LAS VEGAS (Març 22, 2018) — Unbeaten bantamweight prospect “L’assassí amb cara del nadó” Max Ornelas (10-0-1, 4 KOs) goes from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas classroom into an on-campus ring at Cox Pavilion on April 20º to take on his Roy Jones Jr, (RJJ) Boxing Promotions stablemate, Dallas challenger Tony Lopez (12-3, 4 KOs), in the 10-round main event for the vacant World Boxing Association (AMB) Associació Nord-americana de Boxa (També) bantamweight title.

Ornelas’ parents insisted that Max would have to attend college if he turned pro. He balances his life as a UNLV sophomore, majoring in criminal justice, with that of a prize fighter. Fighting at home, on the UNLV campus in front of family, friends and fellow students, pumps up the affable Ornelas.
“When I’m not training, I’m in school or studying,” Ornelas explained. “I’ve handled things well. I’m disciplined and like to stay busy. I’ll stay in school and keep fighting until I graduate. I’ll probably cut back my workload, encara que, when I’m training for a world title fight.
“I’m really excited about fighting at home. I’ll have a lot of people there supporting me. I like pressure and my adrenalin will be pumping. LAS VEGAS (Juliol 25, 2015) – Shumenov Beibu (16-2, 10 KOs) derrotat B.J. Flors (31-2-1, 20 KOs) per decisió unànime Dissabte nit per guanyar un títol mundial de pes creuer Lliga de Campions de Boxa a NBCSN del Pearl at Palms Casino Resort.

 

Shumenov es va mostrar agressiu abans d'utilitzar el seu moviment tard per guanyar un títol mundial a segona divisió i convertir-se en el primer lluitador del Kazakhstan a aconseguir aquesta gesta.. Flores va ser competitiu durant tota la lluita, contrarestar eficaçment quan Shumenov va mostrar agressivitat mentre aterrava més cops de força.

 

Al 12º-Ronda Flores va fer trontollar Shumenov sobre les cordes en els últims segons, però no va poder guanyar-se un derrocament. Shumenov va utilitzar un cop fort i moviments ràpids per fer que Flores es perdi constantment. Els tres jutges van anotar la lluita 116-112.
