WBC CARES AND FEET FIRST FOUNDATION UNITE

“NOUS ENSEIGNONS LE PERSONNAGE À TRAVERS L'ART DE LA BOXE TEXTBOOK”
NEW YORK, New York (Octobre 19, 2020) - Le Fondation Feet First est heureux d'annoncer un partenariat de collaboration avec le «WBC Cares»organisation, un programme de sensibilisation communautaire formé par le World Boxing Council en 2006. Les deux parties se sont associées pour souligner le pouvoir transformateur de la boxe, et comment la formation à la boxe peut aider à améliorer la vie de nombreux élèves dans les écoles du monde entier.

En partenariat avec WBC Cares, la Fondation Feet First, qui a déjà eu plus 10,000 les étudiants suivent leur programme, vise maintenant à étendre son programme à l'échelle nationale comme un moyen de soutien pour les écoles du monde entier. La Feet First Foundation a réussi à mettre en œuvre un programme basé sur des données qui utilise des exercices de boxe et des discussions de groupe pour inspirer un fort caractère à ces écoliers..
Fondée dans l'état de Californie à 2017, la Fondation Feet First sous la direction de co-fondateurs Dan Dorsett, Sean Sharkey, Zach Micheletti et Brandon Kregel, a amélioré la vie de milliers d'étudiants et d'adultes. En plus de promouvoir un mode de vie sain qui intègre des exercices de boxe disciplinés, le programme Feet First encourage également les sujets de discussion de groupe autour de la persévérance, responsabilité, et respect.


«Ça fait du bien de travailler avec un objectif commun d'aider les autres à travers l'art de la boxe, et nous sommes fiers de faire équipe avec une organisation de premier ordre comme le WBC Cares,”A déclaré le co-fondateur Sean Sharkey. «Notre objectif est d'incorporer ce programme dans les écoles du monde entier et nous pensons que notre partenariat avec le WBC Cares élargira mieux notre mission pour l'amélioration des élèves du monde entier.»


Le World Boxing Council a couronné un éventail de certains des champions du monde les plus célèbres, dont plusieurs continuent d'être des noms familiers à ce jour. Ceux-ci inclus Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, Mike Tyson,Julio Cesar Chavez, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, et Manny Pacquiao pour ne en nommer que quelques-uns.

Omar a contribué à sa communauté à Brownsville, Texas depuis l'âge de 16 ans grâce à des discours de motivation à plus 35,000 étudiants dans plus de 20 campus. Il est également l'invité d'honneur annuel de «Une nuit pour briller», un événement de style bal organisé pour les enfants ayant des besoins spéciaux chaque mars, sponsorisé par Brownsville «À la frontière» et la reconnaissance nationale «Fondation Tim Tebow".
Omar Juarez incarne le caractère fort que Feet First Foundation et WBC Cares cherchent à reproduire dans le monde entier, et les deux organisations attendent avec impatience un avenir en aidant autant d'enfants que possible.

Boxing For The World 5K Run a Success in Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico (Juillet 30, 2018) – Dimanche dernier (22 juillet) à Caguas, Puerto Rico, Boxing For The World staged a 5K run, which served as a fundraiser for The Make A Wish Foundation of Puerto Rico facility . The facility (maison) houses children with Cancer and other terminal illnesses. The facility sustained major damages due to Hurricane Maria .

 

 

 

The main sponsor was the WBC and their WBC Cares program.

 

 

 

No less than 20 of the greatest fighters in Puerto Rico took part in the walk such as:

 

 

 

Tito Trinidad, Juanma Lopez, Jean “Iron Boy” Calderón, Orlando “El fenomeno” Croix, Alex ” El Nene” Sanchez, Daniel “Pipino” Alicea, Daniel Santos, Victor “Luvy” Calleja, Josue Dickie Camacho, Nelson ” El Fueguete” Dieppa, Mac Williams, Ange ” La Abispa” Chacon, Samuel Serrano, Alfred “Salsero” Escalier, Ange “Cholo” Espada, Andy ” El Huracan” Agosto, Jésus Rojas, Manny Maldonado (olimpico), Aristides Gonzalez and John John Molina.

 

 

 

Also on hand was Trinidad’s mother, Dona Irma, who served over a 1000 bowls of her famous chicken broth.

 

 

 

Mercedes Simmons, who is a board member for Boxing For The World as well as the CEO of Pretty Girl Promotions was ecstatic about the turnout for the great event.

 

 

 

“We are so happy that the legends of Puerto Rico boxing came out to support this very important cause. The building is vital for those children in need, and we are on our way to rehabbing the facility after the terrible damage it sustained during the hurricane. The WBC really came through, and really was a huge help to this fundraiser.” said Simmons.

 

 

 

“WBC did a great thing. I informed them that Daniel Alicea’s WBC Continental belt and NABF belt were stolen from him house while he was undergoing chemotherapy. When I approached Mauricio Sulaiman and Jill Diamond from the WBC, without hesitation they agreed to redo the belts and also sponsor the 5k”

 

 

 

 

“The first edition of Boxing for the World 5k, a project of I am Working for the World Foundation exceeded our expectations,” said Abner DiSilva, President of I’m Working for the World Foundation. “For the first time in Puerto Rico’s history we were able to unite boxing legends under one roof for a great cause . These boxing icons changed their boxing gloves for sneakers and ran/walked to help those in need. This is the beginning of our new model, to maximize their reach to bring awareness to humanitarian needs not only in the island but in the entire world. Everyone should do their part, not just with words but with actions. We’re grateful for overwhelming support and we hope more Athletes and people join our movement. JILL DIAMOND TO RECEIVE RAGING BABE LUMINARY AWARD

Diamond to be honored at Raging Babe Brunch: Shine Bright on 16 septembre

LAS VEGAS – Août 8, 2017 – Sur 16 septembre, on the morning of boxing’s next mega-fight, Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkine, boxing’s “Babes enragés” will gather at Mandalay Bay to celebrate and honor WBC Cares Chair and Journalist Jill Diamond at the Raging Babe Brunch, doublé “Shine Bright.” Diamond joins an exclusive group of women who have received the award – a group that includes promoters, journalists and executives who blazed the trail for other women in the boxing industry.
A WBC/NABF Official and Supervisor, Diamond has devoted her life to boxing, a passion that was ignited by her father-in-law, Clyde “The Texas Tornado” Chastain, and cultivated over years of service and volunteerism. Diamond is the International Chair of WBC Cares, a program that assists impoverished children in 165 pays à travers le monde. She is also the Director of World Champions for Hope, an organization that encourages professional athletes to mentor young talent, and awards scholarships. Plus tôt cette année, the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame honored Diamond with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Diamond has championed women in boxing since she first walked into a boxing gym in 2005. She originally joined the gym to raise her spirts after her husband’s passing, but it quickly became clear she’s found her calling in elevating women in and outside the ring, in a sport long-dominated by men. After realizing she rarely heard of female boxers competing, Diamond reached out to then WBC President, Jose Suliaman, asking why there were no female boxing champions. Diamond was surprised to receive an invitation from Suliaman to that year’s WBC Convention in Spain, and was even more surprised to learn, on her arrival, that she was named in the Convention program as a member of the Women’s Championship Committee. In that same year, WBC’s profile began to elevate, and it sanctioned the very first Women’s Championship bout. Other sanctioning bodies followed suit. It was just the beginning of what’s been more than a 20 year tenure in the sport for Diamond.
“It’s a terrific honor,” said Diamond of being slated to receive the Raging Babe Luminary Award. “It’s also a real giggle, because events like this one show how far women in boxing have come. When I began working in boxing in 2005, there weren’t many women in the business. In any industry, when the pie is so small, people fight for crumbs. The fact that events like this exist, and that women are now supporting and opening doors for each other, shows how much women’s roles in boxing have evolved.” Diamond continued, “To be honored by other women means the world to me. It warms my heart.”
“It’s such an honor that Jill agreed to be honored at this year’s brunch,” said Raging Babe founder Michelle Rosado. “She has dedicated her life to boxing, and specifically furthering the interests of women in boxing, and has devoted herself to service of others. She truly thrives on her passion, and all of boxing is better for it. She sets such a great example for women and men entering the business. I’m very excited to honor her on 16 septembre.”
Proceeds from the brunch, which will be held at Mandalay Bay’s Border Grill, will benefit the Prichard Colon Foundation, which helps cover the exorbitant medical and insurance costs for the young fighter who suffered a brain injury in 2015. 50-AGE “BRONCO” BILLY WRIGHT COMPLET 500 MILE TREK POUR LA CHARITÉ

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (Avril 22, 2015) – Après une randonnée remarquable 500 miles de Las Vegas, Nevada à Phoenix, Arizona, 50-prétendant poids lourd de l'année (WBC #17), Bronco Billy Wright (47-4, 38 KOs), a un message à envoyer à la communauté de la boxe et à la division des poids lourds.

 

“j'ai fait ça 500 mile “Trek pour les cures”, Cours, Marchez et roulez pour aider à amasser des fonds pour des organismes de bienfaisance qui me tiennent à cœur,” dit Bronco Billy Wright. “En plus je voulais envoyer un message à la division poids lourds, laisser tout le monde classé dans le top WBC 15 sachez que je suis un athlète sérieux venant pour leur classement. Mon prochain combat sera annoncé sous peu, et mon objectif est d'éliminer tout le monde sur mon chemin. Je ne pense pas qu'il y ait un poids lourd qui puisse gérer mon pouvoir. Je tiens humblement à remercier le WBC Cares et tous ceux qui m'ont soutenu pendant ce voyage.

 

Le trek s'est terminé au Central Boxing Club au centre-ville de Phoenix, où Bronco Billy a été accueilli par ses membres, qui comprenait le super-léger invaincu Jose Benavidez Jr. (22-0, 15 KOs) entre autres.

 

“Les combattants et les entraîneurs du Central Boxing Club ont eu la gentillesse de me laisser terminer ma randonnée dans leur salle de sport et c'était fantastique.” Bronco Billy Wright a continué. “Il y avait des caméras de télévision locales pour parler de mon histoire. Ce fut un grand succès et je suis prêt à commencer ma marche vers le championnat du monde des poids lourds.”

 

Billy détient actuellement le WBC LATIN AMERICAN, Fecarbox , et États-Unis (USNBC) Titres Argent. En ce moment, Bronco Billy mène une séquence de 18 combats consécutifs à élimination directe, 14 dont est venu par KO au premier tour.
