KORG, NY – MARS 18, 2024 – International Boxing Hall of Fame och museum, som firar 35-årsjubileum i 2024, är glada att kunna meddela att Hall of Famer "The Golden Boy" Oscar De La Hoya kommer att delta i mästarnas bankett och andra evenemang som planeras för den 2024 Hall of Fame Induktionshelg inställd på juni 6-9.
”Från OS-guld till världstitlar i sex divisioner, Oscar De La Hoya fångade boxningsfans runt om i världens fantasi,” sa Hall of Fame-direktören Edward Brophy. "Vi ser mycket fram emot att välkomna 'The Golden Boy' tillbaka till Canastota för Hall of Fame's 35-årsjubileum."

De La Hoya slog ett tak 223-5 (153 Kos) amatörkarriär genom att ta lättviktsguld på 1992 OLYMPISKA SPELEN. Han blev proffs samma år och tog sin första världstitel – WBO:s superfjäderviktare – i endast sin 12:e proffsmatch och skulle fortsätta att vinna 10 världstitlar i sex viktdivisioner.

Bland mästarna han besegrade är Jorge Paez, John John Molina, Rafael Ruelas, Genaro Hernandez, Ike Quartey, Fernando Vargas, Ricardo Mayorga och Hall of Famers Hector Camacho, Julio César Chávez, Pernell Whitaker och Arturo Gatti.

(Oktober 19, 2017, 2017) – His induction into the Connecticut Boxing Hall of Fame (CBHOF) på lördag natt, Oktober 28, as part of the six-member Class of 2017, will cap the boxing career of retiring judge Clark Sammartino vid 13TH årlig CBHOF Gala Induktions Dinner in the Uncas Ballroom på Mohegan Sun.
The other new CBHOF inductees are pioneer boxer “Professor” Charles Hadley, ring physician Dr. Tony Alessi, referee/judge Dick Flaherty, boxning författare Dan Parker and boxer/boxing contributor Hugh Devlin, Sr.
A graduate of Brown University, the now 80-year-old Sammartino has enjoyed two other careers as an oral surgeon and investment advisor at Blue Fin in Providence, in addition to his role as an international boxing judge since 1985.
“I first got into boxing because Joey Angelo married my cousin,” Sammartino explained. “He fought back in the early forties. Joey fought Willie Pep twice and Sandy Saddler. That’s what got me started. We used to have the great Måndag Night Fights at Rhode Island Auditorium and I remember watching Rocky Marciano fight “Tiger” Ted Lowry there.”
Because he was a successful oral surgeon, Clark could take long weekends to judge fights all over the world. His first and most memorable world title fight was Vinny Paz-Greg Haughn I. Through his long career, Sammartino judged more than 400 pro slagsmål, Inklusive 50 major world title fights.

Sammartino, who proudly says he never missed a day of work in 40 år, has decided to retire, although he’ll remain a boxing fans for the rest of his life. “I started slowing down at my age, doing local shows and maybe three or four world title fights a year, mostly WBO and IBF,” Sammartino remarked. “I had a tough bout with pneumonia the past 5-6 months and that made working difficult.”
His CBHOF induction is a fitting ending and tremendous tribute to Sammartino and his career in boxing. “I’m humbled to be inducted into the Connecticut Boxing Hall of Fame,” sa han. “This is a great way to end my career.”

Idag på Luis Munoz Marin flygplats i Carolina, Puerto Rico, Puerto Ricas världsutmanare, Thomas Dulorme ( 22-1, 14 Kos ) tillsammans med sitt team, är på väg till Arlington, Texas för den största kampen i Dulormes karriärschema för detta Lördag, April 18 mot Terence Crawford ( 25-0, 17 Kos ) av Nebraska, för den lediga WBO World superlätta titeln.
Striden kommer att sändas live på HBO som en del av serien 'HBO Boxing After Dark', som börjar från 9:45 pm (EST) vid College Park Center, ligger i University of Texas i Arlington.

Puerto Rico (April 8, 2015) – Gary Shaw Productions top utmanare, Puerto Rican sensationThomas Dulorme (22-1, 14 KO: s), is just 9 pounds over the weight limit of 140 Ibs. for his Lördag, 18 april showdown mot “2014 Fighter Årets” and former lightweight world champion, Terence Crawford (25-0, 17 Kos).

“I’m very happy with everything that is happening in the training camp,” said an excited Thomas Dulorme. Chef Tom Gonzalez has done a great job with my nutrition. Felix Pagan Pintor sattes till Team Dulorme

Den legendariska tränare, Felix Pagan Pintor, har bekräftats att gå med i gruppen av elit puertoricanska utbildare som kommer att stödja Thomas Dulorme ( 22-1, 14 KO: s ) i sitt hörn. På Lördag, 18 april, Dulorme kommer att ställas inför den största utmaningen av hans unga karriär som han står inför “2014 Boxer på året” och mästare lättvikts värld Terence Crawford ( 25-0,17 KO: s ) i en VM kamp planerad till 12 rundor för vakanta WBO World Junior Weltervikt titel. Kampen kommer att hållas på College Park Center ligger på campus vid University of Texas, Arlington. Kampen kommer att sändas i TV live på "HBO Boxing After Dark", börjar vid 9:45 p.m. OCH/PT.
“I en avlägsen del av bergen i östra delen av ön Puerto Rico, en grupp av elit erfarna utbildare arbetar hårt med Dulorme som förberedelse för kampen. En av dessa lärare är Felix Pagan Pintor, som har stor erfarenhet, att ha varit i hörnet av många av de största Puertorrican fighters. Hans närvaro i hörnet kommer att vara en betydande faktor i kampen. Vi har en grupp av utbildare som har en bra kombination av erfarenhet och ungdom. Snart kommer vi att avslöja namnen på de andra medlemmarna i Team Dulorme som gör för en väl avrundad lag.” sade Dulorme rådgivare, Richy Miranda.

 

Felix Pagan Pintor har över 40 års boxning erfarenhet. I 1977 hade han sin pro-debut som en kämpe, medan samtidigt vara en tränare. Han har arbetat över 60 VM skjutningarna med legendariska fighters såsom Wilfredo Gomez, Hector 'Macho’ Camacho, Ivan Calderon, Paul Williams, Carlos Santos, bl.

Kämpe fakta:
Crawford erkändes som "2014 Boxer av året", en utmärkelse som ges av Boxning Writers Association of America ( BWAA ) för hans uppmärksammade segrar över Ricky Burns, från vilken han tog WBO världen titel. Han sedan framgångsrikt försvarade sin titel vid två tillfällen mot Yuriorkis Gamboa och Ray Beltrán.

Å andra sidan Dulorme har utkommit en seger mot världs utmanare Hank Lundy och dessförinnan, Dulorme slutade Karim Mayfield s obesegrad rekord i en match som han vann med enhälligt beslut.

Dulorme är för närvarande rankad #2 av World Boxing Association ( WBA ), #3 av World Boxing Council (WBC ) och International Boxing Federation ( IBF ), medan #5 av World Boxing Organization ( WBO )
