ATLANTIC CITY BOXING HALL OF FAME ANNOUNCE THEIR CLASS OF 2019!!!!

Atlantic City, NJ. – Noiembrie 19, 2018 – The Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame (ACBHOF) a anunțat de 2019 Induction Class. The Induction Weekend will take place at The Claridge, a Radisson Hotel located at Park Place & Boardwalk in Atlantic City, New Jersey on June 21 – 23, 2019.
“We’re extremely excited about the Class of 2019 and are very much looking forward to paying tribute to the new inductees in Atlantic City at our 3rd annual induction weekend next June” said ACBHOF President and Founder Ray McCline.

Bernard Hopkins will be inducted into his first Hall of Fame as part of the third annual class that will include a total of 19 inductees.
“I feel appreciated and it’s starting to settle in that I’m near that mark of living legend. I don’t see myself as a living legend. Let other people decide that. This is a great honor and I’m grateful for the Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame for making this happen,” Hopkins said in a November 16 RingTV interview with Joseph Santoliquito.
“Watch who you co-sign for; you can’t sell me black to get in the door. You can’t sell me white to get in the door. You can’t sell me half white or half black or none of that to get in the door. But you can sell me LOYALTY” said former two-division champion Bernard Hopkins.
The 3rd Annual Induction Ceremony & Celebration Weekend will honor some of the world’s most iconic figures from the sport of boxing: Butch Lewis, Nigel Collins, Engleză “Bouie” Fisher and New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame’s President Henry Hascup are just a few named who will be enshrined with the 2019 induction class.
Inductees will be named in three categories: Fighter, Antrenor & Cut-Men and Special Contributors.
“It was a great honor to hear I was going to be inducted into Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame. Atlantic City is my second home, and as a pro fighter I’ve fought numerous times in this great city. It’s a great boxing town and it is an honor to be inducted into the Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame” spune Micky Ward.

Coming off her historic fight this past May against the undefeated Queen of Boxing Cecelia Breakhus, who won a 10-round decision in the first female fight to air on HBO, three-time world champion Kali “KO Mequinonoag” Reis (14-7-1, 4 KO) cruised past Mexican welterweight Patty “Las Elegante” Ramirez (11-6, 5 KO), un fost challenger titlu mondial, winning all eight rounds.

The 2016 New England Golden Gloves champion Laureano, who fights out of East Hartford, CT, put on an entertaining show in front of his large, loud contingent of fans. Laureano effectively used every punch in his vast arsenal to break down a tough, game Rodriguez.

 

 

 

“I thought I did well,” Laureano said after the fight, “but I’d like to see more angles. I want to see more power, prea. It’s there, he felt it; it’s coming. I have a long road. Popular South Boston southpaw Joe Farina (3-0, 2 KO) overcame a flash knockdown during the opening seconds of the fight, using a relentless attack to defeat junior welterweight Steve Moore (1-4, 1 KO), by way of a four-round split decision.

 

 

 

Irish junior welterweight “Lethal” Larry Fryers (formerly known as Gleeson) îmbunătățit recordul la 7-1 (2 KO) with a six-round unanimous decision over Anthony Woods (1-7-1). PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island (Iunie 26, 2018) – In advance of her fight this Saturday night at Mohegan Sun Arena, three-time world champion Kali “KO Mequinonoag” Reis held an open media workout today at Big Six Academy in Providence, Rhode Island.

 

 

 

Fighting out of nearby Cranston, RI, Reis (13-7-1, 4 KO) will face former world title challenger Patty “La Elegante” Ramirez (11-5, 5 KO), din Mexic, într-un meci semimijlocie opt rundă.

Uncasville, Conn. (jUNE 25, 2018) –With June 30th rapidly approaching, the hype for STAR BOXING’S “SLUGFEST at the SUN” continues to build as two of the premier fighters on the card will be making their New England homecoming. In the co-feature bout, KALI “KO MEQUINONOAG” REIS (13-7-1 4Lui KO) of Providence, Rhode Island will be making her third appearance at Mohegan Sun against PATY “LA ELEGANTE” RAMIREZ (11-5 5Lui KO). Adding to the excitement, Lui Connecticut proprii “ACTION” ANTHONY LAUREANO (7-0 3Lui KO) of East Hartford is set to make his return home at Mohegan Sun in his bout against JUAN de la CRUZ RODRIGUEZ (8-9-1 6Lui KO).

 

 

 

Rhode Island’s Native Warrior, Kali Reis, is no stranger to bright lights and pressure. Coming off an impressive performance on HBO against undisputed champion and #1 pound-for-pound female fighter in the world, Cecilia Braekhus, Reis looks to return home, back to New England and put her full warrior spirit out on display at the Mohegan Sun.

 

 

 

When commenting on her upcoming fight, Reis had this to say, “Fans can expect to see an even more determined, skilled, flămând, evolving WARRIOR in there! This bout against Rodriguez will mark the third time in his career that Laureano is fighting at Mohegan Sun.

 

 

 

When asked about the venue, this is what Laureano had to say, “I love Mohegan…Mohegan is my home. There is no place like it. I love the ring, everything is just so beautiful. RON SCOTT STEVENS: “Știu că oamenii o spun mereu, dar acesta este adevărul: Îi datorez atât de multor oameni care m-au sprijinit de-a lungul carierei mele. Boxul a fost întotdeauna acasă departe de mine și astăzi simt că sunt acasă.
“Am fost 30, locuind în Brooklyn Heights, și înapoi conducând un taxi, așteaptă pe mese. O lumină s-a stins în capul meu: boxul este sportul celui care nu se învață și eu sunt un neobișnuit. LA SCOALA: “Am crezut că boxul este cel mai prost și mai prost sport din istorie. Cine a vrut să fie lovit cu pumnul în față? Am început să boxez târziu. M-am jucat în jurul unora și oamenii au spus că sunt destul de bun. Am început să boxez când eram 20, in armata, staționat la Ft. Hood. Patru ani mai târziu, Eram în echipa olimpică. PETE BRODSKY: “Vreau să mulțumesc consiliului. Voi fi 70 și am început în box când eram 18. A creat o nouă direcție în viața mea. Sunt atât de mândru că sunt în companie cu tipi care nu au vorbit doar despre asta, le-a plăcut. Dacă îți place cu adevărat acest sport, chiar trebuie să o înveți. Orice om care a pășit în ring, plus toate lucrările de drum, timp în sala de gimnastică și sacrificarea a ceea ce mănâncă, a făcut-o ca să fie cât mai bine.
“În box, nu vei câștiga fiecare luptă, dar dacă un luptător câștigă sau pierde, dacă dă 100 la sută, el este un câștigător. NEW YORK (Martie 26, 2018) – Salvatori de box Bob Goodman și tatăl său, târziu Murray Goodman, sunt printre 23 membri ai clasei de 2018 fiind introdus în sala de faimă a boxului de stat din New York (NYSBHOF) pe Duminică după amiază (12:30-5:30 p.m. ȘI), Aprilie 29.
A șaptea cină anuală de inducție NYSBHOF va avea loc din nou la Russo’s On The Bay din Howard Beach, New York.
Un legendar publicist de box, Murray Goodman (Bronx) și-a adus fiul în știința dulce când Bob avea doar opt ani. Restul a fost istoric pentru Goodman, care sunt amândoi angajați în mai multe săli de renume, inclusiv Sala internațională a renumelui de box.
“Aceasta este o mare onoare pentru mine și tatăl meu,” Spuse Bob. “Mi-aș dori să fie în viață astăzi să fie acolo. Sunt o viață de box. Bob este, poate, cel mai cunoscut ca vicepreședinte și Matchmaker pentru Madison Square Garden (1985-1994), precum și un sfert de secol servind ca vicepreședinte al operațiunilor de box, Matchmaker și director de relații publice pentru Don King Productions. De asemenea, a promovat mulți campioni mondiali ca președinte al propriei sale companii, Boxul Garden State.

A graduate of Brown University, the now 80-year-old Sammartino has enjoyed two other careers as an oral surgeon and investment advisor at Blue Fin in Providence, in addition to his role as an international boxing judge since 1985.
“I first got into boxing because Joey Angelo married my cousin,” Sammartino explained. “He fought back in the early forties. Joey fought Willie Pep twice and Sandy Saddler. That’s what got me started. We used to have the great Luni Night Fights at Rhode Island Auditorium and I remember watching Rocky Marciano fight “Tigru” Ted Lowry there.”
Because he was a successful oral surgeon, Clark could take long weekends to judge fights all over the world. His first and most memorable world title fight was Vinny Paz-Greg Haughn I. Through his long career, Sammartino judged more than 400 lupte pro, inclusiv 50 major world title fights.
The list of boxers whose fights Sammartino judged reads like a Who’s Who of Boxing during the past 32 an: Mike Tyson, Oscar de la Hoya, Evander Holyfield, Julio Cesar Chavez, Johnny Tapia, Naseem Hamed, Chris Eubank, Marco Antonio Barrera, Mark Johnson, Wayne McCullough, Wladimir Klitschko, Gennady Golovkin, Anthony Joshua, Sergey Kovalev, Bernard Hopkins, Juan Manuel Lopez, Nonito Donaire, Acelino Freitas, Ivan Calderon, Felix Trinidad, Tommy Morrison and many more.
Sammartino, who proudly says he never missed a day of work in 40 an, has decided to retire, although he’ll remain a boxing fans for the rest of his life. “I started slowing down at my age, doing local shows and maybe three or four world title fights a year, mostly WBO and IBF,” Sammartino remarked. “I had a tough bout with pneumonia the past 5-6 months and that made working difficult.”
His CBHOF induction is a fitting ending and tremendous tribute to Sammartino and his career in boxing. “I’m humbled to be inducted into the Connecticut Boxing Hall of Fame,” el a spus. “This is a great way to end my career.”
