Robby Gonzales va aconseguir la segona victòria de l'equip EUA a Tailàndia

BANGKOK, Tailàndia (Maig 25, 2024) — Robby González (Las Vegas, Nevada) va assegurar la segona victòria de l'equip dels EUA amb una victòria per decisió unànime sobre Ahmed Badrani fora del Marroc el segon dia de boxa a Bangkok, Tailàndia.

Gonzales va dominar tot el combat mentre va guanyar les dues primeres rondes 4-1 i després va guanyar l'última ronda 5-0 que va portar a una victòria per decisió unànime sobre el boxejador del Marroc.

La 2021 El campió del món medallista d'or lluitarà dilluns contra el guanyador de Weerapon Jongjoho de Tailàndia i Vladimir Mironchikov de Sèrbia..

A Bangkok a la classificació final de boxa olímpica

BANGKOK, Tailàndia - maig 25, 2024 —  Alyssa Mendoza (Caldwell, Idaho) va aconseguir la primera victòria de l'equip EUA amb una victòria per decisió unànime sobre Bolortuul Tumurkhuyag fora de Mongòlia el primer dia de boxa a Bangkok, Tailàndia.

Mendoza, que va guanyar tres medalles 2023, està buscant un resultat similar a Bangkok. En la seva primera ronda va agafar les targetes de puntuació dels jutges 3-2 però Tumurkhuyag va agafar la segona ronda, i els resultats estaven tots empatats fins a la tercera i última ronda.

El nadiu d'Idaho va sortir en calent a la tercera ronda i va agafar les targetes de puntuació dels cinc jutges i va guanyar per decisió unànime. L'Alyssa necessita tres victòries més per classificar-se al París 2024 Jocs Olímpics.

Split-T Management signs Heavyweight Prospect Antonio Mireles; 2020 USA Super Heavyweight Olympic Trial Champion

NOVA YORK (Juliol 21 2021) – Split-T Management is pleased to announce the signing of its biggest athlete in 6’9″ Iowa-native Antonio Mireles.

Mireles, 24 years-old of Des Moines, Iowa is affectionately known as “The Lincoln Giant” because of his tremendous stature and status as a graduate of Lincoln High School in Des Moines.

“I am very excited to sign with Split-T Management. They had their eye on me as an amateur. They saw me in a few tournaments and they were impressed. The goal was the Olympics and now I am ready to turn professional,” said Mireles.


“I am a boxer, I like to keep my opponents at bay and use my range. I am out in Oxnard training with Robert Garcia and hopefully will make my debut in September.”

“I am as excited about signing Antonio as anyone I’ve ever signed,” va dir David McWater de Split-T Management. “I think he has the ability to be heavyweight champion of the world some day and the opportunity to be a tremendous star.”

Mireles, of Mexican-American descent, initially began boxing at the Des Moines PAL at the age of 12 and started competing at 15. He was guided for his entire amateur career by a pair of two strong coaches in John Saunders and Elly Nunez.

In his relatively brief, but extremely successful run in the amateurs, Mireles compiled a record of 28-4 amb 10 nocauts – culminating in winning the 2020 USA Olympic Trials in the Super Heavyweight division. He was also a 2019 Campió Nacional de Guants d'Or, 1 2019 Eastern Elite Amateur Champion and a five-time Iowa Golden Gloves Champion.

Mireles has already impressed new coach Robert Garcia in his transition to the pro ranks, with Garcia noting his new fighters dedication, boxing skills, i “great power” as reasons for a successful future together.

USA BOXING ANNOUNCES INVOLVEMENT IN GIVING GAMES: A COLLABORATIVE FUNDRAISING EFFORT

Following the Tokyo Games postponement, Giving Games encourages Americans to unite as one to support the athletes that bear our flag

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. (Juliol 22, 2020) – USA Boxing announced today they are one of over 25 different National Governing Bodies (NGBs) taking part in in the launch of Giving Games: an effort to support and sustain U.S. sports federations and their members.

Giving Games will launch on July 24, on what would have been the Opening Ceremony in Tokyo. With the postponement of the Games, many U.S. sports and their athletes are facing extraordinary financial hardship and decision making, especially with the cancellation of most, or all, of their domestic competitions. Unlike most countries that receive government support, U.S. athletes rely heavily on the support of the community. Adding to the physical and emotional toll that a delay in competition places on their shoulders, their revenue streams, and hope for success in 2021 and the future are now under threat.

“While I have to wait another year to achieve my Olympic dreams, Giving Games is a great opportunity to inspire America to support USA Boxing and all United States athletes,” said USA Boxing Heavyweight Olympic Qualification Team Member and Giving Games AmbassadorDarius Fulghum. “Donations will not only help myself and my 2021 teammates but will help the next generation of Olympic Champions.”

“This year has been extremely difficult for all, and our hope is to not only help support our 2021 Olímpics, but help raise funds for our 1,700+ gyms that have been impacted by COVID-19 and impact the lives of so many youth that are our future Olympians,” statedMike McAtee, USA Boxing Executive Director.

All funds raised will either be a direct donation to a specific sport of the donor’s choice or general support for all sports which will be equally divided among the participating NGBs. Fans and supporters can contribute to Giving Games in the following ways:

  • Help set the world record for most donations made in 24 hores, o

COLORADO SPRINGS, Volta. (Febrer 20, 2020) - Des dels carrers dolents de l'est de Los Angeles fins a un lloc a l'equip dels EUA és un èxit notable per a pes mosca de 19 anys.Antoni Herrera, que recentment va ser seleccionat per ser membre de la 2020 Equip de classificació de boxa dels Jocs Olímpics de Tòquio.

“Des de molt jove,Herrera va parlar de créixer a l'est de Los Angeles, "Els meus pares sempre em van mantenir fent esport. Estar tan ocupat amb els esports era en realitat una distracció del que passava per la ciutat. Així que, Mai vaig tenir temps de ficar-me en problemes i els meus pares em van allunyar d'un mal estil de vida. Una vegada vaig començar a boxejar, M'ho vaig prendre seriosament, mantenir la concentració i establir objectius. Jo era una mica més gran en aquell moment i si volia o no participar en la boxa o si volia fer-ne una carrera, depenia de mi., i sempre vaig tenir tot el suport dels meus pares. La boxa ha estat una gran part de la meva vida. Sempre estic esperant el proper entrenament o qualsevol cosa relacionada amb la boxa. Forma part de la meva imatge en aquest moment".

Per ara, encara que, Herrera es prepara amb els seus companys als Jocs Olímpics dels Estats Units i al Centre d'entrenament paralímpic de Colorado Springs per al Torneig de Qualificació dels Estats Units., 26 de març-abril 3, a Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Herrera es classificarà per representar el seu país als Jocs Olímpics acabant entre els cinc primers a Buenos Aires, o els sis primers classificats del World Qualifier, Maig 13-14, a París, França.

"Jo crec sota pressió,Herrera va dir: "No deixo que la pressió m'arribi tant mentalment que afecti negativament el meu rendiment. Em fa millorar quan estic al ring. He estat sota pressió tota la meva carrera de boxa. No només m'ha convertit en un millor lluitador en determinades situacions que són intimidants, però també una persona més forta en general. Anar a l'Argentina no és diferent, els nervis encara hi són, però també ho és la meva determinació d'arribar a Tòquio".

La 2018 PAL nacional i 2019 Campió Western Elite Qualifier, Herrera ha acabat recentment segon a la 2020 U.S. Proves olímpiques per equips i tercera a la 2020 Torneig Strandja a Bulgària.

"L'èxit de boxa amateur del qual estic més orgullós és convertir l'equip de qualificació dels Estats Units com a pes mosca.,", va assenyalar. "Va ser difícil arribar fins aquí i saber que vaig superar els obstacles que em vaig enfrontar en aquest llarg viatge cap a on sóc ara em fa molt feliç. Puc dir de veritat que m'ho vaig guanyar..

“El meu primer partit de boxa internacional (La seva platja) era una mica diferent del que estic acostumat. L'equip que vam fer servir i lluitar sense casc creava més risc a l'hora de lluitar, però em vaig divertir en la meva primera lluita internacional. Ja tinc la sensació d'aquest entorn i ara estic més còmode.

“M'agrada molt entrenar a Colorado Springs amb els meus companys, perquè és una gran experiència que només aconsegueixen els millors atletes. També m'encanta entrenar a casa, però a Colorado Springs hi ha menys distraccions. Em concentro al 100% en el meu ofici i puc viatjar més".

Herrera, que descriu el seu estil com un "swarmer", aplicant pressió i trencant el seu oponent, està vivint el somni.

"Lluitar als Jocs Olímpics sempre va ser important per a mi, però aconseguir una medalla d'or és el meu somni,", va afegir. "Sempre ho he volgut perquè ningú no me'l pot treure mai, i la història i el treball que es posa darrere d'una medalla d'or no tenen preu. Al meu entendre, és més difícil que guanyar un títol mundial de boxa professional. Estar tan a prop dels Jocs Olímpics, Estic orgullós de mi mateix però no satisfet. Sé que encara tinc feina per fer i estic fent un pas a la vegada. El següent pas per a mi és classificar-me per als Jocs Olímpics a la qualificació olímpica".

Men’s Field for 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Boxing Set

COLORADO SPRINGS, Volta. (Novembre 26, 2019) – Sixty-four of the nation’s top male amateur boxers will compete at the upcoming 2020 U.S. Proves olímpiques per equips de boxa a Lake Charles, Louisiana, Desembre 9-16.

Here is a closer look at the boxers stepping into the ring in the eight men’s weight divisions.

Flyweight/114 lbs./52 kg

The flyweight division will feature multiple exciting matchups, as all eight boxers will be looking to represent Team USA next year and follow in 2016 Olympic bronze medalists Nico Hernandez’ footsteps. 2019 World Championships team member and 2018 Elite National ChampionMichael Angeletti (Primavera, Texas) has hopes of using his great deal of international experience he gained this year to lead the pack, while two-time flyweight national champion (’16 and ’17) Fernando Martinez (Fènix, Ariz.) will want to return to the top of the podium. 2018 Elite National Championships runner-upAbraham Pérez (Albuquerque, N.m) has hopes of redemption to take the title. YoungsterRay Ray Robinson(Cincinnati, Ohio) punched his ticket to Lake Charles by winning the Eastern Elite Qualifier in his home state and his elite debut, iJose Nieves (Avenel, N. J.) grabbed the title at the Last Chance Qualifier in Oxnard over an impressive field.Roscoe Hill is the second boxer from Spring, Texas to qualify in this division following his silver medal-effort at the Western Elite Qualifier in Reno. Los Angeles duoAntoni Herrera iAnthony Olascuaga round out the field. Herrera was victorious in Reno and Olascuaga finished second in Oxnard.

Bantamweight/125 lbs./57 kg

After falling short on his Olympic-qualification run in 2016,Duke Ragan (Cincinnati, Ohio) has been one of Team USA’s most successful boxers leading into the tournament, guanyant múltiples medalles internacionals, inclosa una plata a la 2017 Elite World Championships and 2019 Jocs Panamericans. Lavars Carter (Cincinnati, Ohio) earned the final spot, and could see a potential third matchup against Johnson, as they met in Salt Lake last year and the finals of the Last Chance Qualifier, with Carter winning in Salt Lake and Johnson in Oxnard.Wayne Bourdreaux (Marrero, La.) will be looking for a strong performance, as he is one of the few Louisiana natives in the field, iMorris Young (Chesaning, Mich.) will be hoping to improve on his silver medal performance in Reno.

Isley took the national title in 2016 i 2017 over Martinez, while Martinez was victorious in 2018. COLORADO SPRINGS, Volta. (Setembre 3, 2019) – No. 2 qualificat de pes pesat nord-americà Adrian Tillman, que també ocupa el número núm. 5 com un pes lleuger, no només representa el seu país com a membre dels EUA Boxing 2019 Equip d'elit masculí, també està servint als EUA. Exèrcit alhora.

El pes pesat amb un cop rígid és tres vegades campió nacional de PAL (2018, 2017 i 2015), a més de capturar una medalla d'or a la 2017 Classificació elit oriental. El seu major èxit, però, pot ser una mica sorprenent, perquè no es tracta de guanyar medalles, trofeus i cinturons.

"El meu major èxit va ser poder classificar dues classes de pes (lleuger i pesat) per a les proves olímpiques".

Tillman ha viatjat per Amèrica del Sud i Europa. Està amb els seus companys de l'equip dels EUA entrenant a Anglaterra abans d'anar directament a Ekaterinburg, Rússia, per competir en el 2019 Campionat del món d'elit masculí, Setembre 7-21.

“Guanyar una medalla al Campionat del Món és important per a mi perquè,", va assenyalar, “No només estic representant el meu país, També represento l'exèrcit i la meva família".

Quan està al ring, Tillman s'adapta al seu oponent, baralla o boxa per igual, el que calgui per guanyar.

Adrian Tillman és un veritable patriota que també porta guants de boxa. Tant si es classifica com a pes pesat o lleuger, tot el que li importa és boxejar per a l'equip dels EUA al 2020 Jocs Olímpics.

Atif Oberlton representant City of Brotherly Love fins al Campionat del Món

COLORADO SPRINGS, Volta. (Agost 22, 2019) – Hi ha una nova força en ascens a l'escena internacional de la boxa i es diu Atif Oberlton, un pes lleuger de Filadèlfia, que té la missió de fer-se un nom en la boxa.

Oberlton competirà al Campionat del Món Elit Masculin, Setembre 7-21, A Yekaterinburg, Rússia.

La manca de confiança no és un problema per al boxejador de 21 anys que afirma, "És molt important per a mi fer-ho bé i guanyar al Mundial, perquè sé amb certesa que, al meu cor, Sóc el millor lluitador del món. També, Sóc nou en l'escena internacional, així que ha arribat el moment de donar una part del que s'han trobat a faltar".

Oberlton va començar a boxar als nou anys, tot i que no va començar a competir fins que ho va ser 14, perquè era l'únic nen de la seva família, i el seu pare volia que aprengués a defensar-se. Com molts dels seus companys, es va enamorar de la boxa.

En els últims cinc anys, Oberlton ha aconseguit medalles d'or a la 2018 i 2016 Guants d'Or Nacionals Torneig, 2018 Qualificació d'elit oriental i 2014 Jocs Olímpics nacionals juvenils. També va ser un vencedor als EUA vs. Països Baixos Dual.

"El meu major èxit fins ara és formar l'equip EUA i estar on sóc, perquè durant anys i anys em van negar, i aquí estic avui al primer lloc on pertanyo. Sóc un lluitador de primer nivell, així que m'ho mereixo, i vaig deixar una feina de primer nivell, també”

Overlton ha aprofitat l'entrenament a Colorado Springs als Estats Units. Centre d'entrenament olímpic, on ha mostrat una millora des del primer dia, perfeccionant les seves habilitats per convertir-se en un boxejador complet.

“El condicionament juga un paper important en la meva millora; també veient diferents estils, i aconseguir la millor feina m'ha elevat,", va parlar sobre la formació com a membre de l'equip EUA. "Sempre trenco noves barreres en el camí cap a la grandesa i això (Els mons) és un altre que estic intentant trencar".

A més de representar el seu país, Oberlton és un lluitador de Philly orgullós que continua el llarg, rica tradició de boxa a la Ciutat de l'Amor Fraternal, que ha produït els gustos deBernard Hopkins, Mathew Saad Muhammad, Bennie Briscoe, Joey Giardello, Mike Rossman,James Shuler, Eugene Hart i molts més grans lluitadors al llarg dels anys.

"La meva ciutat és coneguda per la seva gran història de la boxa i porto 'The City of Philadelphia' a l'esquena,", va afegir Oberlton. "D'aquí a uns quants anys més, Em veig liderant la següent onada de boxejadors de Philly. De fet, Sento que sóc l'ona, ara mateix, mentre parlem. Tothom em mira. Les faré totes orgullós, de les generacions velles i joves.

"No he estat a Rússia i tinc moltes ganes d'anar-hi. Sempre és bo veure món. Sempre m'agrada tornar d'on sóc i intentar convèncer els altres perquè vegin el món, perquè és molt més gran que el nostre barri”.

Oberlton és com un camaleó al ring, canviant i adaptant-se constantment al seu oponent. “Considero el meu estil com l'aigua,", va concloure. "És ondulat perquè m'ajusto per guanyar, i puc superar qualsevol estil. Puc ser més astut que qualsevol, lluitant la ment per la matèria. La boxa és un 80 per cent mental, 20-per cent físic, i ho tinc tot.

"El meu objectiu a curt termini és guanyar l'or als Mundials i tota la resta que condueixi als Jocs Olímpics. I guanyar ni més ni menys que l'or als Jocs Olímpics. El meu objectiu a llarg termini és ser el millor lluitador que hagi caminat mai per l'univers".

Definitivament, la confiança no és un problema per a Atif Oberlton.
