LONG ISLAND, New York (Août 1, 2018) – Former middleweight champion Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin and WBA Super Middleweight Women’s World Champion Alicia “L'impératrice” Napoléon visited Crestwood Day Camp Wednesday afternoon and hosted a motivational and fitness training session with over 200 campers.

 

 

 

Quillin and the Lindenhurst-native Napoleon took advantage of the opportunity to share positive messages with the campers ahead of their respective matchups taking place this Saturday, Août 4 from NYCB LIVE, accueil du Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

 

 

 

“Being a boxer is my lifestyle, and to be able to share some of the things that made me who I am with these kids is a great joy,” Saïd Quillin. “It’s so important to reach out to the next generation and give them the tools to live positively. As a pro athlete I consider that part of my job and something I take pride in doing.”

 

 

 

“I’m so happy to be here and give something back for these children,” dit Napoléon. “Sharing different tips and motivations while I’m here is really an honor. I’m focused on defending my title Saturday night, but something like this is really a treat. I hope they all had fun and learned something they didn’t know before today.”

 

 

 

The fighters spoke to the larger group of campers and showed them some training techniques before running a half hour fitness session for about 25 seven and eight-year-olds to round out the afternoon.

Portland, Maine (Février 7, 2018) - Combats Nouvelle-Angleterre (NEF) retourne à Aura à Portland leAvril 14, 2018 avec prochain événement mixte martiaux d'arts de la promotion de la lutte, “NEF 33: Contre-courant.” Plus tôt aujourd'hui,, NEF announced the addition of an amateur featherweight title bout to the card. Taylor Costantino (3-3) se réunira Shawn long (4-0) for the vacant 145-pound championship.

 

 

 

Taylor Costantino is a native of Long Island, New York where he began his MMA career in 2011 after being crowned a USA and Pan American Sambo champion. After moving to Maine, Costantino continued training and made his NEF debut in early 2016 with a 25-second TKO victory over Frank Johanson (2-2). Actuellement, he is a member of Evolution Athletix based in Saco.

 

 

 

“I’m very excited to fight in Portland against a tough opponent,” said Costantino. “I’ve never taken an easy opponent, and this fight is no different. I have a lot to prove to my coaches, my teammates and myself – and a man with something to prove is a dangerous man.”

 

 

 

Undefeated Shawn Lunghi has been dominant in two previous NEF cage appearances. The Florida native first traveled north in the fall of 2016, scoring a second round submission of Alex Clark (4-2). Le week-end dernier, Lunghi returned to take on Devin Corson (1-1). It took just over a minute for Lunghi to pull out another submission win on Maine soil. He will have little time to rest after the upcoming battle at “NEF 33.” In late April, Lunghi will leave for Fort Bliss, and from there will travel to Afghanistan in May as part of his service in the Army National Guard.

 

 

 

“I couldn’t be more excited to return to the NEF cage for NEF 33 and take a shot at the featherweight title,” dit long. “Taylor is an experienced, game opponent and I expect he will be ready for a war. This will be my last fight for awhile as I will be deploying with the Army National Guard for the next year, but I can’t think of a better send off then to win the 145-pound title and celebrate with my RMNU team in Portland, Maine.”

Scott Burrell takes on Anthony Karperis in main event while Dean Burrell takes on John Hernandez
Huntington, Long Island (Mars 22, 2017) –Ce vendredi night at the Paramount Theatre in Huntington, New York, The Burrell Twins, Scott and Dean will be back in action in highly anticipated bouts against tough competition.
Scott (12-2, 8 KO) will take on Anthony Karperis (13-2, 4 KO) in the ten-round main event, while Dean (11-1, 8 KO) battles John Hernandez (8-1, 1 KO) in a six-round bout on the Joe DeGuardia Star Boxing card.
Scott will be making his first start since winning a unanimous decision over Joseph Perez (12-3-2) sur Juillet 23, 2016 à Uncasville, Connecticut.
Scott will be looking for his 6th consecutive win.
“I’ve had the best training camp and preparation for this fight than any other,” said Scott Burrell. “We’ve left no stone unturned in and out of the gym. I’m ready to go out there March 24th and put on a show!”

“This camp has been all about pushing my limits and challenging myself to work outside of my comfort zone. My coaches have pushed me, my brother has challenged me. All that’s left now is the final test March 24th, which I will pass!”

“I always try to make sure that I have fun in preparation for fights, which we did. I’m looking forward to a tough fight against a tough opponent.”

They have worked so hard to get here and with this night of fights they both get a chance to shine together in front of friends and family. Our head coach Don Saxby has put in incredible work and for that we are extremely grateful. From training, to coaching, to management- this night is a culmination of a lot of hard work.”

Hamburgers, poulet, chiens chauds, maïs en épi, macaronis et pommes de terre salades ont été consommés avec une grande variété de boissons et de desserts. The most popular children activities included a face painter and magician.

“Tous Anneau 8 membres, avec leurs familles et amis, nous nous réjouissons de notre pique-nique annuel,” Anneau 8 président Bob Duffy a dit. “Il est tout d'avoir du plaisir, pas nécessairement la boxe, mais les conversations ne finissent généralement par être sur notre sport favori. Ceci est aussi l'une des rares occasions pour Ring 8 membres à apporter leur famille et rencontrer d'autres membres’ les familles et les amis.”
