PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island (December 2, 2017) – Professional boxing returned to The Strand Ballroom and Theatre in Providence last night, December 1 voor de eerste keer in 20 jaar and popular Providence featherweight Toka “T-Nice” Kahn Clary didn’t disappoint the large, raucous crowd.
Kahn-Clary (24-1, 16 KO) turned in a dominant performance, winning by way of a seventh-round technical knockout, over previously undefeated Filipino slugger John Vincent Moralde (19-1, 10 KO), the WBC Asian featherweight titlist, om de vacante World Boxing Council vast te leggen (WBC) USNBC featherweight championship.
Real Deal Championship Boxing V”, presented by Hall of Famer Evander Holyfield’s The Real Deal Boxing, aired live on CBS Sports Network, the undercard was live-streamed on www.TheRealDealBoxing.com. Calling the action were Paulie Malignaggi, Steve Farhood and Barry Tompkins.
The 25-year-old Kahn-Clary, who won the North American Boxing Association (Ook) title in his last fight, used a stiff jab and solid defense to frustrate his opponent early in the fight, setting the pace to take a decisive scoring advantage.
Toka-Kahn came out firing in the fourth round, applying more pressure to take full command, en hij liet nooit op. Rapid fire punches by Toka-Kahn, thrown from all angles, repeatedly landed on his overmatched opponent. By the end of round seven it was clear that the end was near for Moralde and it came suddenly when Moralde couldn’t continue anymore.
This was great vanavond,” Holyfield commented about promoting his first show in Providence. “We want Toka to be our first world champion and this performance should put him in good position. It was very important to build his fanbase at home in Providence and we look forward to promoting here in the near future.
I’m not a one-punch fighter,” WBA No. 14-rated Toka explained. “I kept walking him down and hit him with some good body shots. I’m not going to call anybody out by name but I’m ready to fight anybody in my weight class.
This is such a good feeling. I came here but could have ended up anywhere. I’m truly blessed to be in Providence and have these great fans. Ik heb een geweldig team achter me. I want to fight the best to be the best, it’s the only way to make money and be recognized. Ik ben er klaar voor iedereen!”
The American debut of undefeated Italian cruiserweight FabioStone CrusherTurchi (13-0, 11 KO) was a clinic in last night’s co-featured event against Demetrius Banks (9-4, 4 KO), van Detroit. Turchi patiently applied constant pressure, methodically breaking down the game Banks and hurting his opponent with a flurry of punches in the third round. The end came when Banks failed to answer the bell for round five.
“Ik ben zo blij,” Turchi remarked after the fight. “This was so emotional for me because it was the first time I fought in front of Evander. I’m happy with my performance but I think I could have done better”.
I felt the heat from the Italian-American fans and I thank them for helping me sustain. I also want to thank The Real Deal Boxing. My next fight will be Februari 2 at home in Florence, for the European Union title.
In the CBSSN televised opener, red-hot featherweight prospect made Irvin Gonzalez(8-0, 7 KO) made the most of his national TV debut, switching freely from orthodox stance to southpaw and back throughout the fight, en route to a sensational third-round knockout of Colombian knockout artist Marlon Olea (13-2, 12 KO). The lightning-quick Gonzalez, van Worcester, MA, consistently beat his opponent to the punch, and finished off Olea with a straight right to the body to keep his perfect pro record intact. Olea was fighting in the U.S. voor de eerste keer.
Vanavond, I showed that I’m a real fighter,” zei Gonzalez na het gevecht. “I believe I’m a contender in my weight class. I’m going back to the drawing board with my coaches and 2018 is going to be my year.
lokale favoriet Nick DeLomba (12-2, 2 KO), representing nearby Cranston, RI, pleased his supportive crowd, registering a hard-fought victory by way of an eight-round unanimous decision versus Bronx junior welterweight Louis Cruz (12-4, 6 KO) voor de vacante Universal Boxing Federation (UBF) junior welterweight title. Cruz was penalized a one-point deduction in the fourth round for a low blow. Scores waren 79-72 en 78-73 tweemaal.
Two-time New England Golden Gloves champion Timmy Ramos (4-0-2, 4 KO), vechten uit Framingham, MA, bleef ongeslagen, but he fought a four-round split draw with Worcester, MA junior lichtgewicht Phil Davis (1-1-1) in an entertaining give-and-take contest. Scores waren 39-37 en 38-38 tweemaal.
Philadelphia welterweight Poindexter “Woest” Ridder (1-0, 1 KO), een 2017 Nationale Golden Gloves kampioen, had an auspicious pro debut, trapping Samuel Forjoe (0-2) in the corner right after the first bell. The gifted southpaw, a prized prospect for fans to keep an eye on, unloaded ten unanswered punches until referee Danny Schiavone halted the action at 1:03 van de openingsronde.
Las Vegas junior middleweight Jeremy “J-Flash” Nichols (8-1-1, 2 KO) opened the night with a six-round unanimous decision win over battled-tested Puerto Rican fighterDaniel Ceiling (13-16-1, 5 KO). Scores waren 60-54 en 59-55 tweemaal.

PRESSER QUOTES
Sal Musumeci, CEO of The Real Deal Boxing: “We’re honored to be here in Rhode Island. So many champs come through here and we’re here for that reason and its great boxing fans. I’ve been promoting 20 years with more than 400 shows worldwide. I know where we want to go to places with people who appreciate boxing.
Evander and I got together to put together The Real Deal Boxing because we want the same shows, two warriors in the ring, and that’s what you’re going to see Vrijdag night at The Stand. Thanks for accepting is here. Toka is a great inspiration. When I first heard his story, my COO (Eric Bentley) sad we need to sign him. He’s in a tough fight. Toka accepted the challenge because he believes he’ll be world champion.
Turchi is an undefeated cruiserweight who will grow into a heavyweight. An Italian heavyweight like the great Rocky Marciano who fought in providence so many times.
I guarantee op vrijdag night you’ll see the most competitive fights in Providence in many years.
Evander Holyfield: “I’m honored to be here. A big part of me being a promoter is how can I help boxing? I started at eight, when I was told I’d be like Ali. I believed that, but I had to ask my mother (permission to box). I was a four-time heavyweight world champion, but I also had my ups and downs. I tell them (my fighters), if they listen and ask me for advice, I will tell them. The problems today with millennials is that there’s really nobody to tell them. Just ask me, I tell them.
I bring a lot to boxing, but I won’t say I will make my fighters champions. I will give them an opportunity to be champion. I had opportunities and never quit. If you set goals and you don’t quit, you’ll reach that goal. Correct your mistakes and don’t quit. These fighters need to believe in me but, belangrijker, they need to believe in themselves. I can give them advice because I’ve done it. I’m on their side.
Toka Kahn-Clary: I want to thank Evander, Sal and everybody on my team for having me fight in my state. I also want to thank my manger, trainer and Dan Crotty. Ik ben blij om hier te zijn. Boxing isn’t easy, but it is the path I’ve chosen. I’m fighting here on national television, representing my city and state.
I’m going to put on a show December 1st. It’s not going to be easy but I’m going in the ring to give it my all. I can’t wait to fight!”
Seth DeRobbio, manager of Toka Kahn-Clary, Irvin Gonzalez, Nick DeLomba & Timmy Ramos:
I want to thank Sal and Evander for giving Providence good fights. This is a great opportunity for Toka, who is fighting a 19-0 tegenstander, setting up a 2018 to be a big year for him. Hopelijk, we’ll be bringing something very big to Providence, ook. You won’t know who is going to win Vrijdag night until the fights are over.
Peter Manfredo, Sr., head trainer for Kahn-Clary: “I’d like to thank Evander, Seth, the whole crew (The Real Deal Boxing). When Seth mentioned signing Toka with Evander, I soon learned that they take care of their fighters, no BS. Listen to them and you’ll make it to the top.
Toka Kahn-Clary is the best fighter I’ve ever had, I’ve had a lot of good ones. Toka is always in condition, he works hard and has an iron chin. He wants to be a legend and I’m going to do everything to help him.
Fabio Turchi:I’m really happy to be here. I want to thank Real Deal Boxing for having faith in me. I will try to do my best to put on a great show. The people here mean a lot to me and I want to make the Italian-Americans here in Providence proud of me.
Nick DeLomba: I want to thank Evander for putting me on this card. I grew up watching his fights on video; he is my idol and I’m honored to be fighting on his card. Ik kom om te vechten. My opponent is a tough fighter who’ll bring his best.

WORKOUT QUOTES
Evander Holyfield, Hall of Famer, Real Deal Boxing:There’s a lot of pressure fighting in a big fight for the first time at home. I remember my homecoming in Atlanta, terug in 1985, and there were a lot of distractions. Everybody who knew my name showed up, most looking for free tickets. I was skeptical about ever fighting there again. Iedereen is anders, though.
Toka may be our first world champion. He’s a very disciplined person who has been through a lot. I come from the ghetto but, when I heard his story, Wauw, I couldn’t believe his (life) was harder than mine.
Toka-Kahn-Clary: (Toka became a father for the first time on Nov. 11, when his wife, Devanni, delivered a 7-pound girl, Adaline) “Nu, I’m fighting for my family, not just Toka anymore.
“Ik voel me goed. I had to have patience and faith in my craft to get here. If you keep working hard, doors will open, and when they do you have to jump right through. I want to win impressively, dominate the fight
I see a lot of top fighters in my weight class. I’m not going to name any until after this fight, but I have the talent to beat them.
I want to be recognized after I stop fighting, like Evander, who everybody knows, likes and respects.
Peter Manfredo, Sr., Kahn-Clary's hoofdtrainer: “Toka is a top prospect who is becoming a contender. A lot of fighters don’t even get to this point. This fight is a major opportunity to get him closer to where he wants to be, not just a world champion, but for his name to be remembered in boxing. He wants to be a legend. He has to remain focused because this is the first time he’ll have a big crowd behind him.
Fabio Turchi (Italian Amateur Champion) “Everybody here has been great, very hospitable. It’s such a great honor for me to fight in America with its great boxing tradition. I want to have a great fight to be embraced by Americans, especially here in Rhode Island. It’s beautiful having so many Italians, that gives me and added push to win.
Nick DeLomba: “This opportunity means the world to me because I’ll be showcasing my talents in front of my hometown fans. An impressive win will, hopelijk, get me to the next level, in TV fights against bigger names.

This is a long time coming, Claggett admitted. “I took the loss (vs. van Heerden) in stride, vowing to go back to the gym and make changes. I went down to 140 (lbs.) and it was the right decision. Ik ben sterker. I I really worked hard.
I landed a couple of shots that hurt him noticeably. Hij is taai. Robles is a champion in the making. Ik heb veel respect voor hem. Dit is mijn leven. Zij (his loss to van Heerden) fueled me. The fire’s back in me. I love fighting in Las Vegas.
Neeco “De Haan” Macia's (L) stole the show to became a rising star
The co-feature showcased a pair undefeated junior middleweights and from the opening bell it was a real firefight. Macias forced Rolando “Rol” Garza (9-1, 6 KO), a 3-time Mexican National amateur champion, to fight his fight. Macia’s aggressive style, always coming forward, throwing punches from every conceivable angle, ruled the coop. Garza got caught up in the action and paid for it, although the score after was 39-37, 39-37 for Macias, 39-37 for Garza, entering the fifth and final round. Macia’s constant pressure controlled the action, wearing down Garza, and paid dividends as he dropped Garza in the fifth. Scheidsrechter Jay Nady had seen enough, halting the fight at that point as much due to the damage Garza had suffered in the first four rounds as the knockdown.
A rising star was born in Macia, who captured the vacant World Boxing Association (WBC) United States junior middleweight championship. “It’s conditioning, a lot of work,” Macias explained the reason for his non-stop action before crowing loudly in the ring. “I stuck to the game plan. I knew he’d come to fight with a lot of skill to out-box me and get points. My game plan was throw a lot of upper cuts and punches from every angle. It was all about throwing combinations.
He had a lot pf power, so I used defense to block punches. In the last round, I put punches together. I think the fight was stopped a little early and he could have kept going, but I didn’t see what he saw, and the referee was looking out for the fighters so we can fight another day.
Jeremy Nichols remained undefeated
In de televisie-opener, flashy Las Vegas welterweight Jeremy “J-Flash” Nichols (6-0, 2 KO) kept rolling, winning a 4-round unanimous decision over Steve Belmontes (2-1, O KOs). Nichols outworked his opponent, consistently beating Belmontes to the punch with his superior quickness.
I think it could have been a little flashier,” Nichols admitted. “But give it up to my opponent, he came to fight. Met meer dan 100 amateur gevechten, he could take a punch but he kept coming. My goal was to take everything from him and make him fight my fight. His hands were a little slower and he took a lot of good body shots and counters.
Marina Ramirez (R) was a crowd pleaser
Idaho junior flyweight Jachthaven “Rotsachtig” Ramirez (40-36, 40-36, 40-36) pitched a 4-round shutout, verslaan Rachel “De zwarte weduwe” Sazoff (0-2) door scores van 40-36 over de hele linie. “I landed a lot of shots,” Ramirez noted. “I respect her, she was tough. The game plan worked and we got the win.
Randy Moreno (L) keeps improving
Twenty-year-old Randy Moreno (4-0, 3 KO) turned in the best performance of his young career, stopping Australian junior lightweight “12” Gaige Ireland (2-1-2, 2 KO) in de derde ronde. Moreno fights with the poise of a much older fighter, effectively counter punching from the opening bell. “Het voelt geweldig,” Moreno commented. “I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t forGil Martinez (hoofdtrainer). He is notorious for his training methods and it’s paid off. I’ve been with him 10 jaar. Fighting here at home means the world to me.
Ismail Muwendo (L) bleef ongeslagen
Ongeslagen lichtgewicht vooruitzicht Ismail “Scherpe schutter” Muwendo, fighting out of Minneapolis by way of his native Uganda, verbeterd 18-0 (12 KO), taking a one-sided six-round unanimous decision from Eliseo Cruz (9-2-1, 6 KO). “I think I did well, I was out of the ring a long time,” Muwendo commented. He’s a tough guy who was ready.
Max Ornelas (R) opened the show in grand style
Las Vegas favorite Max “Babyface-moordenaar” Ornelas (4-0, 2 KO) remained unbeaten by way of a 4-round unanimous decision over Jonathan “Johnny BoyQuiorz (6-5, 1 KO). “I was confident (of winning the decision,” the 18-year-old Ornelas said. “I was out-boxing him. I love fighting here. I have a lot of support from family and friends; I’m motivated when I hear them.

De “De” must go in co-feature showdown at “Knockout Night at the D” between Undefeated junior middleweight prospects Rolando Garza & Neeco Macias

Live- Zeven. 9 on CBS Sports Network from the Downtown Las Vegas Event Center
LAS VEGAS (Augustus 30, 2016) – In a classic match-up of contrasting styles, Rolando “Rol” Garza en Neeco “De Haan” Macia's will both put their undefeated records on the line in the “Knockout Night at the D” 8-round co-featured event, luchten Vrijdag nacht, September 9, op CBS Sports Network, leef van buitenaf Centrum van Las Vegas Events Center (DLVEC).
De “Knockout Night at the D” serie, gepresenteerd door

en DLVEC, wordt gepromoot door Roy Jones Jr. (RJJ) Boksen Promotions. Hall Of Fame announcers Jim “J.R.” Roos en Al Bernstein will call all of the action from ringside, vanaf 11 p.m. EN / 11 p.m. EN, op CBS Sports Network.

The 10-round main event pits unbeaten junior welterweights Emmanuel “Renegade” Robles (15-1-1, 5 KO) en Steve “De draak” Claggett(23-4-1, 16 KO),promoted in association with Bobby D Presents, for the vacant North American Boxing Association (Ook) – United States junior welterweight championship.
Garza and Macias (12-0, 6 KO), who will be fighting for the vacant WBCUS junior middleweight championship, are exact opposites in and out of the ring. The winner will advance to the next level of competition in the 154-pound division.
A technically sound boxer, Garza had an extensive amateur background as a member of the Mexican National Team, eindigen met een 120-12 record, before turning pro September 29, 2012. The quiet, unassuming fighter 24-year-old was impressive in his last fight, also at the DLVEC this past Juni 10, in which he dominated previously unbeaten Erasmo garcia (5-0-1) on his way to an 6-round unanimous decision (59-54, 59-54, 58-56) overwinning.
Rolando Garza
(Foto door Tom Donoghue / de D))

The opportunity that Roy Jones Jr Boxing Promotions and CBS Sports Network has presented me has boosted my confidence to another level,” Garza said. “I have never been more confident in my skills, my team and training. I’m going to show Las Vegas and the rest of country what my talent brings into the ring. Once Las Vegas witnesses my talent, vechten op de nationale televisie, no one will be able to turn a blind eye. Not only will this fight put my name out there, but better opportunities will present themselves, and that keeps me motivated.

This fight will propel me into the 154-pound rankings. It’s high risk with an even higher reward: the WBC / US title. My opponent is a brawler; a non-stop, aggressive puncher who moves forward, which will make this fight nothing short of explosive fireworks in the ring.
In the other corner, the non-stop Macias relies on conditioning and an aggressive, always coming forward approach to break down his opponent. The 25-year-old Macias, fighting out of Palm Desert, Californië, unlike Garza, who now lives and trains in Austin (TX), had only 30 amateur bouts having started boxing at the relative advanced age of 21. He did win gold medals at the National Blue & Gold Tournament, as well as Central California Golden Gloves and Desert Showdown. Macias is a showman, playing to the crowd before, during and after fights, crowing like a rooster, always with a broad smile on his face.
Neeco Macia
(Foto door Tom Donoghue – de D)

Macia's’ last fight, also at the DLVE this past April 16, resulted in an action-packed fight against Limberth Ponce(10-2). Never tasking his foot off the pedal, Macias rolled to a win by 8-round unanimous decision (79-73 X 3), earning him a legion of new fans who were in attendance or watched the fight on CBS Sports Network.

Fighters don’t really care who they fight, they just want to fight,” Macias explained why his risking his undefeated record against an opponent who has never loss. “I had a fight fall through so, instead of waiting for another fight, when the opportunity to fight a 9-0 guy came, my coaches watched film of him and we agreed that I’m ready. This is the first time I’m fighting on the ‘Bside, but we’re using that as motivation. I take one fight at a time but I know I’m fighting on TV and need to look good. I want to show everyone that all the hard work has paid off.
I see this fight as my opponent probably having more skill, he’s technically sound and sets up his shots. But our plan is to take him out of his game plan, wear him down and have some fun doing it. My last fight was my first in Las Vegas and first time fighting on national television. It got a lot of notice. I’ve been through all of that now and will be even better prepared for this fight. It’s awesome fighting in Las Vegas on CBS Sports Network!”

Zeven. 9th has the potential to be the most explosive top-to-bottom card in the already praised 2016 “Knockout Night at the D” serie, which consistently showcases morgenstars in highly competitive, compelling match-ups.
“Knockout Night at the D’ is truly establishing itself in Downtown Las Vegas as a premier event for boxing fans in the community and beyond,” zei Derek Stevens, Eigenaar en CEO van de D Las Vegas en DLVEC. “From hometown heavy-hitters to up-and-coming amateur fighters, the second half of this series will bring unforgettable, action-packed shows that can’t be missed.

I am excited to showcase my skills once again as the main event on a Roy Jones Jr. Boxing Promotions card,” Robles zei. “Both of my promoters, RJJ & Bobby D, are presenting me with such an incredible opportunity to fight for the Regional NABA Title belt. My opponent is in for the boxing lesson of his life. I know Claggett will be a strong contender and brings a power punch to the table. He is going to be challenging, the toughest opponent I’ve had to face thus far in my boxing career, but I am ready to show my opponent and his team the skills that will help me capture the title and bring it home to RJJ and my team.
It’s an honor to display my superior boxing skills for Roy Jones Jr. on CBS Sports Network and I am humbled that Las Vegas has accepted me with such open arms. Claggett is taking a risk by dropping down one weight class in order to challenge junior welterweight Robles.

“Deze strijd betekent alles voor mij,” Claggett explained. It is a make or break fight for my career and I have a chance to re-enter the boxing world at 140 pond, which is a weight that I believe I should have been fighting at a little while ago. I have a new trainer for the first timea new teamand I am looking forward to showing fans a new fighter. A victory will stamp my name as a true world champion contender. I understand my position and I know that I am on the ‘Bside, but I have been in this position many times before. I have a lot of experience in the sport of boxing and it has finally all come together for me. This will be my best fight. My focus and training will show on fight night.

My opponent is a strong fighter. Robles is a sharp boxer and he has a good history in the sport as well. He is a southpaw and brings a good record to the table. All respect to the Robles team, but I am ready to fight for my life, and this is what this sport is all about. Expect me to bring everything I have and put on a ’10war for the fans.

Hernandez schokt Magomedov John Vera houdt Joey Ruelas tegen Tienersensatie Devin Haney schittert

Mijn prik was erg belangrijk vanavond.

(L-R) – John Vera & Joey Ruelas
