MILITARY VETERANS TO FEATURE PROMINENTLY ON NEF 24 PRO MMA CARD

Lewiston, Maine (Mai 30, 2016) - Combats Nouvelle-Angleterre (NEF) présente “NEF 24: TERRE PROMISE” at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston on Juin 18, 2016. Micro “La Moustache” Hansen (4-4) will compete in a heavyweight bout while CJ Aiguière (1-0) will see action in the welterweight division.

 

Mike Hansen won two state wrestling championships competing for Mountain Valley High School (MVHS) in Rumford, Maine. Shortly after graduation, Hansen began training in MMA and made his debut in the sport in 2005. He would, cependant, put his MMA career on the backburner for the next decade to enlist and serve his country as a combat engineer in the United States Army. After retiring from the Army, Hansen returned to Maine and opened Berserkers MMA in Rumford, where he trains other MVHS alum to compete in the NEF cage. “I hope he’s been training, ’cause I’ve been active starting this year,” said Hansen. “I’m looking for a win coming off my last fight. I will find his weaknesses and exploit them. Hyannis, Massachusetts (Mai 15, 2016) - Combats Nouvelle-Angleterre (NEF), Numéro un la promotion de la lutte régionale de l'Amérique, held its most recent event, “NEF 23: CAGE THE CAPE” on Saturday night at the Hyannis Youth & Community Center (HYCC) in Hyannis, Massachusetts. The HYCC was at capacity for the first sanctioned mixed-martial-arts (MMA) show ever held on Cape Cod. The venue opened the upstairs walking track to give standing-room-only fans more elbow room. The crowd was electric all night for the eight-fight card presented by NEF.

 

Team Juniko, based out of Hyannis and Hanover, Massachusetts, was a perfect 5-0 Deux autres rebuts amateurs ont produit des finitions de premier tour.. It was O’Hearn’s bout with Angela Jeune (1-2) of Young’s MMA in Bangor, Maine that will be remembered for years to come by all in attendance. The two women battled back and forth for three grueling rounds before O’Hearn was declared the winner by unanimous decision on the judges’ tableaux de bord. The fight will be a serious contender for “Combat de l'Année” in the northeast by the time 2016 comes to an end.

 

Team Juniko member Brendan Battles (1-0) was victorious in the main event of the evening via technical knockout over Mike Hansen (4-4). The bout was the pro debut for the native of Eastham, Massachusetts and standout wrestler from Nauset Regional High School. Battles rebounded from an early flurry by Hansen to get the referee stoppage at 1:46 de la première ronde.

Weigh-ins are open to the public. NEF CAGES THE CAPE ON MAY 14 WITH THRILLING FIGHT CARD

Hyannis, Massachusetts (Mai 6, 2016) – It will be no day at the beach, but they might just leave some blood on the sand. Combats Nouvelle-Angleterre (NEF) plans to storm Cape Cod on Samedi, Mai 14, 2016 with the first-ever mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event to be held on the popular tourist destination. The northeast’s top regional fight promotion will pack up its cage in one week and make the 200-mile trek south from NEF’s base of operations in Lewiston, Maine to the Hyannis Youth & Community Center (HYCC).

 

The attention the event has received has been staggering. “The Cape Cod community has welcomed us with open arms,” ladite NEF co-propriétaire et promoteur Nick DiSalvo. “The HYCC is a great venue with an awesome staff. Patti Lloyd at the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce has been a huge help in making this event happen as well. And we have some fantastic new sponsors on the Cape like Bodystrong Fitness who have helped us spread the word.”

 

En Effet, the word has spread and ticket sales have been so strong, and demand so overwhelming, that the promotion had to order more chairs and tickets when cageside inventory sold out last week. “The fans were asking us to add some more cageside seats, so we happily accommodated them,” noted DiSalvo.

 

And fight fans in attendance will be treated to a night filled with wild cage action. The card is stacked with world class wrestlers and martial artists from Maine, Cape Cod and Massachusetts’ South Shore. Hyannis-based Team Juniko will be prominently featured in no less than six of the evening’s bouts.

 

Brendan “Lock Down” Battles (0-0) of Juniko is scheduled to make his professional MMA debut in the heavyweight main event, locking horns with Micro “La Moustache” Hansen (4-3). Battles was a three-time All American wrestler out of nearby Nauset Regional High School where he won two state championships and three New England championships. Il était 2-0 as an amateur MMA fighter. Hansen has a wrestling pedigree of his own, having captured a state title for Mountain Valley High School in Rumford, Maine. Hansen is a ten-year-plus veteran of the MMA cage.

 

The co-main event of the evening will feature a rematch from “NEF 15” en Novembre 2014. “Incassable 2.0” Derek Shorey (3-6) will look to avenge a loss to Mat “Ken Doll” Denning (2-2). Shorey’s supporters have claimed for the past year-and-a-half that Denning’s submission victory was a fluke and that Denning would not be able to defeat Shorey a second time should the pair ever meet again. Those claims will be put to the test in Hyannis in this lightweight rematch.

 

“It was a short notice fight that NEF asked for, and I know Derek wanted a rematch,” a déclaré Denning. “After I beat him again, I’ll prove it wasn’t a fluke. I wanted this fight so I could get some new fans in Massachusetts and show my skills. I have had two losses in a row to great guys and want to get back in the win column.”

 

“I thought I could beat him the first time, and he caught me with an armbar,” Shorey admitted. “This time I will leave that cage the victor.”

The amateur headliner will see Dustin Veinott (4-4) in a flyweight showdown with Ryan “Razzle Dazzle” Kane (4-3). Veinott is the former NEF MMA Amateur Flyweight Champion. He dropped the title in a very close split decision loss to Ryan Burgess (2-0) Novembre dernier. Kane, from Plymouth, Massachusetts, is a member of Team Juniko and an accomplished competitor in the ancient Greek martial art of Pankration.

 

A women’s fight will be prominently featured on the amateur card. Angela Jeune (1-1) est prévue pour faire face à Kylie O’Hearn (0-0). Forlenza is a 2004 graduate of Nauset Regional High School where he was a standout on the wrestling team. Johanson’s opponent pulled out of their bout on fight day two weeks ago at “NEF 22.” Not one to let a good fight camp go to waste, Johanson agreed to take the fight with Forlenza in Hyannis.

 

In another 160-pound catchweight bout, Steve Bang (3-4) prend Fabian Miranda (2-0). Bang is a member of the famous father-sons fighting family of Auburn, Maine. Miranda represents Team Juniko and will look to add to his undefeated record in the fight with Bang.

 

Rounding out the fight card is a 190-pound catchweight bout featuring Anthony Spires (0-1) et Thomas Lee Davis (1-0). Spires, an independent fighter from Maine, hopes to rebound from a loss in his debut last fall at “NEF XX.” Davis is a member of Team Juniko.

Brendan “Lock Down” Battles (0-0) has signed to face Mike “The Mustache” Hansen (4-3) in a professional bout at a fight weight of 265-pounds.

 

Brendan Battles is a native of Eastham, Massachusetts on Cape Cod. There, he was a three-time All American wrestler for Nauset Regional High School. During his high school career, Battles captured a total of two state championships and three New England championships with an amazing 161 wins to his credit prior to graduating in 2012. A multi-sport athlete, he later played defensive end and tackle for the University of Connecticut. Battles made his NEF debut earlier this year at “NEF 21: THE IMMORTALS” when he efficiently dispatched of Mike Hansen’s Berserkers teammate, Dave Smith (2-2) in the first round via TKO ref stoppage. Battles trains out of Gracie Fitness and is a member of Team Juniko based out of Hyannis.

 

“I look forward to Mike coming down to my backyard for my first professional fight,” said Battles. “I know he is a tough fighter, but I look forward to showcasing the skills I have acquired thus far as I continue my journey to become a well-rounded MMA fighter.”

 

Mike Hansen is the founding member of Berserkers MMA based out of Rumford, Maine. He won a Maine state championship in wrestling as a heavyweight in 2004. Hansen made his MMA debut shortly after graduating from high school, only to step away from the sport for a decade in order to serve his country as a combat engineer in the United States Army. He returned to the MMA cage in 2015 as a member of the NEF roster. Hansen has become known for taking tough fights against opponents that he is generally undersized next to. Less than two weeks ago, he defeated former top-tanked amateur light heavyweight Jesse “The Barbarian” Baughman (0-2) via first round submission at “NEF 22: ALL ROADS LEAD HERE.” Always up for a challenge, Hansen requested the opportunity to face Battles in his highly anticipated professional debut.

 

“I like this fight because I get to fight in Massachusetts again,” stated Hansen. “I made my pro debut at Club Lido at the ‘Wonderland’ Blue Line stop just over a decade ago. I rode the ‘T’ from Fenway to Wonderland on August 6th, 2005 to make my debut against Eric Brown who I beat by rear naked choke at 1:27 dans le premier tour. NEW CHAMPIONS CROWNED AT NEF 22 À Lewiston

Lewiston, Maine (Avril 23, 2016) - Combats Nouvelle-Angleterre (NEF), Numéro un la promotion de la lutte régionale de l'Amérique, held its most recent event, “NEF 22: TOUS LES CHEMINS MÈNENT ICI,” Saturday night at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston, Maine. Plus que 3,000 fight fans were on hand for the event, making it one of the largest crowds ever to witness an NEF event.

 

On the boxing portion of the card, Brandon “Le Cannon” Baie (11-1-1) fought to a majority draw in a six-round contest with James Lester (10-9-1). Many of Berry’s supporters in attendance felt that he won the fight, but two of the judges had it even on the scorecards.

 

The headliner of the amateur MMA card saw Caleb salle (7-3) captured the vacant amateur featherweight title with a second-round submission of Erik Nelson (2-3). On the professional side of the MMA card, Devin Powell (6-1) took home the lightweight championship by defeating Jesse Erickson (6-5) in the first round via technical knockout.

Lewiston, Maine (Février 7, 2016) - Combats Nouvelle-Angleterre (NEF), Numéro un la promotion de la lutte régionale de l'Amérique, held its most recent event, “NEF 21: The Immortals” Samedi nuit au Colisée Androscoggin Bank de Lewiston, Maine. The Colisée was a packed house for the promotion’s second hybrid mixed-martial-arts (MMA) and professional boxing event. Fight fans were treated to a marathon evening of nonstop action featuring 26 bouts in total.

 

In the MMA main event of the evening, in what can only be described as a “Thriller en francais,” Bruce “Pretty Boy” Boyington (13-8) defeated Jon Lemke (5-4) via split decision to retain the NEF MMA Professional Lightweight Title. Boyington and Lemke battled back-and-forth for five brutal rounds in what many in attendance were calling one of the best fights in NEF history.

 

In the boxing headliner, Northeast Junior Welterweight Champion Brandon “Le Cannon” Baie (11-1) handed Tollison Lewis the first loss of his professional boxing career (2-1) with a second-round stoppage via technical knockout (OMS).

 

On the amateur MMA portion of the card, three inaugural champions were crowned. Ryan Glover (3-1) took home the light heavyweight title after defeating Mike Williams (1-1), while Johnny Crafts (4-0) captured the bantamweight strap and Ricky Dexter (5-2) won the welterweight championship.

 

NEF also announced that its next event would take place on Avril 23, 2016, once again at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston.

Plus tôt aujourd'hui,, the promotion announced that it would hold the event weigh-in this Vendredi, Février 5, 2016, à 2:00 pm EST at the Ramada Hotel & Conference Center. Weigh-ins are open to the public and free to attend. Lewiston, Maine (Août 17, 2015) - Combats Nouvelle-Angleterre (NEF), Numéro un la promotion de la lutte régionale de l'Amérique, tiendra sa dix-neuvième mixtes arts martiaux (MMA) événement, “NEF XIX: RETROUVAILLES,” Samedi, Septembre 12, 2015 au Colisée Androscoggin Bank de Lewiston, Maine. En vedette sur la partie professionnelle de la carte sera un affrontement des lourds-légers entre Crowsneck Boutin (1-0) et Micro “La Moustache” Hansen (2-2). “Je traînais avec quelques copains qui ont obtenu des billets à votre (NEF) premier événement, alors je suis allé à cela et il était le plus grand chose,” rappelé Boutin. “Je me souviens de parler avec les gens et ensuite vous contacter. Je suis vraiment pas en train de faire quoi que ce soit à ce moment-. Je me sentais un peu perdu. Je me forme d'attachement à la sensation de manque. Je voulais juste faire quelque chose. Plus, Je me plaisais à combattre et débris. Je regardais toujours le sport. Je suppose que cela vient tout est venu ensemble à ce moment-là.”

 

Avec aucune formation formelle, Boutin perdrait son premier combat. Peu de temps après, Peterson a mis Boutin en contact avec l'entraîneur Jon Pinette de l'Institut Choi à Portland, Maine. Il est là que Boutin a trouvé son pied dans les arts martiaux tout en, en même temps, nouer des amitiés et des relations solides avec ses coéquipiers.

 

“L'atmosphère est assez impressionnant,” dit Boutin de l'Institut Choi. “Je ne suis jamais allé dans un endroit très longtemps toute ma vie, sauf pour ce lieu. Je ne me vois pas quitter. Il est une bonne ambiance ici. Je ai appelé Jon. Je me souviens d'être vraiment nerveux d'appeler Jon, Je pensais à cela plus tôt, mais il a été vraiment invite… Tout le monde ici a été vraiment invite, vraiment soutenir. Il ya vraiment un bon mélange de gens ici. Nous avons plus jeune au vieux. Nous avons tout le reste. Il est un endroit très acceptant d'être. Il est un excellent endroit pour former. Tout le monde obtient le long à l'intérieur et l'extérieur de la salle de gym.”

 

Boutin a pris la décision de devenir professionnel plus tôt cette année après avoir participé à un total de 13 combats amateurs. Il irait à l'encontre MMA Athletix entraîneur-chef Ryan Colette (2-3) à ses débuts. Ce faisant,, Boutin a gagné une mesure de vengeance comme cela avait été le protégé de Colette Brent Dillingham (1-1) qui avait remis Boutin sa première défaite en amateur débuts de Boutin “NEF III.” Boutin dit qu'il n'y avait vraiment aucune animosité entre lui et Colette, mais l'échange post-combat entre Boutin et Dillingham au “NEF III” en 2012 est toujours dans le dos de son esprit. Il admet qu'il aimerait un match revanche avec Dillingham dans un proche avenir.

 

“Autant que Brent va Dillingham, il est quelqu'un que je voudrais vraiment se battre bientôt au 205 si il peut mettre en forme et il me rencontrer,” Boutin a déclaré. “Je serais ravi d'avoir ce combat très bientôt.”

 

Boutin aura fort à faire pour lui avec Hansen sur Septembre 12 à Lewiston. Hansen est un lutteur accompli, après avoir remporté un championnat de l'état pour le lycée Mountain Valley à Rumford, Maine 2004. Boutin, cependant, est confiant en ses propres capacités à la fois debout et sur le tapis.
