“It feels amazing to win this title,” said the Phoenix resident Benavidez. “It’s everything I’ve dreamed about since I was a little kid. It’s everything I’ve dedicated myself to and I’ve worked hard for. It finally paid off.”

 

The 31-year-old Romanian Gavril, who trains at Mayweather’s Gym in Las Vegas by Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, sent Benavidez to the canvas with a left hook with just 50 seconds left in the wild 12º i ronda final.

Ell (26-3-1, 16 KOs) of El Pas, Texas, was left stunned and fell to the floor as blood gushed from his forehead above his left eye and he was immediately checked on by referee Kenny Bayless.

 

Ell, who left the arena sitting up on a stretcher before hearing the decision, won the statistical battle in the ring. Han landed more blows (78-47 total, 20-12 jabs, 58-35 energia) and did so more accurately (24 percent to 17 percent overall, 16 percent to eight percent jabs and 30 percent to 27 percentatge de potència).

Plant added: “I’m ready to step up in competition and fight anybody in the top 10 of the super middleweight division. I got my eye on Benavidez and all the other world champions. vinc!"

“El Paso is trying to become a fight town and we have a lot of good trainers, but we still have a ways to go.

 

“I injured my shoulder a few years ago and couldn’t use my right shoulder so I started fighting more southpaw. I’ve done a lot of mixed martial arts growing up, and it hasn’t been hard switching from that to boxing.

 

“J’Leon Love has one of the best teams in boxing in Mayweather Promotions. I have to throw punches in bunches.”

 

CALEB PLANTA

“I’m just going to go in there calm and relaxed as I always do and make adjustments as I need to. I could tell you everything I plan to do, or what could happen, but this this is boxing and everyone knows how it works. It depends on what’s going on inside the ring, and I will make adjustments.

 

“My opponent does different things and is very durable and comes to fight. We know he moves well and can do different things and be the aggressor. He has different dimensions. We’re not overlooking him.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (Setembre 5, 2017) – Unbeaten middleweight contender, Caleb “Sweethands” Planta (15-0, 10 KOs) is just a few days away from making his SHOWTIME debut aquest divendres al Hard Rock Hotel & Casino a Las Vegas. “Training camp has been unbelievable. It’s no doubt, one of my best training camps ever. My weight is perfect and I couldn’t be happier with the way I’ve been looking in the gym. My trainer Justin Gamber is doing a phenomenal job, as well as my dad Richie. Larry Wade, my strength and conditioning coach, has got me in tip top shape. David “El Bandera Roja” Benavidez

  • He trains out of The Summit Gym in Big Bear, Califòrnia.
  • His trainer is his father, Jose Benavidez Sr.

  • He’s very familiar with the gym because his brother Jose Benavidez Jr. (former WBA interim super lightweight champion) used to train there when he was active.

“My training camps are always fairly long. I only take a week off after every fight and go back into training. For the first couple weeks, it’s just moving around, then we slowly work into the hard training. For this one, I probably had like a month and a half, two months.”

“I feel like he [Ronald Gavril] has a really good style for me to showcase my skills, like how I did against Rogelio Medina. With our sparring partners, we have brawlers and we have boxers, també. Whatever style he fights on that night, I’m going to be prepared for it.”

“I got Ronald sparring with the IBF’s number-one super middleweight contender, Jose UzCategi. He’s giving us good work, too—he can fight. We also sparred Badou Jack for a couple rounds. We’ve got an abundance of guys that we’re working with.

 

“The way they’re talking about Benavidez, it’s like he’s King Kong. But it’s good—perfect! Ronald is a boxer-puncher, he can adapt. That’s the whole key. He has a wealth of amateur experience. This is our opportunity. We’ve talked about this for a while now, and Ronald is at a point where he’s ready right now…It’s going to be a great fight.”

 

J'Leon Amor

  • He trains at the Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas.
  • His trainer is Theo Chambers.
  • He’s been in training camp for about five months

 

Love on training camp:

“My training camp—it’s been months! I started training in April. Being that we had fights fall out, I always stayed in the gym. That’s the hardest part, because I feel like I’ve had bad luck with fights falling out. But one thing I can say—we train our ass off! I just want to go on vacation after this.”

 

“We’ve had a lot of good sparring—Lionell Thompson and Denis Douglin have been in here working. We’ve had so many sparring partners throughout this camp, and we’ve just been working, working, working.

“I remember Abie Han from the amateurs. He’s always been a tough fighter. You can’t look past anybody. Everybody comes in that ring to fight. Everybody comes in with a different mode or a different drive, so this may be the drive he has to really come out and explode on the scene and beat me. Així, I’m taking him absolutely, positively serious, like he’s a world championship fighter and we’re fighting for the world title.”

 

Abraham “The Sun City Warrior” Han

  • Trains out of his father’s martial arts studio in El Paso, Texas (Han’s Martial Arts).
  • He is trained by Louie Burke — 56 anys; former pro junior lightweight, retired in 1985 amb un registre de 19-3, 12 KOs; won the “ESPN Junior Lightweight Title” on Apr. 14, 1983, with a 12-round unanimous decision against Freddie Roach; also won a 10-round decision against Roach in the rematch on Nov. 10, 1983.

“I train at my dad’s martial arts studio in El Paso – Han’s Martial Arts. I’m sparring mostly with local people from El Paso, and I also sparred with Austin Trout.

 

“I’ve been working hard and working with Austin (Truita) and that makes a big difference. Austin makes me so much better. He’s been a world champion and he will be a world champion again. His expertise and his knowledge is amazing. He’s been in those situations and he tells me little things along the way and I think that will make all the difference in this fight.”

 

Caleb “Sweet Hands” Plant

  • Moved to Las Vegas from Nashville about a year ago to train
  • He is trained by Justin Gamber and his father Richie Plant.

 

Plant on training camp:

“I’ve been living in Las Vegas for more than a year now – since August 24th, 2016. I’ve been in the gym consistently this whole time since my last fight, but my ‘official’ training camp will be seven or eight weeks. We bounce around to a couple of different gyms for sparring. I’ve had good work this camp – great sparring, good strength and conditioning, good gym work, and I’ve had good rest. I have a good diet.

 

“I know every boxer says, ‘Oh, this is my best camp,’ and a lot of times they don’t mean it. But this has literally been my best camp. Things are very smooth.”

 

Andrew Hernández

  • He is managed by his wife Jacquie Hernandez and trained by Alan Beirs.
  • Alfred Quintana serves as his cut man and strength and conditioning coach.
  • A late replacement, Hernandez got the call on Aug. 29 and accepted the fight; contract signed the next day.
  • Trains at Gents Gym in Arrowhead, Ariz.

 

What Hernandez has to say:

“I’ve known my trainer, Alan Beirs, for a while. He actually helped me with my last couple of fights – we’ve only been together maybe six months or so. He worked my corner in February, but we weren’t working completely together. Then when I got back in the gym in March, that’s when we really started working together.

 

“I train at a place called Gents Gym in Arrowhead, Ariz. I trained there with the Busted Knuckles Boxing crew – that’s Alan Beirs’ crew. We’re all pushing each other to get better and I know they’ll have me ready for fight night.”

He won a hard-fought decision over Steven Martinez last August and followed it up with another impressive victory over Luis Hernandez on Febrer. 10. Lubin most recently scored a sensational knockout of Jorge Cota in a title eliminator in March at Barclays Center.

Truita, a 31-year-old southpaw from Las Cruces, Nou Mèxic, has faced some of the top 154-pound boxers in the division. He defeated Miguel Cotto in New York to win a title in 2012 and has close losses to Canelo Alvarez and Lara on his resume. In his most recent attempt at winning the title, Trout gave Jermall Charlo perhaps the toughest test of his career after looking impressive in four straight victories leading up to the challenge.

LAS VEGAS (Agost. 27, 2017) – Futur membre del Saló de la Fama de la Boxa Floyd “Diners” Mayweather va acabar amb estil la seva històrica carrera en dissabte nit amb una contundent victòria per nocaut tècnic a la 10a ronda sobre la megaestrella de l'UFC Conor McGregor a l'esdeveniment principal d'un esdeveniment PPV SHOWTIME de quatre baralles del T-Mobile Arena de Las Vegas.
La Mayweather, de 40 anys, lluitant per primera vegada a 714 dia, va anunciar després de la lluita que mai més lluitarà, acabant els seus 21 anys de carrera amb estil controlant una lluita de tota acció que va emocionar els 14,623 fans presents i mirant arreu del món. Amb Mayweather avançant tal com va prometre, l'àrbitre Robert Byrd va aturar la lluita de pes superwelter 1:05 dels 10º rodona mentre Mayweather va castigar McGregor amb una sèrie de cops que van esglaonar el seu cansat oponent..

L'àrbitre Russell Mora va donar el compte de 10 que va permetre a Davis guanyar la seva 18a victòria a l'aturada. 19 baralles professionals. La baralla inicialment estava programada per a Davis’ segona defensa del seu Campionat del Món de pes lleuger júnior de la FIB, però Davis no va aconseguir fer pes el divendres, arribant dues lliures per sobre del límit de 130 lliures que Fonseca (19-1-1, 13 KOs) pesat-in.
“Vaig llançar el tret mentre baixava el cap,” va dir Davis. “Definitivament l'aniria a aturar al final. Va tenir problemes abans de l'últim tir.”
Davis va continuar, “em quedaré a 130 lliures i intento recuperar el meu títol. Encara vull unificar la divisió de pes lleuger júnior.”
Fonseca va dir que el van enviar a la lona amb un cop il·legal.
“Tothom ho va veure quan baixava, em va colpejar dues vegades darrere,” va dir Fonseca. “És un cop que no és legal. El de Las Vegas, Jack d'origen suec (21-1-3, 13 KOs) superat Intel·ligentment (30-4, 16 KOs) en un combat unilateral que va ser aturat per l'àrbitre Tony Weeks amb 12 segons queden per a la cinquena ronda. Va ser la primera baralla per a Jack des que es va mudar 168 lliures a 175 lliura.
Jack havia aconseguit empats majoritaris en cadascuna de les seves dues últimes baralles contra James DeGale d'Anglaterra i el canadenc Lucian Bute..
“És un somni fet realitat,” va dir el Jack, de 33 anys. “He après que no ho pots deixar en mans dels jutges.”

Tabiti (16-0, 13 KOs) va controlar l'acció contra Cunningham, de 41 anys (29-9-1, 13 KOs) en el seu camí cap a una decisió unànime va anotar 97-93 dues vegades i 100-90.
Amb Floyd Mayweather Sr. treballant al seu racó, el Tabiti, de 27 anys, va marcar el ritme d'hora i va marcar el ritme de tota la lluita. “Només l'estava punxant i m'assegurava de mantenir-me intel·ligent,” va dir Tabiti. “Ell és un veterà, així que vaig haver de mantenir-me tranquil. Juan Heráldez es recupera de la derrota per guanyar la decisió Jose Miguel Borrego a Battle of Unbeaten Prospects

LAS VEGAS (Agost 26, 2017) – Contendent de pes welter Yordenis Ugas (20-3, 9 KOs) es va endur una victòria per decisió unànime Thomas Dulorme (24-3, 16 KOs) tot i haver estat enderrocat a Mayweather vs. Acció preliminar de McGregor presentada per Mayweather Promotions a FOX i FOX Deportes dissabte a la nit des del T-Mobile Arena de Las Vegas.
Els dos homes van intentar establir el seu jab a la primera ronda, però a la segona ronda Ugas va aconseguir un gran uppercut que va sorprendre Dulorme i el va obligar a agenollar-se.. Dulorme es va aixecar i va intentar disparar, però va ser colpejat amb una mà dreta que el va fer caure per segona vegada a la ronda..
“Va ser una gran baralla,” va dir l'Ugas. “Sabia que Dulorme tenia un gran campament preparant-se per a Shawn Porter, així que quan el vaig derrocar vaig pensar que s'aixecava.. Només tenia nou dies per preparar aquesta lluita, així que vaig haver de ser intel·ligent i no malgastar res.”
“Va ser una bona baralla,” Said Dulorme. “Va ser una lluita molt dura. Vaig venir a lluitar i el vaig prendre seriosament. Vaig seguir treballant. Va anar amunt i avall però vaig seguir treballant.
El combat es va definir per una bona acció d'anada i tornada amb els dos homes controlant els seus moments. Dulorme es va comprometre a atacar el cos per frenar Ugas, però va rebre un avís per cops baixos a la cinquena ronda.. Tanmateix, Dulorme va continuar provant el cos i es va desviar massa a principis de la setena ronda, obligant l'àrbitre Vic Drakulich a restar un punt.
La deducció semblava encendre foc sota Dulorme que va avançar i va començar a trencar la defensa d'Ugas. Un uppercut va sorprendre temporalment a Ugas a la meitat de la ronda i Dulorme va seguir poc després amb un ganxo d'esquerra que va posar Ugas a la lona..
“Quan em van enderrocar vaig saber que m'havia d'aixecar i mostrar cor i coratge,” va dir l'Ugas. “Aquesta era l'única manera de fer-ho.”
L'impuls de la lluita va continuar canviant de cara a l'última ronda quan Dulorme va tornar a llançar un cop baix que va obligar l'àrbitre a restar un punt al principi del marc.. Els dos homes van avançar els últims minuts de la lluita buscant un altre cop decisiu però després 10 rondes, la lluita va quedar en mans dels jutges.
“Vaig pensar que l'àrbitre va perdre la lluita per mi,” Said Dulorme. “No estava d'acord amb ell. No pensava que estigués llançant cops baixos. Vaig pensar que estava net. Vaig pensar que estava cansat al final de la lluita, així que vaig intentar augmentar la pressió. Però va ser dur perquè l'àrbitre no em va deixar treballar per dins com jo volia.”
“Em vaig cansar una mica al final i hauria d'haver tancat l'espectacle,” va dir l'Ugas. “Però això passa amb baralles de poca antelació. Només he de seguir millorant.”
Els tres jutges van veure l'enfrontament a favor d'Ugas per unes quantes 94-91 i 93-92 dues vegades.
“Tornaré al campament i seguiré aprenent,” Said Dulorme. “No estic content, però vaig a seguir aprenent. Avui he baixat del terra i he seguit lluitant i ho seguiré fent durant la meva carrera.”
Va veure l'inici de la transmissió Juan HERALDEZ (13-0, 8 KOs) encaixa el camí cap a una decisió unànime José Miguel Borrego (12-1, 11 KOs) en la seva lluita de 10 aspeses de pes welter.
“Estava molt preparat i vaig aprofitar aquesta oportunitat,” va dir Heráldez. “Vaig executar el meu pla i vaig sortir amb una clara victòria. A part de la caiguda, Vaig pensar que l'he sortit a la caixa cada dos torns. “El jab va ser realment la clau d'aquesta nit. Vaig dictar tot el jab i vaig intentar utilitzar els meus angles, el meu treball de peus i el meu moviment. Vaig fer el que volia fer.”
Heráldez va controlar l'anell durant gran part de la lluita amb el seu jab i moviment a l'exterior, mentre que Borrego semblava concentrat a llançar cops de potència i un nocaut. Heráldez va controlar el ritme a les primeres rondes, aterrant combinacions de puntuació abans de llançar-se fora del camí i evitar el foc de retorn de Borrego.
“Heráldez va dirigir tota la lluita,” va dir en Borrego. “Estic content que els aficionats hagin esbroncat la decisió perquè saben que va córrer. Vaig venir a entretenir els aficionats i això és el que vaig fer.”
El jove Borrego, de 19 anys, es va conformar amb cobrir-se i abaixar-se mentre intentava navegar pel jab d'Heráldez., però no va poder aterrar prou ganxos esquerres per guanyar les primeres rondes de la lluita. Va tenir el seu primer moment al final del sisè quan un ganxo esquerre en bucle va connectar amb Heraldez i va semblar atordir-lo just abans que la campana acabés la ronda..
Borrego va continuar atacant de manera agressiva mentre perseguia Heráldez amb cops de gran poder. A la novena ronda, Borrego va connectar net amb un ganxo d'esquerra que va posar Heráldez a l'estora a mitja ronda..
“Em vaig deixar distreure i per això em vaig assolar,” va dir Heráldez. Em vaig avançar una mica. Sóc l'única persona que em pot aturar.
Tot i la contínua agressió de Borrego, Heráldez va poder aguantar i sobreviure a la ronda sense més danys.
“He de tallar millor l'anell,” va dir en Borrego. “També he de deixar anar més les mans i llançar tres o quatre combinacions de cops en lloc de només una o dues alhora.”
L'última ronda va veure que Heráldez va tornar a utilitzar el seu moviment, ja que va poder evitar la càrrega de Borrego durant els últims tres minuts.. Després 10 rondes, els tres jutges van anotar el combat a favor d'Heráldez per dotzes de 96-93 i 97-92 dues vegades.
“Em sento genial estar en aquest escenari i són moments com aquests on puc sortir i competir i puc demostrar la raó a tots els que m'han donat aquesta oportunitat.,” va dir Heráldez. “Aquesta va ser una lluita amb perspectiva i ara estic en coses més grans i millors. Estic preparat per fer el següent pas.”
