleweight Title in Paris in 2010.

 

Khurtsidze was scheduled to face N’Dam in a rematch last Novembre 21 à Paris, but the event was cancelled following the tragic Novembre 13 terror attacks in France. The rematch with the former world champion was to be contested for the IBF No. 2 spot at 160 livres.

 

A pressure fighter, Khurtsidze was also slated to fight last week on a DiBella Entertainment Broadway Boxing event and has been training since the fight with N’Dam was called off. Le 36-year-old, who has also campaigned at super middleweight, is coming off a knockout victory over Melvin Betancourt last August.

One of the most promising and highly regarded young stars in boxing, Williams (21-0-1, 1 Dakota du Nord, 13 KOs) will headline for the first time on SHOWTIME. He’s stepping up after honing his skills and steadily ascending the ranks after five fights on SHO EXTREME. The 25-year-old shut out longtime contender Joey Hernandez last April, followed that with a sixth-round stoppage of Arman Ovsepyan in June and closed the year by stopping Orlando Lora in the first round in September. The Philadelphian has also picked up victories over Joachim Alcine, Eliezer Gonzalez and Freddy Hernandez in his young career and looks to earn his first title shot with a win on Mars 5.
Matano (16-1, 5 KOs) is a former Italian super welterweight titlist. He’s registered four consecutive wins since the only loss of his career, including victories in three scheduled 12-round fights. The 29-year-old is coming off a 12-round unanimous decision over fellow-Italian Nick Klappert in October 2015. Like Williams, he fought three bouts in 2015, although he logged 31 total rounds compared to just 17 for Williams.
Douglas (19-0-1, 13 KOs) has been impressive in five consecutive victories since he boxed to a draw when he was just 21 years old with former world title challenger Michel Soro in July 2014. The former top amateur has won his last three fights by knockout, including a sixth-round KO of previously undefeated Thomas LaManna and a fourth-round TKO of veteran Les Sherrington last November in his fifth appearance on ShoBox: La Nouvelle Génération. On the prospect developmental series, the 23-year-old Douglas has graduated from unproven prospect to undefeated contender and is now ranked No. 4 dans la WBO et non. 6 dans la WBA. Douglas is promoted by GH3 promotions.
Soliman (44-13, 1 Caroline du Nord, 18 KOs), de Melbourne, Australie, is vastly more experienced than Douglas, having competed in four world championship fights. “Je devais effectivement une blessure mon dernier combat que je ne parle pas. Je ne suis jamais sorti d'un combat en raison d'une blessure et je ne voulais pas faire sauter ma chance à titre PBC près de ma ville natale. Donc, je me suis décidé que je voulais sauter à travers mon adversaire. Les gens ne se rendent pas compte que je devais 4 de premier tour KO pour démarrer ma carrière, si je peux me battre comme ça si je choisis. Mon entraîneur m'a dit que les autres combats sont allés la distance si mon combat ne peut pas être représenté dans son intégralité. Je lui répétais que je voulais obtenir un 1er arrêt de ronde. Donc, cela m'a donné incitation supplémentaire à venir grâce à l'embrayage. Cuello était un combattant solide, mais je savais qu'il était en difficulté depuis les 1ères secondes. Il n'a pas eu les réflexes ou la force pour faire face à moi.”

“Je pensais que je me battrais 4 fois en 2015 mais honnêtement, il ne semble pas de cette façon. Je voulais absolument obtenir 4 en, car il vous permet de rester forte. Chaque combat que je devais cette année, je était plus nette et plus nette. De plus la lutte contre le garde souvent vous fermez le poids qui est important. Je suis juste dit que je voudrais aller en Janvier. So I just finished a two week mini camp just to work on strength. I’m in the heat of camp now with a return date of 16 janvier ou 23 janvier. Bethlehem, Pennsylvanie (Septembre 22, 2015) – L'événement principal de Premier Champions de boxe sur FS1 et FOX Sports Présentée Julian Williams (21-0-1, 13 KOs) comme il a assommé Luciano Cuello (35-4, 17 KOs) dans le premier tour de leur concours. A la minute 33 seconde marque de la première ronde Williams était trop pour Cuello.
Le combat télévisé ouverture sélectionnée Moises Flores du Mexique (24-0, 17 KOs) dans une bagarre bourré d'action contre Luis Cusolito de l'Argentine (21-2, 19 KOs). Au cours d'une bataille qui a permis aux deux combattants apparaissent dans le contrôle à des moments, Flores a réussi à résister 11 tours de dommages et scellé le deal avec un 12e huitièmes de finale sur Cusolito.
Caleb usine (10-0, 8 KOs) est allé la distance dans le deuxième combat télévisé et obtenu une décision unanime (80-71, 79-72, 80-71) victoire sur Jamar Freeman (13-5-2, 7 KOs).

“Je me suis battu perspectives invaincues et anciens champions. Je vais me battre n'importe qui. Je ne déteste pas (Austin) Truite du tout. Il vient de rang supérieur que moi et l'un des gars de mon chemin.”

“Il était un droit à la tête qui a fini choses. Je sentais mon œil la fermeture jusqu'à. Je sentais que je pourrais avoir pu continuer, mais mon solde a été un peu jeté hors après avoir débarqué le droit de mon œil gauche.
“Je suis en désaccord avec l'arrêt quand je suis dans le moment, mais je vais revenir en arrière et regarder le combat pour prendre un autre coup d'oeil.
“Je me suis battu quelques grands combattants dans ma carrière, et Williams est aussi forte que l'un d'eux.
MOISES FLORES
“Je gagné ce combat parce que de la façon dont je me préparais. Ce fut tout sur ma préparation et le dévouement dans le gymnase. Je quitté ma maison au Mexique et je suis allé à Miami pour 10 semaines à former pour ce combat. Nous ne faisons pas ce que nous avions prévu exactement, mais mon conditionnement m'a aidé à passer cette bataille ce soir.
“Je suis très heureux d'obtenir ce titre intérimaire, mais je veux un coup à Leo Santa Cruz prochaine. Je vais aller jusqu'à 126 livres pour que cela se produise si il veut.
“Ce fut un énorme saut pour moi d'être sur une carte PBC et la lutte contre le FS1 et Fox Deportes. Grands combattants reçoivent cet honneur et il se sent merveilleux de faire partie d'une carte de ce genre.”
EMANUEL CUSOLITO
“Je me suis blessé la main au second tour.
“He is a very strong champion. I was fighting hard but the ref thought I had taken too many punches. I could have continued. He is a great champion though. I want to come back and show my skills and heart to my fans from Argentina.
“Je pensais que dans plusieurs tours, Je vais l'assommer, mais peut-être étais-je trop confiant. Il a un grand menton.”
CALEB PLANT
“Je suis détendu et composée en y ce soir. Je lui avais fait tant de mal, je le pressai plus, mais il est un combattant dur.
“Je l'ai laissé dans le troisième avec un crochet gauche, et donc je utilisé que comme une occasion de le poursuivre plus, mais il a accroché difficile.
“Ceci est une bénédiction d'être une partie de ce que Al (HAYMON) est fait pour la boxe. Saumurage revenir à la télévision gratuite est énorme. Pour être impliqué dans quelque chose comme ça si tôt dans ma carrière me aide à une grande exposition.”

L'une des jeunes stars les plus réputés de la boxe, Williams a passé 2015 jalonnement sa demande comme un prétendant légitime à la division des 154 livres. Il a blanchi concurrent de longue date Joey Hernandez en Avril et a suivi avec un arrêt de sixième ronde de Arman Ovsepyan en Juin. Deux combattants madrilènes ont voyagé dans un nouvellement créé 340 Boxe / Sampson Boxing camp d'entraînement à l'île paradisiaque de St. Thomas, U.S.. Les iles vierges, pour se préparer à leurs combats à venir.
Propre ex-lourds légers champion du monde de boxe IBF et Sampson # 13-évalué Gabriel “Handsome Boy” Campillo (25-7-1, 12 KOs) et WBC # 11-classé Luciano Leonel “Le Petit Prince” Cou (35-3, 17 KOs) travaillent dur à la 340 Boxing Gym à St. Thomas, Îles Vierges américaines avec l'entraîneur Matias Antonio Gonzalez et deux habitants dans le monde nominale, Jean “Dah Rocher” et Julius “Le chef” Jackson.
