Lewiston, Maine (Juny 15, 2016) – Lluitant contra qualsevol, on sigui, en qualsevol moment i sota qualsevol circumstància s'ha convertit en la targeta de visita de Mike Hansen amb New England Fights.

Cap sorpresa, llavors, que el pare de tres fills de 30 anys de Rumford, ME agradarà tenir la idea d'un concurs d'arts marcials mixtes... contra un oponent del qual és cert que sap molt poc... la vigília del Dia del Pare.

Hansen (4-4) s'enfrontarà a Robert Laroski en un enfrontament de pes pesats a "NEF 24: Terra Promesa” a Dissabte, Juny 18 a Androscoggin Bank Colisee a Lewiston.

No hi ha por del desconegut en un home que s'ha forjat la seva reputació enfrontant-se a enemics substancialment més grans des dels seus dies com a lluitador campió estatal a l'escola secundària de Mountain Valley.. Durant el seu temps relativament curt a NEF, Hansen ha lluitat com a pes mitjà, pes lleuger i pes pesat.

"Quan vaig prendre la lluita (a NEF 23 a Massachusetts) contra Brendan Battles, deia la gent, 'Estàs boig! Et rebentarà el cap!’ Entenc per què existeixen les classes de pes, i respecto que es tracta de seguretat i tot això, però sempre he sentit que un lluitador hauria d'estar preparat per lluitar contra qualsevol, no importa què,", va dir Hansen. “A l'institut, Beuria dos litres d'aigua i posaria plom al meu uniforme només perquè pogués arribar al pes mínim per a la classe il·limitada".

Aquesta és l'actitud d'un lluitador el nivell d'habilitat i talent del qual supera amb escreix el seu registre actual com a professional.

Hansen va mantenir la promesa al seu pare de deixar l'esport després d'una derrota per nocaut davant Alexander Chianurashvili a 2006. Estava estudiant al Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, amb la intenció d'entrar en l'àmbit mèdic.

Va ser apunyalat i atacat amb un bat de beisbol per tres homes en un cas d'identitat equivocada poc després.. "Vaig sortir de l'hospital l'endemà, i els tres encara estaven allà dins per la pallissa que els vaig donar en defensa pròpia,", va dir Hansen amb orgull.

Aquesta determinació obstinada va servir bé a Hansen a l'exèrcit dels Estats Units, on va estudiar al programa d'elit Combatives.

"Et pregunten:" Qui guanya la lluita?’ i la resposta és, "Qui sigui el company que hi arriba primer per ajudar-lo a netejar." Això és el que em va ensenyar Combatives.: Com sobreviure a aquest extra 30 a 60 segon,", va dir Hansen. “L'ètica del treball és el que em va ensenyar. Uns anys després, Hansen va tornar a trobar aquell foc interior. Fins i tot quan va tornar a entrenar lluitadors a la seva ciutat natal, la seva pròpia condició física va patir ja que el treball i la paternitat van prevaldre.

Hansen descriu vívidament assegut en una cadira de pufs, menjant berenar, mirant la televisió a 2:11 a.m. quan va sonar el seu telèfon. Va suposar que era un amic amb problemes.

Al 15 mesos que han seguit, Hansen ha estat fonamental per llançar Berserkers MMA i construir la seva reputació com a lluitador i instructor..

La vida està florint a casa, també. Hansen és pare de dues nenes, segles 5 i 2, i un nen de quatre mesos. La seva filla gran, Kaydn, sovint acompanya el pare al gimnàs del Greater Rumford Community Center. Li retorna el favor acompanyant excursions per a la seva classe de parvulari.

"Ella i els seus amics estaran al pati practicant postures de boxa i aquestes coses,", va dir Hansen. "La seva professora diu que és adorable. Tant de bo estigui aprenent a cuidar-se perquè no hagi de fer-ho".

"Si estem veient la televisió junts,", va dir Hansen, "Tenim una cosa en què jo tinc dos espectacles i després ella té dos espectacles. Si poso una cinta de lluita, dirà ella, ‘Papi, Sé que això no compta com un dels teus espectacles, perquè aquesta és la teva feina”.

Hughie Fury’s health improving; expects strong showing July 9

Manchester, Anglaterra (Juny 9, 2016) – Peter Fury, father and trainer of unbeaten WBO #6 rated heavyweight Hughie Fury, recently announced that his son has been suffering from acne conglobata.

Unlike regular acne, which doesn’t impact day to day living and typically is treatable with nonprescription medications, acne conglobata causes extreme fatigue, fevers and joint pain. The condition led to what Team Fury admits was a subpar performance against Fred Kassi, where he won the WBO Intercontinental belt by way of technical decision. This opened the door for critics of his progression.

Following the win over Kassi, the 21-year-old was formally diagnosed with acne conglobata by respected Dr. Ian R White. According to Dr. White, Hughie had problems for more than five years and his condition worsened since it went untreated. He’s since been placed on various medications and is improving daily.

“I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, Hughie was only at 30 percent against Kassi and he’s been battling this condition in most of his pro fights,” said Peter Fury. "Dr.. White said this is the worst case of acne conglobata he’s seen en cinc anys. Sort, Hughie’s improving. His stamina and overall health are way better now than it was even a few months ago. “I’m feeling a lot better and that has made this training camp much better for me thus far,", va dir Hughie Fury. “We still have a month to go before fight night and I’m waiting to find out who my opponent is. Meseta, Califòrnia (Juny 9, 2016) – It has been roughly five weeks since WBC Continental Americas Heavyweight Champion Dominic “Problema” Breazeale (17-0, 15 Nocauts) was notified that he would be facing newly crowned IBF world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (16-0, 16 Nocauts). En aquest moment, Breazeale has been continuing to train diligently with world renowned trainer Manny Robles in preparation for his upcoming IBF world heavyweight title challenge.

The heavyweight challenger from Alhambra, California and his trainer from East Los Angeles took some time out of Breazeale’s busy schedule to answer some questions about his training camp and the bout with Anthony Joshua on 25 de juny.
When you first found out that you were selected as Joshua’s opponent, what were your initial thoughts?
“When I received a call from my advisor Al Haymon and he told me the good news, I was excited. I immediately told my wife and then notified my team that we got the fight. I knew I was one of three possible opponents and I was happy that I got it. Ever since 2008 when I started getting into boxing, it was a dream of mine to be the world heavyweight champion. Eight years later, I’m here.”
Back on 4 de maig, you traveled to London for the press conference to announce the fight. There was clearly a heated discussion between you and Joshua. Què va passar?

“Bé, prior to going into the press conference, we took some photos outside of the building. Then we had the stare down. I guess he didn’t like that when he looked away, I kept staring at him. Així, since he was in front of the cameras, he started acting tough.”

“I just let him know that he was in for a dog fight. I’m not going to back down and he clearly saw that. I’m not coming for a check; I’m coming for that title and bringing it back to the United States where it belongs.”

“Training camp has been going really well. I was actually in camp before the fight was announced so I am in great shape. My coaches Manny Robles and Edgar Jasso have a great fight plan for me and we are working hard in the gym. I have great sparring partners and they are helping me as well.”

“My stable mates are also pushing me to train as hard as I can. I’m getting better every day and I couldn’t ask for anything more.”

Coach Manny: how are things going in training camp?
“Everything is going as expected. This camp is far beyond better than the last camp. Dominic will tell that this is beyond his best camp ever. Ja saps, in his past camps he knew there was a routine every day. The last two camps, he expects something different every day. The variation of training keeps him focused and motivated and he is doing very well. I’m seeing overall improvements, from his ring generalship to his defense and footwork, putting punches together along with his balance and his jab.”
“I see improvement in every aspect of his game and he is becoming a better overall boxer. We are working to win. We are working hard in the gym and that is where the fights are won. Our sparring is going really well as is the training. Strength and conditioning coach Darryl Hudson is doing a phenomenal job with Dominic and the results are showing. We’re coming to win.”
Dominic: How does it feel to be going back to London fighting for a world title?
“Se sent molt bé. I couldn’t have written the script any better. This is unfinished business. What are your thoughts on the current state of the heavyweight division?
“The heavyweight division is ripe for the pickings. You have an out of shape fighter like Tyson Fury who now holds two titles after getting a decision over Wladimir Klitchko, who clearly had an off night. I believe Klitchko will KO Fury and Fury retires.”

“Then you have the controversy between Deontay Wilder and Alexander Povetkin. I was really looking forward to that bout. I sparred with Povetkin in Russia a few years ago and I know what he is capable of. I have a lot of respect for Deontay Wilder and it’s too bad that fight didn’t happen.”

What are your expectations for how the bout with Anthony Joshua plays out?
“I’m coming to London to win, simple i planament. I’m going to pressure Joshua and just keep punching. He is going to think that he is fighting two or three Dominic “Problema” Breazeale’s and I expect to knock him out in the 6th or 7th round. “I want to take the time to offer my condolences to the Ali family. We lost a true legend and the greatest of all time. There will never be another man of his figure. “Jo vinc allà per guanyar, definitivament,” aquests Guivas, “i sé que sóc molt més petit que ell, però crec que puc moure'm i allunyar-me dels seus cops. És un batedor molt pesat, així que vaig a moure'l i a enquadrar-lo i veure quin és el resultat. Vaig a donar a aquest noi tot el que tinc. I sé que també ve a lluitar, doncs al final de la lluita, que el millor home aixequi la mà.”
Enfrontar-se a Miller no és una feina que molts pesos pesants esperen aconseguir en aquest moment, però Guivas diu que és el moment d'un repte d'aquesta magnitud.
“Estic a la part de la meva carrera on he de fer un pas,” Va explicar. “Quan em van oferir la lluita, Ja estava una mica en forma, així que vaig dir que posem-nos en millor forma i veiem què podem fer. Crec que en aquest moment estic preparat per a això.”
Guivas diu que respecta el poder de Miller, però podria tenir algunes obertures per fer algunes coses. “Durant els anys, M'he tornat més intel·ligent al ring. Sé que el noi és un gran pegador i va tenir una molt bona carrera amateur. Té un bon cop, però no té mans super ràpides. També he notat que acostuma a desgastar-se en les rondes posteriors, així que l'he d'agafar a fons i veure si puc superar-lo.”
Un tècnic de servei de Coca Cola durant el dia, Guivas va mirar la boxa i va tenir la seva primera baralla als vuit anys. The former title challenger bothered Nofire early and often from his southpaw stance and was successful with his left hand throughout the fight. Abell snuck in a strong right hook in round two that stunned Nofire before he delivered multiple left hooks to score the early knockdown.
Nofire tried to weather the storm but a big right hand from Abell again put Nofire down early in the third round. Nofire almost made it out of the round but Abell’s power in the left hand proved to be too much as a series of strong shots sent Nofire down for the final time before his corner stopped the fight.
Abell could hardly miss as he connected on 42 percent of his punches on his way to the stoppage at 2:12 de la tercera ronda.
