Portland, Maine (Februar 13, 2022) – En ny mester og et succesfuldt titelforsvar i amatørrækkerne og en fantastisk vending af lykken på professionelt niveau fremhævede New England Fights’ 10-års jubilæumskort lørdag aften.

"NEF 46: Decade of Dominance” var et propfyldt, 15-kæmpe fusillade før endnu en udsolgt, energisk publikum på Aura i Portland, Maine.

Mike Murray ogZach Faulkner begejstrede disse fans med en tidlig "Fight of the Year"-kandidat i deres brouhaha for den ledige 170-pund titel. Murray (4-2) anvendte de erfaringer, han lærte i tidligere tab, til Zac Richard og Tim Birkenhead hos NEF 40 og 41, henholdsvis, ved at samles om en split decision-sejr over Faulkner (4-2).

LACEY AND MANLEY HEADED FOR SHOWDOWN AT NEF 44 IN MILFORD, NH

Milford, New Hampshire (Juni 29, 2021) - New England Fights (NEF) returns with its next event, "NEF 44: Back in Black,” on August 21, 2021, at the Hampshire Dome in Milford, New Hampshire. The show will feature both mixed-martial-arts (MMA) and kickboxing fights. Earlier today, NEF announced the addition of a professional featherweight bout to the fight card.Aaron "Relentless" Lacey (6-2) mødes“Super” Shane Manley(5-5) ved en kampvægt på 145 pounds.

Aaron Lacey will return to the NEF cage for the first time since September 2018 when he submitted Jon Lemke (7-9) in the main event of “NEF 35” in Bangor, Maine. Lacey has been a longtime member of the NEF roster, debuting with the promotion as an amateur in the fall of 2013. He went on to win the promotion’s amateur featherweight title before turning pro in 2016. Lacey opened his professional career with four straight wins in the NEF cage. He represents Young’s MMA in Bangor.

“It’s been far too long since I have felt the NEF canvas beneath my feet,” exclaimed Lacey.  “I’m going to show everyone why this is the fight to watch! I’m super grateful to Matt Peterson and New England Fights for making this happen, fighting during the pandemic at the local level has been next to impossible. One thing that definitely excites me is sharing this card with some awesome teammates! A fun scrap is about to happen!"

Shane Manley is making his return to the NEF cage after nearly a decade’s absence. Manley competed on the NEF 1 and NEF 2 kort, downing Jesse Erickson (10-8) and Ray Wood (8-5) in respective amateur bouts back in early 2012. Manley turned pro in 2013 and has faced some of the country’s toughest competitors, including current UFC fighter Cody Garbrandt (12-4).  I 2017, he fought for national promotion Bellator. Manley’s most recent outing saw him hand Jeff Perez (5-2) the first loss of his career on a fight card in Massachusetts. That bout took place in 2019, prior to the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Manley currently represents Team Andrello of Liverpool, New York.

“I’ve been a part of NEF since the beginning, competing as an amateur on the NEF 1 and NEF 2 kort,” stated Manley when reached for comment.  “It feels like the right fit to have me back after such a long layoff since their last show. I’m beyond excited to be a part of NEF’s debut in New Hampshire! I’m ready to come back to the promotion right where I left off… with another win! 3-0."

AARON LACEY RETURNING TO THE CAGE AT NEF 43 I ORONO, MAINE

It will have been 19 months since the last time Aaron Lacey stepped in the NEF cage as a competitor. Lacey defeated veteran Jon Lemke (7-9) in the main event of “NEF 35” in September 2018. He has not fought since due to an injury suffered later that fall. A former NEF Amateur Featherweight Champion, Lacey started his professional career a perfect 4-0 before going 2-2 in his last four bouts. He will look to make his comeback a successful one on April 18. Lacey represents Young’s MMA based in nearby Bangor, Maine.

LACEY AND JONES TO VIE FOR FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE AT NEF 36

Portland, Maine (September 13, 2018) - New England Fights (NEF) will hold its final mixed-martial-arts event of 2018, “NEF 36: Battle for the Gold,” på lørdag, November 17 ved Aura i Portland, Maine. Tidligere i dag, the fight promotion announced the addition of a professional featherweight title fight to the card. Aaron “Relentless” Lacey (6-2) is scheduled to meet Bill Jones (13-10) for the vacant NEF Professional Featherweight Championship.

Lacey is coming off one of the biggest wins of his professional career to date. Last weekend at “NEF 35” before his hometown fans in Bangor, Maine, Lacey submitted Jon Lemke (7-9) just under two minutes into the first round. It was a rebound win for Lacey who lost a decision to a very tough Da’Mon Blackshear (5-2) earlier this summer in Portland. På “NEF 36,” Lacey will look to capture gold in the promotion for the second time – he won the NEF Amateur Featherweight Title at “NEF 20” i november 2015 in what would be his final amateur fight. Lacey is a member of Young’s MMA based in Bangor.

“I’m excited to be fighting for this strap,” udbrød Lacey. “I was NEF’s first amateur 145-pound champion and I look forward to being one of the first people to hold amateur and professional belts for New England Fights! I have a very formidable and experienced opponent, but this belt has been calling my name for a long time and I am going to take what I have worked for all along!"

Bill Jones is one of the pioneers of the New England MMA scene, having competed in the region since 2007. He holds wins over some of the top fighters ever to come out of the area such as UFC veteran Tateki Matsuda (13-9) and current UFC competitor Matt Bessette (22-9). Jones has competed at the national level for the World Series of Fighting (WSOF). Like Lacey, he also holds a first-round submission of Jon Lemke to his credit. På “NEF 33″ in Portland last spring, Jones was victorious over Matt Denning (5-8) via technical knockout in the second round. He is currently a member of Nostos MMA in Somersworth, New Hampshire.

“I’m at my most dangerous when I’m focused—and you best believe that I’ll be bringing a whole new level of commitment to my camp with the NEF Featherweight title on the line, a belt that I’ve had my eyes on for a long, lang tid,” stated Jones. “I have a lot left in the tank and I’m out to prove in this fight that I’m no journeyman—I’m hard work for anyone that wants some. I can’t wait to be back in the NEF cage and put on a show for everyone!"

NEF ANNOUNCES BIGGEST FIGHT CARD IT HAS EVER BROUGHT TO BANGOR

Bangor, Maine (August 24, 2018) - New England Fights (NEF) afholder sin næste blandede kampsportbegivenhed, “NEF 35: Wicked Season,” september 8 på Cross Insurance Center i Bangor. The event will mark the fourth time since 2013 that NEF has visited the Queen City. Tidligere i dag, the fight promotion announced the full fight card planned for the evening.

The exciting main event will feature two popular Bangor-area athletes doing battle as Jon Lemke (7-8) opfylder Aaron “Relentless” Lacey (5-2) in a lightweight contest. Lemke, en veteran fra United States Marine Corps, trains with Titan Athletics in neighboring Brewer, Maine, while Lacey represents Young’s MMA of Bangor.

The co-main event will see Lacey’s teammate, and reigning NEF Professional Lightweight Champion, “Den” Ryan Sanders (16-9) at tage på Armando “Big Chino” Montoya (10-6) in a non-title welterweight scrap. Sanders is coming off a huge submission win earlier this summer in Portland, Maine. Montoya, who represents First Class MMA of Brunswick, Maine, will debut in the Pine Tree State after a decade-long career on the southwest MMA circuit.

In another highly-anticipated professional fight, Caleb Hall (1-0) of the Choi Institute in Portland will face another Young’s MMA team member in the form of CJ Ewer (3-1). After a successful amateur career that saw him capture the NEF Amateur Featherweight Title, Hall impressed with a first-round submission of veteran John Ortolani (8-12) earlier this year in his pro debut. Ewer, a member of the United States Air Force security forces, closed out “NEF 30” last August in Bangor winning the promotion’s pro middleweight strap over Mike Hansen (5-9).

The amateur portion of the fight card will be headlined by a title fight as Pat “PK” Kelly (4-0) puts both his lightweight belt and undefeated record on the line against the challenge of Ed Forlenza (2-2). Kelly, der vendte 54 last week, is a legend of Maine wrestling mats as both a competitor and coach and a member of the Maine Amateur Wrestling Hall of Fame. Speaking of wrestling coaches, “NEF 35” will also feature the amateur debut of Shawn Costigan (0-0). Costigan is a member of the Bucksport High School wrestling coaching staff. He will represent Young’s MMA in his cage debut when he takes on the fellow-debuting David Hills (0-0).

Also on the amateur card will be the brother of CJ Ewer, Roger Ewer (1-0). A pharmacist by day, Roger made his amateur debut last year at “NEF 30” in Bangor with a second round technical knockout of Dustin Freeman (0-1). På “NEF 35,” he will take on Jason Hanley (0-0) of Orchard Park Martial Arts in western New York state.

Lemke is an eleven-fight veteran of the NEF cage and a perennial top contender in the promotion’s lightweight division. A member of Titan Athletics based in neighboring Brewer, Maine, Lemke has developed a massive following out of the Bangor area. He is a four-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps. One of the highlights of Lemke’s career was scoring a victory over Jesse Erickson (9-7) before a nationally televised audience on the NEF co-promoted Bellator 93 event in Lewiston, Maine. He is coming off a unanimous decision win against Josh LaBerge (11-7) in Rhode Island last fall.

“It is with great excitement and anticipation that I step back into the NEF cage to fight in front of my hometown friends and fans,” sagde Lemke. “It is with equal enthusiasm that I fight Aaron Lacey, who is one of the best fighters in New England. This is going to be an absolute battle that fans will not want to miss.”

For Lacey, the bout with Lemke will be the first time he has fought in the lightweight division since his amateur career. Lacey was victorious over Dom Cofone (6-6) in a 150-pound catchweight contest in the spring of 2014. Da denne kamp, Lacey has competed nine times – all in the 145-pound featherweight division. Portland, Maine (Juni 17, 2018) - New England Fights (NEF) made its return to Portland, Maine on Saturday night with the fight promotion’s latest mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 34: Home of the Brave.” A jam-packed house of fight fans took in the action as NEF fighters delivered the non-stop excitement from bell to bell in what many are calling one of the best events the company has ever produced.

 

 

 

On a card featuring a total of 18 slagsmål, dommerne’ scorecards were not needed until the thirteenth bout of the evening. Prior to that time, the early card featured a plethora of exciting finishes including a pair of D’Arce Chokes courtesy of Angelo Rizzitello (2-1) and Henry Clark (4-4) and highlight-reel knockouts by Cody Rolling (5-5) and Zac Lawrence (1-0). Thirteen of the evening’s fights ended in the first round.

 

 

 

Kam Arnold (4-0) and Killian Murphy (1-1) waged an absolute war for the vacant amateur bantamweight title in what made history as the first amateur fight in Maine to ever go beyond the old three-round limit. Arnold claimed the title with a fourth-round knockout in a bout that will certainly be a contender for “Fight of the Year” this December when voting begins.

 

 

 

Not to be outdone, Carlton Charles (2-2) and Duncan “The Highlander” Smith (3-2) took their amateur welterweight title fight into the fourth round as well. Smith took the gold home after putting Charles out with a rear-naked choke.

 

 

 

On the professional side of the card, Young’s MMA teammates “Den” Ryan Sanders (16-9) and Aaron “Relentless” Lacey (5-2) were in action. Sanders submitted Vince McGuiness (5-8) with just seconds remaining in the first round while Lacey lost a unanimous decision to Da’Mon Blackshear (5-1) i main event.

 

 

 

NEF announced that its next MMA event, “NEF 35: Wicked Season,” would originate from the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine on September 8, 2018. NEF RELEASES FIGHT CARD FOR RETURN TO PORTLAND ON JUNE 16

Portland, Maine (Maj 18, 2018) –Earlier today, New England Fights (NEF) released the official card for its upcoming return to Aura in Portland, Maine. The mixed-martial-arts event, berettiget “NEF 34: Home of the Brave,” is scheduled to take place on Saturday night, Juni 16, 2018 med en klokkeslæt af 7:00 pm EDT.

 

 

 

The main event will feature two rising East Coast prospects when Bangor, Maine’s own Aaron “Relentless” Lacey (5-1) meets Fayetteville, North Carolina’s Da’Mon “The Diamond” Blackshear (4-1) i en fjerlet kamp. Lacey is coming off a dominant win over veteran Josh Parker (6-9) tidligere på året, while Blackshear looks to rebound from the first loss of his professional career last August.

 

 

 

Lacey’s Young’s MMA teammate “Den” Ryan Sanders (15-9) will see action in the co-main event against Tampa, Florida’s Vince McGuiness (5-7). Sanders is the reigning NEF MMA Pro Lightweight Champion. The fight with McGuiness will be a non-title affair.

 

 

 

Rounding out the professional portion of the card will be yet another Young’s MMA competitor in the form of Carl Langston (0-1) who is scheduled to rematch The Choi Institute’s Ernesto Ornelas (3-7) in a battle of Portland fan-favorites. Langston and Ornelas initially met last month at “NEF 33” with Ornelas coming out on top via unanimous decision. Langston immediately requested a rematch blaming his performance on nerves surrounding his pro debut. Ornelas obliged and has promised to finish Langston this time out, leaving no room for question.

 

 

 

The amateur portion of the card will be headlined by a pair of title fights. Undefeated Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) Udsigten Kam Arnold (3-0) vil stå over for Michael Crespo (3-3) of First Class MMA for the vacant NEF MMA Amateur Bantamweight Championship. In the second title fight, Carlton Charles (2-1) of the Charles Fighting Family and Berserkers MMA meets Duncan “The Highlander” Smith (2-2) of Evolution Athletix to crown a new NEF MMA Amateur Welterweight Champion. Both fights are scheduled for five three-minute rounds – a first in the NEF amateur division as all previous title fights had been scheduled for three three-minute rounds.

 

 

 

Three women’s bouts will take place on the amateur card. Brianne Genschel (0-1) of First Class MMA and the Foundry will take on Tampa, Florida’s Amanda Gallo (1-1) while Genschel’s First Class MMA teammate Chelsea Tucker (0-2) faces the debuting Glory Watson (0-0) af Youngs MMA, og Carol Linn Powell (0-1) opfylder Sarah Matulis (1-0) of the Outlet. Portland, Maine (April 18, 2018) - New England Fights (NEF) returns to Aura in Portland, Maine with its next mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 34: Home of the Brave,” på lørdag nat, Juni 16, 2018. Tidligere i dag, the fight promotion officially announced a professional featherweight bout for the card. Aaron “Relentless” Lacey (5-1) er planlagt til at stå over for Da’Mon “The Diamond” Blackshear (4-1).

After suffering the first loss of his professional career in late 2017 – a doctor stoppage due to a cut on his head during a bout in New Hampshire – Lacey bounced back this past February with a big victory at “NEF 32” i Lewiston, Maine. He came out aggressive in the first round against veteran Josh Parker (6-10), forcing Parker to tap late in the first-round to a rear-naked choke. And while it certainly was an impressive win for the 2016 NEF Fighter of the Year and product of Young’s MMA, Lacey felt that he had more to showcase for his fans. He will get the opportunity again on Juni 16 against Blackshear.

“It’s time once again to do what I love in front of the fans that I love,” said Lacey. “My last fight was really quick, and I didn’t get to showcase what I have been working on. Although I’m always going for the finish, I will be looking to put on an entertaining show that fans will not soon forget!"

Based out of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Da’Mon Blackshear began his MMA career in the fall of 2014. He put together a stellar amateur record of 7-1, capturing two championships in the southeastern region of the country. Upon turning professional, Blackshear, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt, has taken three of his four pro victories by way of submission. He has earned gold in numerous submission-only grappling events, regularly defeating black belts and larger opponents. Blackshear serves as a coach of Team R.O.C. in Fayetteville.
