NOVICE CLASS FINALS RESULTS FROM LOWELL

LOWELL, Маса. (Февруари 19, 2016) – Fourteen 2016 New England Tournament of Champions winners were crowned last night in the novice class of 70^та annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.

Team Central produced the most individual winners with seven, followed by Team Western with five, and Team Central had two.

The unofficial fight of the night was between Salem, MA welterweight Kenny Larson (Team Central) and his Dorchester, MA opponent Jarrod LoMax (Team Southern), in which Larson won a three-round decision, 3-2.

Portland, ME bantamweight Christian Morales (Team Northern) continued his performance run in the tournament, winning a three-round decision, 5-0, over hometown Lowell favorite Marquis Fowler (Team Central) Моралес’ impressive showings in the tournament will lead him into an open division spot in next week’s New Englands.

In a Central N.E. (Голема Ловел) heavyweight final rematch, due to a round-time issue, Methuen’s Jesus Flores (Canal Street Бокс) defeated Haverhill’s John Roche (Haverhill центарот Бокс) by the same score as their original match in another thrilling, back-and-forth bout ending a in three-round decision (5-0). The crosstown rivalry between the two gyms and boxers led up to another compelling match with Flores qualifying for Среда night’s open class semifinals of the New England Tournament of Champions.

Jeter Promotions signs undefeated Welterweight Steve Weimer

York, Па (Февруари 17, 2016) – Jeter Promotions is pleased to announce the signing of undefeated Welterweight prospect Steve Weimer to an exclusive promotional contract.

Weimer of York, Па. има рекорд на 9-0 with two knockouts and is looking to get back in the ring following a four-year hiatus.

Weimer did not leave the ring because of the usual boxing stereotypes, but he took some time off to get his college degree. Weimer graduated from York College with a degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology.

Tony Jeter is a Middleweight contender who twice cracked the world rankings and fought Chris Eubank Jr. for the WBA Interim Middleweight title. Jeter formed his promotional company and promoted 20 настани. Jeter is a licensed promoter in Maryland, Вашингтон D.C., Virginia and is waiting to receive a promoters license in Pennsylvania.

LOWELL, Маса. (Февруари 11, 2016) – Team Central had the edge in last night’s novice class semifinals of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, at Lowell Memorial Auditorium.

Team Central had five individual winners, followed by Team South and Team West with three victories and Team North had two. The novice class finals of the N.E. Tournament of Champions will be held Четврток, Февруари. 18 во Lowell Спомен Аудиториум.

The Fight of the Night was the light heavyweight match of the novice class as Team South’s Henry Ventura (N. Dartmouth, М-р) overcame two knockdowns to defeat Team North’s Tyler Jacques (Свети. LOWELL, Маса. (Февруари 5, 2016) – Peter Welch’s Gym in South Boston dominated last night’s Central New England (Голема Ловел) championship final round of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, open and novice classes, at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.

LOWELL, Маса. (Февруари 2, 2016) – Thirty-eight surviving amateur boxers will compete in 19 scheduled matches this Thursday night (Февруари. 4) the Central New England (Голема Ловел) final round, open and novice divisions, of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.

All CNE finals winners will advance to the New England Tournament of Champions, also held at Lowell Memorial Auditorium, later this month.

LOWELL, Маса. (Јануари 29, 2016) – For the second week in a row all 13 matches went the three-round distance in last night’s Central New England (Голема Ловел) semifinals round of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, featuring open and novice class action, at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.

Returning New England welterweight champion Хавиер Вега, representing Canal Street Boxing in Lawrence (М-р), беше 4-1 winner against Michael Fontenez, на Nashua, NH.

(Јануари 25, 2016) – Returning New England Golden Gloves welterweight champion Хавиер Вега, на Лоренс (М-р), leads a host of talented open and novice class amateur boxers into this Thursday night’s (Јан. 8) in the Central New England (Голема Ловел) semifinals of the 70^та annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.

The 21-year-old Vega, representing Canal Street Boxing, faces Nashua (NH) противкандидат Мајкл Fontanez in one of eight open class matches. There are also eight novice class matches scheduled.

Vega, who has a 33-3 аматерски рекорд, didn’t start boxing until he was 17 because he has only one kidney. A construction worker by day, Vega hopes to become a professional boxer and, Ако не е, a Lawrence police officer in order to give back to his community.

LOWELL, Маса. (Јануари 23, 2016) – The Central New England (Голема Ловел) quarterfinals round of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship was held last night at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium with 13 highly competitive matches in the novice class.

Сите 13 matches went the three-round distance for 39 rounds of action that the large crowed enjoyed from start to finish. The super heavyweight match between Dorchester’s 381-pound Ivens Derival and Haverhill’s 266-pound Kyle Davis was of special especially because of their respective sizes. Davis won by way of a three-round decision, 4-1, in a back-and-forth match that had fans standing throughout.
