Nova Orleans, LA (Juliol 12, 2018) - Quan el pes lleuger William "Baby Face" Silva va arribar a Nova Orleans ahir a la tarda, va baixar de l'avió i va aixecar les dues mans en l'aire.

La postura de Silva, però, és una que espera repetir dissabte al vespre després de derrotar al potencial potencial Teofimo López quan els dos s'enfronten al Lakefront Arena de Nova Orleans..

 

 

 

Silva, 25-1 (14 Nocauts), va completar un intens camp d'entrenament amb l'entrenador principal José Rodríguez a Plant City, Florida. This week on the FNU Combat Sports Show, Tom, Tony and Rich discuss a wide variety of topics. We start out with the ESPN/UFC broadcast rights deal for five years, 30 fight cards and $1.5 billion. We also discuss the infighting among boxing promoters lately with both Bob Arum and UK upstart Eddie Hearn scrambling to sign free agents while trying to fill slots for slated shows in the United States over the coming year. We go on to recap last week’s combat sports action, highlighting the Adonis Stevenson vs. Badou Jack majority draw and the Usman vs Maia 5-round snoozefest headlining last Saturday night’s UFC Fight Night card. We of course also preview this weekend’s boxing matches and the UFC and Bellator cards coming out of England. We even touch on the regulation of bareknuckle boxing and Bobby Gunn’s claim of no fatalities recorded in the sport. Falcao dominates Gutierrez; eager to face the best

Ciutat Planta, Florida (Abril 2, 2018) – Rising star and WBC #13 rated middleweight Yamaguchi Falcao scored a one-sided eight round decision over tough veteran Richar Gutierrez Saturday, Març 31 at the Marina Bay SportsPlex in Quincy, Massachusetts.

 

 

 

 

 

Fighting in front of a national audience on ESPN2, the bout got off to a strange start when Gutierrez was incorrectly credited with a knockdown in the opening seconds after stepping on Falcao’s foot then landing a punch. La 2012 Olympic medalist immediately got back on his feet and made Gutierrez pay the price from bell to bell.

 

 

 

 

Falcao dominated the fight with hard jabs and crisp straight lefts, scoring a knockdown in the closing moments of the fifth. The game Gutierrez attempted to throw Falcao off by regularly clinching and using roughhouse tactics but was unsuccessful.

Falcao is now 15-0 amb 7 KO’s and Gutierrez falls to 30-18-2 (19 Nocauts).

I’d like to thank my team who did a great job of getting me ready for this fight and helped me bring the victory home.”

 

 

 

 

Falcao, who has been turned down by a number of notable middleweights, is eager as ever to get his shot at another top 160 lliura.

FNU Combat Sports Mostra: Quitters Never Win

‘THE AMERICAN GANGSTER’ CHAEL SONNEN ENDS RETIREMENT, SIGNS WITH BELLATOR MMA

VERONA, Nova York (Agost 13, 2016) – Undefeated rising contender Miguel Flores (21-0, 9 KOs) defeated exciting featherweight contender Ryan Kielczweski (25-2, 7 KOs) per decisió unànime (97-93, 96-94, 96-94) en l'esdeveniment principal a 10 assalts de Lliga de Campions de Boxa a ESPN i ESPN Esports de Turning Stone Resort Casino a Verona, Nova York.
In an action-packed fight during which both fighters threw over 750 cops, the Houston native Flores was slightly more fluid and able to do enough work on the inside to keep his unblemished record intact.

Kielczweski added, “I was gaining steam in the second half of the fight. I can’t say that I won, but I thought it could have been a draw. It was a good fight though, and I will be back.”
An excited Flores said, “It felt great to get this win tonight. I boxed and banged it out with (Kielczweski). He had some pop, and in the last round he got me with a good body shot, but we are used to tough fights like this. I like it like that. This is fun to me. We will watch the video and correct what I know were a lot of mistakes, but I believe I’m ready for the next level. I’m ready for the top contenders.”
Televised coverage kicked off with Olympic bronze medalist Yordenis Ugas (16-3, 7 KOs) defeating contender Jamal James (20-1, 9 KOs) per decisió unànime (99-91, 98-92, 96-94) in a technical 10-round welterweight showdown.
Three days ago, James stepped in to replace undefeated welterweight Bryant Perrella, who was forced to withdraw from tonight’s bout because of an injury to his left thumb. James was coming off just 27 of days rest following his July 16 split decision victory over Wale Omotoso.
Ugas fought last 825 days ago when he lost his second consecutive bout, the third defeat of his career. No obstant això, Ugas showed no sign of ring rust el divendres night as he casually controlled the action against James.

A resilient James summed things up adding, “A fight like tonight makes me hungrier to get back in the gym and get myself ready to come back again better than ever.”
