LOWELL, Mäss. (Februari 23, 2018) – Eleven New England champions were crowned last night during the New England Tournament of Champions at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium. Central New England snapped the Western New England’s four-year reign in team scoring to capture the covered Bill Hoar Memorial Award as Most Outstanding Team.
The New England Tournament of Champions, also known as the All-New England’s, is part of the 72nd annual New England Golden Gloves Championships.
Each individual N.E. champion qualified for Team New England, which will compete at the National Golden Gloves Championship, startande Maj 14, 2018 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Centrala N.E.. had five individual winners, edging Western NE with four, North N.E. and Southern N.E. had champion one apiece.
“There were some great fights, hotly contested because there was so much on the line,” N. Och. Executive Director Bobby Russo sa. “We closed the season in grand style with great matches and a loud, packed house that’s been the Lowell tradition for 72 år. There were some disputed decisions and the crowd let everybody know how they felt after a few of the fights.
“We have a lot of talent on this year’s Team New England. It’s a strong team with some fighters who now have national experience like Angel Gonzalez, Felix Parilla, Liz Leddy, Miguel Teo and Fernely Felix, Jr. The other fighters look like they could do very well at the National Golden Gloves.”

The Rocky Marciano Memorial Award as the Most Outstanding Heavyweight Boxer was presented to Lowell, MA’s Edmond Worley, who edged Randolph, MA’s Edit McApman, 4-1, to clinch the team title for Central New England in the second to last bout of the night.

The unofficial Fight of the Night was a toss up between lightweights Jonathan DePina och Elijah Peixoto (DePina won 3-2) och middle Michael Fontanez och Victor Reynoso (Fontanez won 3-2).
In the most anticipated match of the evening, Mansfield, MA weltervikt James Perella (SNE) defeated USA No. 5-rated and defending N.E. mästare Josniel Castro(NNE), by way of a controversial 5-0 unanimous yet very closely contested decision that drew the wrath of the disapproving crown.
USA No. 7 rated light heavyweight Miguel Teo (CNE), of Marlboro, MA, took a unanimous 5-0 decision versus Rashane Doyle (SNE), Boston.
In a N.E. super heavyweight rematch, Danbury, CT’s Fernely Felix, Jr. (Göra) repeated by the same score las last year, 3-2, against Providence’s Tim Hatfield(SNE), for his third straight N.E. titel.
In women’s competition, Portland, ME lightweight Liz Leddy (NNE) captured her seventh N.E. women’s title, taking a unanimous 5-0 decision over Willow Crawford(CNE), av Manchester, NH, unanimous 5-0 Beslutet, while USA No 10- Topplista Ashleigh Moore (CNE), representing Buzzards Bay, MA, won a unanimous 5-0 decision against Gorham, ME’s Lindsay Kyanjohnian (NNE), who was runner-up for the second year in a row after she took top honors in 2016.

LOWELL, Mäss. (Februari 23, 2018) – Nästan 50 past New England Golden Gloves boxers turned out last night for the inaugural USA Boxing Alumni Association meet-and-greet in a private room, prior to the opening bout of the New England Tournament of Champions, at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, Massachusetts.
The USA Boxing Alumni Association gathering was also to promote the 2018 USA vs. Irland East Boxing Tour, which kicks-off Måndag, Mars 12, at Royale Entertainment Complex in Boston’s famed theater district. USA vs.. Ireland Northeast Boxing Tour will continue Mars 15 på Massmutual Center i Springfield, Mäss. and concludes Mars 21at The Manchester Downtown Hotel in Manchester, New Hampshire.

LOWELL, Mäss. (Februari 22, 2018) – A highly-competitive semifinal round was held last night, setting the stage for this evening’s finals of the New England Tournament of Championships, på historiska Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
The New England Tournament of Champions, also known as the All-New England’s, is part of the 72nd annual New England Golden Gloves Championships.

(Februari 19, 2018) – USA Boxing will host a private USA Boxing Alumni Association meet-and-greet denna torsdag natt (Februari. 22), prior to that evening’s open division finals of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 72nd annual New England Golden Gloves Championships, at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, Massachusetts.

LOWELL, Mäss. (Februari 16, 2018) – Fourteen novice division champions were crowned at last night’s championship finals of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 72nd annual New England Golden Gloves Championships, last night at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Western New England captured top honors in team standings with eight individual winners, followed by Central New England (5), Northern New England (1) and Southern New England (0).
East Walpole bantamweight Noelle Boran was named Most Outstanding Boxer.
The action shifts next week, Onsdag och Torsdag evenings, respektive, to the semifinals and finals of the New England Tournament of Champions at Lowell Memorial Auditorium. See the complete 2018 schema över händelser nedan samt gårdagens fullständiga resultat.
“It was very difficult to select the Most Outstanding Boxer because there were five who could have won,” N. Och. Executive Director Bobby Russo sa. Noelle won but Nelson Perez, Shane Jordan, Kate Zahr och Jessie Batanda were all in the running. We had some great bouts and surprisingly good talent for the novice division.
“I’m really looking forward to next week’s All-New England open division semifinals and championship finals. People should buy tickets in advance, so they don’t get caught in long lines and miss some early bouts. We’re expecting large crowds both night.”

(Februari 9, 2018) – Western New England and Central New England teams dominated last night’s semifinals round in the novice division of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 72nd annual New England Golden Gloves Championships, was held last night at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Team Western and Team Central won five and four individual matches, respektive, av 10 exciting bouts with the 10 winners advance to this coming Thursday’s (Februari. 15) novice division championship final at Lowell Memorial Auditorium. LOWELL, Mäss. (Januari 26, 2018) – The 72nd annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championships continued last night in front of a jacked-up crowd at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium, featuring later round Central New England (Större Lowell) novice and open class matches.

Novice semifinals and championship finals, as well as some open semifinals and championship final, were held last night. USA Boxing främsta. 7-rated light heavyweight Miguel Teo (Marlboro, MA) captured the Central New England (CNE) open division championship, stoppa John Xifafas. of Nashua, N.H., i den tredje omgången. CNE novice division champions crowned last night include East Walpole (MA) flyweight Noelle Boran and Chelsea (MA) mellanvikt Jordy Artica
“We had another good crowd of great Lowell fans on a very cold night,” N. Och. Executive Director Bobby Russo sa. “The Vegas-Gigliotti match was interesting and the Fight of the Night. It got very rough at times. Vegas dominated for the most part but Gigliotti showed super toughness. He took some shots but kept coming back.”

LOWELL, Mäss. (Januari 20, 2018) – The 72nd annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championships continued last night with Central New England (Större Lowell) novice and open class action at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Novice quarterfinals and semifinals matches were held last night, as well as preliminary bouts in the open division. The female championship bout in the middleweight class was also held last night, in which Amesbury’s (MA) Jessica McFadden edged Brookline’s Samantha Surface, 3-2.
The Fight of the Night was an open-class welterweight showdown between Salem’s (MA) Charlie Espinal and Amesbury’s Kenny Lawson, which Espinal won by a score of 5-0.
“It was a good night,” New England Golden Gloves verkställande direktör Bobby Russo sa. “Good weather helped draw a big crowd, the largest of the season so far. There were a lot of good matches, some open division to go along with the novices. The Espinal-Larson match was the best of the night, a war from start to finish. It was the type fight you didn’t want either fighter to lose. Espinal had a little better boxing and experience that carried him to victory.”

LOWELL, Mäss. (Januari 13, 2018) – The Central New England (Större Lowell) second-round of the 72nd annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championships concluded last night at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium with that featured 13 exciting men’s and women’s novice class matches.

“The first bout (Rodriguez vs. Picariello) of the night was awesome, one of the best I’ve seen in years,” Tournament Executive Director Bobby Russo sa. “It was a lesson to be learned for fans: don’t come late! One of the great things about amateur boxing is you never know what the fight of the night will be and last night it was the first. Rodriguez showed a good skill level, especially for a novice, and Picariello had tremendous determination. He kept coming and they both threw a lot of punches. It was a great way to start the show.”

(Januari 6, 2018) – The 72nd annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championships kicked-off last night in front of an enthusiastic crowd, despite traveling in sub-zero temperature, at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium with Central New England (Större Lowell) preliminary-round action that featured 13 exciting men’s and women’s novice class matches.

“I was very happy with last night’s turnover,” Tournament Executive Director Bobby Russo sa, “especially considering the wicked cold. “It’s a testament to the great fans in the Lowell area who are diehard supporters.”
