LAS VEGAS (Décembre 17, 2018) – Deux-division champion du monde Badou Jack will battle unbeaten top-rated contender Marcus Browne for the WBA Interim Light Heavyweight Title Saturday, Janvier 19 on the Manny Pacquiao vs. Adrien Broner SHOWTIME PPV® event from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The pay-per-view undercard will also see former world champion Rau'shee Warren affronter la France Nordine Oubaali for the vacant WBC Bantamweight World Championship in a rematch of their 2012 Olympic match up that was edged by Oubaali. Jack (22-1-3, 13 KOs) has fought twice at light heavyweight since relinquishing his super middleweight world title to campaign at 175 livres. The 35-year-old, who was born in Stockholm, Suède, represented his father’s Gambia in the 2008 Olympics and now lives in Las Vegas. Jack won the super middleweight world title with a majority decision against Anthony Dirrell in 2015 and successfully defended the title three times before he relinquished the belt following a hard-fought majority draw against James DeGale in one 2017’s best fights. In his first bout at 175 livres, Jack stopped Nathan Cleverly to pick up the WBA light heavyweight title before fighting to a majority draw against Adonis Stevenson in his last fight on May 19.

“I’m looking forward to getting back onto another big stage to perform for my fans across the globe and prove I am one of the best fighters in the world,” said Jack. “I plan to show off my skills with a dominating performance on January 19. I always want to fight the best, and he’s the best that’s available right now. I’m always 100 percent ready and I’m going into this fight stronger, faster and with more experience than ever before.”

Browne-28 ans (22-0, 16 KOs) will be taking a step up to face an elite opponent when he battles Jack. Garenne (16-2, 4 KOs) is looking to return to the world championship ranks with a victory over Oubaali. The 31-year-old became the first three-time Olympic boxer from the U.S. when he qualified for consecutive Olympic teams in 2004, 2008 et 2012. His Olympic run came to an end against Oubaali when he lost a narrow 19-18 decision in the first round of the 2012 London Games. A southpaw from Cincinnati, Ohio, Warren won the WBA Bantamweight World Championship with a majority decision over Juan Carlos Payano in 2016 and lost the title the next year to Zhanat Zhakiyanov by split-decision.

“This fight means everything for me and it’s about to be the biggest moment of my career,” Warren said. “Not only am I fighting for the WBC belt, but it’s on pay-per-view. When I first won the title it was like winning the gold medal at the Olympics. After I lost the title, it made me much hungrier and I want to get it back even more. I fought this guy in the Olympics, so I’m fighting for revenge. This isn’t the Olympics. This is 12 rounds and I don’t think he’s fought anybody like me. I have no choice but to put it all on the line on January 19.”

The 32-year-old Oubaali (14-0, 11 KOs), an unbeaten southpaw from Lens, Pas-de-Calais, France, has knocked out his last five opponents. His most recent KO of Luis Melendez on April 17 moved Oubaali up the ranks to position him for a world title shot. Oubaali, who is the sixth of 18 children born in France to parents who are from Morocco, twice represented France at the Olympics, qualifying in 2008 et 2012 when he defeated Warren.

“Many people are waiting for this fight because it’s the second time we meet,” said Oubaali.”I beat Rau’shee Warren at the 2012 London Games in a great battle. In the meantime, Rau’shee captured a world championship and lost it. Maintenant, I’m the WBC No. 1 ranked bantamweight fighter in the world. It will be a great fight in Las Vegas on January 19 and I intend to beat Rau’shee again to become the new WBC world champion.”

The 25-year-old Tepora (22-0, 17 KOs) has steadily risen up the ranks since turning pro in 2012 and most recently captured the WBA interim featherweight crown with a ninth-round stoppage of Edivaldo Ortega in July. Representing Cebu City, Philippines, Tepora enters his U.S. debut on January 19 with stoppage wins in 11 de son dernier 12 concours.

Fighting out of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexique, Ruiz (38-4, 33 KOs) will make his featherweight debut on January 19 after picking up two victories in 2018. The 30-year-old won a super bantamweight world title with a first round stoppage of Julio Ceja in 2016, avenging his previous loss to Ceja in one of 2015’s most exciting fights. He now seeks to position himself for a world title at 126 pounds with a victory against Tepora.

“I expect it to be a good fight because Tepora is undefeated and a good Filipino champion,” dit Ruiz. “But I’m ready. I don’t think he can handle my power. Je vais l'assommer. Manny Pacquiao:

“This fight is going to be a good fight. I have to pass through him before fighting Floyd Mayweather. I want to prove to the boxing fans that Manny Pacquiao is still in the pack. You will see more fights with Manny Pacquiao here in the United States.

“He’s young and he’s fast – and he’s fast with his mouth. There will be more action in the ring – we know what the people want. It’s going to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see a fight you will never forget.

“I continue my career as a boxer because boxing is my passion. When I hung up my gloves once, I felt sad not being in the ring and giving inspiration to people in the Philippines and boxing fans.”

On potentially fighting Floyd Mayweather again:

“I don’t think Adrien will agree with that, because I need to pass through him. This is not an easy fight.”

On working with Al Haymon:

“I have only good things to say about Top Rank – they helped me a lot. But I’m really thankful to be partnered with Al Haymon and have a chance to work with him.”

"[Broner’s] a funny guy. I think after his boxing career, he could have another career as a comedian. I don’t get upset about the jokes. I can’t help but laugh when I look at his face.”

Will the Mayweather rematch be next?

“I can’t give you an answer, but if you ask me, it would be good for me to have that fight.”

“Il m'a fallu environ 30 secondes pour décider de prendre ce combat. Lorsque vous savez pourquoi vous vous battez, il prend ces décisions faciles.

“Il ya un an il y avait pas moyen que je pensais que je serais sur cette scène. Maintenant, je dois réelles opportunités et nous sommes ici maintenant.

“Victoire, perdre ou dessiner, Je vais retourner à la salle de gym de la semaine prochaine.

“Je suis un combattant de pression. Je tiens à engager et donner aux fans ce qu'ils veulent voir. Ceci est une grande opportunité. Samedi va être amusant.”

RANCES Barthélemy

“Je me sens bien le déplacement en masse. Tout le monde sait Antonio DeMarco est un très, combattant très dur. Il est l'un des meilleurs que je l'ai jamais combattu. Son record qui il a fait face prouve que. Il est connu, mais moi aussi.

“Je veux être le meilleur combattant cubain de tous les temps et je suis sur mon chemin.

“Je suis en pleine forme extraordinaire et je suis prêt à aller. Je tiens à présenter mes compétences le dimanche pour montrer au monde comment je peux battre.

“Qui dois-je veux me battre? Je vais me battre n'importe qui ils ont mis à ma façon. Je vais me battre Godzilla si il est là.

“Je ne fais pas des prédictions, mais cela va être un combat divertissant. Contrairement combattants cubains dernières, Je dois pouvoir et peux frapper les gens. Dans les amateurs, vous ne devez pas le pouvoir. Mais chez les pros, qui est ce qu'il est tout au sujet.”

ANTONIO DEMARCO

“Cela va être un combat difficile, un combat difficile, mais je dois une grande responsabilité. Mes 15 ans sœur m'a dit que si je gagne, elle vaincre le cancer. Elle a été diagnostiquée avec un cancer des os Novembre dernier – et il était la vie en danger. Mais son dernier traitement de chimio était hier.

Outre cela, pour ma soeur, mon autre motivation principale est que cela est une chance d'obtenir ma carrière sur les rails. “Je vais jeter beaucoup de coups de poing et il devrait être amusant de voir. Ce sera un combat divertissant. L'objectif principal est de gagner. Si l'occasion se présente pour l'assommer puis je vais. Je ne vais pas y aller en essayant de frapper sa tête ou quoi que ce soit. Je dois Smart Box.

“Dans ce jeu, il est tout au sujet de la longévité et moins vous faire frapper plus vous pouvez vous battre, donc je ne veux pas vous faire toucher. Ce est mon objectif.”

“Je ne sais vraiment pas beaucoup sur Vasquez, autre que lui est un gaucher dont la rapide, il est juste un autre combattant qui peut se battre. Mais nous pouvons tous lutter. Il est pas comme il a quatre mains et deux têtes.

“Le meilleur homme sera victorieux et je suis confiant qui est moi.

“Il est un causeur, il aime courir sa bouche, mais il est tout bon. Nous allons juste faire notre truc Samedi nuit.

 

“Cela va être un bon. Certes, un plaisir pour la foule. Ancien ou nouveau à la boxe, cela va être bon pour vous. Broner a des compétences, mais je dois compétences trop. Ça va être un magnifique combat Samedi nuit.”

“Ce fut probablement le meilleur camp de sparring je ai jamais eu. Il était un peu plus longtemps que je suis habitué à – environ huit semaines – et nous avons eu quelques grands partenaires d'entraînement. Je suis plus prêt que jamais.

 

“Les gars qui a affronté Omotoso, il a assommé, donc il a fait son travail. Il est un frappeur de puissance, donc je sais que je ne peux pas le prendre à la légère. Il a laissé tomber Jessie Vargas, mais il est pas aussi rapide d'un combattant que je suis.

 

“Il peut dire ce qu'il veut, mais il ne va pas me frapper. Voilà ce qu'il est censé dire. Tout change lorsque vous entrez dans l'anneau. Il va trouver assez rapidement qu'il n'a pas fait face à quelqu'un comme moi.

 

“Mon plan de match est de le battre et si je vois l'occasion de l'assommer puis je vais prendre.

“Mon père Pops '’ était la première personne à me prendre à la salle de boxe et qui est où nous avons rencontré l'entraîneur Mike [Stafford]. Mon père savait juste qu'il voulait que je boite et il m'a emmené à la bonne place.

 

“Tout le monde appelle mon père Pops '’ parce qu'il est comme un père pour tout le monde autour de moi – mes amis, combattants dans la salle de gym…tout le monde. Il a toujours été là 100 pour cent du temps.

 

“Mon père et moi sommes tous les deux un peu fou. Nous sommes des gens semblables. Nous sommes à la fois coupé dans un tissu différent, nous aimons nous amuser et de travailler dur. Nous mesh.

 

“Mon père vient habituellement au camp des deux dernières semaines, donc il est au gymnase tous les jours qui ont précédé les combats. Quand il est pas avec moi dans la salle de gym, il travaille sur les voitures comme mécanicien à Cincinnati.

“Mon père a toujours été là du sport à l'école et m'a aidé à travers tout cela. Il est une anomalie, car il était toujours là comme un père célibataire. Vous ne trouvez pas vraiment que trop dans la communauté afro-américaine – un père célibataire qui veut être là pour ses enfants la façon dont mon père a été là pour moi et mon frère.

 

“Chaque jour est un peu comme la fête des pères pour nous. Je veux faire de ce très mémorable et il est le premier de plusieurs à venir. Mais évidemment, Dimanche sera beaucoup mieux si je gagne.

 

“Je sens que je fais tous les jours sa journée. Il lui et je est. Son ce que nous faisons. Vous avez vos bons jours et des mauvais jours. Pour moi, être un fils et une équipe de l'athlète, ça me donne envie de réaliser à un niveau différent.”

 

ERROL SPENCE JR.

 

“Mon père m'a lancé dans la boxe. Il était un chauffeur de camion, de sorte qu'il a utilisé pour conduire la nuit, et puis il va rentrer à la maison 12:00 p.m. ou plus tard, puis me prendre à la gym. Puis, après qu'il venait de la salle de gym, il était comme 5:00 ou 6:00 p.m., et il serait reposer pendant une ou deux heures et aller directement à travailler.

 

“À l'époque, Je ne pense pas vraiment à ce sujet, mais comme je suis plus vieux et un peu plus sage, la réalisation de tous les sacrifices qu'il a sacrifié pour moi d'être en mesure de boîte et aller à tous ces tournois nationaux et tous ces tournois hors de l'état et des trucs. Il a dû payer pour l'hôtel, payer pour la nourriture et des trucs comme ça hors de la poche. Nous ne disposons pas de sponsors et des trucs comme ça.

“Je suis fier d'être nommé d'après mon père et je le remercie d'avoir cru en moi et me pousse à être le meilleur que je peux être.

 

“Il joue une grande partie de ma carrière de boxe. Il est mon partisan. Voilà mon mentor. Voilà comme mon meilleur ami. Pour la Fête des Pères, Je vais lui obtenir une victoire, et il va être une victoire impressionnante qu'il sera fier et qu'il aimera. Il a joué un grand rôle dans ma carrière. Sans lui, Je sais que je ne serais pas la boxe. Mon père sera dans mon coin Samedi nuit.”

 

RANCES Barthélemy

 

“Fête des Pères est très spécial pour moi parce que ma femme et sa fille, qui sont mon monde, me traiter comme un roi pour la journée. Être père est très important, et dans la société d'aujourd'hui, pas assez de pères sont là pour leurs enfants. Il est très bien que il ya une journée pour honorer les bons pères qui prennent soin de leurs familles.

 

“Mon père, Emilio Barthélemy, a toujours été là pour moi et mes frères. Il nous a mis dans le sport de la boxe. Quand je suis parti de Cuba, il a été très difficile pour moi parce que mon père et moi étions très proches. Je l'aime beaucoup et je tiens à lui souhaiter une bonne fête des pères ainsi.

 

“Je me souviens quand nous étions petits, moi et mes frères prendrais mon père sur le petit-déjeuner à la fête des pères. Ce fut un moment très spécial et nous avons tous apprécié le moment. Ma femme et sa fille aiment à me gâter la fête des pères. L'année dernière, ils me prenaient à mon restaurant cubain préféré et moi avons apprécié un excellent repas avec chacun d'eux.”

“Mon entraîneur Eric Brown est comme un père pour moi maintenant. Il connaît ma femme et mes enfants. Nous marchons tout le temps. Il me dit de garder la tête sur les épaules et de se concentrer.

NEW YORK (Jan. 21, 2015)-SHOWTIME Sport a recueilli une audience record pour Samedi2015 Showtime Championship Boxing première télédiffusion en vedette par World Heavyweight Champion WBC nouvellement créé Deontay Wilder dans sa victoire évasion plus Bermane Stiverne. L'événement principal se classe comme la lutte la plus haute cote sur ne importe quel réseau de prime dans le passé 12 mois alors que l'ensemble télédiffusion de trois lutte devient le plus notés sur Showtime en plus de deux ans. Le Jan. 17 télédiffusion attiré la deuxième plus grande audience depuis 2004* derrière le Miguel Cotto vs. Austin Trout événement de décembre. 2012. (*depuis Nielsen a commencé à mesurer séparément les canaux multiplex de télévision premium)

 

Victoire impressionnante de Wilder capturé une audience moyenne de 1.24 million de téléspectateurs, classé comme le quatrième combat la mieux notée sur le disque pour le réseau, avec un pic d'audience de 1.34 million de téléspectateurs.

 

Les audiences individuelles moyennes pour chacun des trois combats sur la télédiffusion se classent désormais dans le top-20 des combats les plus regardés sur Showtime depuis 2009. Citations Conférence de presse; Lundi, Jan. 19, au MGM Grand

LAS VEGAS (Jan. 19, 2015) - Deux nuits après avoir été hospitalisé à la suite de sa défaite contre challenger invaincu Deontay Wilder sur AFFICHER L'HEURE® du MGM Grand Garden Arena, Ancien champion des lourds WBC Gold Cup, son Hall of Fame promoteur, Don King, et son entraîneur, Don Maison, organisé une conférence de presse en fin de journée au MGM Grand.

 

Voici ce qu'ils avaient à dire:

 

Le promoteur Don King

 

"Nous avons appelé cette conférence de presse parce que le Bermane nous avons vu Samedi la nuit ne était pas le Bermane nous le savons tous. Deontay Wilder a fait un très bon travail; ce ne est pas une conférence de presse des excuses, il est fait de. Les médecins de l'hôpital de l'UMC a dit qu'il avait un grave cas de déshydratation. Ses muscles ne fonctionnaient pas et ils ont pensé qu'il avait du sang dans son urine, alors ils ont pris quelques tests et l'ont détenu à l'hôpital jusqu'à ce matin.

"Nous voulons saluer Deontay Wilder pour faire son travail, mais l'homme devant lui était handicapée et incapable de faire son travail, mais cela ne devrait pas rien enlever à sa victoire. Deontay effectué et fait un excellent travail. Il est regrettable, mais Bermane devra faire un autre jour. Connaître le champion que nous avons en Deontay a si bien dit qu'il va prendre sur personne, Je suis certain sans équivoque qu'il accorderait un match revanche avec l'Bermane réel que l'homme qui a été handicapé dans le ring, pas enlever la victoire qu'il avait, et la façon dont il a brillé.

"Nous louons Deontay et nous espérons qu'il peut être champion assez longtemps à l'endroit où nous pouvons avoir un match revanche de la 'retour à la gloire."

"Juste comme notre grand militaire, quand ils sont renversés, ils rentrent à nouveau. Même avec son sévère Bermane de déshydratation se tenait toujours là pour 12 tours.

"Nous tenons à remercier Richard Sturm, Président de MGM Grand divertissement et Stephen Espinoza avec Showtime Boxing pour jouer un rôle majeur dans l'obtention de ce programme ensemble. Nous applaudissons à la fois notre personnel et le personnel MGM pour faire un travail louable pour concrétiser ce projet. L'esprit de «retour à la gloire 'était élevé. Nous avons eu une grande carte avec Amir Imam dans la lutte de la nuit, se faire renverser et se relever. Tous les combats étaient exceptionnels. Ce était une bonne soirée de boxe pour les fans et ce est ce que nous sommes vraiment.

«Je ne connaissais pas la gravité de celui- Samedi nuit. Je étais en mesure de donner aux gens un bon spectacle, 12 tours de la boxe. Si je avais à refaire, je le referais. "Merci les gars pour sortir. La chose la plus importante est que Bermane est OK. Ce est ma principale préoccupation. Je ai remarqué quelque part dans la lutte, probablement autour de la troisième ou quatrième tour, quelque chose clochait. Même se il m'a dit qu'il était OK, nous le savons tous Bermane. Je ne me dérange pas de perdre un combat, mais je savais que quelque chose ne était pas juste, donc je étais très inquiet. Autour de la neuvième ou 10e tour, je pensais à arrêter le combat parce que vous ne avez pas à continuer, mais il voulait continuer à se battre.

"Vous ne avez pas vu Bermane, vous avez vu peut-être 10-15 pour cent de Bermane. Je crois vraiment et vraiment senti que ce aurait été un combat décent pour Bermane, mais durerait quatre rounds ou moins parce que sa puissance et la vitesse. Nous ne avons jamais sous-estimé lui. Nous nous sommes entraînés comme se il se battait King Kong. Je me entraîne chaque combattant comme ça, sous-estimer personne ne. Mais Samedinuit, nous avions environ 15 pour cent de Bermane.
