UNCASVILLE, Conn. (Août 25, 2016) – Le Temple de la renommée de la boxe du Connecticut (CBHOF) a annoncé sa classe de six membres 2016 être intronisé pendant la 12TH Dîner annuel CBHOF Gala d'intronisation vendredi nuit,Novembre 4, dans la salle de bal Uncas au Mohegan Sun.
Les nouveaux intronisés au CBHOF sont l'entraîneur / boxeur amateur de Stamford Orlando Montalvo, Newington ancien directeur de boxe ESPN Bob Yalen, Boxeur de Wallingford Sean Malone, Jr., New Bedford (MA) boxeur “Sucra” Ray Oliveira, Juge Waterbury Jean “Duc” Lawson et Mashantucket Pequot Game & Commissaire aux sports Kenny Reels.

Montalvo et sa femme, Sandra, déménagé à Stamford en 1980, formation de combattants amateurs pour le premier 20 ans dans les parcs et dans leur arrière-cour jusqu'à déménager à l'Union Memorial Church pendant sept ans. Orlando était un boxeur amateur et professionnel dans son Porto Rico natal, voyager à travers le monde pour concourir. Il a gagné 110 de 125 matchs amateurs et 22 de 29 en tant que professionnel avec 18 KO, atteindre un non. 10 note dans la division poids moyen junior.
Yalen est surtout connu, peut-être, en tant que directeur de boxe pour ESPN et son populaireVendredi Night Fights série. Il a également été consultant pour ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox et Showtime. Récipiendaire de la Boxing Writers Association of America Prix Sam Taub pour l'excellence en radiodiffusion, Yalen était rédacteur en chef adjoint du Ring Record Book et de FightFax. Il a également été directeur des sports & Divertissement à Mohegan Sun pendant que l'un des membres originaux du conseil d'administration de CBHOF, contribuer grandement au succès de son dîner de remise des prix inaugural.
Malone est le fils de l'intronisé au CBHOF Sean Malone, Sr., qui a été intronisé 2011. Il avait un 23-6 (21 KOs) record. En 1992, il a eu l'une de ses victoires les plus notables contre Greg Cadiz pour le titre poids mi-moyen du Nevada State. Il a également vaincu Pat Ireland en 1993 pour la couronne des poids welters de la Nouvelle-Angleterre.
Oliveira était une combattante polyvalente qui a établi un record dans un combat avec Zack Padilla, dans lequel ils ont jeté plus de 1,000 poinçons combinés. Lawson a été juge pour un combat pour le titre mondial des poids lourds en Allemagne entre Wladimir Klitschko et Météo à Francesco Pianetta. Il a également été impliqué dans des combats mettant en vedette des champions du monde tels que Roy Jones, Jr., “Merveilleux” Marvin Hagler, Joe Calzaghe, Tchad Dawson, Antonio Tarver et Zab Judah. Fort Myers, FL (Août 25, 2016) – Hard-hitting welterweight standout Bryant “Goodfella” Perrella will challenge Cuban contender Yordenis Ugas over ten roundsMardi, Septembre 27.
The bout will air on Fox Sports 1 as part of Premier Boxing Champions’ “Toe-to-Toe Mardi” series.
Perrella and Ugas were slated to meet August 12 but the bout was surprisingly scrapped by the athletic commission just days before the opening bell.
The fighting pride of Fort Myers, FL, Perrella burst onto the national scene with a second round knockout of David Grayton Juin 2 sur ESPN. The 27-year-old has an excellent 14-0 record avec 13 victoires à venir par KO. A 6’0 southpaw, Perrella’s displayed excellent power in both hands and stopped five of his last six foes within two rounds.
Born and raised in Cuba but fighting out of Miami, FL, Ugas garnered international attention as an amateur by capturing a bronze medal in the 2008 Jeux olympiques. He won many tournaments and regularly defeated top fighters from across the globe. As a pro, Ugas owns a solid 16-3 ledger and has 7 gagne par KO. Sur Août 12, the crafty Cuban outworked previously unbeaten Jamal James (20-0) en route to an impressive unanimous decision.
Perrella, who was ready willing and able to fight August 12, saw Ugas’ victory over James and has even more motivation to win in dominant fashion September 27.
“I’m really fired up for this because of the unfair circumstances causing the cancellation for the August 12 date,” said Perrella. “Now that we’ve got everything rescheduled, my frustrations will be taken out on Ugas. I’m looking forward to facing him and showing the world that I’m a serious player in the welterweight division!"

Both Fernandez and Roman will be making their DBE debuts on the upcoming special edition Broadway de boxe card in the Premier Ballroom at the beautiful Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, CT, suivant Jeudi, Septembre 1. À seulement 20 ans, the junior lightweight Fernandez (8-0, 6 KO) is one of the most promising young prospects to come out of Spain in years. Standing at 5’11”, Fernandez is extremely tall for the 130lb. division and has devastating power in both hands. Fernandez caught the eye of former middleweight kingpin and future Hall-of-Famer Sergio Martinez when he was still fighting as an amateur. Martinez immediately saw star potential and signed Fernandez to his promotional company, MaravillaBox Promotions, en 2015 and soon after began courting the young Fernandez to his own former promoter Lou DiBella. DiBella and Martinez made things official in June, signing Fernandez to a co-promotional deal at this year’s Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA) awards dinner, where DiBella received the James A. Farley award for honesty and integrity in boxing.

Fernandez is set to make his DBE and US debut against the very tough Mexican Naciff Castillo (17-8-2, 5 KO) in an eight-round junior lightweight matchup, while Roman is set to square off against Khaaliq Core (0-1) in a four-round welterweight matchup.
The Broadway Boxing card is headlined by fellow once-beaten prospects prospects Amos “2 Lisse” Cowart (11-1-1, 9 KO) et “Nice” Nick DeLomba(10-1, 2 KO) squaring off in an eight-round super lightweight match-up.

Sur Samedi, Octobre 1, 2016, au pavillon de l'UIC à Chicago, Warriors Boxing Promotions will resurrect the legendary “Windy City Fight Nights” series of boxing shows with an event featuring a pair of unbeaten locals in separate co-main-events.
Headlining the first Windy City Fight Night in four years will be super lightweight Ramiro “Le petit loup” Carrillo (11-0, 7 KOs) and super welterweight Achour Esho (11-0, 7 KOs) in eight-round (Carrillo) and six-round (Esho) bouts against opponents to be announced.
“I’m very happy and excited to be fighting in the co-main event. I’ve fought in several Windy City Fight Nights and had some great fights. I’m eager to get that rush back that I felt going to war in Chicago in front of my hometown family and friends. This is why I came back to boxing. I want to have big, exciting fights,” said Achour Esho.
“I’ve been working very hard for a long time and I’m happy it’s finally coming true. I’ve been dreaming about fighting in a main event in my hometown and it’s finally here. It’s my time to shine. I have a lot of family friends and fans coming out to watch me,” said Ramiro Carrillo.
Also appearing in four-round bouts will be thus-far perfect super featherweight Josh Hernandez (3-0, 3 KOs) de Chicago; lightweight Jose Romero (1-2) of Whiting, Indiana; super middleweight Ruben Schobitz 1-0, 1 KO of Miami via Spain; Chicago lightweight Jessica McCaskill (1-1, 1 KO) and Chicago’s Yousif Saleh will make his professional debut.
