NOVICE CLASS FINALS RESULTS FROM LOWELL
LOWELL, Masa. (Febrero 19, 2016) – Fourteen 2016 New England Tournament of Champions winners were crowned last night in the novice class of 70º annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Team Central produced the most individual winners with seven, followed by Team Western with five, and Team Central had two.
The unofficial fight of the night was between Salem, MA welter Kenny Larson (Team Central) and his Dorchester, MA opponent Jarrod LoMax (Team Southern), in which Larson won a three-round decision, 3-2.
Portland, ME bantamweight Christian Morales (Team Northern) continued his performance run in the tournament, winning a three-round decision, 5-0, over hometown Lowell favorite Marquis Fowler (Team Central) Morales’ impressive showings in the tournament will lead him into an open division spot in next week’s New Englands.
In a Central N.E. (mayor Lowell) heavyweight final rematch, due to a round-time issue, Methuen’s Jesús Flores (Canal Street Boxing) defeated Haverhill’s John Roche (Haverhill Downtown Boxing) by the same score as their original match in another thrilling, back-and-forth bout ending a in three-round decision (5-0). The crosstown rivalry between the two gyms and boxers led up to another compelling match with Flores qualifying for Miércoles night’s open class semifinals of the New England Tournament of Champions.

Jeter Promotions signs undefeated Welterweight Steve Weimer

York, Pensilvania (Febrero 17, 2016) – Jeter Promotions is pleased to announce the signing of undefeated Welterweight prospect Steve Weimer to an exclusive promotional contract.
Weimer of York, Pensilvania. tiene un registro de 9-0 with two knockouts and is looking to get back in the ring following a four-year hiatus.
Weimer did not leave the ring because of the usual boxing stereotypes, but he took some time off to get his college degree. Weimer graduated from York College with a degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology.
Weimer, ahora 26 years-old had an amateur record of 105-31 was a three-time Pennsylvania Junior Golden Gloves champion and and also won a Pennsylvania open class Golden Gloves title. He holds an amateur win over 140-pound contender Emanuel Taylor and held his own in a fight with future U.S. Olympian Sadam Ali.

Tony Jeter is a Middleweight contender who twice cracked the world rankings and fought Chris Eubank Jr. for the WBA Interim Middleweight title. Jeter formed his promotional company and promoted 20 eventos. Jeter is a licensed promoter in Maryland, Washington DC., Virginia and is waiting to receive a promoters license in Pennsylvania.
Weimer is expected to make his debut under the Jeter Promotions banner on Abril 9at the Springfield ABC in Springfield, Virginia.

LOWELL, Masa. (Febrero 11, 2016) – Team Central had the edge in last night’s novice class semifinals of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, at Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Team Central had five individual winners, followed by Team South and Team West with three victories and Team North had two. The novice class finals of the N.E. The Fight of the Night was the light heavyweight match of the novice class as Team South’s Henry Ventura (N. Peter Welch’s Gym had seven winners last night: open – Hyde Park welterweight Jennifer Perella and Brookline light welterweight Abraham Nova; novice – Dorchester lightweightJonathen DePina y mediano Brian Lawrence, East Boston lightweight Claire Duffy peso welter ligero, Boston light welterweight Katie Gregory and Franklin heavyweight Resultados de la segunda ronda preliminar del Campeonato Anual de Guantes de Oro de Lowell Sun Charities de Lowell.
Lowell West End Gym and Grealish Boston had the second-most winners last evening with two apiece.
Anoche, 15 matches went the distance, including several upsets, along with one technical knockout and a two walkovers.
All CNE finals winners qualified to compete in the upcoming New England Tournament of Champions, also held at Lowell Memorial Auditorium, comenzando next Thursday night with the semifinals of the novice division.

LOWELL, Masa. (Enero 29, 2016) – For the second week in a row all 13 matches went the three-round distance in last night’s Central New England (mayor Lowell) semifinals round of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, featuring open and novice class action, at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Returning New England welterweight champion Xavier Vega, representing Canal Street Boxing in Lawrence (Massachusetts), era una 4-1 winner against Michael Fontenez, of Nashua, NH.
Peter Welch’s Gym in South Boston led the hit parade with three winners, all in the novice class: ligero Jonathan Depina, welter Lipi Fernandes y mediano Brian Lawrence. LOWELL, Masa. (Enero 25, 2016) – Returning New England Golden Gloves welterweight champion Xavier Vega, de Lawrence (Massachusetts), leads a host of talented open and novice class amateur boxers into this Thursday night’s (Jan. 8) in the Central New England (mayor Lowell) semifinals of the 70º annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
The 21-year-old Vega, representing Canal Street Boxing, faces Nashua (NH) desafiador Michael Fontanez in one of eight open class matches. There are also eight novice class matches scheduled.

LOWELL, Masa. (Enero 23, 2016) – Resultados de la segunda ronda preliminar del Campeonato Anual de Guantes de Oro de Lowell Sun Charities de Lowell (mayor Lowell) quarterfinals round of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship was held last night at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium with 13 highly competitive matches in the novice class.
Todos 13 matches went the three-round distance for 39 rounds of action that the large crowed enjoyed from start to finish. The super heavyweight match between Dorchester’s 381-pound Ivens Derival and Haverhill’s 266-pound Kyle Davis was of special especially because of their respective sizes. Davis won by way of a three-round decision, 4-1, in a back-and-forth match that had fans standing throughout.
