This marks the fifth consecutive year of the event airing on FloWrestling. The annual BTS youth benefit will take place on Monday, Maig 6, from Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan.

**Members of the 2018 U.S. Men’s and Women’s World Team to compete in annual fundraiser to help raise money for youth non-profit Beat the Streets**

**NEW YORK–** Beat the Streets Wrestling (BTS), the largest grassroots inner city wrestling program in the United States, and USA Wrestling announced today that the annual BTS benefit will be held on Monday, Maig 6, at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. This is the first time in six years that the annual event will be held indoors.

Beat the Streets, Inc. will invite select members of the 2018 U.S. Men’s Freestyle World Team, which placed second in the 2018 World Championships and won seven World medals, as well as select top USA women’s wrestlers. The athletes will compete in freestyle wrestling. Team USA’s opponents will be announced at a later date.

“When we decided to move the event indoors we knew there was only one place iconic enough to host it – Madison Square Garden,” said Beat the Streets Executive Director
**Brendan Buckley**

. “Thanks to the wrestling community, this event has really grown over the past few years and by having it at the Hulu Theater at MSG many more fans will be able to experience the event live in person.”

This year celebrates the 10^º straight year of Beat the Streets Benefit competitions, which began in 2010 and have since become a major showcase of the best of international wrestling. This unique and electrifying annual event has helped Beat the Streets raise millions of dollars to support local youth wrestling programs which empower young people in New York City.
The first Beat the Streets Benefit was held on the U.S.S. Intrepid, un portaavions atracat al costat oest de Manhattan. PAT KELLY TO COMPETE IN FINAL MMA FIGHT ON SEPTEMBER 8 A BANGOR

Maine (Agost 7, 2018) - Lluites de Nova Anglaterra (NEF) celebrarà el seu proper esdeveniment d'arts marcials mixtes, “NEF 35: Temporada dolenta,” a Setembre 8 al Cross Insurance Center de Bangor. The fight will be the final contest for the 53-year-old Kelly who began competing in MMA four years ago in his late 40s. He brought to the cage unmatched wrestling credentials earned through a lifetime on the mats. Kelly is nothing short of a legend in Maine wrestling circles. He won a state championship as a senior competing for the former Camden-Rockport High School. Kelly went on to wrestle for the University of Maine where he claimed a New England title and competed in the national NCAA championships. Després, as a coach Kelly would lead Camden-Rockport and Camden Hills Regional High School to multiple state championships. Among the students he coached is current UFC star Tim Boetsch (21-11). Kelly was inducted into the Maine Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2007.

“I started this journey five years ago in Bangor with Young’s MMA,” said Kelly. “It is only fitting I have my farewell fight in the same great city. I am very grateful to NEF for the opportunity to fight in their cage and ultimately win an ammy title. A mi, age is simply a number. I have searched for tough and competitive challenges my entire career, and this fight is certainly another big challenge.”

For all his accomplishments in wrestling, Kelly’s time in the MMA cage has been impressive as well. He was able to finish his first three bouts on his way to earning a crack at the NEF Amateur Lightweight Championship. Last summer at “NEF 29,” Kelly handed then-undefeated Rafael Velado (4-1), an athlete fourteen years Kelly’s junior, the first loss of his career to claim the belt. Over a year later, Kelly promises to bring his trademark intensity to both his training camp at Young’s MMA and his final fight on Setembre 8.

“I train hard, període,” exclaimed Kelly. “And I am sure my opponent does the same thing, and that’s what it is all about – the willingness to prepare to win. This week on Fight Talk Unlimited we discuss a wide range of topics, beginning with the death of three pro wrestlers in one day. We go on to chat about Cody Garbrandt’s biting comments about fighter pay. We touch on bareknuckle fighting’s resurgence (adding Shawne Merriman to the roster of fighters for one organization), and we recap a wild fight between Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier on last weekends UFC on Fox card. We also preview Garbrandt’s second bite at the TJ Dillashaw apple this weekend at UFC 227. Tony also helps preview one of the biggest fights of the week in Kovalev vs. Alvarez, which he will be attending in Atantic City. We do a boxing roundup of results and previews, and then we end the show with an off-topic talk about nature 🙂

NEF AND BRANDON BUSHAW TO SEND YOUNG ATHLETES TO USM WRESTLING CLINIC

Gorham, Maine (Juny 22, 2018) - Lluites de Nova Anglaterra (NEF) announced earlier today that the fight promotion would once again sponsor an athlete at this year’s Brawlin’ Lobsta Wrestling Clinic & Tournament. The camp is set to take place at the Gorham campus of the University of Southern Maine (USM) des Juliol 17 to July 22. For the fifth year in a row, NEF will select one winner for which the fight promotion will cover tuition to the program.

“It’s a thrill for us to once again be supporting the Brawlin’ Lobsta Wrestling Clinic,” stated NEF co-owner and Matchmaker Matt Peterson. “This year it’s all the more exciting to be partnering with Maine wrestling legend Brandon Bushaw to send not one, but two wrestlers to clinic. Mike Morin’s USM program is exploding and with the latest round of recruits that he’s brought in, I have no doubt that they will be a threat at the national level within the next two to three seasons. I encourage every Maine wrestler to apply for this scholarship to earn a chance to work with Morin’s decorated staff clinicians. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to sharpen your skills, as well as learn some new ones, during the off-season.”

Més, NEF MMA veteran Brandon Bushaw has also agreed to sponsor an athlete in the program this year. Now a business owner residing in South Carolina, Bushaw cut his teeth on the mats growing up in Westbrook, Maine. He won two Maine state titles wrestling for Westbrook High School. After high school, Bushaw went on to wrestle for Michigan State University where he was a teammate of current UFC competitors Rashad Evans and Gray Maynard. He is a member of the Maine Wrestling Hall of Fame.

“I attended Boston University wrestling camp between my sophomore and junior seasons in high school,” recalled Bushaw. “Not only did it change me as a wrestler, but I really feel that it changed me as a person. I have attended and coached many camps, and the life lessons you learn there are very important. I am proud to sponsor a young wrestler to attend USM’s Brawlin’ Lobsta wrestling clinic because I feel it is important to give back to a sport and community that has given me so much!”

Camp instructors Mike Morin and Jon Deupree have both competed in the MMA cage in the past. Morin is the head wrestling coach at USM and a two-time All-American. Deupree is an assistant coach with USM. He was a two-time NCAA national qualifier wrestling for the Huskies.

“I would like to thank NEF for supporting USM wrestling and sponsoring another wrestler to attend the Brawlin’ Lobsta Camp this summer,” said Morin. “This sponsorship is huge in allowing kids to have the opportunity to wrestle year-round who might not have that opportunity otherwise. It’s great for our program at USM and great for the state as a whole to get better in the sport of wrestling!”

Interested contestants are asked to submit a photograph of themselves wrestling via email to newenglandfights@gmail.comalong with a brief statement of 100 words or less detailing why they believe the clinic will help them achieve their goals. The winners will also each receive a pair of tickets to “NEF 35: Temporada dolenta,” as well as an NEF apparel package to wear during the clinic.

NOVA YORK, N.Y. – It rained all week, until this afternoon, and the weather was perfect for the Beat the Streets Benefit at Pier 17 in the Seaport District of Lower Manhattan tonight. The United States showed up with an impressive effort, claiming nine of the 11 international matches in front of the amazing New York skyline.

In the Main Event “Super Match,” Olympic champion and four-time World champion Jordan Burroughs of the USA powered back from trailing 4-0 with a strong second period to defeat two-time Frank Chamizo of Italy, 8-5.

In the other Super Match, American star Jordan Oliver won a 3-3 criteria victory over 2012 Olympic champion Toghrul Asgarov of Azerbaijan.

Other U.S. winners were Tamyra Stock (Femení 68 kg), James Green (Men’s 70 kg), Kyle Dake (Men’s 79 kg), J’den Cox (Men’s 92 kg), Kyle Snyder (Men’s 97 kg), Nick Gwiazdowski (Men’s 125 kg) and Helen Maroulis (Femení 57 kg).
