The entire card has been announced for this weekend’s (Saturday, October 1) Windy City Fight Night at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago.
 
In the night’s main event, popular super welterweight Achour Esho (11-0, 7 KOs) of Skokie, Illinois, will attempt the second bout of his comeback against capable Eduardo Flores (24-22-3, 15 KOs) of Quito, Ecuador in a six-round battle.

A battle between an undefeated fighter and a once-beaten fighter will serve as the main supporting bout, as Joshua Greer (9-1-1 3 KOs) of Chicago will take on Juan Gabriel Medina (10-0, 9 KOs) of Dominican Republic in a six-round bantamweight bout between up-and-coming contenders.
 
In one of the featured bouts, exciting knockout puncher Josh Hernandez (3-0, 3 KOs) of Chicago will face Juan M Saldana (2-3) of Tijuana, Mexico, in a four-round super featherweight contest.
 
Also featured is a four-round battle of undefeated fighters, as super featherweight Giovanny Cabrera Mioletti (2-0, 1 KOs) of Chicago takes on Gavino Guaman (4-0) of River Falls, Wisconsin.
 
On the undercard, Chicago’s Yousif Saleh will make his professional debut against Hector Fernandez (2-4, 1 KOs) of Coamo, Puerto Rico in a four-round super featherweight bout; and Chicago lightweight Jessica McCaskill (1-1, 1 KO) will look for her second professional victory against debuting Alexandria Williams (pro debut) of New York City.
 
Windy City Fight Nights were conceived and presented by Warriors Boxing Vice President Dominic Pesoli to introduce and develop local boxing talent. Windy City Fight Nights featured a number of up-and-coming fighters, including nearly all of professional boxing’s current champions and top contenders from the Chicago area including top-rated local talent as Andrzej Fonfara and Adrian Granados, as well as international imports such as current light heavyweight champion Sergei Kovalev.

A TRUE CHRISTMAS GIFT
MONTRÉAL (September 29, 2016) – Ottawa and Outaouais boxing fans in Canada will receive a special Christmas gift when Montreal’s adopted son and the most dangerous world title challenger, Artur Beterbiev (10-0, 10 KOs), faces Paraguay slugger and reigning WBC Latino light heavyweight champion Isidro Ranoni Prieto (26-1-3, 22 KOs) in a real power punching affair, December 23 in Gatineau as part of the GYM Boxing Series, presented by the Casino de Lac Leamy in collaboration with Videotron.
Beterbiev is world ranked by all over the major sanctioning bodies: International Boxing Federation (IBF) #2, World Boxing Council (WBC) and World Boxing Association (WBA) #3, World Boxing Organization (WBO) #4, and The Ring magazine #6.
WBO #10 rated contender Prieto has won his last two fights by knockout, since losing by unanimous decision to Eleider Alvarez in a spectacular 12-round fight, in which he refused to give an inch to the WBC # 1 challenger on August 15, 2015 at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
Expect fireworks as the KO ratio for Beterbiev and Prieto is an incredible 80-percent.

Beterbiev is a bright GYM prospect. A true jewel, the Chechen fighter brutalized the international amateur scene.
The ferocious Beterbiev represented Russia in two Olympic Games in Beijing and London. He also won a gold and silver medals at the prestigious World Amateur Championships, as well as gold medals in numerous amateur tournaments including the Wold Cup and European Championships.
In 2010, the International Boxing Association (AIBA) named him its Boxer of the Year, as the best pound-for-pound amateur fighter in the world. He also defeated current WBO light-heavyweight world champion Sergey Kovalev in the amateurs.
The gladiator from Daghestan left behind family and friends to fulfill his dream of becoming a professional world champion.
“He has all the qualities required to become world champion,” highly regarded strength-and-conditioning coach Andre Kulesza said of Beterbiev when he first signed a promotional contract with GYM. “He is healthy and always positive. He is highest level of athlete who I have ever had the chance to work with in Montreal. He has a superior genetically than anybody I ever work with and that’s really saying something! Artur is naturally strong, agile and flexible. He will go up very quickly and destroy his rivals. Expect lots of KOs,”
As a professional, Beterbiev has destroyed every opponent he’s faced. In only his sixth fight, he crushed former IBF champion Tavoris Cloud in less than two rounds to capture the NABA strap.
In his Showtime debut, Beterbiev stopped previously undefeated Jeff Page Jr. second round. Spaniard southpaw Gabriel Campillo was next in line, in an IBF eliminator bout for the IBF #2 world ranking, which was televised in the first Premier Boxing Champions show, live on CBS. Campillo, a former WBA champion, was dropped and then viciously knocked out in the fourth round.

After a one-year absence due to a shoulder injury, Beterbiev climbed back in the ring, his first main PBC main event broadcasted on ESPN this past June 4 at the Bell Centre against Argentine Olympian Ezequiel Maderna, who failed to get through the fourth round.
Highly ranked by all the sanctioning bodies despite having only 10 pro fights, Beterbiev has opened eyes all around the boxing world, and the scariest part is that it is only the beginning for him.
“I’m really happy with the turn of events,” Beterbiev remarked. During his time in Montreal Prieto has shown that he is a true warrior and that’s the kind of opponent I want to face. “

Prieto has dreamed of becoming the first Paraguayan world boxing champion.

After winning his first six pro fights and the Paraguay national title, he resettled in Argentina in 2009 to continue his development.  In Buenos Aires, Prieto was taken under the wing of the first coach, Raul Paniagua, mentor and uncle of former world championSergio “Maravilla” Martinez.

“We have always encouraged each other, me and Sergio,” Prieto said in an interview with a South American website. “He started from the bottom and that is why we have so many things in common.”

Currently ranked # 10 by the WBO, “El Guerrero” has wiped out South American competition, knocking out most of his rivals, including Brazilian brawler Jackson Junior.
His lone defeat was to WBC Silver champion Alvarez, and since then Prieto has won two bouts, both by knockout.  Slick and freakishly strong with heavy hands, Prieto is a serious threat.
“I’ve worked in various places but the Casino du Lac Leamy is one of the places I love the most, ” added Éric Bélanger, trainer and organizer of events in the Gatineau and Ottawa region “It’s beautiful and prestigious; intimate but the atmosphere is amazing. Everyone connects and is part of the show. Young to be in action this Friday night as he fights for WBA NABA title live on CBS Sports Network from Las Vegas
Nutley, NJ (September 29, 2016)–GH3 Promotions is pleased to announce the signing of three top undefeated prospects to promotional contracts.
Bantamweight Stephon Young; Super Featherweight Antonio Williams and lightweight Logan Yoon join the GH3 Promotions stable and will be featured in events throughout the United States
Young of St. Louis, Missouri has a record of 14-0-3 with six knockouts.
The 28 year-old is a five year-pro and has two nationally televised draws with Antonio Nieves (12-0) and Nikolay Potapov (14-0).
Young will be back in action this Friday night when he takes on Juan Antonio Lopez for the WBA NABA title in a bout that will be shown live on CBS Sports Network.
Williams of Fort Lauderdale, Florida has a record of 5-0 with four knockouts.
The 19 year-old was an accomplished amateur as he amassed six-national titles in a 169 fight amateur career.
Williams is known as a boxer-puncher, who is coming off a first round stoppage over Daniel Chavez on September 9th in Jalisco, Mexico.
Yoon was a major amateur sensation who competed in 90 amateur bouts and was a  8-time state champion in Hawaii, who captured The Jr. Olympic Bronze medal, Adidas National Champion, Title National Champion, Jr. National Golden Gloves Champion, and Ringside National Champion.
He is Korean and Puerto Rican, who calls Hawaii home.
Because of his amateur prowess, he was given a special dispensation to turn professional at the age of 17.  He did just that as he registered a first round stoppage over Leonardo Cervantes on September 9th in Jalisco, Mexico.
“These are three more key signings for us,” said GH3 Promotions CEO Vito Mielnicki.
“Stephon has shown that he can compete with any of the top prospects in the bantamweight division.  We also now have two of the youngest and brightest prospects in the country in Williams and Yoon.  They are terrific talents and all three are managed by Henry Rivalta.  I have wanted to work and do business with Henry for a long time as we share the same vision on moving fighters, so I think these three guys will be impact fighters in the sport for many years to come.”

Cruiserweight Howard Ready for ‘The Drill’ This Saturday Night in Minnesota

Promoter Greg Cohen says his Atlanta-based cruiserweight Brian “The Bigg Risk” Howard will have to be extremely careful when he fights in the main event this Saturday night (October 1) at the Grand Casino in Hinckley, Minnesota.
 
Howard (11-1, 9 KOs) will face dangerous local veteran Phil “The Drill” Williams (15-8-2, 14 KOs) in a potentially dangerous eight-round showdown.
 
Williams, a devastating puncher, has run hot and cold his entire career, but can be spectacular at times. He holds the distinction of scoring the fastest knockout in boxing history (10 seconds) over Brandon Burke of Iowa in 2007. video
 
Able to switch hit from his southpaw stance to orthodox several times during a fight, Williams has also fought to draws with well-known veterans Caleb Truax and Derrick Findley. In his next to last fight, he won the Minnesota State Cruiserweight Championship by stopping then 15-1 Al Sands in one round.
 
The capable Howard, however, took the undefeated record of Maryland-based Alex Guerrero (15-1) in his last fight and has trained hard for this interesting challenge.
 
“He’s ready for another ‘Bigg Risk’,” said Cohen. “Don’t forget, Brian can punch too. He has prepared for this dangerous challenge and should be ready, even if the best version of Phil Williams shows up on Saturday. Brian is a talented fighter and we have all confidence he will prevail.”
 
On the undercard, Ryan Watson (2-0-1, 2 KOs), a former nationally ranked amateur boxer from Duluth, MN, who is now one of the top prospects in the cruiserweight division competes. Coming off a highly controversial draw, Watson is stepping up the competition by fighting 5-1-1 Lorenzo Selectmon of St. Joseph, MO.

Also of note is the return of Delorien Caraway (6-0 5 KOs) of Minneapolis, MN, one of the top prospects nationally in the 140-pound weight class. Caraway just spent time helping boxing’s top star, Canelo Alvarez, prepare for his upcoming fight.

26-year-old bantamweight James Gordon Smith (10-0, 6 KOs) of Detroit was last seen at a previous Detroit Brawl, on May 14 of this year, going to electrifying war against Mexico’s tough Pablo Cupul. Smith won a unanimous six-round decision and the hearts of the fans with his thrilling back-and-forth victory.
21-year-old bantamweight Jarico O’Quinn (3-0, 2 KOs) of Detroit was last in the ring on August 6 in Temecula, California, winning a unanimous four-round decision over local product Johnathan Quiroz on CBS Sports Network.
29-year-old super welterweight Serdar Hudayberdiyev (3-0, 2 KOs) of Brooklyn, New York via Turkmenabat, Turkmenistan, was last seen on July 16of this year at yet another Detroit Brawl, winning a four-round unanimous decision over formerly undefeated Steven Andrade.
28-year-old super middleweight Dorell Van Horn Jr. (9-1, 6 KOs) of Detroit will be looking to rebound from suffering his first career loss in August of this year. Fighting on the undercard of a Showtime-televised event, Van Horn dropped an action-packed four-round unanimous decision to New York veteran Henry Beckford at Rhinos Stadium in Rochester, New York.
29-year-old cruiserweight Alexey Zubov (12-1, 7 KOs) of Brooklyn, New York via Magnitogorsk, Russia, last fought in August was well. Zubov won a unanimous six-round decision over Eric George at the same Showtime show at Rhino’s Stadium.

Chester, PA (September 28, 2016)–Philadelphia based junior welterweights David Gonzales and Samuel Teah will square off in an eight-round bout that will headline an eleven-bout card on Friday, November 11th at Harrahs Philadelphia.
The show is promoted by King’s Promotions.
The 26 year-old Gonzales has a record of 8-0-2 with two knockouts and in his last bout he won a six-round majority decision over Carlos Velasquez on June 12th in Lakeland, Florida
Teah has a record of 8-1-1 with two knockouts.  He won his first four bouts.  The 29 year-old, who was born in Liberia holds a win over previously undefeated O’Shaquie Foster (8-0) in a bout that was nationally televised on ShoBox: The New Generation.  In his last bout, Teah won a four-round unanimous decision on Samuel Amoako on August 6th in Bristol, PA.
In the eight-round co-feature, Kyrone Davis will fight Chris Fitzpatrick in a middleweight bout.
Davis of Wilmington, Delaware has a record of 10-1 with four knockouts.

The 21 year-old Davis won his first ten bouts, which was highlighted by a six-round unanimous decision over (now WBA number-five contender) Andrew Hernandez (10-2).  The two year-pro will look to get back in the win column after dropping an eight-round unanimous decision to Junior Castillo (9-0) on April 19thin Bethlehem, PA.
Fitzpatrick of Cleveland, Ohio has a record of 15-5 with six knockouts.  The 29 year-old is an eight-year professional who has a won his first fourteen bouts, which included a win over Scott Sigmon (16-2).  Fitzpatrick has also been in the ring with current WBA Middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs.  In his last bout, Fitzpatrick was stopped in three round to world-ranked undefeated contender Rob Brant on August 5th in Temecula, California.

SANTA FE, NM (September 27, 2016) – Cuba’s Yordenis Ugas (17-3, 8 KOs) defeated his second straight unbeaten welterweight Tuesday night as he stopped Bryant Perrella(14-1, 13 KOs) in the fourth round on Premier Boxing Champions TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYS on FS1 and BOXEO DE CAMPEONES on FOX Deportesin the main event from Buffalo Thunder Resort and Casino in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Ugas defeated previously unbeaten Jamal James in August and dedicated this fight to his friend and fellow Cuban, Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez, who tragically passed away Sundaymorning in Miami. Ugas was spectacular from the outset as his first overhand right of the night connected with Perrella and sent him to the canvas.
“The right hand was there early and all night long,” said Ugas. “I was able to land it from the beginning. Then I went to the body. Before I left my corner to start the fight, I said a prayer for Jose, and for sure that was my motivation. I felt his spirit throughout the fight.”
The taller Perrella attempted to control the fight with his jab and looked to land big left hands from the southpaw stance. Ugas was patient throughout the fight and kept his defense tight, never allowing Perrella to break through.
At the end of the third round Ugas landed another big right hand that pushed Perrella into the ropes and forced him into survival mode until the round ended. Perrella tried to get his attack going in the fourth round but Ugas was patiently waiting to deliver powerful counters with the right hand.
Another punishing right hand in the middle of the round sent Perrella hard to the mat and clearly dazed when he rose to his feet. Ugas sensed his moment and attacked Perrella, eventually stalking him into the corner. A final flurry from Ugas forced referee Rocky Burke to halt the bout 2:20 into the round.
“This shows that I’ve put all my losses behind me,” said Ugas. “It doesn’t matter who I fight next. I’m ready for anyone in the division.”
The co-main event saw Ryan “Cowboy” Karl (13-0, 9 KOs) earn a stoppage victory over Jose Quezada (11-1, 6 KOs) after four rounds of action in the super lightweight showdown. The fight was stopped by the ringside doctor after the end of the fourth round.
Karl established his power advantage early on as the two fighters went toe-to-toe but it was Karl who knocked Quezada to the canvas with a stunning right uppercut and a straight right hand that sent his opponent tumbling to the canvas.
Quezada looked to box against Karl and had his best moments in the third round when he began to land his left hook and throw more combinations. Despite taking a few good shots, Karl came out determined in round four and began landing his right hand at will.
The last minute of the round saw the Houston-based fighter landed a series of right hands that eventually began to swell the left eye of Quezada and sent him to the floor for the second time in the fight as the round ended. Quezada was able to get to his feet and return to his corner, but the ringside doctor had seen enough and called a halt to the bout.
The opening televised bout saw Phoenix’s Cesar Alan Valenzuela (13-4-1, 4 KOs) earn a split decision over previously once-beaten Dennis Galarza (13-2, 8 KOs) in their eight round super featherweight attraction.
From the opening bell both men were determined to establish their offense and they both had bright moments in the round. Galarza landed several right hands early but as the fight wore on, Valenzuela got into his offense and was able to keep Galarza going backwards.
Valenzuela also appeared to be the fresher fighter in the later rounds and he ended the bout with a 398-345 advantage in punches thrown and 136-93 in punches landed.
Valenzuela’s strongest round came in the final frame when he stunned Galarza with just over a minute left in the round, forcing his opponent to hold on to survive the eight-rounder. The final judges scores were 77-75 for Galarza and 77-75 twice for Valenzuela.

LAS VEGAS (Sept. 26, 2016) – Former title challenger Ashley “Treasure” Theophane (39-7-1, 11 KO’s) looks to redeem himself after a tough loss back in April as he headlines the main event of Mayweather Promotions Sin City Showdown, Saturday, October 8thfrom Sam’s Town Live in Las Vegas.
“I have been in the gym training harder than ever and mentally preparing after coming up short against Adrien Broner earlier this year,” said Theophane. “I’m excited to get back in the ring on October 8 and be the first to headline the monthly fight series at Sam’s Town that Mayweather Promotions has put together. I will not disappoint. This is for my fans right here in Las Vegas to witness live, and my supporters worldwide. You can expect a great performance come fight night!”
The co-main will feature a battle for the NABF Super Middleweight Title featuring Mayweather Promotions’ own Ronald “The Thrill” Gavril (16-1, 12 KO’s). Also featured on October 8 are Mayweather Promotions’ rising stars including undefeated super lightweight Sanjarbek “War” Rakhmanov (5-0-1, 3 KO’s), Ladarius “Memphis” Miller(11-1, 2 KO’s), who comes off of a win on Sept. 16th, and new members to the stable,Josue Vargas (6-0, 4 KO’s), Xavier Martinez (6-0, 4 KO’s), and Daniel Gonzalez (12-0, 5 KO’s) all in separate bouts!
“It feels good to be back at Sam’s Town. I like fighting in front of a full house and having an intimate feel. You don’t always get that on the big shows when you have to go so early in the day before fans arrive,” said Gavril.
“Last time I fought at this venue I was successful in beating my opponent and I got my fifth consecutive win. I feel confident that I am going to come out victorious again on October 8! I have been training hard and my only goal is to come home as the new NABF Super Middleweight champion. It is an honor to be the co-main on this card, and this is only the beginning of what I want to give back to my fans and the sport of boxing.”
A night full of great boxing will take place under the Mayweather Promotions banner in Las Vegas. Erik Ruiz replaces Emmanuel Quartey vs Hanzel Martinez in Friday Night’s “Knockout Night at the D” main event

LAS VEGAS (September 27, 2016) – Veteran super bantamweight Erik Ruiz has replaced Ghanaian boxer Emmanuel Quartey, who was unable to secure a visa to enter the United States, in this Friday night’s 10-round main event versus Hanzel “Rude Boy” Martinez, headlining a strong “Knockout Night at the D” card, for the vacant World Boxing Association International super bantamweight title.
Airing live (11 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. PT) on CBS Sports Network and internationally viaESPN (digital delay check local listings), “Knockout Night at the D” will be held outdoors under the neon lights at Downtown Las Vegas Events Center.
The “Knockout Night at the D” series, presented by the D Las Vegas and Downtown Las Vegas Events Center, is promoted by Roy Jones Jr. (RJJ) Boxing Promotions.
Hall of Fame announcers Jim “J.R.” Ross and Al Bernstein will call all of the action from ringside with Sean Wheelock handling fighter interviews on CBS Sports Network and in English for ESPN internationally.
Martinez (23-2, 19 KOs), a former WBC United States bantamweight champion, fights out of Tijuana, Mexico.  Ruiz (15-5-1, 6 KOs) is coming off an impressive 10-round draw with 30-1 Horacio Garcia this past May in as Vegas.  He has a notable win over previously unbeaten (11-0-2) Roy Tapia also extended top prospects such as Jessie Magdaleno,Alexis Santiago and Manuel Avila the distance.
“We knew there were some issues with Quartey’s visa situation,” promoter Keith Veltresaid, “so we had Erik Ruiz on hold. It’s unfortunate but things like this happen in boxing and we’re fortunate to have such a quality opponent like Erik as a late replacement.  In fact, he’s fought much tougher opponents than Quartey. Hanzel has 18 knockouts in his 23 wins, but Ruiz has never been stopped as a professional.  We’re confident that the main event will be equally competitive and that fans will enjoy another great night of ‘Knockout Night at the D” boxing.”
In the 10-round co-feature event, Tony Lopez, Jr. (11-1, 4 KOs) takes on Stephon “Showstopper” Young (14-0-3, 6 KOs) for the vacant WBA North American Boxing Association (NABA) bantamweight title.
In the third title fight of the night, undefeated WBA-NABA USA super welterweight champion John “The Phenom” Vera (14-0, 9 KOs) makes his second title defense against Milorad “Micko” Zizic (12-1, 6 KOs) in an 8-round bout opening the televised segment of the card.
Also fighting on the undercard in 4-round bouts are Las Vegas  welterweight Jeremy “J-Flash” Nichols (5-0, 2 KOs) vs. Marquis Hawthorn (4-4, 1 KO), Las Vegas’ 18-year-old bantamweight Max “Baby Face” Ornelas (4-0, 2 KOs) vs. Mulapi “The African Mexican” Enjani (2-2-2, 1 KO), Las Vegas junior lightweight Sal Lopez (3-0) vs.Kenneth Taylor (2-0, 2 KOs), and Las Vegas junior lightweight Randy Moreno (4-0, 3 KOs) vs. Fabian Alaniz (1-0, 0 KOs).

Mykal Fox headlines against Juan Rodriguez on Saturday, November 5th at Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington, Maryland

Fort Washington, Maryland (September 27, 2016)–Undefeated junior welterweight prospect Mykal “The Professor” Fox will take on Juan Rodriguezin an eight-round bout that will headline nine-bout on Saturday, November 5th at the Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington, Maryland.
The card is promoted by King’s Promotions.
Fox of Forestville, Maryland has a record of 11-0 with three knockouts and this will be his fourth bout of 2016.
The 20 year-old Fox turned professional in 2014 and has been kept busy as this will be his 12th contest in 29 months.
In his last bout, Fox stopped Somner Martin in three rounds on August 19th in Washington, DC.
Rodriguez of Haymarket, Virginia has a record of 6-5-1 with five wins coming via stoppage.
The 26 year-old Rodriguez is an eight year professional and he won his first four fights.  He has a fifth round stoppage win over previously undefeated Nathaniel Rivas (5-0).
Fox will be Rodriguez’ fourth undefeated opponent.  Rodriguez is coming off a six-round unanimous decision defeat to Anthony Young (11-2) on April 29th in Atlantic City.
In a six-round bouts:
Cruiserweight Luther Smith (5-1, 4 KO’s ) of Bowie, Maryland,  super Bantamweight Jordan White (3-0, 3 KO’s) of Washington, DC & junior welterweight Kent Cruz (11-0, 6 KO’s) of St. Louis, MO will take on an opponents to be named.
Appearing in four-round bouts will be junior welterweight Christopher Warden(2-0, 2 KO’sO of Lusby, Md; middleweight Patrick Rivera (1-0, 1 KO) of Edgewood, Maryland; super bantamweight Marcus Bates (4-0-1, 4 KO’s) of Washington, DC; junior middleweight Justin Hurd of Accokeek, Maryland will make his pro debut.
Greg Outlaw of Bowie, Maryland will make his pro debut against Lamont White(0-4) of Washington, DC in a junior welterweight bout.
