WASHINGTON, D.C. (Desembre 3, 2018)–This past Saturday night, Tori Nelsonpounded out a 10-round unanimous decision over Sanna Turnunen to retain the UBF Middleweight title in the main event of the first ever fight card at The Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington, D.C.
The eight-bout card was promoted by Tricky Entertainment and DCFightNight.

Nelson controlled the action against Turunen by out working her. Turunen was gritty in defeat, but Nelson took the fight in shutout fashion to the tune of 100-90 en totes les targetes.

The fight was a close fight, but some in the crowd showed their disapproval when the scores were read 57-56 twice for Crossed and 57-56 for Smith.

Crossed, 189.6 lbs of Greenbelt, MD és 8-0. Herrero, 187.6 lbs of Oklahoma City is 3-2.

Kareem Martin won a six-round unanimous decision over Andrew Rodgers in a welterweight bout.

Magruder (5-0, 4 KOs) is looking to get back in the mix for the 1st time since his opening round stoppage over Ronnie Watson on September 30th, 2016.
Magruder has been back in camp, and working hard for the bout.
“I have had a good camp. I always love training at home for fights,” va dir el 26 year-old Magruder,
Magruder of Washington, D.C. had an amateur career that saw him have about 100 baralles, and for two years was considered the number-one fighter in the country in his weight class.
Magruder’s father, Sean, is one of the co-promoters of the event, and the younger Magruder has been helping out while staying completely focused on his opponent.
“Most of my fights have been at home, and I love it. Its been a good learning experience helping out with the business end of things.”
Magruder, who considers himself as a boxer-puncher, doesn’t go into fights looking for early stoppages.
“I don’t go in there looking for knockouts, I just let the fight come to me, but it is great when it happens.”
Even though doesn’t possess an outstanding record, he is battle tested who has faced a staggering 23 undefeated foes, and he has proved to be a sturdy opponent.
“You can’t overlook anybody who goes in the ring. He is durable, and I know that he will try to win. Havent dit això, I do not know too much about him.”
After the long layoff, Magruder sees an opportunity to start making some noise in the junior welterweight division.
“I am looking to be more active. I think in 2019, I will make up for lost time, and look to get five or six fights in. That should take me to 12-0, and I should start to get noticed on those prospect lists. I just want people to come out on Saturday. It is a great card with a lot of good fighters. I have been training really hard, and I will put on a great show.”

Washington, D.C. (Novembre 19, 2018) – Tori Nelson will defend her UBF Middleweight world championship against Sanna Turunen in the ten-round co-main event on Dissabte nit, 1a de desembre de a The Entertainment and Sports Arena a Washington, D.C.

“I have been lucky to travel the country, fighting for, and defending my world titles. I have fought everywhere, but surprisingly, living in Ashburn, Virginia, I have never fought in DC. Now to be a part of this groundbreaking show at the Arena of the Washington Mystics is very special to me. A young, up-and-coming fighter from Washington, D.C., Martin turned pro in 2014 and is yet to lose as a pro. The 20-year-old picked up four victories last year and owns a decision victory over Somner Martin in 2016. He will take on a fellow D.C. native in Grayton, who looks to bounce back after a loss to unbeaten Bryant Perrella in June. Previously the 29-year-old was unbeaten and had picked up a victory in January of this year over Daniel Souza Santos.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Abril 2, 2016) – campió mundial en quatre divisions Adrien “El Problema” Broner didn’t have much of a problem beating and stopping Ashley “el tresor” Theophane at 1:10 in the ninth round en l'esdeveniment principal de aquesta nit Lliga de Campions de Boxa (PBC) a Spike event in front of a sold out crowd of 8,172 a the DC Armory in Washington, D.C.

Broner came out in the early rounds showing his speed and versatility, only to be stymied by a game Theophane who showed his own array of boxing skills. En poc temps, Broner’s ring prowess proved to be too much for Theophane, as he landed power shots at will and began dominating. As Broner wore his opponent down it became easier for him to overpower Theophane and finally stop him in the ninth round.
“When people fight me, they come with their ‘A’ joc, and he came with his ‘A’ joc. But even his ‘A’ game wasn’t enough aquesta nit.
“As you know, I’ve been going through a lot and for me to come in here and bottle everything up and do what I did, I want to give myself a pat on the back.”
Theophane was disappointed and didn’t agree with the stoppage.
“I thought the stoppage was premature because I thought I was in the fight. Me and Broner were going at it. It looked like he was starting to get tired because he started to move around and wasn’t able to stay there with me as much.
“I thought the fight was back and forth and I think the next four rounds would have been the same. No way should the fight have gotten stopped. It’s a shame the referee did that. I was telling the referee, ‘I’m okay, I’m okay.’ Then he waived it off. I don’t know what he was thinking.”
Broner and Mayweather, who promotes Theophane, have been engaged in a war of words throughout the promotion. Broner challenged the 11-time world champion immediately following his victory.

Pasqua, who took a big step up in competition facing Mendez, showed the patience of a season veteran in the early rounds against Mendez who represented the Dominican Republic in the 2004 Olympics and now fights out of Brooklyn.
It didn’t take Easter long to get comfortable and pick up his pace in the third and fourth rounds, with an array of body shots and uppercuts, that found their mark against the game Mendez. Easter closed the show when he knocked down Mendez with a devastating one punch knock-out via a stiff right hand. Mendez got up from the knocked down but was unable to continue, forcing the referee to stop the contest.
“My performance was okay. Jo podria haver fet millor, però estic feliç. I got touched more than I expected. Once I settled down, I knew I was going to catch him. I had to stay patient.
“Two boxers makes for a boring fight. I wanted to go in there and brawl, but be smart. I knew when I stepped on the gas I would put him to bed and that’s what I did. He was definitely the toughest opponent I have faced in a shorter fight. He is a former champ and he came in ready.
“This was a huge opportunity for me and I’m just happy I got the knockout. For what it’s worth, Em sento bé…at least physically I do. I’m pretty disappointed because of the way things turned out, but boxing is a difficult sport.
“I don’t have any excuses. I’m glad that I feel fine physically, that’s the most important thing right now. Robert Easter is a good fighter, he did really well and I wish him the best in his career.”

Davis, who pressed the action throughout the fight while the combatants engaged in many competitive exchanges, showed off his emerging talent as a multi-dimensional young pugilist.
The fight’s action picked up in the fourth when one of Davis’s punches caused a cut underneath Avila’s left eye. Davis continued his assault in the fifth when he landed a straight left hand to send Avila to the canvas. In the sixth and final round Davis came out of his corner and immediately jumped on his opponent causing the referee to halt the action.
“I knew he was a strong opponent. He kept bouncing back and I actually thought he was going to get up at the end too. He is very experienced and I thank him for taking the fight. He brought out the best in me.
“There is always room to get better and better, but this is another step toward my dream. I’m happy with my performance and it is even more special to have done it where I made my pro debut, so close to home.
“I’m happy I could get this victory for my team, Floyd Mayweather and everyone that supports me.”
“We prepared really well and think we did well,” said Avila “The cut came from a head-butt which complicated the situation for me as it didn’t let me see properly from that point forward. But it is what it is -he won. És bo, and he hits hard.
“I appreciate everyone who was supporting me and my team. This is not the end of my career. I’m young and this is the type of sport where you just have to bounce back. We’re going to move on with our head up. There’s no other choice.”
