The RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS event is part of the 40th Nayarit National Festival, which is celebrated between March 10 en 27. The festival displays the cultural identity of Nayarit, like the Indigenous community, also providing entertainment by offering regional artists at national and international events. The four 19-year-old Mexican fighters have a combined pro record of 24-0 (15 KO): lightweights Jorge “Jorgito” Lugo Cota (7-0, 5 KO) and Marco Cota Moreno (5-0, 4 KO), as well as twin Tepic brothers, featherweight Hector “Tigre” Perez Cruz (6-0, 5 KO) and super featherweight Paolo “Leon” Perez Cruz (6-0, 5 KO).

The Mexican quartet had an incredible 470-24 amateur-record: Lugo (155-15), Moreno (146-4), Paul (86-2) and Hector (83-3) Kruis.

“These young men are the future of boxing in Mexico,” RJJ Boxing’s veteran matchmaker Guy Taylor said. “I have never had four undefeated boxers with nearly 500 combined amateur victories, all under the age of 20, fighting on the same card as this.”

Cota, who has become a semi-regular fighting on RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS shows, is matched against Ricardo “Palmito” Badillo Rodriguez (7-2-2, 1 KO), van Tepic, in a 6-round match. Cota is the youngest member of the famed Mexican fightin’ Montiel family, led by 3-division world champion Fernando Montiel.

Moreno was a decorated amateur boxer who captured five-Sonora State championship titles. He will meet Jonathan Zuniga (6-3, 3 KO) in a 4-round fight.

LAS VEGAS (Januari 27, 2022) — The semifinals of the World Cup Boxing Series’ (WCBS) inaugural “4-Man Lightweight Tournament,” presented by Roy Jones Jr. (RJJ) Boksen Promotions, has the potential to have two instant classics on February 24th.

De World Boxing Council (WBC) has sanctioned the WCBS’ “4-Man lightweight Tournament,” created by CEO Terry Hollan and matchmaker Guy Taylor, and the winner will be crowned the WBC Latino Lightweight Champion, as well as positioned in the WBC’s top 15 ratings.


The WCBS “4-Man Tournament” semifinals matchups are Luis “Koreano” Torres (14-0, 9 KO) vs. Rodolfo “Rudy” Flores (14-5, 6 KO), Isai “Gaga” Hernandez (11-2-2, 7 KO) vs. Irving “Poderoso” Castillo (11-2, 7 KO).


Semifinal’s action will be contested in 8-round bouts, 10 rounds for the championship final. The WCBS will also feature one “overtime” round, indien nodig, to declare a winner in the event of a draw upon the conclusion of the scheduled distance.


WCBS will also be offering a “Fight of the Night” and “Knockout” bonuses to each contestant through the duration of its “4-Man Lightweight Tournament.”

The 26-year-old Flores has impressive victories against Jesus Acosta Zazueta (16-5-2) and Jairo Lopez (18-5).


“It’s very important for me to be fighting in this tournament,” Flores noted. “I want to thank the WCBS and WBC for the opportunity to be part of their tournament. I know my opponent is a southpaw, but I really don’t care to know much about him. He has very good skills but that doesn’t bother me at all.


“I like to box on the outside, keep my distance, and control the pace. I think this fight is going to be a war! I am very excited for this match-up and I hope Torres is ready for a fight. I will win this fight by decision.”

Venezuelan knockout artist Fradimil Macayo (15-1, 13 KO) faces unbeaten Mexican fighter Armando Ramirez (5-0-1,2 KO) in een wedstrijd van 8 ronden.

The heavy-handed Dominguez, who is a former NABF Welterweight Champion and past No. 15-rated in the world, stopped former WBA World title challenger Jesus “Chino” Antonio Rubio (13-4, 7 KO) for the vacant WBC Latino strap in the October 15th main event in Mexico. It was Dominguez’ only fight in nearly a year because he needed to give his body a break. Dominguez improved to 5-0 (4 KO) fighting career-wise on RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS.

The 22-year-old Williams, fighting out of Fayetteville, Noord Carolina, is trained by living legend Roy Jones, Jr. Last March in Biloxi, Mississippi, Williams defeated Starr Johnson, who couldn’t continue after the opening round. Williams improved to 2-0 (2 KO) on RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS.

“Santiago is a throwback Mexican fighter, who stands 5’ 8” and was born in Ciudad Obregon Sonora, Mexico, just like his hero, the great Julio Cesar Chavez, Sr.,” Taylor added. “Williams, Jr. is a flashy, fast-footed boxer with lightning-quick hands who stands 6’ 1”. Newman, whose 4-right win streak was snapped in his most recent fight, last February in Las Vegas to Geno Pilana by way of a close 10-round decision 96-94 X 3), is anxious to showcase his improvements working under the guidance of Jones.

(Februari 26, 2020) - Ongeslagen World Boxing Council (WBC) Jeugdwereldkampioen lichtgewichtJamaine "The Technician" Ortiz (12-0, 6 KO) is van plan om aanstaande vrijdag een belangrijke verklaring af te leggen als hij thuis in Worcester vecht, Massachusetts, voor het eerst als professionele bokser.
