NEW ENGLAND FIGHTS ANNONCE LES RÉSULTATS DE LEWISTON

Lewiston, Maine (Juin 18, 2016) - Combats Nouvelle-Angleterre (NEF) a organisé le dernier événement de la promotion du combat, “NEF 24: TERRE PROMISE” Samedi nuit au Colisée Androscoggin Bank de Lewiston, Maine. L'événement a présenté une gamme complète de boxe professionnelle, arts martiaux mixtes amateurs (MMA) et des combats de MMA professionnels. Presque 2,000 emballé les salles sacrées où Muhammad Ali a autrefois défendu le championnat du monde des poids lourds contre Sonny Liston. Un hommage vidéo spécial a été présenté en l'honneur d'Ali avant le début de l'événement.

 

Pour la deuxième fois depuis avril, Brandon Berry (11-2-1) et James Lester(11-9-1) est allé la distance. Ce temps, contrairement au dernier combat qui a été marqué par un match nul, il y avait un gagnant. Lester retourne dans sa ville natale de Detroit, Michigan, le nouveau champion de boxe poids welter junior du Nord-Est après avoir remporté une décision unanime.

Lewiston, Maine (Juin 3, 2016) - Ce sera une célébration de tout ce qui concerne l'Americana lorsque la Nouvelle-Angleterre se battra (NEF) retourne samedi au Colisée de la Banque Androscoggin, Juin 18, 2016. La promotion de combat très populaire offrira une fois de plus aux fans une nuit complète d'arts martiaux mixtes (MMA) et action de boxe professionnelle.

 

Dans l'événement principal de la partie boxe de la carte de combat, Brandon “Le Cannon” Baie (11-1-1) défendra le titre des poids welter juniors du Nord-Est contre le challenger Jacques “Le Bad Boy de Motor City” Lester (10-9-1). Les deux se sont battus pour un match nul sur les juges’ tableaux de bord en avril dernier à Lewiston. Ils ont accepté de se retrouver avec le titre de Berry en jeu. Ce temps, cependant, il y aura un nombre impair de tours (sept pour être exact) pour réduire les chances d'un autre tirage au sort.

Erickson aura du pain sur la planche sous la forme du toujours difficile Amos Collins (4-5) à un poids de 161 livres.

 

Coéquipier d'Erickson, Mat “Ken Doll” Denning (3-2), verra également l'action sur la carte professionnelle MMA lors de sa rencontre Brandon Bushaw (1-2) dans un combat de poids plume.

 

La carte amateur MMA sera titrée par un match revanche pour le titre des poids mouches comme Ryan Burgess (2-0) se défend contre l'ancien champion, et l'athlète dont il a pris le titre, Dustin Veinott (4-4). Lewiston, Maine (Mai 25, 2016) - Combats Nouvelle-Angleterre (NEF) retourne au Colisée Androscoggin Bank à Lewiston, Maine surJuin 18, 2016 avec “NEF 24: TERRE PROMISE.” The fight promotion will put on another full night of mixed-martial-arts (MMA) cagefights and pro boxing bouts. Plus tôt aujourd'hui,, NEF executives announced the headline fight for the boxing portion of the fight card. West Forks, Maine’s own Brandon “Le Cannon” Baie (11-1-1) will put the Northeast Junior Welterweight Title on the line in a rematch against Detroit, Michigan’s Jacques “Le Bad Boy de Motor City” Lester (10-9-1).

 

Berry and Lester met earlier this spring at “NEF 22” à Lewiston. The six-round bout was ruled a majority draw on the judges’ tableaux de bord. Cette fois-ci, cependant, NEF executives had a trick up their sleeves – add a seventh round to all but guarantee a winner.

I think those are some key ingredients to a great matchup. I have a lot of respect for James , his boxing ability, and what he brings to the table. I was impressed with his speed, his all around toughness, and his ring generalship. I’m excited to headline another card in Lewiston, and can’t wait for the crowd to enjoy my fight, along with a few other boxing matches that include some talented Maine boxers. I hope that we can draw a big crowd and have a quality night of fights. See you all on the 18th!”

 

“I’m most definitely looking forward to fighting in Maine again,” said Lester, a former top-ranked national amateur boxer. “The fans there are awesome. I even gained a few fans from my last fight who’s been messaging me on a regular like a young guy by the name of Hunter Moore who messages me every week making sure I’m training hard for the rematch.”

 

Lester is a product of the world-famous Kronk Gym in Detroit where Thomas “Hitman” Hearns (61-5-1, 48 KOs), Oscar De La Hoya (39-6, 30 KOs), Lennox Lewis (41-2-1, 32 KOs) and Wladimir Klitschko (64-4, 53 KOs), entre autres, have prepared for world title bouts under legendary trainer, the late Emanuel Steward. “The only thing that will be different this time is I will be in better condition. That was my only downfall last time. This time I’ll be able to box and stay on my toes for the tough pressure that Brandon brings.”

Lewiston, Maine (Avril 23, 2016) - Combats Nouvelle-Angleterre (NEF), Numéro un la promotion de la lutte régionale de l'Amérique, held its most recent event, “NEF 22: TOUS LES CHEMINS MÈNENT ICI,” Saturday night at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston, Maine. On the boxing portion of the card, Brandon “Le Cannon” Baie (11-1-1) fought to a majority draw in a six-round contest with James Lester (10-9-1). Many of Berry’s supporters in attendance felt that he won the fight, but two of the judges had it even on the scorecards.

 

The headliner of the amateur MMA card saw Caleb salle (7-3) captured the vacant amateur featherweight title with a second-round submission of Erik Nelson (2-3). On the professional side of the MMA card, Devin Powell (6-1) took home the lightweight championship by defeating Jesse Erickson (6-5) in the first round via technical knockout.

Lewiston, Maine (Mars 31, 2016) - Combats Nouvelle-Angleterre (NEF), Numéro un la promotion de la lutte régionale de l'Amérique, tiendra son prochain événement, “NEF 22: TOUS LES CHEMINS MÈNENT ICI” sur Samedi, Avril 23, 2016 au Colisée Androscoggin Bank de Lewiston, Maine. The fight card is scheduled to feature three professional boxing matches, six professional MMA bouts, and twelve exciting amateur MMA contests.

 

On the professional boxing side of the card, Northeast Junior Welterweight Champion, and the pride of West Forks, Maine, Brandon “Le Cannon” Baie(11-1, 7 KOs) returns to the ring for a six-rounder with Detroit, Michigan’s James Lester (10-9, 4 KOs). Baie, one of the most popular boxers to ever come out of Maine, will look for his fourth consecutive victory since returning from a shoulder injury last year.

 

That will prove easier said than done with Lester standing in the opposite corner. Lester is a product of the world-famous Kronk Gym in Detroit where world champions like Thomas “Hitman” Hearns (61-5-1, 48 KOs), Oscar De La Hoya (39-6, 30 KOs), Lennox Lewis (41-2-1, 32 KOs) and Wladimir Klitschko (64-4, 53 KOs) have trained under the late Emmanuel Steward. Lester was ranked number-two nationally as an amateur. He presents a dangerous threat to Berry, one that could very well play the role of “becquet” à “Le Cannon” and his legion of fans.

 

After a bloody war of a professional boxing debut at “NEF 21” mois dernier, NEF MMA regular Crowsneck Boutin (0-0-1) will once again step into the boxing ring, this time facing Brandon Montella (3-0, 2 KOs). Montella, now a resident of Massachusetts, grew up in Maine and served in the United States Marine Corps.

The bitter rivals will meet at a fight weight of 150-pounds at “NEF 22” in an MMA bout. The bout will be Harvey’s professional debut after a stellar 5-1 amateur career that saw him capture the NEF MMA Amateur Lightweight Title, as well as the northeast regions number-one ranking. The well-publicized personal issues between Harvey and Denning will be settled in the cage on April 23rd.

 

The professional portion of the MMA card will also feature the pro debut of Harvey’s Young’s MMA teammate Aaron “Implacable” Lacey (0-0) as he takes on veteran “Incassable 2.0” Derek Shorey (3-5) dans un combat de poids plume. Baie, the pride of small-town West Forks, Maine, has shined since returning from a shoulder injury last year. He has won his last three in a row, including a technical knockout (OMS) stoppage of Tollison Lewis (2-1, 1 KO) earlier this month in Lewiston. The upcoming fight with Lester will see Berry return to his native 140-pound junior welterweight division for the first time since his injury. All three of his recent wins have come in the heavier welterweight and super welterweight divisions.

 

“April 23rd will be a big turning point in my boxing career,” said Berry when reached for comment. “This will be my fourth time headlining NEF’s boxing portion of the event, and I want to thank Nick (DiSalvo, NEF promoter), Mat (Peterson, NEF matchmaker) and Pete (Czymbor, NEF Director of Boxing Operations) for the opportunity. I asked for a challenge and to make it back down to my regular fight weight of 140-pounds, and that’s what I’m getting with Detroit’s James Lester. I think the crowd will be very happy and impressed with the talent level James brings. This is a big test for me and I hope that with nine weeks to prepare it’s a test that I can pass. He brings so much to the table that can give me problems in the ring, so me showing up anything less than 100% will be unacceptable.

 

“I know that Tommy (Duquette), Ed (LaVache), Luke (Yetten) and the rest of Boston Boxing will push me to the limit and bring me into the ring prepared. James Lester has been around and fought some very good fighters. As Berry noted, James Lester is a product of the world-famous Kronk Gym of Detroit, Michigan. It was there he honed his craft alongside world champions like Thomas “Hitman” Hearns (61-5-1, 48 KOs), Oscar De La Hoya (39-6, 30 KOs), Lennox Lewis (41-2-1, 32 KOs) and Wladimir Klitschko (64-4, 53 KOs), pour ne en nommer que quelques-uns, under legendary trainer Emanuel Steward. Lewiston, Maine (Février 7, 2016) - Combats Nouvelle-Angleterre (NEF), Numéro un la promotion de la lutte régionale de l'Amérique, held its most recent event, “NEF 21: The Immortals” Samedi nuit au Colisée Androscoggin Bank de Lewiston, Maine. The Colisée was a packed house for the promotion’s second hybrid mixed-martial-arts (MMA) and professional boxing event. Fight fans were treated to a marathon evening of nonstop action featuring 26 bouts in total.

 

In the MMA main event of the evening, in what can only be described as a “Thriller en francais,” Bruce “Pretty Boy” Boyington (13-8) defeated Jon Lemke (5-4) via split decision to retain the NEF MMA Professional Lightweight Title. Boyington and Lemke battled back-and-forth for five brutal rounds in what many in attendance were calling one of the best fights in NEF history.

 

In the boxing headliner, Northeast Junior Welterweight Champion Brandon “Le Cannon” Baie (11-1) handed Tollison Lewis the first loss of his professional boxing career (2-1) with a second-round stoppage via technical knockout (OMS).

 

On the amateur MMA portion of the card, three inaugural champions were crowned. Ryan Glover (3-1) took home the light heavyweight title after defeating Mike Williams (1-1), while Johnny Crafts (4-0) captured the bantamweight strap and Ricky Dexter (5-2) won the welterweight championship.

 

NEF also announced that its next event would take place on Avril 23, 2016, once again at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston.

A pair of professional boxing bouts will be featured on the main card of the evening. Joel “Baby Bull” Évêque (0-0-1) returns to action after more than a year’s absence to face MMA regular Crowsneck Boutin (0-0) in a light-heavyweight four-round bout. Northeast Junior Welterweight Champion Brandon “Le Cannon” Baie (10-1) will attempt to make it three wins in a row when he steps in the ring to face undefeated Tollison Lewis (2-0) in a six-round, non-title, super-welterweight contest. Both Berry and Lewis are coming off wins in the boxing ring at “NEF XX” ce passé Novembre.

 

The professional portion of the MMA card will be headlined by the long-awaited meeting between Bruce “Pretty Boy” Boyington (12-8) et Jon Lemke (5-3). Dubbed “The Battle for Bangor,” with both men living and training in the Bangor, Maine area, Boyington’s NEF MMA Professional Lightweight Title will be on the line. Number-one contender Lemke will be looking to capture the first championship of his MMA career.

 

The co-main event of the evening on the professional MMA card will see local Lewiston-Auburn favorite Jesse “Le Viking” Erickson (6-4) prenant Devin Powell (4-1) in a lightweight matchup. Powell returns to the NEF cage for the first time since May 2014, while Erickson will be looking for his fourth consecutive win in Lewiston.

 

A total of three title fights will headline the amateur MMA side of the card. Young’s MMA standout Josh Harvey (5-1) defends his lightweight title against Florida’s Andrew “Ling-Ling” Tamayo (8-1). Caleb Farrington (3-0) etRicky Dexter (4-2) will decide the first-ever NEF MMA Amateur Welterweight Champion, tandis que Henry Clark (3-1) et Johnny Artisanat (3-0) meet to determine the inaugural amateur bantamweight titleholder.

“This is a classic battle of size and strength against technique,” ladite NEF co-propriétaire et promoteur Nick DiSalvo. “In one corner you have a polished boxer with a solid amateur background in the form of Brandon Berry, and he will be fighting in a heavier weight class in this bout. In the other corner you have a powerful brawler with an MMA background in the form of Tollison Lewis, and he has fought most of his career at 155 and 170-pounds. You can’t script a better contrast in styles for a bout like this. Just about anything could happen. It’s anyone’s fight. It’s going to be wild in the Colisee when this one goes off.”

 

Berry is coming off what many consider to be the defining win of his still-young professional career over gritty Mexican veteran Roberto Valenzuela (73-70-2) last November at “NEF XX.” Despite suffering a bad cut above his eye early in the fight, Berry maintained his composure and looked sharp on his way to a unanimous decision victory in the first eight-round fight of his career. The West Forks, Maine native was a 2013 Northern New England Golden Gloves champion as an amateur. The fight with Lewis is expected to be the last Berry will compete in above his usual 140-pound junior welterweight division.

 

“It’s great to be getting back in action inside the ring so soon, especially after suffering such a nasty cut over my eye from my last fight in November,” said Berry. “Thank you NEF for putting yet another very tough opponent in front of me. Tollison is a class act in and out of the ring, and I think our styles will make a crowd pleasing bout. I remember being undefeated still and I know how important keeping the ‘0’ on the record is. Tollison is a big, strong athlete and I’m sure he will be more than prepared. Both him and I understand competition, and will most likely be friends after this event. Tollison Lewis’s foray into the boxing world was unplanned. Lewis is a member of Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) in Lewiston where he trains under boxing coach Scott Frost.
