Brock lands a right on Blanco
From the Louisiana Penitentiary, where Brock (13-3, 4 KOs) learned how to box while serving a 15-year sentence for armed robbery, to his salvation in the boxing ring. The 35-year-old boxer from New Orleans captured his second title, taking a 10-round split decision (96-94, 96-94, 93-97) from defending North American Boxing Association (Aussi) USA lightweight champion ReynaldoEl TrampolinBlanco (13-3, 7 KOs)
Brock predicted that fans would see a completely different fighter, after being trained for this fight by future Hall of Famer and 10-time world champion Roy Jones, Jr. Brock threw effective punches in bunches, aggressively fought inside against the taller Blanco, and he outworked the Dominican who suffered a cut over his left eye midway through the fight and had his right eye swell a few rounds later.
Blaireau (R) won his second title with a split decision victory over Blanco
I knew he was a gritty guy who came from Puerto Rico to fight me in Las Vegas,” explained Brock, who added the NABA USA title to his growing collection that already had included the WBC US lightweight strap. “I was having fun, enjoying myself. I had to pick up stuff working with Roy and some rubbed off on me. With Roy’s help, my confidence was built up and I learned techniques, especially with my hand-and-feet coordination. I found what I learned was more effective.
Jones was calm in Brock’s corner throughout the fight. “I’m always calm in the corner to get the best out of the fighter,” Jones noted. “To do that I need to remain calm.
Mexican upset specialist NorbertoDemonio” Gonzalez (22-3-8, 13 KOs) did his thing in the co-feature, taking an eight-round split decision (76-75, 76-75, 74-77) from Puerto Rican junior middleweight Daniel “El Duro” Chapelet (11-2, 10 KOs).
(R) Norberto Gonzalez pulled off another upset last night
Gonzalez overcame a second-round knockdown. “I didn’t come here to lose,” Gonzalez commented. “I knew we had to work hard to get a decision.
Dans le premier match de la télévision, red-hot junior featherweight prospect Excité “Le Matador” Moreno (7-0, 6 KOs) est resté invaincu, outclassing Daniel Perales (7-6-1, 4 KOs) from the opening bell until referee Russell Mora stopped the fight at the request of the corner in the fourth round. Using his height and reach advantage once again, the 20-year-old Moreno, combats de Las Vegas, continued to show steady overall improvement in his first scheduled six-round bout.
(R) – Randy Moreno is a rising young star
I can’t wait until I get my first title shot,” Moreno said. “Fighting at home means the world to me.
.
Undefeated New York junior flyweight NatalieTuffie” Gonzalez (3-0, 1 KO) unloaded a big right-hand to register her first professional knockout as previously unbeaten MarinaRockie” Ramirez (2-1) beat the count but referee Kenny Bayles halted the fight.
In a spirited junior featherweight fight from start to finish, Juan “Ciclon Junior” Sanchez (2-0, 1 KO) won a hard fought four-round unanimous decision over a game Javier “Extinction des feux” Cepeda (0-3).
Puerto Rican cruiserweight Kenny “L'Indien” Croix (1-2-1, 1 KO) ruined the pro debut former UNLV football player Jason “The BlazeBeauchamp, unleashing a barrage of unanswered punches for a knockout win only 1:11 dans la manche d'ouverture.

With Jones working his corner, Swedish middleweight Shady Gamhour (1-0, 1 KO) turned in an impress pro debut, arrêt David De La Cruz (0-1) au troisième tour.

LAS VEGAS (Septembre 10, 2016) – The heat was on last night at “Knockout Night at the D,” dans et hors de l'anneau, thoroughly entertaining another sold-out crowd at the outdoorDowntown Las Vegas Events Center.
On a stacked card that had fans on their feet all night, Canadian Steve “Le dragon” Claggett (24-4-1, 16 KOs) dérangé Emmanuel “Renégat” Robles (15-1-1, 5 KOs) dans l'événement principal, promu en association avec Bobby D Presents, but it was Nééco “The Rooster” Macias (13-0, 7 KOs) who stole the show in the co-feature

Jim “J.R.” Ross et Al Bernstein called the action from ringside on CBS Sports Network in North America and internationally via ESPN.

Steve Claggett (L) upset Emmanuel Robles
Claggett, se battre hors de Calgary, Canada, dropped down one weight class. Coming off a disputed 10-round decision loss to Chris van Heerden ce passé Avril, also at the Downtown Las Vegas Event Center, Claggett won a 10-round majority decision (98-92, 98-92, 94-96)ce soir for the vacant North American Boxing Association (Aussi) titre poids welter. His expert body work allowed him to dictate the pace of the boxing match.
This is a long time coming, Claggett admitted. “I took the loss (vs. van Heerden) in stride, vowing to go back to the gym and make changes. I went down to 140 (lbs.) and it was the right decision. Je suis plus fort. I I really worked hard.
I landed a couple of shots that hurt him noticeably. Il est difficile. Robles is a champion in the making. Je ai beaucoup de respect pour lui. C'est ma vie. Ce (his loss to van Heerden) fueled me. The fire’s back in me. I love fighting in Las Vegas.
Nééco “The Rooster” Macias (L) stole the show to became a rising star
The co-feature showcased a pair undefeated junior middleweights and from the opening bell it was a real firefight. Macias forced Rolando “Rôle” Garza (9-1, 6 KOs), a 3-time Mexican National amateur champion, to fight his fight. Macia’s aggressive style, always coming forward, throwing punches from every conceivable angle, ruled the coop. Garza got caught up in the action and paid for it, although the score after was 39-37, 39-37 for Macias, 39-37 for Garza, entering the fifth and final round. Macia’s constant pressure controlled the action, wearing down Garza, and paid dividends as he dropped Garza in the fifth. Arbitre Jay Nady had seen enough, halting the fight at that point as much due to the damage Garza had suffered in the first four rounds as the knockdown.
A rising star was born in Macia, who captured the vacant World Boxing Association (WBC) United States junior middleweight championship. “It’s conditioning, a lot of work,” Macias explained the reason for his non-stop action before crowing loudly in the ring. “I stuck to the game plan. I knew he’d come to fight with a lot of skill to out-box me and get points. My game plan was throw a lot of upper cuts and punches from every angle. It was all about throwing combinations.
He had a lot pf power, so I used defense to block punches. In the last round, I put punches together. I think the fight was stopped a little early and he could have kept going, but I didn’t see what he saw, and the referee was looking out for the fighters so we can fight another day.
Jeremy Nichols remained undefeated
Dans le premier match de la télévision, flashy Las Vegas welterweight Jérémie “J-Flash” Nicolas (6-0, 2 KOs) continué à rouler, winning a 4-round unanimous decision over Steve Belmontes (2-1, O KOs). Nichols outworked his opponent, consistently beating Belmontes to the punch with his superior quickness.
I think it could have been a little flashier,” Nichols admitted. “But give it up to my opponent, he came to fight. Avec plus de 100 combats amateurs, he could take a punch but he kept coming. My goal was to take everything from him and make him fight my fight. His hands were a little slower and he took a lot of good body shots and counters.
Marina Ramírez (R) was a crowd pleaser
“I landed a lot of shots,” Ramirez noted. “I respect her, she was tough. The game plan worked and we got the win.
Randy Moreno (L) keeps improving
Twenty-year-old Randy Moreno (4-0, 3 KOs) turned in the best performance of his young career, stopping Australian junior lightweight “12” Gaige Ireland (2-1-2, 2 KOs) au troisième tour. Moreno fights with the poise of a much older fighter, effectively counter punching from the opening bell. “Il se sent bien,” Moreno commented. “I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t forGil Martinez (entraîneur en chef). He is notorious for his training methods and it’s paid off. I’ve been with him 10 ans. Fighting here at home means the world to me.
Ismaïl (L) resté invaincu
Invaincu légère perspective Ismaïl “Tireur pointu” Marcher, fighting out of Minneapolis by way of his native Uganda, pour améliorer 18-0 (12 KOs), taking a one-sided six-round unanimous decision from Eliseo Cruz (9-2-1, 6 KOs). “I think I did well, I was out of the ring a long time,” Muwendo commented. Le “La” must go in co-feature showdown at “Knockout Night at the D” between Undefeated junior middleweight prospects Rolando Garza & Neeco Macias

En direct Sept. 9 on CBS Sports Network from the Downtown Las Vegas Event Center
LAS VEGAS (Août 30, 2016) – In a classic match-up of contrasting styles, Rolando “Rôle” Garza et Nééco “The Rooster” Macias will both put their undefeated records on the line in the “Knockout Night at the D” 8-round co-featured event, aération Vendredi nuit, Septembre 9, sur CBS Sports Network, live from the outdoor Downtown Las Vegas Events Center (DLVEC).
Le “Knockout Night at the D” série, présenté par

et DLVEC, est promu par Roy Jones Jr. (JJR) Promotions de boxe. Annonceurs du Temple de la renommée Jim “J.R.” Ross et Al Bernstein will call all of the action from ringside, à partir de 11 p.m. ET / 11 p.m. ET, sur le réseau CBS Sports.

The 10-round main event pits unbeaten junior welterweights Emmanuel “Renégat” Robles (15-1-1, 5 KOs) et Steve “Le dragon” Claggett(23-4-1, 16 KOs),promu en association avec Bobby D Presents, for the vacant North American Boxing Association (Aussi) – Championnat des États-Unis des poids welters juniors.
Garza and Macias (12-0, 6 KOs), who will be fighting for the vacant WBC – Championnat américain des poids moyens juniors, are exact opposites in and out of the ring. The winner will advance to the next level of competition in the 154-pound division.
A technically sound boxer, Garza had an extensive amateur background as a member of the Mexican National Team, finishing with a 120-12 record, before turning pro September 29, 2012. The quiet, unassuming fighter 24-year-old was impressive in his last fight, also at the DLVEC this past Juin 10, in which he dominated previously unbeaten Erasmo Garcia (5-0-1) on his way to an 6-round unanimous decision (59-54, 59-54, 58-56) victoire.
Rolando Garza
(Photo de Tom Donoghue / le D))

The opportunity that Roy Jones Jr Boxing Promotions and CBS Sports Network has presented me has boosted my confidence to another level,” Garza said. “I have never been more confident in my skills, my team and training. I’m going to show Las Vegas and the rest of country what my talent brings into the ring. Once Las Vegas witnesses my talent, la lutte contre la télévision nationale, no one will be able to turn a blind eye. Not only will this fight put my name out there, but better opportunities will present themselves, and that keeps me motivated.

This fight will propel me into the 154-pound rankings. It’s high risk with an even higher reward: le WB / US title. My opponent is a brawler; a non-stop, aggressive puncher who moves forward, which will make this fight nothing short of explosive fireworks in the ring.
In the other corner, the non-stop Macias relies on conditioning and an aggressive, always coming forward approach to break down his opponent. The 25-year-old Macias, fighting out of Palm Desert, Californie, unlike Garza, who now lives and trains in Austin (TX), had only 30 amateur bouts having started boxing at the relative advanced age of 21. He did win gold medals at the National Blue & Gold Tournament, as well as Central California Golden Gloves and Desert Showdown. Macias is a showman, playing to the crowd before, during and after fights, crowing like a rooster, always with a broad smile on his face.
Neeco Macia
(Photo de Tom Donoghue – le D)

Macias’ last fight, also at the DLVE this past Avril 16, resulted in an action-packed fight against Limberth Ponce(10-2). Never tasking his foot off the pedal, Macias rolled to a win by 8-round unanimous decision (79-73 X 3), earning him a legion of new fans who were in attendance or watched the fight on CBS Sports Network.

Fighters don’t really care who they fight, they just want to fight,” Macias explained why his risking his undefeated record against an opponent who has never loss. “I had a fight fall through so, instead of waiting for another fight, when the opportunity to fight a 9-0 guy came, my coaches watched film of him and we agreed that I’m ready. This is the first time I’m fighting on the ‘B’ côté, but we’re using that as motivation. I take one fight at a time but I know I’m fighting on TV and need to look good. I want to show everyone that all the hard work has paid off.
I see this fight as my opponent probably having more skill, he’s technically sound and sets up his shots. But our plan is to take him out of his game plan, wear him down and have some fun doing it. My last fight was my first in Las Vegas and first time fighting on national television. It got a lot of notice. I’ve been through all of that now and will be even better prepared for this fight. It’s awesome fighting in Las Vegas on CBS Sports Network!”

LAS VEGAS (Juin 10, 2016) – The heat was on in Las Vegas ce soir, temperature-wise as well as the action inside the ring, for the third installment of “Knockout Night at the D” série, which aired live on CBS Sports Network de l'extérieurDowntown Las Vegas Events Center (DLVEC) en 90+ degree conditions before another capacity crowd.
An old-time Las Vegas grudge match turned into a highly entertaining boxing war as WBC United States (USNBC) champion des poids légers DemondBody Shot” Blaireau(12-3-1, 4 KOs) won a hard fought 10-round decision over former USNBC 135-pound titlist and previously unbeaten challenger Chuy “Hurrican” Gutierrez (14-1-1, 4 KOs).
(L-R) – Chuy Gutierrez and Demond Brock put on a real show
Le “Knockout Night at the D” série, présenté par D Las Vegaset DLVEC, est promu par Roy Jones Jr. (JJR) Promotions de boxe.
What a night we had downtown,” dit Derek Stevens, Propriétaire et PDG du D Las Vegas et du DLVEC. “I want to thank the Nevada Athletic Commission for allowing us to do these fights outdoors. I want to shout out to Chuy and Brock,,,..what fighters! Let’s keep this going downtown.
Blaireau, fighting out of New Orleans, learned to box in Louisiana State Penitentiary, where he served nearly 15 ans, sentenced as an adult at 15 for armed robbery. The determined lightweight controlled the pace and consistently beat hometown favorite Gutierrez to the punch all night. Gutierrez, a tough Mexican who lives in Las Vegas, showed the heart of a champion, albeit in a losing effort to a fresher Brock.
Blaireau (R) nails Gutierrez with right
I think I put on a great performance,” Brock commented after the fight. “I came out to give my best effort. We trained to fight inside to fight Chuy, not box, to make him uncomfortable in a fight he’s not used to. I won this fight on the inside. No backing up for 10 rounds durs. We prepared that way because we knew Chuy was going to come in throwing shots. But he’d never fought anybody of my caliber. I was looking to finish him but I didn’t want to get careless.
In a battle of unbeaten junior middleweight, Envahisseur mexicain Rolando “Rôle” Garza (9-0, 6 KOs) et nous. vétéran du Corps des Marines ErasmoThe Reckoning” Garcia (5-1-1, 3 KOs) put on a show in the televised co-feature. All they really needed was a phone booth as the two warriors pounded each other from the opening bell, although Garza got the much better of the action for the first four rounds, buzzing Garcia at the end of the fourth. The game Garcia came back in the fifth, despite suffering a lot of damage from a relentless attack by Garza, who simply outclassed his overmatched opponent with his technical boxing skills. Garza, who was deducted a point for throwing a low blow in the fifth round, won a unanimous 6-round decision in a firefight.
We worked the body and, Dieu merci, gagné le combat,” Garza noted. “Il est un dur, unbeaten guy. We came here and did it. Viva Las Vegas!”
Garza (L) was too much for Garcia
Dans le premier match de la télévision, Las Vegas welterweight prospect Jérémie “J-Flash” Nicolas (5-0. 2 KOs) dominated previously unbeaten Adam Vasquez (5-1-1). The flashy Nichols dropped Vasquez twice in the final round to win a 4-round unanimous decision by scores of 40-34 trois fois.
Nichols decked Vasquez twice
Nichols won his third fight in the last three months, “I can go next week,” Nichols said after the fight. “He was tall fighter who was undefeated. He didn’t come here to lose. I take my hat off to him because I hit him with some great shots. He is a tough guy with a big heart. I had to do the Ali Shuffle in the first round because he was my favorite fighter.
Los Angeles heavyweight JohnathanJohnnie” Riz (4-1, 2 KOs), un ancien collège Winthrop (Caroline du Nord) joueur de basket, upset 4-time Mexican National amateur champion Edgar “El Chato” Ramirez (1-1, 1 KO), pitching a shutout for a unanimous 4-round decision.
Rice unloaded some haymakers on Ramirez
Las Vegas junior featherweight max “Baby Face Assassin” Ornelas (1-0, 1 KO de an auspices pro debut, one day after his high school graduation ceremony, one day prior to his 18e anniversaire. Ornelas dropped Robert “Lil’ Voler” Ledesma (1-5) à mi-chemin du premier tour. Ledesma rose but Ornelas hit him with a vicious left hook to the body, hurting Ledesma who turned his back and walked away in pain. Arbitre Jay Nady stepped in and halted the fight.
17-year-old Ornelas (R) had an impressive pro debut
Poids lourds Tracey “The Titan” Johnson (4-2-4), de Boston, et Los Angeles’CashtonFedia-Tone” Jeune (2-1, 1 KO) set the stage in the opening fight of the evening.
