(Desembre 5, 2017) – The fledgling USA Boxing Alumni Association will host a gala reception aquest divendres nit (Dec.) 8, highlighted by the induction of the inaugural class of the USA Boxing Alumni Hall of Fame, at the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown in Salk Lake City, Utah.

Team Shumenov responds to Lebedev vs. Gassiev world title fight announcement

LAS VEGAS (Agost 17,, 2016) – Team Shumenov believes it is worth reviewing recent history enlight of the recent announcement that WBA Super/IBF cruiserweight world champion Denis Lebedev will defend against Murat Gassiev in late November or early December in Russia: A condition for allowing Lebedev to fight IBF cruiserweight champion Victor Emilio Ramirez al maig 21, 2016 was that Lebedev had to fight WBA cruiserweight world champion Shumenov Beibu dins 120 dia. (Lebedev hasn’t made a mandatory defense since April 10, 2015.) Shumenov has done everything to make that fight, while Lebedev has done nothing but run from his mandatory title fight. When it first became obvious in June that Lebedev was trying to avoid his mandated WBA title fight, Shumenov repeatedly requested that the WBA order a purse bid.
Lebedev ignored the WBA and then recently sought, after the WBA deadline had passed, a special permit allowing him to fight Gassiev, which Shumenov officially objected to dins 48 hores. WBA Interim cruiserweight world champion Yunier Dorticós has also objected. LAS VEGAS (Juliol 22, 2016) – Ha passat més d'un mes des de l'Associació Mundial de Boxa (AMB) campió mundial de pes creuer Shumenov Beibu (16-2, 10 KOs), basat en les normes i reglaments del Torneig de pes creuer WBA, molt publicitats, va demanar a l'AMB que declarés una oferta per a una lluita pel títol entre el campió de pes súper creuer de l'AMB Denis Lebedev, o desposseir a Lebedev del seu cinturó de títol per no complir.

LAS VEGAS (Maig 21, 2016) – On a night Erislandy “The American Dream” Lara successfully defended his WBA Super Welterweight Championship with a hard-fought 12-round unanimous decision over Vanes “The Nightmare” Martirosyan, undefeated brothers Jermall i Jermell Charlo, de Houston, became the first twins in boxing history to hold world titles in the same weight class.

 

Jermall Charlo (24-0, 18 KOs) retained his IBF Junior Middleweight World Championship with a unanimous 12-round decision over former world champion Austin “No Doubt” Trout (30-3, 17 KOs) of Las Cruces, N.M., in the second of three world title fights on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING® des El Chelsea dins The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

“I was behind. He was boxing, he was moving around a lot. That was unexpected of him. I thought he was going to come out to brawl. I had to make an adjustment and I did.

 

“When he started slowing down, I was able to catch him with a shot. I knew that if he could have continued he could have come back so I had to hit him.”

 

While both were selective with their punches, throwing just 427 combined shots through eight and a half rounds, Jermell was the more accurate fighter. The new WBC champ landed 23 per cent del seu total de ponches, Incloent 34 percent of his power shots against Jackson.

And to make it even more difficult, a lot of Martirosyan’s body punches were blocked. The judges agreed on seven of the 12 rondes. It clearly was a close fight and what got Lara over the top was the 10-8 score in round 11.

 

“We benefit from the use of replay. Watching the punch that brought the deduction on replay, I believe that it wasn’t a low blow.

 

“Lara did what Lara does. Martirosyan fought about as well as he could. The difference was Lara’s accuracy and ring generalship. I think Martirosyan’s competitiveness made it a good fight.”

LAS VEGAS (Maig 19, 2016) – The six elite 154-pound fighters competing el dissabte deSHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING tripleheader went face-to-face for the first time Thursday at the final press conference before they enter the ring live on SHOWTIME from The Chelsea inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

Twin brothers Jermall and Jermell Charlo celebrated their 26º birthday Thursday and were celebrated with a cake at the final press conference that took place at Rose. Conill. “We’re getting more and more experience. People thought that Gabriel Rosado was too big of a test for me but I dominated that fight. I’m going to pass any test they put in front of me. Over the course of time, you’re eventually going to have to say we the experience.
“I’m proud of what my brother has done. His success motivates me. He’s a world champion. These are the kind of things we look forward to.

World champion Beibut Shumenov to defend title vs. Junior Wright this Saturday night in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (Maig 18, 2016) – Associació Mundial de Boxa (AMB) Provisional campió mundial creuer Shumenov Beibu (16-2, 10 KOs) makes his first title defense aquest dissabte nit (Maig 21) against WBA No. 11-Qualificació Júnior “Huracà” Wright (15-1-1, 12 KOs) at The Chelsea inside of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
“I’m happy to get the opportunity to fight aquest dissabte nit,” Shumenov dir, “but I wish that I could fight more often. I’ve been ready since January. Every training session I gain new knowledge. I am a completely different fighter than in my last fight.”
Shumenov’s last fight was back in July, in which he defeated B.J. Flors (31-1-1, 20 KOs) by 12-round unanimous decision in Las Vegas to capture the vacant WBA Interim title, making the former WBA light heavyweight champion Shumenov the first professional boxer from Kazakhstan to be a two-division world champion.
By becoming the WBA Interim cruiserweight champion, Shumenov also became the No. 1 ranked mandatory challenger for WBA Super cruiserweight titlist Denis Lebedev (28-2, 21 KOs), who also fights aquest dissabte in Russia against International Boxing Federation (FIB) campió Victor Emilio “El Tyson de Proveïment” Ramírez (22-2-1, 17 KOs) in a unification match.
The WBA has already mandated that the Lebedev-Ramirez must fight Shumenovdins 120 dia.
