NOVICE CLASS FINALS RESULTS FROM LOWELL
الویل, ماس. (فروری 19, 2016) – Fourteen 2016 New England Tournament of Champions winners were crowned last night in the novice class of 70ویں annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Team Central produced the most individual winners with seven, followed by Team Western with five, and Team Central had two.
The unofficial fight of the night was between Salem, MA welterweight Kenny Larson (Team Central) and his Dorchester, MA opponent Jarrod LoMax (Team Southern), in which Larson won a three-round decision, 3-2.
Portland, ME bantamweight Christian Morales (Team Northern) continued his performance run in the tournament, winning a three-round decision, 5-0, over hometown Lowell favorite Marquis Fowler (Team Central) مورالس’ impressive showings in the tournament will lead him into an open division spot in next week’s New Englands.
In a Central N.E. (Greater Lowell) heavyweight final rematch, due to a round-time issue, Methuen’s Jesus Flores (Canal Street Boxing) defeated Haverhill’s John Roche (Haverhill Downtown Boxing) by the same score as their original match in another thrilling, back-and-forth bout ending a in three-round decision (5-0). The crosstown rivalry between the two gyms and boxers led up to another compelling match with Flores qualifying for بدھ night’s open class semifinals of the New England Tournament of Champions.

Jeter Promotions signs undefeated Welterweight Steve Weimer

York, PA (فروری 17, 2016) – Jeter Promotions is pleased to announce the signing of undefeated Welterweight prospect Steve Weimer to an exclusive promotional contract.

الویل, ماس. (فروری 11, 2016) – Team Central had the edge in last night’s novice class semifinals of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, at Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Team Central had five individual winners, followed by Team South and Team West with three victories and Team North had two. The novice class finals of the N.E. Tournament of Champions will be held جمعرات, فروری. 18 at Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
The Fight of the Night was the light heavyweight match of the novice class as Team South’s Henry Ventura (N. Dartmouth, MA) overcame two knockdowns to defeat Team North’s Tyler Jacques (سینٹ. Albans, VT) who was dropped once and also had a standing eight count, by way of a unanimous decision (5-0).

Peter Welch’s Gym had seven winners last night: open – Hyde Park welterweight Jennifer Perella and Brookline light welterweight Abraham Nova; novice – Dorchester lightweightJonathen DePina اور مڈل برائن لارنس, East Boston lightweight Claire Duffy لائٹ ویلٹر ویٹ, Boston light welterweight Katie Gregory and Franklin heavyweight Jared Gately.
Lowell West End Gym and Grealish Boston had the second-most winners last evening with two apiece.
Last night, 15 matches went the distance, including several upsets, along with one technical knockout and a two walkovers.

(فروری 2, 2016) – Thirty-eight surviving amateur boxers will compete in 19 scheduled matches this Thursday night (فروری. 4) the Central New England (Greater Lowell) final round, open and novice divisions, of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
All CNE finals winners will advance to the New England Tournament of Champions, also held at Lowell Memorial Auditorium, later this month.

(جنوری 29, 2016) – For the second week in a row all 13 matches went the three-round distance in last night’s Central New England (Greater Lowell) semifinals round of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, featuring open and novice class action, at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Returning New England welterweight champion جیویر ویگا, representing Canal Street Boxing in Lawrence (MA), تھا 4-1 winner against Michael Fontenez, of Nashua, NH.
Peter Welch’s Gym in South Boston led the hit parade with three winners, all in the novice class: ہلکا پھلکا Jonathan Depina, ویلٹر ویٹ Lipi Fernandes اور مڈل برائن لارنس. Returning New England Golden Gloves Champion Xavier Vega in action this Thursday night at Central N.E. semifinals in Lowell

The 21-year-old Vega, representing Canal Street Boxing, faces Nashua (NH) چیلنجر Michael Fontanez in one of eight open class matches. There are also eight novice class matches scheduled.
Vega, who has a 33-3 شوکیا ریکارڈ, didn’t start boxing until he was 17 because he has only one kidney. A construction worker by day, Vega hopes to become a professional boxer and, اگر نہیں, a Lawrence police officer in order to give back to his community.

الویل, ماس. (جنوری 23, 2016) – The Central New England (Greater Lowell) quarterfinals round of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship was held last night at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium with 13 highly competitive matches in the novice class.
تمام 13 matches went the three-round distance for 39 rounds of action that the large crowed enjoyed from start to finish. The super heavyweight match between Dorchester’s 381-pound Ivens Derival and Haverhill’s 266-pound Kyle Davis was of special especially because of their respective sizes. Davis won by way of a three-round decision, 4-1, in a back-and-forth match that had fans standing throughout.

Proceeds from the Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship go towards sending the New England Golden Gloves champions to the National Golden Gloves Championship (2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah), in addition to supporting local athletes and area gyms, the Boys & Girls Club, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, cancer funds, scholarships and many other great charitable causes.
