Bethlehem, PA (Mei 6, 2019)–Frank De Albagot back in the win column by winning an eight-round unanimous decision over Ruben Dario Lopez in a super featherweight bout in front of a sold-out crowd at The Sands Bethlehem Event Center.
The action was promoted by King’s Promotions and Titans Boxing Promotions.
De Alba had to overcome a hard-charging Lopez, as the visitor form Argentina came out swinging wildly in the first 30 seconds of the fight. De Alba was able to fend that off, and get into a nice rhythm of boxing.
De Alba was keeping a solid distance, and work behind the jab, and befuddled Lopez throughout the rest of the contest, and won by shut out scores of 80-72 alle kaarten.
De Alba, who was on a two-fight losing streak, got back in the win column which upped the Reading, PA native’s record of 23-4-2. Lopez of Rosario, Argentinië is 12-14-4.
In de co-functie, Erik Lentetook an exciting eight-round unanimous decision over Nicholas Hernandez to win the USBF Silver Junior Middleweight Championship.
Hernandez has success early as he pressed the action and rocked Spring several times. With the crowd in a frenzy, as they cheered on the two Pennsylvania based fighters, Spring was able to turn the tide in the middle rounds as both he and Hernandez engaged in several toe-toe exchanges.
The bout was close heading into the home stretch, and Spring needed them bad as his work over the final six-minutes was the difference of the fight as he took all three cards by 77-75 scores.
Spring van Reading, PA is 13-2-1. Hernandez of Lebanon, PA is 9-4-1.
Jonathan Torres van Bethlehem, PA won a four-round unanimous decision over Jerrod Miner in a bantamweight fight.
Scores waren 40-36 twice for Torres, en is nu 3-0. Miner of Philadelphia falls to 1-5-2.
Martino Juleswon a six-round unanimous decision over Danny Flores to win the ABO Junior Featherweight title.

In a wild bantamweight fight, Yeuri Andujarhad to get off the deck twice to eek out a six-round majority decision over Edgar Cortes.
Andujar was decked in round two, and each guy traded knockdowns in round three. Each fighter took control of the fight at different stages of the bout, that produced several furious exchanges.
The sell out crowd voiced their disapproval with the outcome which read 57-56 for Andujar on two cards, en 56-56.

Radzhab Butaevwon a six-round unanimous decision over Silverio Ortiz in a welterweight fight.

NEW YORK (Mei 3, 2019) –Middleweight contender Chris Pearson scored a major victory over previously undefeated Olympic Bronze Medal winner Yamaguchi Falcao in a 10-round bout at The Joint at The Hard Rock in Las Vegas.
The win netted Pearson the WBO Latino Middleweight title.
Pearson boxed very well as he befuddled Falcao, and consistently beat the former amateur star to the punch throughout the contest.
Pearson, who already held a win over Falcao in the World Series of Boxing, repeated the verdict of 2011 by using good head-speed that saw the judges scorecards read 97-93 en 96-94 tweemaal.
The win will gain Pearson a high-ranking in the WBO, and improves the Trotwood, Ohio native’s record to 17-2.
This was the 3rd consecutive win for Pearson, who is managed by Split-T Management.
“My plan was to be patient and control the pace. I was able to capitalize on him being a bit slower then me,” said Pearson. “This win gets me back to where I need to be.”
“I’m blessed with this victory,” continued Pearson. “Nobody knows the trials I’ve gone through. If I can be someone that inspires, then I’ll be happy. I’m going to rest for a couple days and then get right back to the gym.”

Jacobs will be moving laterally, pawing a tentative jab and using head feints. The cautious 1stround will end with Alvarez stepping in and throwing a few hard body shots, causing the partisan crowd to erupt in cheers.
Alvarez will continue to apply pressure in the 2nd en 3rdrounds with Jacobs working to establish his jab with more authority. Jacobs will land a few heavy jabs to the face with Alvarez countering with right hands over the top. Jacobs will step to his left to avoid Alvarez’s left hook to the body.
The action will continue to intensify through the middle rounds. Jacobs will be following his jab with a straight right hand. Alvarez will be crouching and using his strength on the inside, using overhand rights and hooks to the arms and ribs.
Alvarez will sport some redness around his eyes and Jacobs will show welts across his torso. The pro-Alvarez crowd will gasp as Jacobs lands a series of hard right hands in the 6thround but will then erupt in the 7thwhen an exchange of left hooks sees Alvarez land first, sending Jacobs sprawling back to the canvas.
Jacobs will rise and affirm to referee Tony Weeks that he is okay to continue. Alvarez will attack, throwing his left hook to the body and head. Jacobs will stagger back, set his feet, and respond with a right hand and wild left hook. Alvarez will land a counter left hook to the head and Jacobs will clinch, with the bell ending the round.
The crowd will be wild with anticipation going into the 8th ronde, sensing the Alvarez might be closing in on victory. Jacobs will use lateral movement while he clears his head, probing with his jab to keep Alvarez at bay. Alvarez will continue to look for the homerun punch, but Jacobs will stay out of range for the duration.

Harrison and Charlo’s first encounter took place live on FOX in December as Harrison earned the decision and upset Charlo to earn the title. The close nature of the bout helped warrant an immediate rematch that promises to be just as highly charged and dramatic.

Harrison (28-2, 21 KO) has proven to be “Detroit tough” during a boxing career inspired by early years trained and managed by the late Emanuel Steward. He had to climb back into title contention twice before reaching the top with his unanimous decision victory over Charlo last December.
Harrison was on track for a title shot before suffering the first loss of his career in 2015 to Willie Nelson. After three-straight wins, he earned a shot at the vacant 154-pound title against Jarrett Hurd. Although Harrison had strong moments in the fight, he eventually lost to Hurd and was forced to again climb to the top. After another three victories, including a win over former champion Ishe Smith, Harrison took advantage of his second world title opportunity against Charlo.
“Being a world champion now, I’m excited to defend my title for the first time in this rematch that everyone is looking forward to,” Said Harrison. “I think there’s actually more pressure on Charlo, just like last time. It’s just a blessing for me to be fighting on FOX and FOX Deportes Sunday, Juni 23. Everyone is going to be tuned-in to this fight and we’re going to bring the action to Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, the capital of the boxing world. I plan on doing the exact same thing to Jermell that I did in December. I’m going to get the win, and then I don’t want to hear any more crying or excuses.”
The 28-year-old Charlo (31-1, 15 KO) suffered the first setback of his career with the close unanimous decision loss to Harrison. Uitvechten van Houston, Texas, Charlo won the vacant WBC title with a devastating knockout victory over John Jackson in 2016. He made three successful defenses of the title with highlight-reel knockouts over Charles Hatley and Erickson Lubin, plus a majority decision win over former champion Austin Trout.
Charlo is trained in Dallas by Derrick James, who was recognized as the 2017 Trainer of the Year by Yahoo Sports and also works with welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. Charlo is one-minute younger than his identical twin brother, Jermall, who is the WBC interim middleweight champion and a former 154-pound champion.
“I am in a ruthless state of mind. I am upset and this upcoming fight, I am going to give it 110 procent,” Said Charlo. “I am way hungrier now than I was before. I am not desperate for a win because I know how to win. The judges gave me a bad decision because I didn’t get the knockout, but you don’t have to knock everybody out to beat them. He knows he didn’t beat me. He knows exactly what happened. He knows he can’t beat me. If I have to go in there and prove it again, I will.”
Rigondeaux (18-1, 12 KO) will look to show off the masterful technical skills that made him a unified world champion and perennial member of the pound-for-pound list when he steps into the ring on June 23. A two-time Olympic gold medalist for his native Cuba, Rigondeaux made his name with victories over the likes of Nonito Donaire, Rico Ramos and Joseph Agbeko. The 38-year-old most recently knocked out Giovanni Delgado in January on FS1.
Fighting out of Tlalnepantla, Mexico, Wenkbrauw (32-3, 28 KO) won an interim world title at super bantamweight in 2015 by stopping Hugo Ruiz in the fifth-round. The 26-year-old would lose the full title to Ruiz in their rematch in 2016, but has won two of three fights since, including a knockout of Anselmo Moreno.

I wanted to come to American and make by father proud. I retired from the pros) undefeated and make a lot money. I’m honored today. I had a great manager, Stan Hoffman, who is a man who made us men. Standing here today is a dream.”
John McKaie: “I have a great job and to be honored for something I really love doing is a great honor. I’d like to thank various commissions for licensing me, but New York is my home. I’d like to thank all the boxers because it’s been a pleasure judging them.”

Monte Barrett: “Congratulations to everybody up here. There’s so much history in this room. I’ve been in boxing 18 years and have a select memory, but there have been so many amazing experiences and accomplishments. I love this guy (trainer Jimmy Glenn). A lot of managers don’t even ask how you’re doing. My manager was the great Stan Hoffman. He gave me $50,000, $3000 a month and another $1000 for insurance without a contract. Stan said: ‘How you doing? I believe in you and love you.’ In 2005, I was having an argument with Don King about money. Hij zei, ‘Life is a negotiation.’ Goed, I’m negotiating now, and I’m in the Hall of Fame.”

Arthur Mercante, Jr.: “What a great honor it is to be recognized by Ring 8 and the boxing community. In 2012, my dad was inducted into the New York Boxing Hall of Fame Now he’s looking down today and he’s so proud. I entered the Golden Gloves at the age of 17. Un the quarterfinals I lost to a great fighter and Hall of Famer, Juan LaPorte. Like any boxer, I thought that I had won, and wanted aa rematch. My father told me I didn’t like road work and just lost a three-round fight. He asked if I’d like to be a referee. Ik begon in 1979 and my father made me work five years before turning pro. I went on to ref so many great fights, including one on the same card with my father at Radio City Music Hall. My greatest fight was Lennox Lewis versus Evander Holyfield.”

One of our three offices was at 30 Rockefeller Center overlooking this great city. New York is a great city and stayed, so good they named it twice, New York, New York. Murphys Boxing kondigt met trots aan dat de volgende ontvanger van de Code Award Krijger zal New England bokslegende zijn, ‘Iceman’ John Scully.
The Hartford, Connecticut gebaseerd Scully was een van de meest populaire vechters in het gebied in de jaren 1990 en hij ging 38-11 in een professionele carrière in het licht zwaargewicht divisie die een uitdaging voor de wereld titel tegen Henry Maske in Duitsland opgenomen.
Na zijn professionele carrière, ‘Iceman’ is beroemd geworden bellen heruitzendingen van vecht voor ESPN Classic evenals het schrijven van een populaire column in het Britse tijdschrift, Boksen Nieuws.
Echter Scully heeft zijn meeste successen geboekt als trainer zijn belangrijk bij het nemen vechters zoals Jose Antonio Rivera en Chad Dawson naar wereldtitels.
Scully is nu een co-trainer van de Russische, nu in Canada gevestigde, ongeslagen licht zwaargewicht wereldkampioen, Artur Beterbiev, die verdedigt zijn titel deze zaterdag in Californië live op ESPN.
Naast zijn werk als trainer heeft hij een hartstochtelijk pleitbezorger en voorvechter voor de rechten en goed geweest zijn van de gepensioneerde strijders.
“Ik ben zeer vereerd met deze erkenning te krijgen en ik waardeer Murphys Boxing voor het denken van mij.”, zegt 51 jaar oud Connecticut inwoner.
“Het is vooral bijzonder omdat het zal komen in de stad van Springfield, waar ik de meerderheid van mijn amateur-boksen carrière opleiding aan de oude Central City Gym doorgebracht op de X onder Coach John Tynan. Ik kijk uit naar een geweldige avond.”
Murphys Boksen oprichter, Ken Casey verklaart het besluit van de promotie om Scully te noemen als de nieuwste ontvanger van de award vernoemd naar een van de Dropkick Murphy's signature songs, “The Warrior van de Code” dat is een eerbetoon aan een ander New England boksen held, Micky Ward.
“John Scully is de belichaming van de Warrior's Code Award.”, zegt Casey.
“John's carrière in het boksen, dat het een wereld klasse vechter om zijn werk als analist voor zijn succes als trainer, inspirerend. Het toont jonge strijders is er gelegenheid voor hen in de sport na hun in de ring carrière voorbij. Door terug te geven als trainer en mentor, Hij vertegenwoordigt ook de brug uit het verleden boksen geschiedenis van New England tot heden. Murphys Boksen is vereerd om te erkennen en te vieren vele successen John Scully's in de sport.”
Scully zal de derde ontvanger van de award dit jaar opgericht door Murphys Boxing om die strijders die hebben bijgedragen aan de rijke en gevarieerde geschiedenis van het boksen in New England te vieren. scully sluit zich aan 2019 International Hall of Fame Inductee, Tony DeMarco en ingericht Massachusetts’ amateur, Mike D'Light bulb die de eerste onderscheidingen ontvangen eindelijk evenement Murphys Boxing in Melrose, Massachusetts afgelopen maart.
De presentatie van Code Award Murphys Boxing Warrior's vindt plaats tijdens Murphys Boxing UFC Fight Pass debuut evenement volgende week vrijdag, 10 mei die NABA Super vedergewicht Kampioen kenmerkt, Abraham Nova (14-0, 10 KO) vs. Mario Ezequiel Lozano Sayal (18-2-1, 9 KO) in de 10 ronde belangrijkste gebeurtenis, evenals een verpakt undercard van ongeslagen strijders uit de Murphys Boxing stabiele waaronder WBC Zuid-Amerikaanse middengewicht kampioen, Carlos Gongora (15-0, 12 KO), NABF Jr. Super vedergewicht Kampioen, William Foster III (9-0, 6 KO), Venezolaanse Olympian, Arcon Luis Diaz (6-0, 6 KO), Boston gebaseerde amateur opvallende, James Perella (2-0, 2 KO) en meer.
