Usyk (14-0, 11 KOs) de Kíev, Ukraine is WBC and WBO world cruiserweight champion.

La 2012 Olympic Gold Medal winner won the WBO world title with a 12-round unanimous decision over Krzysztof Glowacki on September 17, 2016 a Polònia. Usyk defended the title twice with a 9th round stoppage over Thabiso Mchunu and a 12-round unanimous decision over Michael Hunter.

 

 

 

Usyk scored a 10th round stoppage over former world champion Marco Huck. In his latest bout, Usyk captured the WBC World Cruiserweight title with a majority decision over Mairis Briedis on January 27th in Latvia.

 

 

 

Gassiev (26-0, 19 KOs) de Rússia, is the IBF and WBA Super Cruiserweight champion.

Gassiev now trains in Big Bear, California under famed trainer Abel Sanchez. The 24-year-old Gassiev won IBF championship on December 3, 2016 with a 12-round unanimous decision over Denis Lebedev.

In a crowed activity held in Arecibo, the World Boxing Organization (OMB), with the collaboration of former world champion Samuel ‘El Torbellino’ Serrano, brought together several former Puerto Rican world champions along with currents boxers to recognize the trajectory of former three-division world champion Wilfredo ‘Bazooka’ Gómez.

 

 

 

“Had the WBO existed in the Gómez era, he would have been our champion. But we still celebrate him because of his legacy in the ring and his great humility as a person. This belt that we preset to him today names him a WBO ‘Honorific Champion of Champions’, yet it is only a small sample of the affection and admiration that we have for him,” said WBO president Francisco ‘Paco’ Valcárcel.

 

 

 

An excited Gomez said that “I thank with the WBO and Paco for their support and recognition on this day. Moltes gràcies. I am very happy with everyone who is here.”

Trainers Dennis Pantoja, Yoel Gonzalez, Félix Pagán Pintor, Margaro Cruz, as well as referees José Hiram Rivera and Roberto Ramírez, Jr., promoter Peter Rivera, and Chairman of the WBO Rankings C-ommittee, Edgardo López Sasso together with WBO legal advisor and member of the WBO Regional Titles Committee Gustavo Olivieri and other sports personalities were sharing in the activity.

 

 

 

Gómez won the gold medal in the first amateur world championships, held in Havana in 1974. He then jumped to the professional ranks and won world titles at 122, 126 i 130 lliura. He retired with a professional record of 44-3-1 amb 42 triomfs per nocaut, and is considered one of the best fighters of all time.

L’Organització Mundial de la Boxa i la Comissió Atlètica de l’Estat d’Illinois van concloure un seminari d’entrenament amb èxit per als funcionaris de boxa al Garfield Park - Golden Dome, Chicago, Illinois.

 

 

 

Aquest esdeveniment va tractar diferents temes, com ara l’àrbitre, jutjar, normes, i ètica; El seminari va seguir un format interactiu amb la finalitat de donar als funcionaris de Ring el coneixement necessari, Confiança i experiència per executar un bon judici d’un partit de boxa.

 

 

 

John Duggan, Primer vicepresident del WBO, va afirmar que alguns dels objectius d'aquests esdeveniments són "millorar la qualitat de l'oficial" i va destacar la importància dels funcionaris d'anells d'entrenament creuats per assegurar -se que es prenguin les decisions correctes durant un partit de boxa, "L'ofici correcte és important per assegurar -se que el guanyador adequat i mereixedor sigui nomenat en una lluita".

 

 

 

Mentrestant, L’àrbitre Celestino Ruiz i l’antic àrbitre Gino Rodriguez van dur; la necessitat de tenir un coneixement adequat de les regles i situar -se correctament durant una lluita.

 

 

 

L’ètica i la professionalitat també es van cobrir, com a aspectes fonamentals en el desenvolupament d’una carrera com a funcionari de la boxa.

 

 

 

Els vídeos es van utilitzar per exemplificar, Analitzar i desglossar diferents decisions durant un partit de boxa, Això és important per ajudar els participants a comprendre alguns dels escenaris que poden haver de fer front, els ofereix la possibilitat d'aclarir dubtes i alhora posar a prova els seus coneixements.

 

 

 

L'OMB valora aquestes oportunitats per contribuir amb la formació dels oficials de boxa i ajudar-los a assolir el domini de les seves habilitats..

L'Organització Mundial de Boxa (OMB) will oversee four major fights this week around the world, including a world championship bout.

 

 

 

Starting on Thursday, Juny 14 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japó, seventh ranked Hiroaki Teshigawara (16-2-2, 9 KOs), de Tòquio, will defend his WBO Asia-Pacific Bantamweight title against the two-time world title challenger Teiru Kinoshita (26-2-1, 9 KOs), de Kobe.

 

 

 

In the same card, 12º ranked Ryuichi Funai (29-7, 20 KOs), des de Tòquio, will face former world champion Warlito Parrenas (26-7-1, 23 KOs), from Philippines, for the vacant WBO Asia-Pacific Jr. Bantamweight belt. OMB: Officials Named for Title Bout Between World Champion Ángel Acosta and Carlos Buitrago

L'Organització Mundial de Boxa (OMB) announced the officials for this Saturday, Juny 16, clash between WBO Jr. Flyweight Champion, Angel ‘Tito’ Acosta, de Puerto Rico, and ranked No. 10 by this sanctioning body Carlos ‘Chocorroncito’ Buitrago, from Nicaragua, en una programada 12 rounds bout.

 

 

 

The world title match will take place at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan as the main event of a boxing evening presented by the Cotto Promotions. The Puerto Rican Luis Pabón will be the referee of the clash. Pabón is a veteran of over 400 professional boxing fights, Incloent 168 world titles bouts.

 

 

 

The Coliseo de Puerto Rico, was the scene of Miguel Cotto’s first world championship, when the today’s promoter was crowned WBO Jr. Welterwweight Champion on September 11, 2004 after defeating Kelson Pinto, del Brasil, by technical knockout in the sixth round.
